Who: JaK and Honest
What: The military offers the Titans a deal to clear their names from criminal charges.
Where: A military base near Jump City. The office of General Whitberg.

______________________________

General Whitberg sat behind his large steel desk. As large as the desk was, it was dwarfed by the giant man. He stood 6'8", and appeared to be extremely overweight. His appearance was deceitful, however. One did not become a general of the military, much less a secret branch of special operations, without being quite dangerous.

Whitberg took a sip from his hot chocolate and stared at the two "guests" he had in his office. They weren't restrained in any way, mostly because he doubted normal restraints would do any good. One was a shapeshifter, the other a superhuman brawler.

They were perfect.

"I'm glad you've decided to hear me out, Liev and Jak. You see, you've done some pretty bad things, you Teen Titans. Now, don't try to defend yourselves. Convincing me of your innocence will do nothing. I don't really care who you've killed or what you've stolen. What you want to do is clear your names, and I have a way to do that. Innocent or not, if you perform this task for me, I will make sure evidence arises that 'proves' you in the right. This is not a mission for children. Millions of lives will weigh in the balance of your actions. Well? Are you interested?"

PostSubject: Re: Want to Make A Deal? (Honest and JaK)   Want to Make A Deal? (Honest and JaK) Icon_minitimeThu Sep 22, 2011 10:04 pm

JaK sat in the chair with his arms folded as the man talked, looking up at the ceiling while his long gangly legs were spread out and stretched near the foot of his desk. His facial expression looked as if he was tuning out the General, but he was indeed hanging on every word. After all this was a serious matter. The Titans had been framed, both branches it would seem. They had footage of recently revived Ben 10 stealing from Star Labs and proof of Stone murdering some archer chick. These two acts by itself were serious matters to the point that if it had not been the Titans being accused of it, they probably would've looked into the matters themselves to bring those responsible to justice.

"Heh."

JaK chuckled as he spoke of the illegal activities they had been involved in. To be perfectly...well honest (No pun intended), JaK alone had done enough crimes in his past life to add up to a bigger sentence than half the crooks he put behind bars. Although, he did try to counter balance this by saving as many lives as possible.

To his right sat Liev...Eh, errr something?? JaK didn't really know too much about Honest. He tried to stray away from the guy as much as possible. Mainly because he was the polar opposite of Sage, despite their very similar backgrounds of loosing family members it would seem. Where JaK loved to brawl and do very masculine actives; he rarely ever saw this guy in a skirmish, on top of that he had rather unmanly tendencies such as cross dressing. Nonetheless this wasn't about him or Liev, it was about clearing his teams name. He had been selected to be the one to take the burden of clearing their name. Mainly because Zack and Lance weren't in positions to do so. The government was apparently always on Silent's bad side and Lance Moore was a wanted felon. Therefore, JaK Sage and Honest were next in line to mend things with the government of their country. If not they could be deemed terrorists or Liev here could be revoked as a citizen and attemptedly deported, as well as other things, such as looking up JaK's past record in Gotham. A hard feat for any cop seeing as all evidence and records of his existence burned with his family memories, but for secret branches of the government he was sure they could find something on him.

"Like we have a choice, right?"

JaK would then sit correctly in his chair, and looked at the man with his black and yellow eyes. His arms still folded as he spoke the next few words, not really approving of being anyone's lap dog but if it got Toji, Brianna, and Scope out of fire for crimes they weren't even around to be apart of...so be it.

"Let's make things clear, I don't need a pep talk about how important missions are. My day job consists of keeping people alive 24/7. Also, I'm not your dog and were not your personal weapons. If it was just me you were after I'd tell you guys to go to hell. That being said, I'm not killing anyone in the name of the good ol' US of A."

JaK hadn't managed to murder anyone yet in his entire career of being a superhero or being a street rat and he didn't plan on starting now.

General Whitberg chuckled. "You always have a choice, JaK. A right choice, and a wrong choice."

JaK then said that he wasn't the government's dog and wouldn't assassinate anyone.

"Well said. Believe me, JaK, if we wanted someone killed, we wouldn't be sending you. Your skills are much better used elsewhere."

The general looked at Liev, waiting for an answer from the man.

