Breaking In! - Russian Attack! (Pikazard)

For a second Kane was confused as to what Aeon meant when she said that she had found the answer, but then his questions answered themselves when she stabbed her brother, the same man they had fought hard for! Kane watched as the life left his eyes and growled, he was in the mood to smash skulls! Aeon spoke some bull about how mankind had to be eliminated, but Kane, much like Haruhi, was beyond listening.

But unlike Haruhi, who just yelled, Kane was completely silent as he blurred behind Aeon and whirled a kick that would have hospitalized her. Yet, before the kick could hit, he stopped himself. Even if she had done what she did, he still wasn't used to viewing her like this, as an enemy, he still viewed her as a friend. He just let his foot hover there, barely an inch away from her, he was so shaken that he was just leaving himself wide open.

Kristina's hair whipped across her face as the gust created by Kane's halted kick blew past. Kristina gently grabbed Kicker's foot and tilted it down. "I just had my mind expanded is all, even though I'm connected to an infinite information network." she smiled. "kind of ironic isn't it?"

Aeon's one good eye flared as the green orb shimmered.

Meanwhile, JaK sat up and clutched his pelvis. The bones that weren't broken or shattered had reset but there were still multiple fractures; he could barely bare the pain. He gritted his teeth and leaned back on the floor. That's when he heard it...the ticking.

JaK's eyes suddenly widened as he looked towards Aeon and saw her shimmering eye. "RUN!" The boy suddenly yelled. Aeon seemed impressed JaK had figured it out but said nothing.

"She set the place to blow!!" JaK groaned to Haruhi and Kicker.

Aeon began to chuckle, while covering her mouth. "There's only a few seconds to go now..." She opened her arms as if ready to embrace what came next. "It was a last security measure in case NuVision labs was ever compromised."

JaK looked at Aeon in disbelief, had she gone completely insane? Regardless JaK was too injured to get them out or do anything in this state. In fact he was busy coughing up blood.

Before Haruhi could make a move to knock some sense into Aeon, Kicker beat her to the punch. She some him appear before her his foot aimed at her head, bit it didn't connect. He kept his foot hovering in front of her face, a blast of air wipping her hair behind her like a fan. She saw Jak sit up and helped support him up by placing a hand on his shoulder. Then she heard it, a ticking noise. That's when Jak alerted them it was a bomb. "We need to get out of here!" She helped Jak stand and was hit with concern as she saw the blood. A few seconds....Aeon had lost it, the only one she could think of get them out of there fast enough was Kicker whom she she then adressed, "Kicker, we need an exit."

At that moment, Kane was so shaken up that Aeon could have just reached over and stabbed him, but instead she simply lowered his foot. Kane gasped all of a sudden and backed away a few metres. Then JaK woke up and told them that Aeon had set the building to blow up! Aeon, being the crazy woman that she had just become, was not bothered about the explosion. Did she have some kind of way of surviving the explosion? Or had she gone so insane that the didn't care about her life?

Kane cursed and zoomed over to the wall, kicking it down, before he zoomed over to Haruhi and JaK in a second with his enhanced jump and grabbed them both, hoisting JaK over his shoulder and just extending his arm so Haruhi could grab on. Then he ran over Kristina Grab on tight! C'mon, let's get out of here! Given her current mental state there was a chance she would not want to escape, so Kane might be forced to bring her with him.

Aeon seemed like she was going to accept his hand. She even seemed like she was fighting for her sanity and was realizing this was all so crazy.

...But then the first explosion hit on the bottom floor and steam blew from one the pipes in the ceiling enshrouding her.

There wasn't anymore time. The explosions occurred one after the other and Kristina was no longer in that spot when the steam cleared. Although her brothers body could be seen being dragged across the floor within the debris.

The building went up like a firecracker moments later.

Haruhi could feel the building rumble and grabbed onto Kicker as he grabbed Jak and extended his arm towards her. She saw him extend his hand towards Aeon, but as she hesitated to take his aid an explosion in the bottom floors went off, causing a pipe to enshroud the room with steam. When it cleared Aeon was gone, and the heroes didn't have time to hesitate anymore, the building was coming down and it was coming down fast.

For a second Kristina seemed to have come to her senses, Kane smiled and almost took her hand, but then the destruction of the pipe created steam that obscured their vision. When the steam cleared, Aeon was gone Kristina... He cursed loudly and jumped out the hole he had made, he stood on the air for a second and then used his enhanced jump to get away, just as the building exploded.

Kane touched down on the floor, put JaK down, let go of Haruhi and then leant against the wall. He needed a moment to recover, all this was too much for him. Then he stood up properly again, walked over to a trash can, then he kicked it into orbit and swore loudly. For a second he looked genuinely terrifying, even Jericho in Kane's body had not looked this intimidating. Kane walked over to Haruhi and JaK, then sighed and went back to normal You two... thank you... if the Russians had gotten hold of me, they could have done alot of damage... he had looked so angry a second ago, but now he just looked like he needed a hug.

JaK was placed on the ground where he got to all fours then grabbed his lower abdomen. The internal bleeding hadn't stopped yet? How hard did this kid hit when he wasn't holding back? JaK gritted his teeth and spoke. "You're a good guy dude..." JaK was quiet. "You should find a different profession, this is gonna end in heartbreak often for people like you." JaK struggled to stand but then dropped back to his knees.

