XiFeng grins. "Friendly neighborhood phoenix to the rescue!"

Then she blinks. Oh crap. She just revealed what she was. Fear floods her eyes and XiFeng takes a step back. Yami was different. He made her feel safe. She could trust Yami, she could tell him. But this was a stranger. And all strangers, even if they are 'good people' have a chance to be evil. She knew better than anyone. Phoenix's were rare. A very few number of them able to exist at any given time. A single feather was worth a lot on the black market. If Toji connected the dots to her performance at Carnegie Hall and her first name, he would know who she really was. The panic was overwhelming and she ran.

Toji blinks." A phoenix? Co-"Then she backs up, fear in her eyes. The girl turns and runs. The halfling blurs in front of her, speaking soothingly, his eyes kind." Ey,ey....its okay...I don't care what you are, okay? You seem like a decent person, and that's all that matters." He smiles gently." Besides...why would a halfdemonhave any right to abuse others based on their race,eh?"

XiFeng felt fire immediately blare to life when Toji cut her off. He was fast! She couldn't run and that made her scared. But his tone was calm, and he made no threats. Actually, Toji was trying to calm her down. She worked on swallowing her panic. This was the one thing that always got her. No matter what she could pretend to be normal. But it was like a trigger was pulled and she bolted every time. Except for Yami. Yami was different. She felt herself relax with the combo of Toji's soft words and remembering Yami's safety net.

"Sorry, it's an automatic reaction. The last time someone-" The words caught in her throat. She shook her head and glanced at her watch. It was time to go anyways. The festivities would be hard to enjoy after this anyways. "I have to go home. My friend and my adoptee are gonna need help with food preparation that's actually edible."

Toji listens, and nods." I see...its alright. Just know you've got a friend in me,k?I k ow what its like to hurt." He gives her a hug, and steps back, grinning as she had to get back to the her boys." Okay. Nice meeting you. Hope we run into each other again." He grins, then blurs away....