PostSubject: Re: Want to Make A Deal? (Honest and JaK)   Want to Make A Deal? (Honest and JaK) Icon_minitimeFri Sep 23, 2011 9:11 pm

The actor couldn’t help but to smile mischievously, and––like always––seemed to be displaying the wrong emotion at the wrong time; today it was profane amusement. First, he found working with JaK absolutely HILARIOUS, not to mention the fact that this man, right in front of them, was the perfect epitome of a suit, only “tailored,” per say, even further to represent the American people as a whole with his large figure. Sure, Liev knew that all stereotypes weren’t true (after all, he was a full-blooded German, and he was certainly not a Nazi) but he would grab at anything that could make the name tag of this mission’s statement not so “stately.” Obviously Feds were not Liev’s cup of tea, and the foreign bitterness of a Teen Titan fairly well-known for being quite brash but very skilled in combat meant this mission was definitely going to be a tough chew; nevertheless, he owed it to Model Eleven and both teams. And that would be his drive to get the Titans’ Names back under the Belt of Justice.

And thus, another façade was quite in order.

“Yes, sir. Our ears are very open, I will say, but with all due respect, ‘interested’ is not something that comes to my fancy very often, and if ever so, very, very, sparingly,” Honest answered, folded his arms, and leaned back into his chair––almost as if to mock both Whitiberg and JaK’s own postures––then continued, “It’s our duty, put simply. However, don’t take us for fools or underestimate our powers, potential, or prospects. It’s obvious that men of Government status, whether it be foreign or domestic, have had some nasty run-ins with our kind. I would request that you keep your heads out of our business and our way, and I’m sure that some of that head-knocking and heads-rolling will be aptly extinguished from both sides, sir––all in a metaphorical sense, of course.” The actor nodded, implying emphasis on the word “head,” then reached into the pocket of his slick black trousers, pulled out a pack of Marlboros, and grabbed a cigarette––something he wouldn’t usually do––but paused and said:

“Not all of us are so ‘teen-ish’ as may we look or may seem to military men like you, General, but I guarantee you that we’ve seen and experienced quite a lot. It has either made us or broken us, but either way, either or, both JaK and I are here and at your service. But first, do you mind?” Honest gestured to the cigarette in his left hand with a little nod of his head, and smiled. “I didn’t bring a lighter on me––I would have had to give it up when I went through security, anyhow. I felt compelled to start, though,” he said, “when I heard that this mission would be one right up my ally, if I correct in saying so. It’s been a while since I’ve been in a long-running show, and even the best of we youngsters need a little stimulation now and then. But I’m twenty-one, in case you haven’t read my file––which I’m sure you have––so you won’t have another law-breaking Teen Titan on your hands.”

He chuckled at his own caustic joke, then sighed, looked over to JaK, then back at Whitiberg. The masked-shapeshifter’s golden eyes seemed muted, almost overcast with dark shades of gray escaping from his deep-black pupils. Liev didn’t want to do this: that was the truth, but there was no lie to his promise that the job would get done.

He just needed to start believing it.

General Whitberg smiled. "I don't mind if you smoke. Actually, it will help you on your mission." Whitberg pulled a manilla folder out of his desk and laid it on the edge closest to Liev. When opened, the folder would be seen to contain a photo of a man in a strange military uniform. He had black skin, a bald head, and piercing green eyes. He wore a red beret that complemented his red and black uniform.

"This is Marlo Suda. He is the leader of a terrorist organization in South Africa. They are called the Red Dagger. For the last five years, Suda has been the bane of South Africa, and is responsible for thousands of deaths in several nations. He recently tried to take over his homeland, but was defeated and captured. If the story stopped here it would be a happy ending."

Whitberg flipped to the next page in the folder, showing a photograph of a large explosion destroying an office complex. "The Red Dagger is still a huge threat, as they proved in a recent attack in France. Their terror knows no boarders, and they have threatened to detonate 100 similar bombs simultaneously if Marlo Suda is not released from U.N. custody in a week."

The general looked Liev in the eyes. "This is where you come in. You are going to impersonate Marlo Suda, and will then be 'released' back to the Red Dagger. Your first mission will be to ensure that those 100 bombs are not detonated. Your next mission will be to destroy the Red Dagger from the inside out."

Whitberg looked at JaK. "This will be a very dangerous mission, so you will be escorting Marlo Suda as his trusted bodyguard. Your story will be that Suda hired you while he was still in prison. Do not trust anyone in the Red Dagger. Many of the terrorists might want to take the role of leader for themselves. Suda's life may be in danger from his own organization. Your job is to keep Liev alive."

Whitberg pushed the folder another inch forward, implying that it was for them to keep. "All the information you need is in there, including a personality profile on Suda. Unless you have any other questions, you are free to go."