He wanted to scream and cry, what just happened was all his fault. Aeon, Kole, Jericho, all had something to do with his mistakes. He ended up just pounding the ground with his fist. "I still can't do anything...After everything that's happened, I still can't." When JaK was speaking to Kane earlier he was actually projecting his own thoughts. Kristina and her brother had been lost in just a few hours.

Haruhi let go of Kane as they landed on the ground. She looked over at the two boys, Jak still badly injured and Kane worn out and peeved. She knew what they were feeling, as Kicker kicked the trash can into space and Jak pounded the ground with his fist. She looked down at the ground and took a deep breath before looking up and facing them. "I would wait on finding a new profession. We're not exactly finished." She said glancing at Kicker then glanced at Jak. "Didn't I just fight alongside you Jak, you can do plenty, you're strong, and you'll have chances to do even more." She said giving him a faint smile, she then looked back in the direction of where the lab was. "We're in the middle of war. We're going to have losses." The scene of Aeon going completely insane, how her brother's eyes rolled to the back of his head as the life was drained from him by his own sister, still fresh in her mind. "But if we give up now, we've given up on all those closest to us, given up on the ones we've already lost." She then glanced back and pointed at Jak's gauntlet. "Kole is continuing to fight this war along with us right now, through you Jak. I don't agree in the slightest with what Aeon was saying, and something tells me that neither did brother, no matter what she said." She then clenched her fists, dropping her arms to her sides. "After what she has done.....if she somehow makes it out of there alive...she has already fallen in my eyes. Wether she can be saved or not I don't know, but what I do know is, I won't hesitate to stop her from hurting anyone else."

Kane stiffened at JaK's words, he was right with one thing, this would inevitably not be the second time Kane would feel like this. The first time had been at the airport, when he had failed to rescue the hostages from the Russians. But Kane would not give up, he couldn't. After everything those monsters had done, he had to give it back 1000 fold! Haruhi spoke up, Kane knew that she was right, but he was feeling down at the moment I need some time to myself... that was all he said before he turned and walked away.

JaK heard Kane's words and Haruhi's, but it appeared what he himself had said had gotten Kicker more down then he could have imagined because the hero ran off soon after this remark.

Then there was Haruhi, she filled JaK with invigoration. She gave him hope and inspired him in just a few words. It almost reminded him of...

...He smiled warmly and looked at his right wrist bracelet. "He's still fighting with me," JaK stood up finally feeling well enough to rise. "You're right about that. And as long as I have this armor I'll use it to better help mankind, just like he would have." JaK clenched his fist. "Just watch man, I'll save your sister too. Aeon gave up on humanity but we can't give up on her dream." Kristina wasn't righteous even before this but she believed meta-humans and regular people could co-exist and her lab and life was dedicated to this ideal. Even if she had given up on that path JaK wouldn't give up on the goal she showed him was possible to achieve.

"If you're gonna help me Haru, we can bring her back, I know it." JaK said as he accepted the new weapon which he originally was going to toss into the deepest darkest pit he could find out of disgust.

Haruhi watched Kicker run off and frowned slightly, as it seemed her words didn't aspire him, or maybe they got him thinking, she couldn't tell.
She then turned her attention back to Jak as he spoke up. She saw the smile that formed on his lips and couldn't help but also give a gentle smile back."Of course I'm going to help you." She said, her smile growing into a grin, she then held her fist up to him so they could bump knuckles, just like on the day when they had convinced Aeon to be their band manager.
"As your Sensei I gotta make sure you don't quit or lose sight of what's important." She teased, referencing back to the time they had trained together. She then looked away, "Although..I think you've surpassed me since the last time we've seen eachother. I really admire you, you were really impressive back there." She then hesitated before continuing to speak, "I-I'm really happy and relieved that your back, I never stopped worrying, always wondering what kind of trouble you were getting yourself into." She chuckled slightly.
"Can you promise me something Jak?" She began, "promise me you'll never say you can't do anything, cause I look up to you Jak."

JaK scratched the back of his head at her remark about her being his sensei. He thought back to just about half a year ago where he had been a hardheaded knucklehead and Haruhi spent hours beating the basics of hand to hand combat into him.

Now it must seem odd to her to see him have progressed this much but of course it was necessary for his survival at the time. "You could say that.." He had had multiple teachers and not just in martial arts. Survival, Russian professors, acrobatic instructors, etc. He had a bunch of help along the way and in some ways he owed each one of them for helping him get to this point.

Then Haruhi said she never wanted to see him want to give up like that again. JaK smiled warmly at her and touched the side of her head. "Don't trip, I'll always be strong from now on. That's a promise." However as she finished her remark he started to put things together in his head. Haruhi should hate him or at least have ill feelings, shouldn't she? "Say Haru, do you have a---!!!" Suddenly JaK doubled over and barfed up blood. He had been stupid, 25 plus tons to your abdomen wasn't something even he could heal from that fast. The internal bleeding began again from some scar tissue he opened up by moving around too much and standing for too long. JaK coughed violently while grasping his stomach.

He wasn't getting home tonight, not that he even really had a home.

Haruhi felt him touch her head and blushed, but then smiled back as he promised to keep his promise. Her eyebrows raised as he was about to ask her a question but then her face filled with concern as he toppled over and puked up blood. "Jak!" She quickly crouched and grabbed his shoulder and back to give him support. He continued to cough violently. "Don't push yourself, come on." She then became his crutch. She knew he healed on his own, but wondered if a hospital would still be able to help.
