The robot girl (open to 2)

Nix had crash-landed twice in less than 20 minutes. After her ship was attacked and she had escaped with Xeno. They had drifted but upon landing the ship blew a door and jettisoned Xeno before the shield reactivated leading her to think he died. Upon the ship crashing in the city she quickly picked it back up and tried to fly it somewhere else hut quickly realized that the ship was on it last legs flightwise. It fell from the sky only minutes after lift off.

Upon crashing the shield was deactivated and she was thrown about it's insides. As she rose she noticed she was in a much less populated area of the city. Her face turned from a grimace to a small smile. At least she wouldn't be surrounded by anyone or thing here. As Nix peered out of the ship she realized that the lack of population was probably due to the lack of buildings. It was nice here, quiet.

Nix walked back over to her ships console "earth? What a horrible name for a planet" she said, surprisingly, in English. Having already downloaded the language of the area along with a few others. "Well it will have to do for now" she added on with a sigh, sounding slightly disappointed.

This world was primatige to her. But it had one large advantage. She was, for the moment, free. She laughed. It sounded slightly musical. Not electronic but definitely not human. She looked about, waving a small wand like object with a green light at the end. "alright, who are you? I know you're there. Come out before I take my ship and blow you to pieces." nix said, completely bluffing but with a perfect poker face. Her ship didn't have any weapons to begin with, even if it did they would he trashed at this point. Meanwhile Nix kelt staring at her stranger who was currently out of view. But thanks to her sonic screwdriver she knew just where they were "come on why're you hiding from little ole me? Id my appearance scary here?" she added, quite hurt. She thought she looked fine.

It had been a relatively quiet and normal night in Jump City. Which was odd considering that it was Jump City, a city with so many super powered people in it. Even a normal night like this could have something unusual happen and change everything around. It only took a second for things to go from boring to exciting and strange in jump.

Samuel Malcolm had the feeling that was exactly what was going on as he saw a streak of light flash by in the beautiful dark sky as he sat on his motorcycle. That could just be a shooting star, but then that same streak lifted up from where it had landed, and colided again. That was no meteorite. Whatever it was, from the looks of things, it had landed the second time in central park. He'd have to hurry to ake sure it didn't take off again.. if it could. Grabbing his helmet from the ground, he put it on over his head, the visor reflecting the stars as the bike's engine roared to life and he sped of toward Central Park.

He was at the park in about fifteen minutes. Turning off his bike, and flipping down the kickstand, he stepped off the bike and walked into the park, off to find the crash site of...whatever it was that had crashed. That was easy, it just took a few minutes of searching, but sure enough, he found a ship of (presumably) alien origin in one of the deepest and woodiest sections of the park.

"Whoa," Sam thought, marveling at the sight of the craft before him. "This thing is unreal. What's with this place and aliens?"

As he heard the hissing of a hatch opening, Sam ducked behind a tree. When he heard that someone had stepped out of it, he hid his entire body behind it. Apparently, he did a bad job off it, since whoever was there already found him. The voice called out to him in an off sounding female voice. He hadn't gotten a good view of the ship's passenger before, but he could confirm it as female for sure now. With a sigh, he stepped out from behind the tree, helmet and visor still covering his face and head with his hands held up.

"Sorry," he said simply. "Don't shoot."

Nix smiled as Sam came out. Looking over him. He had actually believed her and had surrendered to her. Nix had just got here and was already having a good time, she liked winning and felt that this counted as one "You can relax, there's no real guns" she said, a small smile on her lips.

Sam would probably notice, very quickly, Nix wasn't human, with her white skin and hair , her bright amber eyes and her body covered in strange computer like marks. She walked up to Sam, stopping so that she was mere inches from him and looked up at him, she then would walk around him in a circle, looking over him carefully, in the process she would reveal enlarge golden key in her back. "So you're the species that lives here, never actually seen one of you...er....humans before" she added and then turned around with a slight giggle and smile, showing him her key.

