Belly of the Beast [Open]

And Arachni made his first critical mistake... well, the second one. The first one was not avoiding one of Inferno's punches. The hydrants quickly cooled Inferno down in more ways then one, snapping him out of his rage and also cooling his body down. Now Inferno was... alittle more rational then before, but that wasn't saying much. Inferno once again tore a chunk of the pavement out of the ground, but this time broke it down into two pieces that he then crushed in his fists, making handfuls of concrete. "Dodge this mosquito," Inferno challenged, pulling both arms back and hurling two fistfuls of fast flying concrete that went flying in a 'shotgun' spray to greatly decrease his chances of dodging.

Just in case the bugger avoided it again, Inferno pushed his hands out and sent two continuous streams of fire from his hands, moving them in a way to try and close around Arachni. Steam started to billow out in all directions when the raining water fall on the streams. If enough steam was generated, it could create a kind of 'fog' that Arachni could use to his advantage.

Inferno was not dimwitted enough not to admire Arachni's resourcefulness, heck, now that he had a chance to cool off, Inferno was enjoying himself. He still preferred straight on brawls to cat and mouse, but he wouldn't deny feeling a sense of superiority when he played the role of the cat. He was NEVER the mouse, ever. And that brings us back to the present with the fog. Inferno now having nothing to aim attacks at, was at a loss of what to do now. He couldn't make out much other then the background sound of Jump and his own breathing, and he was out in the open. What to do? "You done already Itsy Bitsy?" Inferno challenged, using every reference to spiders (and small size) to his advantage. A smart person would consider trying to move into a less open space, but Inferno was overconfident that based on what he knew of himself and Arachni, there was nothing the little bugger could do that would seriously effect him.

Assuming Arachni wasn't down or decided to back off finally. Inferno waited, slowly losing patience as he kept an ear and eye open for any slight movement...

Inferno was keeping his guard up on defcon 5, but he still didn't hear anything. So Arachni's ambush was effective in hitting him enough to almost knock him off balance but not enough to completely knock him over as he stumbled, caught himself with his hands, and was promptly back on his feet. "That all you got? I've had papercuts hurt worse then that!" Inferno growled, now vaguely aware of what Arachni was doing as he launched a stream of fire upwards toward one of the buildings. He was still firing blindly, but he had to get lucky as he continued lancing streams of fire from his hands or feet in a fluid almost dance-like motion; standing still was a bad idea clearly. "I'll burn the whole city down before you take me down daddy short legs!" Inferno called out, spinning on his heels and sending two streams of fire flying in all directions. Who needed aim when you could just spam fire?

"Too much fog..." A voice echoed from within the fog, the sound of yelling and combat had attracted someone else. Someone that was monstrous defined. The flames whipped around as flashes and streaks of orange in the fog of war, she watched them, manoeuvred herself closer to the raging inferno that was in many ways, a thing and a person combined as one. It was curiosity that led her here, that, and the panic as people fled the immediate vicinity terror stricken faces about how there was a giant, fire spitting monster in the park, fighting some boy in a costume. If she hadn't been as old as she was, hadn't had the experience that she had, she would have found those cries of fear to be far more strange than they already were.

The flashes grew closer and brighter as she made her way with caution through this blinding fog, the moisture clinging uncomfortably to her skin as she grunted in annoyance. It was one thing to take a bath, to drown your troubles for a moment, to relax. But this was different, it was an annoyance a pesky, petty annoyance that made her groan, moments before the fire washed over her. It was enough of a shock and a surprise to cause her eyes to widen, to almost cause her to forget that she herself was a being of fire and as the flames rolled around her body, distorted her appearance to that of something as black as ash with eyes like red coals.

Whoever did that, well, she would have to thank them for the meal later as moments later the entirety of the incendiary inferno that wrapped around her body like a warm embrace, coalesced into her hand. It became small and compact as she rose it to her mouth and began to chew on it, as if it had a solid, physical form. Her mouth and lips smacking away as she swallowed piece after piece, her amber yellow eyes glowing as the mist began to move towards her before evaporating as the area began to clear up, caused by the quick and excessive increase to her own body temperature; like standing upon the cusp of a river of lava. "Are you a demon? Or are you a dragon? Answer quickly, I am in a hurry."

And Inferno hit someone with his fire, oh well no biggy. It looked like a girl. OH CRAP! Now it was a big deal! The fire did nothing, it's no big deal again. The steam suddenly started to clear up quickly, which was great for Inferno who was getting tired of throwing fire in the dark. It also gave him a better look at Ignis as she approached him. Unlike half the time, Inferno noticed her hair first. Overall, he briefly had a kindred sense looking at her due to the fact she ate his fire. That was definitely handy. "Hey there," Inferno greeted her with a smile, mental gears shifting without a clutch as he didn't forget Arachni so much as.. stopped paying attention to him for the moment. That was a weird question for her to ask though. Too bad Inferno wasn't high on the deduction level.

