Midnight Melody (Open)

A lone figure sat on a rock just off the shore of Jump City beach, a small harp in her hands and a large flower decorating her long blue hair that trailed into the lapping calm waves, she began singing a gentle song as the moonlight shone upon her, making her skin shimmer in the moonlight.

Her fingers danced effortlessly on the strings of the harp, like she had been playing since birth, past her hips was a light blue scaled mermaid tail, the scales were small and smooth like a fish's, her voice was soft and gentle, like velvet for the ears, as she played she stared at the moon, as if she was playing just for it.

During that night Brian was comming from his nightly patrol around the city to see if any of his former customers needed any extra work done. Sadly they did not. During that patrol Brian decided that he would go relax at the beach during the night when no one was around and just relax.

When Brian arrived he noticed that someone was singing. Brian had no idea of what the name of the song actually was or who was singing it but Brian had to admit that he was enjoying it. Laying on the soft sand Brian slowly closed his eyes and listened to the song

Luna continued playing the harp and singing the song, unaware of Brian or anyone else around her, she just focused on her song as she breathed in rhythm to the song like a slow metronome.

Bloodveld walked along the beach, in the opposite direction of the amusement park. He had been there not too long ago, and had had a particularly fortunate time scavenging. He silently laughed to himself. "I can't believe how easy it was to trick that hot dog vender" he thought; "poor guy never even saw me." He looked up when he heard music, and noticed the girl sitting on a rock. He stopped for a moment and listened to her play.

"Its...beautiful" he thought; "Both her playing AND her singing..."

He stood there for a moment, just listening. Then, remembering he didn't really want to be seen or otherwise get involved, he sat down behind a nearby rock, but in a position where he could still lean over to see her if he wanted to.

He sat there; calmed and captivated by the music.

Brian sat there and listened to the music as much as he could... it was euphoric, but at a certain point Brian decided that he wanted to take a dip in the water. Getting up Brian began to walk toward the water. Stripping off of his shirt he jumped into the waters. Letting his head stay under the water Brian let himself grow gills and began to relax under the water.

Luna soon finished the song and smiled as she stared at the moon happily, placing her harp next to her on the rock, unaware of who was behind her.

Needless to say, Bloodveld noticed when she stopped playing. "Is she finished?" he thought, leaning over to see if she was. He sighed when she put down her harp, "Oh well, it was beautiful while it lasted, and I'm glad I got to hear what I did."

He noticed the girl's blue mermaid tail, shining in the moonlight. "Well that's new...it's not every day you see something like that." He sat against the rock, relaxed, and stared for a moment at her blue hair and tail, and her flower, and...well, her in general.

Brian noticed when the music was over. Yet he still remained under the water, once it was over Brian realized that his entire point of the trip was to relax at the beach... on the beach, but since Brian was already confortable under the water he took a deep breath under the water using his newly formed gills and tried to see if he could do a dolphin flip outside of the water. He got out of the water and into the air... but then he ended up belly flopping the surface of the water...
"Damn..." Brian said under the water.

Bloodveld noticed someone jump out of the water like a dolphin and land a belly flop that looked like it might have hurt.

"Hm...again, not something you see every day."

He moved behind the rock again and leaned back, closing his eyes to rest a bit.

Luna blinked when she heard the splash "what the..." she muttered before picking up her harp and diving into the water herself, swimming to the land where she crawled onto the land and formed her legs, a long flowing skirt where her tail once was.

Brian continued to stay under the water. Sighing He wondered if anyone was paying enough attention to what he did.

After hearing another splashing noise, Bloodveld wondered if something was going on, but wasn't sure whether to look and see or just ignore it. "Meh...I might as well..." He got up, turned around, and looked over the rock. By this time she had gotten up and he could see her clearly. He recognizing the hair, flower, and harp; but hang on...where those...

"Legs?" He thought, tilting his head slightly with a curious look on his face. "Well THAT'S curious...didn't she have a fish tail just a minute ago?"

Luna looked out to the sea and seemingly bowed towards the moon "it was wonderful to play for you tonight Mr Moon, I hope we meet again sometime" she said happily before she walked over to the rock where Bloodveld was behind, not knowing he was behind it, she just leaned back against it happily.

Brian continued to stay motionless under the water until he noticed something... It was big and bluish and had a large fin on the top of it's head. "%#!@, its a shark." Brian glubbed from the bottom of the waters. It didn't seem to have any interest in him because he wasn't bleeding but, it didn't help the fact that he was surrounded by 3 of them. One curious shark bit at Brian's leg lightly. Brian winced. The shark deciding that Brian was food attempted to bite harder. Brian swiftly kicked the shark in the nose and began to rain his fist from above the shark before throwing it on land... right where the singing girl and the relaxing dude were sitting.

The other two sharks were completely oblivious to the shark being relocated from the waters and began to attack Brian underwater.

Bloodveld stared down at the girl for a moment...then looked up. "Well...I guess I had better..." Then suddenly a shark flew from the water; straight at the two of them. "What the!!!" He didn't wast time; reaching over and grabbing the girl by the shoulder/upper arms, he jumped to the right, landing on his side (and the girl with him) about 6 feet away, right before the shark landed with a heavy *THUD*.