"would you mind giving me a bit of a wind up?" she said "I've been cooped up in there for a while and couldnuse some help around here, in new....if you hadn't guessed." nix continued. Still smiling and giggling lightly.

Sam put his arms down as Nix said there weren't any guns, trusting her. She didn't seem very hostile. As a matter of fact, if anything, she seemed amused. While Sam was pretty much certain she wasn't human, he was beginning to have doubts about whether she was even a biological creature. Her body and hair was a pure, sleek white and her eyes and several lines running across her were glowing yellow. It was like if someone combined an iPod with a person from Tron.

Nix seemed to be making her own observations about Sam as she walked around him. She'd apparently never seen a human before.

"Yes, I am a human," Sam said, simply. That wasn't something he had to say very often, since it was kinda assumed. He looked down at the golden key in Nix's back as she asked for him to wind it for her. "Umm...sure?"

Before he reached over to turn the key, Sam removed his helmet. Nix didn't seem like she was very dangerous, so he probablly wasn't going to need it. Plus, she technically hadn't ever been face to face with a human before, so the helmet probablly would've just confused her.

Sam leaned down, grabbing hold of the key with one hand and placing another hand on Nix's upper back for support. His fingerless gloves allowed him to feel the coldness of her body, further raising Sam's suspicion. He disregarded that and gave a the key a few twists, winding it up like she asked. He heard a bunch of gears and cogs turning as he wound her up, pretty much confirming her as an android or robot.

After about the sixth turn, Sam let go of Nix and the key? "Is that good enough?" he asked.

Nix sighed with pleasure as she felt the turning of her key supply much needed life to her limbs and body. She had been in that ship for More than a week and it had severely depleted her battery causing her to become stiff and unwilling to move hut now she was back in full force. Fully wound or nearly so. She looked at him from over her shoulder "yeah that's enough." then, batting her eyes, she added on sweetly "thank you" she then flashed a bright smile. A perfect white just like the rest of her body though her mouth seemed oddly...organic. "Yeah, I needed that"

She was still searching through the Internet for cultural norms and such. Mean while she turned around and continued to look at Sam "Ah!" she said loudly as if surprised, even her eyes widened "I knew something was weird." she said motioning towards his helmet. "you look better without it anyways" she added on smiling lightly again, her hands in front of her clasped together as if they were usually like that, instead of to the sides like most. Being a servant the pose was first nature to her.

She was modeled after humans. Obviously. She was quite interested in this world. She already knew quite a bit, mainly that a big part of human culture was freedom. She was immediately excited, knowing that here she wouldn't have to serve anyone. She was done with that now. Her smile brightened for seemingly no reason as she swung back and forth slightly on her feet, then suddenly looked confused "What's a phone?" she said suddenly with a vey innocent confused look.

As Sam wound the key he heard Nix give off a happy sigh. That was a bit...odd to him, but she seemed to be enjoying it, so he didn't say anything and kept turning it anyways, letting go as normal.

"You're welcome," Sam said back with a smile of his own, though not nearly as big or bright as Nix's. He blushed a little when she said he looked better without the helmet on. Sam wasn't quite sure how to respond to that. A pretty alien robot girl that he'd known for barely 5 minutes (and at least half of those minutes he had spent thinkng she was a threat) just complemented his looks. So he just said: "Oh, thanks!"

A few, somewhat awkward moments of silence followed before Nix chimed in again with another question. She wanted to know what a phone was.

"A Phone? Well, it's short for telephone, which is Greek for 'Far Voice'. It was developed in the late 1800's by a number of inventors includi-," Sam cut himself off, realizing he was going into a history lesson without even telling her what it did. "I'm sorry, let me start over. A Phone is a device we humans use to communicate over long distances, usually by voice. "

Sam dug into his pants pocket and pulled out his cellphone, holding it up to show Nix.

"Here's what mine looks like. Why do you ask? Just curious?"