"Neither. I just make fire like this," Inferno said pushing his hand out toward Arachni and firing off another stream of fire. Ok, so he wasn't ignoring Arachni.

How disappointing, that she should come across not a Dragon, but what looked to be another dragon slayer. How terribly disappointing indeed as she scanned the area before taking another bite out of the sphere of flame, chewed and swallowed. But if he was the monster, where oh where could the costumed one be? she didn't ponder upon it much as she watched the one before her, watched Inferno with a distinct listlessness in her gaze that could only be described as unenthused and distant; lost within her thoughts for the moment. But still the question remained where had the other gone to? Or was it all a panic induced hallucination and this giant of a man was all that existed in the realm of reality? surely that couldn't be right. Right?

"Hello"

But regardless, she couldn't deny the fact that he was capable of emitting blasts of fire; a kindred spirit and judging by the debris and up-heaved ground here and there, a destructive one at that. Weather it was intentional or accidental was up for debate. For now however, she could make use of his pyrotechnical abilities and if he really did have the same set up she did? Maybe teach him a thing or two. "You just make fire?" Such a peculiar answer to her equally strange question, worth investigating? Perhaps, but for now she merely watched as the gout of flame left his hand and travelled towards.... the costumed one. Ah, so he is real! the costumed boy, who now had a gout of flame aimed for him, he did exist.

But that wasn't a real flame, not yet any ways. Due for improvement, as she.... finished off the last of the fire in her hand, swallowed it down like it was a tasty morsel before looking up at the spider boy once again before raising her arm as a whorl of flame enveloped it, took on the shape of a dragons head. "Perhaps you would like assistance in removing the insect?"

"Well I can also break things very well," Inferno replied to Ignis' first question. Flexing one of his arms to indicate, "Hey, I'm super strong!" Her help him fry the insect? Normally Inferno would have said no, but Arachni was proving to be quite the thorn in his side, and had also ruined his date before it got started. Plus he wouldn't deny the possible thrill of seeing a female pyro in action.

But before he could reply, he was suddenly shot repeatedly with... well, Inferno's first thought was too scary to repeat. He had been too distracted with Ignis to really notice the sudden shadow on the ground, or look up where Spider-Girl presumably started her ambush. Needless to say, Inferno's face was nailed which prevented him from seeing clearly, or replying to Spider-girl. Actually, moving at all seemed to be an issue with his joints webbed. Inferno mumbled something as he slowly managed to reach his face (fighting the webbing all the way using his super strength) where he began to pull as hard as he could.

Really, she expected him to explain himself but she nails him in the face with white goop. There is an audible rip as Inferno finally manages to tear the webbing off his face, followed by him yelling, "SONOFA-" he yelled wincing slightly. His face still felt sticky... he just hoped none of it got in his hair. "First, it's kind of hard to talk to people when their face is covered in goop," Inferno replied simply, struggling against the rest of the webbing for a moment before creating fire in his hands. Feeding it and spreading the flames across his body in an attempt to burn off the rest of the webbing. Which Inferno should have probably thought was fire proof based on Arachni's webbing. But Inferno was beyond such logic.

"Second, hey pretty lady," Inferno greeted her casually. Oh right, she had asked for him to explain himself. That should be easy enough to do. "All that guy's fault. He saw me put a dent in a car that didn't wait for me to pass and has been stalking me ever since. He even ruined my date! All of this damage I did trying to get rid of him could have easily been avoided if he had just left me the hell alone. But no! He HAD to keep stalking me like a creeper cause he obviously had nothing better to do but ruin other people's dates," Inferno explained in his... own special little way. Ironically he wasn't lying... though he was exaggerating certain parts. The part where he put a dent in a car was totally true though.

"Hmm, right," Ignis was for the most part unimpressed by his bluster and boisterous behaviour. Breaking things was not a desirable trait in anyone, even if she could break things as easily as he could. It wasn't always best to abuse ones strength or show off and for the most part, she stood there and listened, her right arm still clasped securely within that whorl of dragons fire. Before she had a chance for any form of pre emptive strike, several wads of white goo hit Inferno and that brief moment saw Ignis raise an eyebrow in curious amusement. How peculiar, a new arrival enters the fray, one that seems to bare the same crest of the spider as the boy, she mused for the moment, bringing flaming hand up to her chin, a finger stretching out and scratching her cheek in wonderment at this turn of events.

Perhaps investigating this was indeed a fortuitous idea after all. She could readily see what this world had to offer if the encounter came to blows. And she had a gut feeling it would certainly come to blows one way or another. For now, however she maintained her vigil off to the side of Inferno, the only movement from this point on, coming from the flames wrapped around her arm as they licked at the air, seemingly alive with a mind of it's own and her eyes, as she watched and listened to the argument. Scanning between the voices of Inferno, Arachni and Spider girl. "I suppose it could have been worse, he could be me." As she muttered low under her breath, those amber yellow eyes came to lock onto Spider-girl, her face as serene as an undisturbed pond.

Before her gaze turned towards where Arachni was that is. She would deal with him afterwards, that much was certain in her mind.
