Ace. Interesting name. She thought for quite a moment before deciding to tell him "Call me Phoenix." After more thought, she added a question. "Why did you try to stop me?"

Phoenix, huh? Doesn't really sound like a normal name to me. Ace thought, listening as Phoenix asked why he had tried to stop her. In response, Ace shrugged. "You were lighting a piece of land you didn't own on fire. That happens to be illegal as well as a rather dangerous situation. I was trying to prevent something like what just happened. It's just what heroes do." Well, self-proclaimed heroes...close enough.

"You didn't exactly do the best job..." She muttered under her breath. "It would've been fine. Besides, why throw yourself into that type of situation? It doesn't always turn out well." Getting into messes only creates bigger messes. She looked up at him, still pretty tired.

"Illegal is not fine. I can't let people go around doing whatever they want because it will 'be fine'. The reason I try to stop these kinds of situations is because I can. I've got my powers, and I can use them to help people. Better for me to try to fix a situation than to ignore it and let it escalate." Ace replied. "Besides, I was bored, and this gave me something to do." he added in a much lighter tone.

Violet couldn't help but laugh when Ace added this last part. "So you cause trouble to have fun? Doesn't exactly sound like a hero to me." She smirked. "In case you didn't notice, I've got powers too. I use them for whatever I feel like." At this point, she usually would've lit her fingertips, but with all that had just happened, and provided she was trying to get back her energy, that wasn't happening.

"You misheard. Using my powers is the fun part, and I use them to fix a situation. That's the difference between you and me. You use your powers for personal gain, I use mine to help others. Maybe if you thought about others instead of yourself, you'd get more satisfaction from using your powers. Just a thought though." Ace replied.

"I agree. Powers are very fun to use. Seems we have different purposes for them, though." She reflected on herself for a second. "By the way, you don't know me. Just a thought." Violet frowned for a moment, but quickly fixed her expression.

"Well, can't say that you're wrong. I don't know you, but does that really make a difference?" Ace inquired, yawning. "You don't have to let things that happened in the past be the sole driving feature behind your choices. People change."

Violet's eyes teared up a little at his last statement. As much as she loved her powers and wings, and as much as she loved being on her own, she didn't love how that came to be. Thank God it's dark out. She took a deep breath, and as nonchalantly as possible replied, "Tell me something I don't know."

Ace noticed the hesitation before Phoenix's reply. Oops...looks like I struck a nerve. he thought. "Something you don't know? Well, let's see. I'm actually a 10 foot tall giant, the sky is purple, and clouds are actually giant cotton balls. Bet you didn't know any of those things." he replied, attempting to lighten the mood.

Violet smiled a bit at his response. "Whaaaaat?" She exaggerated. "My life is a lie!" She laughed.

"My hero!" She said with a slight mock-country accent. She considered kissing his cheek like a damsel in distress would in any overly-cliche movie, but then she reconsidered. She couldn't help but laugh at herself. "Thanks."

"Yeah, there should be more people like that. In my honest opinion, that alone makes you a good guy. No need to play hero." Violet rethought her wording. "But if that's what you wanna do," She wasn't sure how to finish the sentence. She personally thought it was just asking to get beat up, and a waste of time on people who wouldn't appreciate it.