Nix listened to him with a very interested face, completely focused on what he was saying while her eyes watched his mouth, not his eyes as most people would. But who could blame her, she had just got here, she didn't know what was socially acceptable. Which was probably made obvious by her lack of clothing, she instead had an apparent skin tight covering that never showed any signs of ending.

She was so engrossed in this. She quickly snatched the phone the phone from his hands with inhuman speed and rolled it around in her hand. She then quickly took off it's battery cover and took it out with deft fingers. She then looked at it, adopting a slight look of disgust for a mere moment before turning into a look of interest. She then looked at the phone and after a fraction of a second her sonic screwdriver seemed to appear out of no where, though it had come out of a small compartment in her palm. The green light turned on, the top of it widened and there was a high pitched buzzing sound and her eyes widened as she gained knowledge of how it worked. "I just want to know, I just found it on your.....internet, that's what it's called right?" she answered him, not expectin an answer back as she hurriedly examined the phone.

The first thought in her mind was to fix it but just as she started she remembered that it was her new friends. She quickly popped back in the battery and the cove back on and held it out to him " it uses radiowaves to transmit signals from here to-" she paused and waved her sonic screwdriver towards the sky, it produced no audible difference but soon she had found the satellites the phone transmitted to an the tower it did so from "it goes to a large metal structure first and from there to there, and slash or, there and there" she said pointing to the tower and then off into the sky at satellites. "primitive but effective, satellite communications, but all ground based, why nit just use quantum mechanics though? It's so much faster and mire reliable" she said, not realizing the technological short comings of the human race

"You must have thought. Of that long ago if you're race is ancient enough to have seen the 19th century" she continued thinking that Sam was talking about the 19th century....since the beginning of the universe. She hadn't gotten very far into the history of humans yet. "Or does the human race advance that slowly?" she said quickly making it obvious that not all of her inquiries needed a response. "Ah!!" she interjected once again with another surprised loon as she brought one hand up to her mouth. "What's your name?" she said her face very intent on Sam's with widened eyes and a touch of confusion making it obvious she wanted this question answered

Sam would normally have reacted rather harshly to having his phone swiped right out of his hands, but truthe be told, he had barely noticed until he was already finished with his explanation. He also couldn't really blame her, since she'd never been around humans before, and she seemed to be very curious about how it worked. It'd be like blaming a philosopher for asking questions: it was what they did, and it wasn't hurting anyone.

Sam folowed her movements with her eyes as she disassembled his phone and explained in detail how it worked. And from what he knew about how a phone worked, it was correct. But when she got into quantum mechanics and about the rate at which his species' techology progressed, he got confused pretty quickly. The two were clearly not on the same page here.

Before Sam could reply with a flat and utterly confused 'What?', Nix had changed subjects again. She just wanted his name. Now THAT he could answer!

"My name? I'm Sam. That's what most people call me, anyways."

Sam didn't reveal one of the other names he went by. That name was his secret....

Nix smiled brightly once again, extendin her hand in a relaxed manner "Hi! I'm Nix, it's been nice meeting you so far" she said with yet another bright smile and happy eyes. She had made her first friend or at least that's what she thought. She found him interesting, as the first human she had ever met he had an advantage over everyone else.

She kept up her smile and turned to his helmet, gaining a more inquisitive face she liked at it and grabbed it. She then progressed to put it above her head and simply drop it, it clinched onto her head with a rather loud plastic thud. She had only known that t went on your head, smbut she herself had never had to out on any helmet, nor been allowed to. It simply slipped last her head as she was a bit small for it. She stood there for a mement and then said, with a clearly annoyed tone "what is this thing" that thud had been a bit painful, leaving her slightly upset.

She then took off the helmet and handed it to Sam making her emotions obvious with her face having a pouting tine to it though it also had a silvery tint to it now, which was actually how Nix blushed as her blood was silver. she kelt her eyes on the ground thinking she had just looked rather foolish in front of her new friend, she tried to change the subject "So where am I Sam?" she said with a coy, shy and embarrassed tone that was evident in her facial expression and voice.