JaK raised an eyebrow at the general and then looked to Honest.

"Actually, do you mind if I have one of those to. Since were going on a suicide mission I don't see a need to keep my personal health from getting any worse."

This snarky remark was to imply that JaK thought this was a rather dumb plan. If they were caught the chances of them getting out alive were slim to none. They'd be in a foreign land, not that american citizenship would've matter much to terrorist anyway, with probably no back up and as skilled as Liev was with his powers, there's still no possible way he could know this man's and entire history. Such as if he gave his underlings secret codes or a way for them to check if it was really him. JaK was indeed ye' of little faith, then again, he had never really worked with Honest; so maybe he was just underestimating his Russian counterpart.

"Will we have anyway of contacting you or are we going in dead in the water? Also, am I supposed to make up my own profile? Not to mention I didn't even finish the fourth grade much less learn any type of South African lingo? Not to complain, but international espionage is a little new for me seeing as I've never even left the East Side of the US. Also, I assume if were caught we can't expect any back up or you guys to even acknowledge we were ever even there, right?"

JaK was very sarcastic in his tone, don't get him wrong, he'd still do it. But he just wanted to make sure there that they had no life-lines once so ever before he signed himself off to this. His hand still extended to receive a cigarette.

"You will have no contact with me or anyone else here. You must be completely invested into this operation, and we cannot allow the risk of someone intercepting such a communication. You will not be allowed to tell your fellow Titans about this project until after it is complete."

The general pulled out a small suitcase and handed it to JaK. It contained the supplies for making a false identity. "You will remake your identity, but only your name needs to change. JaK Sage would be recognized as a Titan. We will make false ID's for you with whatever name you want. You should also alter your appearance, if even in a small way. A different hair cut, perhaps? Your background shall be the same as it truly is. You grew up on the streets of the eastern states, and now you work for Suda as his bodyguard. Your motive is cash. Your powers are the same, as is your personality. Your 'lingo' will not match that of South Africa, but that will be fine. Honest should have no problem with the accent, but you don't need such perfection."

"I figured as much."

JaK received his response as to if they were caught they were dead? And the answer was pretty much, yes. Although, right afterwards Whitberg pulled out a suitcase filled with things that would aid JaK in creating a new false persona. Sage was rather intrigued with the idea for a moment, but then the General told him he had to remain pretty much the same and really only needed to shift the whole being Titan thing and anything that could get JaK recognized as one.

"Aww, that sucks. I was going to make myself worth a billion, but I guess you're right. Haha, maybe I should wear some bronzor?"

JaK was joking of course, but was also serious about the gray skin thing being a tell. However, in Africa the Red Dagger probably would just assume that he had gray skin due to his powers. This was going to be difficult to get into either way. Nevertheless, JaK was sure he could pull off a second identity and he had minimal trust in Liev to be competent to say the least. So all and all, this plan could work.

"A new haircut, eh?"

Not happening.

OOC: Timeskip Time! Hope you guys don't mind. Very Happy

BIC: The skyscrapers of Johannesburg reached towards the sky as symbols of mankind's achievements. Of course, there were problems in the city. Unemployment was high, and homeless people walked the streets in the shadows of technological wonders.

Through this city drove an armored car. The bland, steel-colored vehicle turned and parked in a large, clean garage. The driver got out, brushed his black hair out of his red eyes, and opened the back door. Out from the backseat came the man who appeared to be Marlo Suda, and his bodyguard.

"I'm so glad you're finally home, Mr. Suda. You may call me Butter Fingers. May I ask who your guest is?" The driver asked this with a hint of evil curiosity in his eyes. Fingers had been hired as a meta-human mercenary by the Red Dagger. He wore a black suit and white gloves. He personally didn't care about the Red Dagger's cause in the least, but it was good money.

PostSubject: Re: Want to Make A Deal? (Honest and JaK)   Want to Make A Deal? (Honest and JaK) Icon_minitimeThu Oct 06, 2011 4:24 pm

OOC: ALRIGHT, LET'S DO THIS THING!

bic:
Honest was quite proud of his quick and fine handiwork for the mask of the Marlo Suda, especially under the pressure and severity of his and JaK’s mission; it was a foreign task for Liev to play such a serious role, both literally and figuratively. Along with that intimidating notion, the actor could now shake the knowledge of his almost too realistic portrayal of Backlash back at a Teen Titans Central training session; his brain seemed to create a new, false allegation that Honest had truly become the rebel “hero.” If that happened while he was wearing Marlo Suda’s face... well, there was no telling what kind of discord and danger both he, JaK, the US government, and the fate of the Teen Titans could possibly face.

