These are the Stars that are Closest to Me (paige)

"I know this is probibly a stupid thing to say but I don't realy know any of the names I kinda have a limited knowlage for school stuff having missed 8 years of it."

She said feeling a little embarassed.

Hotwire was a little confused when she said she didn't know the names... but understood that he'd have trouble if he missed so much time of education. He didn't feel like bothering her with it.

"Oh... okay."

He looked over at claira, then back at the sky. Being out in the bay, and at the top of the tower, meant a completely enveloping view of the stars when there wasn't any moon.

Hotwire began thinking to himself 'She's beautiful... I mean it... it's beautiful. the stars are. Crap... even in my own mind I fail.'

"Great now my stupidity is showing" Claira looked at him and couldn't help but smile. "You know hes kinda cute.... CRAP IM STARING! QUICK SAY SOMETHING!"

"Sooo uhhh I was thinking about goin full time hero after this year of school when I hit 18 my grades are so bad I'm not getting into any collages anyways."

"Aaaaaand I pointed out that I'm stupid again"

"Don't worry about it. And besides... if you need a place to live... you know if the orphanage thing doesn't work, you can stay at the tower."

Hotwire really didn't want to make her feel bad... she was pretty much the only girl who hadn't rejected him, tried to kill him, or both.

"Wow that would be so cool living here but if for any unbelivable reason the collage Victoria made me apply for adcepts me I'll make sure I'll vist you everytime I can."

she said as she looked at him smiling.

Hotwire looked at the stars for a few more seconds, unaware that claira was staring at him.

Then he glanced in her direction, and noticed her looking at him. He looked her in the eyes for a few seconds as his cheeks turned red a bit. He looked her in the eyes... she looked happy... but her eyes still seemed a bit sad. They were beautiful eyes.

He decided... then and there... under the stars.

'That's it... I'm going to ask her out if it's the last thing I do. She deserves some happiness... and I seem to make her happy... right?'

Claira smiled at him and narrowed her eyes a second.

"Are you blushing again or did you eat somemore of that way too hot pizza."

She said treing to make a joke.

'dang... I forgot that she can have the night vision of an owl."

Hotwire sighed, realizing he had been caught.

"Oh, I'm just easily flustered that's all...

Hotwire laid back and closed his eyes... within about 2 minutes, he began nodding off.

Claira turned from him back to the stars and looked at each one telling stories to herself in her head about each on for about 30mins and started to get tired.

"Hey Hotwire I have to head back to the..."

She looked at him and saw he was sleeping and smiled. Claira put her mask back on she then would keep poking him until he go back up so she could tell him she was going.

"Hotwire I gotta go..... Hotwire..... Hotwie wake up real quick!"

Within a couple of seconds of her shaking him, Hotwire sat up straight, his eyes shooting open.

"Huh? What'd I miss?"

Hotwire looked over at claira and sheepishly put his hand behind his head.

"Oh... sorry claira."

Claira smiled at him brightly.

"Nah it's cool I just wanted to let you know I'm heading back to the orphanage cause its getting late."

Claira hugged him.

"Thanks again I'll see you later I'd beter get some sleep so I dont get yelled at for sleeping furing class again."

Claira stood up shooting out hawk wings and slowly started to fly up into the air.

When claira hugged him again, he blushed again.

"Well... see you around then..."

Hotwire was going to go back to his scope, but had to turn around one last time.

"Oh claira... wait..."

Now hotwire was going to ask if she wanted to go to a movie or something... but he had never gotten this far before, and so sort of choked on his words.

"Sleep well"

At this... hotwires blush became greater than before.

Once she was gone... hotwire looked at his scope again... its auto tracking feature kept M53 in perfect focus...

"Couldn't begin to hold a candle to her eyes."

With that, hotwire began breaking down his gear, and prepared for bed.

She waved goodbye as she flew off and yelled.

"YOU TOO!"

As she flew off.
