| ooc: sorry it's been a while, you didn't think I'd just up and left the topic didja? And I like the cheesy wording at the end.
ic: Nighthawk looked up, a thin eyebrow raised enough to be just visible behind his sunglasses. While Nighthawk could have been able to block or even parry and counterattack in the darkness or maybe in the light, he was used to shadows, rarely going out in day or even residing in a lit room, and the constant flashing of the light which was casting blaring red light one second and pitch black the next brought a considerable amount of pain to his eyes, even through the sunglasses, and he was forced to close them as he gritted his teeth. Through sheer luck, he happened to reel back in pain and the kick missed, though as he rubbed his eyes with his left hand, the pistol barely dangling from the same hand, he immediately leaned forward again, doubling over. He took the punch in the temple and was sent sprawling to the ground. Nighthawk staggered to his feet, surprisingly having maintained a grip on his pistol. The frame of Nighthawk's sunglasses was bent, and he fiddled with them for a moment before he could get them to stay put on his face. | |

| As the lighting continued to flash after JaK landed the hit, his confidence improved. He could see Zack was still down in the glimpses of red light and knew he had to keep the pressure on this guy or else he'd fall victim to those shockingly sharp claws again; or worse that pistol. So after sending Night Hawk back, Sage would land hard on the ground. His metallic heels making the ground buckle from the force of his drop and then within the instants of the multiple flashes, he would see his target adjusting his glasses. JaK still using the mixture of shadows and light to confuse his movements, would then dart for Night Hawk; emitting yet another fierce battle cry. And as the darkness would flash in out, one moment the boy could be seen making his run at the foe and wihtin another sequence of no light to red light, he could be seen in the air yet again! Coming at the assassin with his legs extended straight out. It would appear during the inbetween period of flashing light, he had done an acrobatic maneuver or a front flip if you will and while in the mdist of his tucked roll, he opened up; causing him to fly at his opponent in an arc like angle. The idea was to try and crush the guy by dropping on top of him, decapitating the man, or atleast hold him down. In close quarters combat, his speed advantage would be lessened, which is excactly what JaK needed to take from him to win. Meanwhile, Maelis would run out onto the streets screaming for help. She was looking for some kind of authoritive figure to take back with her to stop the fighting.
"Somebody, please HELP. People are dead inside, police ANYBODY!" OT: Nah I didn't and thanks, feel free to wound JaK by the way. He has a healing factor a sfast as Spider-man's, which isn't that quick; but he'll be ok after a while, so serious wounds aren't an issue. |

| Nighthawk staggered, rubbing his head. From an observer's point of view, it would appear that he was seriously wounded or stunned. Though this was not the case. True, the blow had hurt, and had it not been for his glasses absorbing a small amount of the blow he would probably be bleeding, however it wasn't the worst he had suffered, and the A.I. in his head allowed him a bit of an iron will that kept him fighting when he should be unconscious. He continued his feint, waiting patiently for JaK to fall into his trap. If he had guessed right the boy should follow up with another attack. Nighthawk sneered as he watched JaK leap at him, shading his eyes with his talon while pretending to rub his head with his left hand. "JaK be nimble, JaK be quick..." He muttered as JaK landed hard on the ground. "JaK jump over the candle stick..." JaK began his run, and Nighthawk's thin sneer widened a fraction. It would seem the boy was falling for his trick. "JaK jump high, JaK jump low..." The titan was in the air, having launched himself at Nighthawk, who snarled and rose to his feet, stepping aside and thrusting his claw up at JaK at the last possible second. "JaK jumped up and burnt his toe!" Assuming JaK didn't pull some crazy aerial acrobatics, Nighthawk would be out of harm's way and JaK's momentum would land him on the outstretched talon. As he rose, Nighthawk leveled his pistol. He had had enough of that irritating light, and the projector exploded in a brilliant fireball as he squeezed the trigger. | |

| As Sage fell towards Nighthawk he was certain in his head, that his attack would land and that would be the end of it; another baddy in the books for Titans East. Sadly, thi was not the case; for as JaK drew near, in the moment of a red flash he could see Nighthawk move out of the way just as fast as usual. How could this be? JaK had hit him with a direct blow that could have crippled a baby elephant. It was in that same fraction of a second, that he realized he and Zack again had more in common than just the makers of their metallic frame and weapons. They also had that damn enhanced durability from their metal or was it that AI thingy Zack had mentioned earlier. In any case, as Night Hawk avoided and pointed his gun at the projector. The bullet fired would stop the flashing permanently and put the entire room into darkness. Although, the sound of a knife scraping against metal could be heard shortly afterwards; followed by a shrill shriek and a glow of electricity. The talon had dug itself into Sage's upper abdomen, just in between two of his ribs. To stop the flow of electricity from barbecuing him like Zack, the boy would hastily dispell his armor and then drop to the floor writhing in pain as Night Hawk removed the claw. All was quiet now, JaK had nothing to say or even could say at this point. He had drastically underestimated this guy or thing the entire time.
Elsewhere, Mae was approaching the room now with police officers, who didn't quite believe her story at first. A guy with a pistol and steaming metal hand fighting mutant teenagers. RIGHT, obviously this kid had too much popcorn during the movie and was just a little over excited; but in any case the men humored her. It was close to Christmas after all and even the crazies deserved a present. Instead of three men in blue accompanying her, however, only two would follow. |

