Afterward (For Terra)

I'm sorry, but this just seems like such a perfect time for Raven to come in, I tried to contact you in the beginning of my membership about our characters meeting up some time. But it seems so perfect to see the twin of the male Terran from Raven's universe. If you allow me, I'll come in in a couple posts, but I'd really like to see you sometime even if it's not in this thread.

Terra smiled. She had that weird sort of smile that tried to sell happiness and security. It sold it too well. She couldn't help it. Every look from another felt like an accusation, and every pause in a sentence a moment to see if she would screw up.

The food was slid over and she ate in semi-silence. There was small talk of school and study, and her perpetual battles with mathamatics and home economics. The one thing she kept finding herself drifting back to was the ever damning discussion of Superheroes. She seemed to know every villain and every battle of the Titans, and regailed tales of their most heroic encounters. Even the ones she'd had to look up on Wikipedia, Titanpedia, Jump City News and the Youtube sister site Youtitan.

"...And that's how Cyborg beat Brother Blood. I mean sure it doesn't make much sense. How was his willpower able to manifest into a magical alternative to his technological powers? My theory? Zatanna was in town. She's the witch with the top hat. Or maybe he became a Green Lantern. How's the food? I told you it was awesome."

Raven stopped.
He had been notified of an earthquake after an extensive search of the wilderness in the southern part of the country, and had been told to check up on it.
But in mid flight, his Book of Azar had sent out a wave of energy. Some incredibly familiar presence had registered with it, and it, in turn, had told Raven about it.
Raven flew down to rooftop level and landed on an AC unit for an apartment building. Looking around, he spotted a rest stop sitting on the side of the road, alone from all the other buildings.
Nothing else seemed to register with him, nothing gave off the same energy signal, but he kept finding himself staring at the diner. For some reason, the name resonated with him.
Then he remembered, Beast Babe had had to tell the whole team about her date with Terran and his betrayal. The name of the diner was the same as the one in BB's story.
Could it?... no, it's foolish of me to think- Raven told himself. But I've felt that same energy before, it's so familiar.
He made up his mind. Raven swept down and landed in front of the diner.
Walking in, he looked around searching for a sight he never again expected to see. Beast Babe had said that Terran had come back without his memory or his powers, so why should anything be different in this dimension?
[i]But everything in this dimension is almost 3 years later than that of my dimension. So much has changed here, maybe she has too. Raven always expected him to be a villain in his return, even though he died a hero. But everyone in here looked normal.
Then he saw him, or rather... her.
She looked like Terran's sister, a twin that didn't exist. The same shade of hair, the same blue eyes, even her body language seemed so similar to Terran's. Sitting next to her was another man, her boyfriend perhaps?
Poor BB, I wonder how much she... he knows.
Thinking, he asked himself what the female equivalent of the name 'Terran' was, but before he had a chance, she spotted him.

Isaiah listened intently to Terra and nooded, a few of the stories he had heard, but there were many he hadn't. He picked at his food while he talked to her, "has there been any sightings of new criminals?"he asked, before realizing that Terra was looking up over at something, "what is it?" his voice was hushed.

Terra always chose the stools at the counter because the reflective mirror gave her ample time to spot folks coming and going. Not that anybody was really after her, but she'd always sheltered a fear the law enforcement agencies of the world were one day going to collect their dues for so much property damage. Seeing the door swing open, she had to do a double take from slurping her soda. She didn't stare longer than a blink.

....Raven?

She almost choked, her cheeks ballooning and cola shooting out of her nose. She coughed and bolted right for the ladies rest room, struggling to breathe as she went.

Inside, in a closed cubical she was quick to lock, she ran through the scene in her head.

"Hullucination. Has to be. Like the time you saw Slade. Just a trick of the light. I mean no way would she be here right now. Oh man," she face palmed and sat on the closed lid of the stall. Thankfully, the other reason she loved this place was its immaculately clean condition.

"Wait, no, lets be real here. Even if it was Raven, she doesnt know about this place... unless Beast Boy told her. Probably a fan. People dress as superheroes all the time, don't they? Don't they?"

She didn't recall anybody dressing as Terra for Halloween, and even then, it was miles from Halloween. Was probably nothing. Probably nothing....

Terra was staring at Raven, stunned, unable to believe what she was seeing.
Perhaps the Raven of this dimension had been killed. He thought. But he began walking towards the two sitting at the bar anyway.
The man she was with stood, mistaking Terra's speechlessness as a sign of fear, but she put a hand out on his arm and stopped him.
Te-Terran? Raven stammered, wondering if she would respond to the name. For some reason she seemed surprised. But then he remembered, his voice was male, the female Raven was off somewhere fighting the Brotherhood of Evil.
Raven? she said.

(Canace, not to be the complaining type, but please don't post other characters actions for them, like me seeing you, or Isaiah stopping you)

(Complaining type? Surely you jest! Unless having permission, this'd be a minor show of taking control over other characters --> godmodding. Don't sweat it Canace, just be careful next time. Doing it too often will not yield any friendly results from members nor me. Im surprised Terra's quite calm about it.)