"Nix," Sam thought as she gave him her name. It figured an alien would have an alien sounding name. It wasn't that odd, though. He watched Nix as she leaned over and grabbed his motorcycle helmet from the ground. She tried to put it on...but it didn't quite work.

"That's my helmet for when I ride my motorcycle. My skull is usually enough to protect my brain from damage, but a motorcycle travels really fast and doesn't provide any protection. So it's for my own benefit to wear that when I ride. Unless I wanna risk cracking open my head."

Nix clearly wanted to change subjects as she handed him back his helmet, which Sam was more than glad to do.

"Where are you? Well, let's start small and work our way up to big," Sam said with a smile as he gestured to the trees surrounding them. "This area is called a park. This park is in the middle of a city. Jump City, to be exact. Jump City is in a country called the United States of America, which is on a continent called North America. North America is in the North-West Hemisphere of planet Earth, the third planet from the sun in it's solar system, located one of the galaxy called the Milky Way's arms...that's all I know, really. So, yeah, that's where you are."

Sam chuckled a little. She asked a question, and boy did he give her an answer.

What was a motorcycle? Better yet how could that hard piece of plastic protect anyone, it certainly hadn't protected her. It should he softer, and fit to everyones head. Not just higher people's. She also wondered why this "motorcycle" didn't provide more protection. That seemed like an easy solution. She couldn't fathom why any one would want to wear that thing, it had even messed up her hair. Making her now quickly running her hands and fingers through her hair.

"mo-tor-cy-cle?" she said, suddenly seeming to stumble over the words. She had turned off her connection to the Internet, having absorbed enough. She didn't want to get a headache. But thanks to the cut connection she had lost direct access to the information. The grammar, the words, the pronunciation. The tens of millions of words and rules would take a few days to be put in order by her computer like brain. Until then she would he a bit less....fluent. By only with larger words or when she tried to talk fast like she just had in talking about the cell phones.

She listened silently as he explained where they were "Jump city? Wait, What's a park? she said with an innocent face, once again confused. The closest she had been to one was her ship's oxygen factory, it was a forest of trees. But they were cybernetic trees and they were fed off starlight. They were pretty dull and barely green.

She looked about at the trees and at the sky, wide eyed and excited a soft smile. She then turned to Sam and looked up and down his frame once more. She then slowly and smoothly raised her arm, pointing at him, then stepped forward poking his chest. "Could you show me around?" she said, with a slightly shy face as she batted her eyelashes coyly. Her voice was slightly with a pleading tone. "please?" she said, flashing a bright smile and clasping her hands in front of her. She wondered what this world was like. She wanted to see it, not knowing how abnormal she looked.

Nix seemed like she was able to pcik up on things rather quickly, but Sam still needed to remember she was, infact, an alien. She had little to no idea how anything in this world worked. He might have gone a bit too fast for her back there. He'd have to back up and elaborate.

"Okay, a motorcycle is essentially a bigger, motorized version of a bicycle, which is really just a metal frame with two wheels that a person uses their feet to propel," Sam said, trying as best as he could to explain it. "You don't really need protection on a bike, since it goes slow, but it helps. But the motor inside the motorcycle makes it go MUCH faster. So it's definately in your best intrest to wear a helmet. Also, the visor covers the eyes, keeping things like dust out of them."

Sam paused for a minute to let that sink in.... and so he could think of how to describe a park to her. Nix was certainly giving his brain a work out. This was probablly the closest he ever felt to being a teacher.

"A park is...well, a part of a city set aside for nature, like trees and plants and such, but also for recreation and entertainment. It's kinda hard to explain," Sam said, stopping as Nix poked his chest and asked for him to show her around Jump City. "Oh, sure, Nix. Follow me!"

Sam led Nix out of the park along the path he had walked, and within a few minutes, the two were back where Sam had parked his bike.

"THAT," Sam said, gesturing to his bike as he walked toward it. "Is a motorcycle."