| As Mae appeared in the doorway, she and the two officers she stood behind were greeted with a terrible sight. The usher's corpse was lying in a mangled heap and his blood was splattered on the floor, walls and ceiling. Zack writhed in agony against the wall as the heat continued to spread, only conscious because of a sub-directive in his unactivated A.I. that kept him from passing out, though it wouldn't keep him awake for long. Nighthawk dropped JaK with a heavy thud, turning to eye the newcomers with renewed hatred. "It seems I've broken all my toys, just as well as they made too much noise. Now it seems I've received some more, just as I was getting bored." Nighthawk stood, blood dripping from his talon as he slowly walked towards the officers, who drew their weapons. "Freeze! We will open fire!" Nighthawk sneered as he walked closer. He was within a few feet, and the cops took aim and shot. They missed. Both cops emptied their magazines at the advancing Nighthawk, but it was if they were shooting at a specter. Nighthawk dodged at a speed faster than they could see and the sound his movements made were hard enough to here on a still night, much less over gunfire. To anyone watching, it looked like Nighthawk was calmly walking forwards while bullets passed straight through him as if he was a ghost. Nighthawk leered before them as the telltale click of the hammer dropping down on an empty chamber echoed twice throughout the hallway. There was a brief moment of terror before Nighthawk calmly ripped one officer's face off, tossing the shredded scrap of flesh, gore, and bone at Mae's feet. Whirling around, he shoved his talon through the others chest. Pulling the choking man close, Nighthawk glared into his eyes as the light began to fade. "I'd rip your heart out and show it to you, but sadly hearts are too squishy and won't come out as anything but goo. At least when I grab them that's true, I don't know if it's the same with you." Nighthawk dropped the man, and turned to face Mae, a look of bored curiosity crossing his face. "And you, why so special? Why would my baby brother save such a worthless vessel?" Nighthawk pondered his next move as he studied the terrified Mae. On one hand, he was having such a great time. He had finally found Zack and could drag him back to the complex at his leisure. He had dealt with the fool who had stood in his way, and he had dealt with the two idiots who decided to interfere. The only remaining witness was the girl. His cruel desire to torture had not quite been satisfied. However the fight had taken a lot out of him. He hated to admit it, and likely never would outside within his own twisted mind, but he was wearing down. He doubted he would be able to keep up his level of speed much longer. He pinned Mae to the wall by slamming his forearm to her throat and pressing. Not hard enough to prevent her form breathing altogether, but enough to restrict her airflow significantly. he was oblivious to all around him, including Mae as he pondered killing her swiftly, allowing him to rest but depriving him of a rare moment of "fun," or having his fun but risking someone else showing up and having to fight without rest. | |

| As Mae was held agasint her will and she looked into Nighthawk's demented face; she would try to scream out, but he would cover her mouth as she did so to quiet her. His pointed metallic fingertips would gently graze her face as he did this. Then he would slightly remove his hand, as if wondering if she was dumb enough to try that again. No, Maelis wasn't. She knew not to try and make a scene or she'd be silenced just as fast as those cops who mocked her. She would start to beg for her life at this point, really too scared to cry; but her pleas seemed to fall on deaf ears. This man was like in his own little world, thinking and only really giving notice too himself. It was at this time that the doors of two theaters would open down the hall and people would start spilling out. One group was from a movie that had just finished and the other was from all the displeased customers that were in JaK & Mae's movie. Sadly once the projector was shot, the chances of them seeing the feature they wanted went down the drain. As the crowds started to head that way, Mae desperately struggled now and contemplated tryign to yell for help again She doubted he'd kill a whole crowd of people over her, but then again he might. Meanwhile, Sage was still concious and was crawling towards where he saw Zack land after the shot. As he reached the fallen titan, he felt his body and then noticed Zack was COOKING!?!
"Huh, is metal is absorbing the heat from that bullet like an oven."
Sage would say aloud as he noticed his pain, although Zack always seemed to be smiling. It was at this point JaK knew he had to give aid. As he placed his palm on Zack's metal and incased soley that palm with the material. Touching it burned his fingers for a few moments until he armored up the limb and then dug it down into the teens body where he saw the shrapnel from the bullet lodged and yanked it out with his enhanced strength. Then tosses the burning peace of metal to the side as so Zack could cool down. JaK was still losing blood and the more he moved about, the faster he bleed. |