I'm sorry, I guess I'm still a noob. I was just trying to further the seen thinking on what she would do. I generally only RP for someone a bit (just for little things like hit for hit fights, not to control the scene) when I understand their characters enough, but I felt I understood Terra because I've seen her so often already. Sorry.

In the bathroom, in the cubical, behind a locked door, Terra was fretting. She hadn't seen it was a male Raven. She hadn't even seen it was Raven. She just felt it was Raven. That same dark, judgemental, ominous aura and creepy shade of colours in the corner of her eye that haunted her dreams, had now boxed her in the no-escape restroom.

'Have to get out, have to get out' she thought, mind racing.

'Anywhere but here'

No sooner did she think this than the ground open beneath her. The earth gently parted, not like a tremor, or an earthquake, but a simple parting of tile and rock, dropping her gently down a slope into the darkness below.

"Ow, oophf... ugh..." She dusted her knees and dug out her flashlight. The beam cut through the tunnel. Deja vu. She'd been underground ample times by her own design, and the perfectly smooth, circular chute wound out before her like the ideal escape route.

"Did I make this?" Of course she did. She knew her own handiwork. These kind of tunnels were her signature. She closed her eyes and a flashback of Slade seemed to swim through her mind. A duel, toe to toe in a mine. Close quarters, trapped, she unleashed a barrage of earth-based attacks that could barely keep him at bay. It had almost brought the whole mine down, and seriously threatened the Teen Titans.

Shame overcame her.

Then she remembered she might have to deal with Raven. Rather not, so she ran on, down the winding tunnel. It sloped down, then gently up, up, and.... thump, exploded into bright light. She gathered her subconscious had steered her to safety, maybe down the street. An abandoned lot? She didn't hear any traffic.

She crawled out the hole, into a room with tiles and hundreds of small metal doors, like filing cabinets. The place felt cool, with lights high overhead. "What is this place? A morgue?"

Turning around, she saw a huge vault door, looming over her like a fortress gate.

"...Oh no."

The tunnel had taken her straight from the diner and under the street, right into the Jump Primary Bank's high security vault.

BEEP - BEEP - BEEP - BEEP - BEEP

The alarm kicked in, louder than anything she'd ever heard. Terra froze for a half second as the tunnel closed behind her. Her rebellious powers playing their tricks, and locking her in the vault.

"Not good."

Isaiah was left standing while Terra ran to the bathroom. He glanced back at the newcomer who had obviously upset her ~What just happened?~, he wondered. He glanced back at the bathroom and the boy before him again. All he could do for the moment was wait.

Raven felt his guilt creeping out of his mental prison, enveloping him.
Did she remember him? Is that why she left? On his dimension, he had distrusted her even when she was still their friend, and he had never gotten another chance to apologize: she had died a hero.
Or so they thought.
But apparently, Beast Babe was right when she'd told them all that Terran had come back.
In this universe, Terran was still alive as well. But does she share the same history? The same powers? Did this girl betray and die for the Titans of this dimension? So many thoughts were buzzing around in Raven's head, he hardly noticed the man at the counter, staring at the door that the girl had just gone through.

"I'm sorry, did I interrupt something?"

Whilst coffee and cream was being served across the road, Terra was in a pickle. The alarm was nigh-on deafening. Closing her eyes and covering her ears did little to hide away the blaring beeps and flashing siren.

"Shut up shut up SHUT UP."

At once the ground rose to save her. Two sharp pillars of stone mashed through the floor to destroy the speaker systems, tearing open the walls, and spilling money and diamonds everywhere. She gasped at the damage, so the spikes seemed to morph into hands, scooping it all up again. She breathed a sigh of relief... then realised without her consent, the earthern limbs were robbing the place.

"No. Put it back. You're getting me into worse troub-"

The rock hands paused for a moment.... then clenched into two tight fists, surging forward to smash the bank vault off of its hinges and bars, sending it crashing through the bank foyer. The people on the other side had already been evacuated, spilling out onto the street as soon as the alarm was sounded.

Terra stepped through the smoke, coughing and wiping the dust from her eyes. How she missed her goggles. How she missed not having any rock-based powers. Especially when they-

"Freeze! Lay down on the ground with your hands behind your head!"

"No," Isaiah raised his eyebrows as he grabbed his jacket and paid for the meal. The was a commotion going on across the road and he had a bad feeling. Terra had been unstable since the last time they'd met and he had a feeling that she didn't just go into the bathroom to calm herself.

He strode passed the stranger, brushing passed him. He opened the the door to walk outside and stopped the nearest passerby. "What's going on?"
The gawker was a round middle aged woman carrying a grocery bag, "looks like someone just burst into the bank, there's a lot of dust maybe an explosion? My my I hope no one's hurt," she fretted.
