Jailbreak (Kyte/Invite)

Rico smiled gently, stroking Suzuki's cheek briefly when she returned the remark to her. When Suzuki said that they should try to blend in until they were done clearing the floor, Rico gave her a nod of confirmation, and followed after Suzuki. She was the stealth expert, after all. She had certainly never trained for it, and Wrath's curriculum for her didn't contain anything but basic lessons in that field.

Suzuki led them to a small outcropping above, and she smiled, silently following Suzuki up into the spot and huddling close with her, letting their bodies press together. After all, it was hardly their first time being this close to each other. She let her hand rest on Suzuki's waist, enjoying the company as they waited. She put to use what she did know about hiding in plain sight; steadying her breathing and keeping it quiet as the soldiers searched the floor.

When they were ready, Suzuki went for the farther one, which made Rico grin, but she went towards the remaining guard. Suzuki used her lightning powers to help incapacitate them quickly, which in hindsight, probably would have been less risky if she had copied it. But no matter. She approached the guard's flank and then struck quickly, kicking the back of one of their knees to break their balance and cause them to buckle backward. She then delivered a quick right jab right to their head, laying them out on the floor. She smiled wryly and looked to Suzuki to confirm that everything had went well. She nodded, beaming with pride in her lover for coming up with such a good idea, and then started to get changed. Their time was precious here, after all.

Rico was as efficient as ever, even without powers copied that would help. Suzuki was impressed. She was sure that if she hadn't had these powers to work with for years, she'd be rather pathetic, unlike Rico. No time to thing about that, though, Rico was getting changed. That meant a butt needed to be slapped, and Suzuki did just that. After slapping her girlfriend on the rear, Rico would see that Suzuki was acting as if it never happened as she was getting changed herself.

"That worked better than expected!"

She said, a slight giggle to her tone as she pulled the pants on. They were a few sizes too big, but when she tightened the belt it looked natural enough. The vest went on easier, her bust too small to make it tight luckily for her. Quickly, Suzuki tied her hair up and covered it with the helmet so none poked out. Rico was lucky to have such short hair.

"Alright, lets move before they start looking for us."

Suzuki would lead, heading towards the exit first. There was nobody in the stairway, thankfully, but when they stepped out of the building there was at least 20 other soldiers fanned out. One screaming orders.

"Fan out! Search the site, the chopper is patrolling the alleys! You two, take that building!"

Suzuki did her best impression of a soldier and nodded, spinning on her heel with Rico in tow. Freedom was close. They just had to round that corner and run.

When Rico was in the middle of trying to slip some pants on, she felt a healthy smack on her rear, causing her to make an audible (though not to another floor audible, obviously) squeak, red touching her face as she looked back at Suzuki, who acted like she did nothing. She stuck out her tongue at her lightly, grinning, and pulled the clothes on, not fitting perfectly into them either, but was able to manage. She smiled lightly over to Suzuki's giggling.

"Of course. We can do anything together, Suzu." She realized it sounded a little corny after the fact, blinking, but couldn't help to smile as she just accepted it. She put on a helmet as well, and although she didn't have long hair like Suzuki's anymore, she tucked her hair up into it as much as she could anyways. White hair would probably be a heavy indicator to anyone that noticed it.

A soldier was barking orders to almost two dozen soldiers outside. She kept calm, and when the man pointed at them and told them to search a specific building, she nodded with Suzuki and headed towards it. When they got around the corner and there was no one to see them make a break for it, she ran with Suzuki back to where they had parked their car, and would get in, taking off her helmet and catching her breath, looking over to Suzuki. She cracked a grin and started the car, it growling to life before she drove further into the city and far away from this place. She would take off bits of the armor whenever she could.

When they were finally in the clear, they ran towards the car. Perfect! They needed to leave, like ten minutes ago. Suzuki got to the car door and pulled the handle, but it was locked. Damn electric locks! She waited till she heard the sound and tugged again. Locked still, she went too fast. Was she supposed to go before, after, or during the click? She tried before and during... so this time pulled after and it opened.

"Finally... stupid lock."

When she was in and they were starting to drive she let out a loud sigh. That was so stressful. Why were these DOMA guys everywhere? First HOPE then this? It was annoying beyond belief for someone who just wanted to help people.

"Please, keep taking stuff off. It helps me unwind."

Suzuki said with a wink, wiggling dramatically out of her own Kevlar. It was heavy!

"We... might not be able to go home. We're probably wanted. If we hurry, we can pick up some clothes at least..."

Rico couldn't help but giggle lightly at Suzuki's difficulties with the car door. Ever the enemy of technology. But it was always a battle Rico was willing to help her get through. When Suzuki got into the car, they took off with a growl.

She was driving back to their house at a brisk pace, but not enough to get them pulled over or seem suspicious. As she worked her way out of some of the armor, she heard Suzuki's remark and grinned, putting a hand on her leg. "Don't worry darling. I'll help you unwind plenty when we're somewhere safe," she teased, briefly sticking her tongue out at her as they made their way back home. "You're right, Suzu. We'll get everything we need and toss the armor, and then we'll go find a place to stay for the day. Probably a motel." A nice one, at least.

They had literally just left the scene. They should have at least a while to get the things they needed- and it wasn't like they had their names. Maybe their faces, sure, but not enough to immediately know where they lived and properly deploy. Right?

Rico's implication made Suzuki blush a bit as she let her hair down out of the helmet again. Putting her hair up like that wasn't easy when she had so much of it. She put her hand on top of Rico's and smirked. "I'll hold you to that."

As they made it home, it seemed like Rico was right in her thoughts. They weren't around, not yet. They hadn't had time to put names to faces yet, but DOMA seemed to have a lot of resources so it was only a matter of time. They'd need to be quick. Suzuki followed Rico in, going straight for the vault in the basement. The HF blade was the most important thing she had here, after all. She took that, then would go up and back a backpack full of clothes, and grab her favorite teddy bear. Don't call her childish.

"We shouldn't stay long... can't be too sure how long we have. Are you ready?"

Rico took every precaution she could to make sure that they hadn't been beaten to their home, before entering with Suzuki. She was still cautious, but at this point, the goal was to get out of here before DOMA had a chance to catch up to them. While Suzuki went into the basement to get some things of hers, Rico went under their bed to get a duffel bag. It was as close to a bug out bag as she could have gotten. She didn't have new identities for them or anything; she wasn't that resourceful, but she had saved a lot of emergency money in cash, enough to last them a while if they weren't going to be living here.

Then, likewise, she would begin packing enough clothes to last her for a week. Laundry wasn't too expensive, when it came down to it. Finally, she grabbed her laptop and its charger and mouse, and put it in the duffel bag. She smiled lightly to Suzuki when she asked her if she was ready to go. She nodded. "Let's go." She gave her a light peck on the cheek and then would head out to the car with her quickly, starting it and hitting unlock on the fob so Suzuki wouldn't have any trouble getting in. She would put her duffel bag in the back seat and then get into the driver's side.