Sam put on his helmet and climbed ontop of his bike, scooching forward to allow extra room for Nix to climb on too. He looked over to Nix and patted the extra seat, indicating he wanted her to come take a seat.

"Hop on. I'll show you around the city on this."

Items, not the specialty of the robotic girl. She had only searched the web for a few moments and only the importat things. She knew about world leaders, geography, current events and even languages, heck she knew the language from avatar. Not realizing that the language was fake. She was so very confused at what Sam was saying. What was a bike? His explanation of a park was bad but she got the just of it while walking with him tongue motorcycle,"It's nice, shiny, I like it."

As they approached the motorcycle she looked at it with wonder filling her eyes. She waved her sonic screwdriver over it, learning how it was build and through that worked out how it worked. Her eyes brimmed with curiosity as she examined the archaic technology. It was amazing, she specifically liked the over all sleepless of it, grace and power always did compliment eachother so very well.

She ran her hand along the side of it smiling softly. She looked ever so slightly surprised when he sat down and patted the seat. She looked at him skeptically then sat behind him, sliding close to him and then putting her arms around his waist loosely and then said "Do I need a helmet to?" she asked sweetly with a smile, resting her head on his shoulder, placid her mouth just next to his ear. If he listened he could probably hear the gentle ticking of his clockwork companion.

Sam grinned as she said she liked it. He took good care of his bike and appreciated it when people noticed the amount of work he put into it. Nix seemed to be enthraled by it, scanning over it with some strange looking device, the one she had pointed at him with earlier. Getting a look at the bike probablly did a much better job of explaining it than would have ever been able to do.

He felt the weight of the bike shift as she climbed on the bike. He also felt the coldness of her body around his waist and on his shoulder, which, along with her voice and breath right on his neck made him shiver. Texture wise, she felt human, but she was cold to the touch, which was confusing. He was pretty sure she was some sort of mechanical life form, but he didn't want to bring it up to her. That wouldn't be very nice, you didn't just ask a guest if they were a robot or not.

Nix brought up a good point: did she need a helmet? She didn't seem to like wearing it, and he assumed she had a durable metal skeleton under her "skin". Much stronger than his bones, presumably. On the other hand, it was only a guess. Just to be safe, Sam took off his helmet and set it on her head.

"I don't have another helmet, so you can wear mine instead. I'll drive carefully. But hold on tight anyways," he said, tapping on the helmet, smiling at her through the visor.

Sam turned back around and started up the bike, reving up the engine and fliping up the kick stand. The motorcycle carrying the two sped off into the city. Sam had a few ideas of where to take her, but for now, he was just cruising around and letting her take in the sights of Jump City.

If he could've seen her face he would have noticed she was confused as he shivered she riefly wondered if her current form was scary or unattractive on this world, she knew that different species liked different things and shivering was a sign of fear or being uncomfortable. She frowned at the thought. though she also frowned because she would feel bad if she cause her friend to get hurt "But I don't want to let you be unsa-"

She was interrupted as he started going. She felt yer body swing away from the bike as inertia took effect. Her grip tightened around his stomach as she felt like she was going to fall. San would feel her press her body against his and rest her head on his upper back. She didn't want to show that she was scared but she was. Well, more nervous. She wanted to appear braver than that though, she assumed she was this guys first alien. She wanted to seem, well, impressive and not fall short of any expectations.

He arms relaxed ever so slightly as they continued. Though every turn she would tighten her grip, making her nervousness obvious and evident. She became more comfortable later on but didn't really relax. As soon as they stopped she would get off and take off the helmet, looking shot with wonder on her face and in her eyes. "Thank you!" she said, not even knowing where she was yet. She hugged him tightly pressing her face to his chest. She then took a step back and said " so where are are we?" she said sweetly and expectigly. After he finished she would ask another question one less, modest, "I'm just wondering, do, I...look, bad based on this worlds standards?" she said blushing a bright silver. Keeping her eyes on the ground, clearly embarrassed.
