Night walk in the city (open)

Yami blinks as she laughs, twitching in embarrassment as he realizes what she was laughing at. He had neglected to store those!Clearing his throat, he shakes his head." No...but I'll be fine. I've slept on shifting sand dunes, rocks, and...other things."

XiFeng looked over at him in alarm. No way was she stealing this guy's bed. First he saves her, and then he gives her a place to spend the night, and now he wants to sleep on the floor. Not gonna happen. Her powers wanted out anyways right? Might as well get some out of the way. This guy seemed legit.

"I'm actually not gonna sleep on your bed tonight. There's a more comfortable place for me up there." She pointed up at the dingy light fixture hanging from the ceiling that attempted to light the room.

The cloth mage blinks in confusion as she points at the lamp, then nods." Aaaaah, I see...your transformation ability...very well, if that is what you wish." He takes off his scarf and hoodie, folding them neatly and putting them on a canvas bag,adjusting the sleeveless shirt he wore underneath, sighing in relief as he begins to cool down. Considering his powers, that jacket was better than a bulletproof vest, but it did get stuffy.

XiFeng turned around to give Yami a little bit of privacy while he wound down for the night. Walking over to the shelf she picked out a familiar manga that had read a long time ago when she still lived in China and manga was sold like magazines. It used to be habit to pick up a ridiculous manga and read it. XiFeng settled herself in the corner, content to take ten or twenty minutes to read this book. Secretly she hoped that Yami would fall asleep in that time, and he wouldn't have to watch her transform. Chances were slim but she needed a de stressor anyways so either way it was a win win.

Yami nods at her." Well...good night." He lies down, tensing. He hated this part, hated the dreams.He breathes out slow, forcing himself to relax, then soon drifts off to sleep, mentally telling his mind to bring it.

XiFeng relaxed as Yami started to drift off to sleep. Secrecy objective achieved! She let the small ball of fire in her chest relax and seep out through every pore of her skin. The part she liked best was to watch herself dissolve into millions of glowing embers as they swirled in the air. When finally the last of herself melted away, the embers collected into a tiny ball midair, condensed, gave off a blinding flare of light, and then a small bird the size of a red tailed hawk burst forth, encased in flames. She hovered in the air a few moments while she drew the fire into herself so she didn't burn down the apartment. Now, as a more normal bird that was not on fire, XiFeng flew up to the lamp and perched. It had been a long time since she had fallen asleep like this. She wanted to remember how it felt.

Yami's face flinches at the light, and he sleepily grumbles, turning over. His face wasn't quite as stern as it was when he was awake, probably because this was the only time he relaxed. He begins settling deeper into his sleep cycle...

The lamp was uncomfortable. Bad choice, XiFeng. Bad choice. If birds could sigh, she would have. Instead, she hopped off her perch and decided to cuddle up in the canvas bag that held Yami's outfit. Scootching the outfits away, she was able to settle on just a corner of the bag. By the time all this was finished Yami seemed to be deeply sleeping.

Yami chuckles, seeming to be enjoying a funny dream, but he soon tenses, clenching his fists and gathering up several strips.He groans, shaking his head as he begins to shudder." Nooooo....Mamma...Poppa..." Wetness gathers around a eye, and he let's out a shuddering sigh, managing to get through that dream.

XiFeng looked over in alarm at the bed. Her bird vision made most of the colours off, but it was obvious that those fearful words came from Yami. He was having night terrors. If anyone knew, XiFeng did. She still had them, it was part of why her insomnia was so bad. Less room for terrors if you only fall asleep a couple hours.

She wondered what she could do to help. No mind control of soothing powers here. Except maybe the Phoenix's song? At first it was meant to warn people the Phoenix was around, but it was a lovely little bird song that relaxed people into a sort of dazed state. It didn't last very long, and usually it was only reserved to honour the people in its presence now that the world was more dangerous, but Yami had already saved her once. He was asleep anyways. It couldn't hurt anything right?

The notes easily flew from XiFeng, soft and melodious like fluffy flakes of snow drifting through the air. It only lasted a few minutes, and it may only help for ten minutes of so, but secretly XiFeng felt a bit of satisfaction being able to sing the song again. She had only ever done it once before.

Yami groans, entering another terror.....but then, notes intrudes upon his misery. The dream fights, attempting to stay strong, but it soon fades under the healing assault, and he sighs, relaxing, a smile coming onto his face as he enters into a more blissful dream,

XiFeng relaxed when she saw Yami relax. The song probably wouldn't last long, unless there was some special exception in the dreams, but if she had to, she would keep singing the darn thing until the sun rose or she passed out from exhaustion first. There was a secret theory of hers that the more she used her powers, the easier it would be to fall asleep. But Yami had done a lot for her and she really wanted to do her best, so she would try anyways.

The night passes, Yami getting the first real sleep he'd had in years thanks to XiFengs efforts.in the morning, he wakes up slowly, stretching satisfyingly, grumbling cheerfully." Strange...I feel much better than usual..." He glances at Xifeng,nodding as he sees her bird form." Interesting..." He quietly gets up, examining his supply of cash. Not much, but he could replenish it from the next scum he busts...Making sure his strip bag was around his neck, he grabs enough Cash, climbing out the window......a short time later, he enters again with a McDonalds bag full of breakfast food, sitting it,and himself, down.

XiFeng woke up with a jolt, bursting into flames. Where was- oh yeah. Duh stupid. She cut the flames hoping the canvas bag she had been resting on wasn't scorched. Yami was already awake on the other side of the room and it had appeared he was already out. He was fiddling around with a McDonalds bag. Couldn't eat that as a bird... She flew over beside the table and triggered her transformation. Her bird form, same as her human withered away into millions of swirling embers, and reformed with a flash of light to reveal her human form.

"You got breakfast." She yawned. After singing that darn song all night, she was beat. Speaking of beat...what would happen if she went home now?

Yami,seeing her burst, remarks dryly." Thank goodness I thought to environment proof my bag. It'd be tragic to lose my only clothes."His eyes widen as she transforms, and he nods." That is an impressive ability..." He blinks,scolding himself. Stop it! You can't get close to anyone...He pulls back into his cold persona." Indeed. Here." He grabs a egg and bacon bagel, passing the bag to her.