Presently, Liev had enjoyed the ride to this region of Africa despite the daunting task ahead of them––it was such an interesting country, where “savage land” met the “diplomacy” of Great Britain. It seemed the perfect place to hatch and raise such a terrorist group as the Red Dagger, who’s reputation was well-enriched with the dictatorship-like leadership and wild as hell tactics for getting their dirty work done, their enemies decimated, and the world at their feet. Such a country, such a bipolar existence...

What a paradox, indeed, Honest had often thought, something that I thrive off of, the contradiction that makes me such a hard person to peg... perfect. Perfect for success, even if bloody, trying, and destructive as it may be.

He, now standing a perfect replica of Mr. Marlo Suda––leader of the Red Dagger, reaper of chaos, a demon for trickery and details––squinted in the bright African sun as he puffed on a fine Cuban cigar, and placed his shades smartly upon his wide nose. Suda was a rather ugly man, but not in the way as to be easily ignored or be the subject up much heads-turning-away; his eyes were deeply sunken and almost so bright a hue of green that they could be mistaken for nuclear waste, his lips were rather large and made his protruding jaw look even more inhuman, and the two crescent-shaped scars that lined his jawline and to just below the base of his mouth only furthered this brutish, imposing appearance. He had large hands and small feet, and his back was so crooked, yet bizarrely upright––hardly mistakable for anyone else in the compound they now entered; JaK Sage and Liev Aleksandr Ehrlichmann, metahumans and Titans alike, but persons there perhaps could be no greater opposite a twosome. Both on a mission, both to avenge crimes not committed and friends furiously framed, to right untrue wrongs and set the records straight of those who brought the hand of justice upon those with morals and ideals gluttonously askew and unscrupulous.

Honest frowned at Butter Fingers, his interest dropped the moment the uncannily named henchman opened his obviously sarcastic and poorly-thought out mouth, first greeting the two with sickening politeness and then questioning the authority, or rather, ‘personal’ life of his superior.

Marlo Suda paused, took another puff of his cigar, and blew the smoke-cloud in Butter Fingers’ face. “You may ask, ‘Buttar Fingars’, but you insult me with your dim-witted inquiries of something so trivial as names when you should already know that in this business, they mean nothing more than, say, if I were to pretend I gave a damn about blowing off your head right now––I don’t have time nor the desire to deal with idiots; the only thing they’re good for is blowing themselves up or running around like a targeted fawn. But, I will give you this, Buttar Fingars: you’ve got moxy, and that’s something I like.”

Marlo pulled the edges of his suit-jacket down and cracked his neck, knuckles, then back.

“Well, are you going to escort me, or shall I call someone competent to do my bidding?”

Butter Fingers smiled and bowed his head in apology. He didn't fear death, and freely admitted that he was insane, but this man did have his respect. Suda didn't mess around with what was unimportant.

"Very sorry, Sir," Fingers said, his voice just as suave as ever. "I will escort you to the Inner Circle. They are all very eager to see you again."

Fingers turned gracefully and opened a sliding door. He then walked through, past two armed guards, and continued down the long hallway.

PostSubject: Re: Want to Make A Deal? (Honest and JaK)   Want to Make A Deal? (Honest and JaK) Icon_minitimeFri Oct 07, 2011 8:13 pm

Honest glanced at JaK with uncertainty of what they had really gotten themselves into; he had no clue what this “Inner Circle” was. It was a good thing that the actor had an impeccable memory, especially with names and faces, but the underlying pressure of making the pre-established relationships between Suda and his colleagues/accomplices run as smoothly––or rather, roughly as they were before the real Suda was captured remained true.

Then, a thought struck Liev... well, more a warning. What if there are any telepaths that are working for this guy!? The notion made him shudder, and the file that described Marlo Suda as “a man with no unnatural powers” became even more ominous; if Suda was a metahuman, Liev had yet to find out.

Great, the Teen Titan said to himself, another puzzle, another possible way to solve something imperatively impossible... the game’s afoot/

Want to Make A Deal? (Honest and JaK) Bleach11

As they stepped out of the backdoor of the van, JaK walked next to Suda AKA Honest or rather Liev in his new get up. JaK had to trade in his urban clothes and style for some cargo pants that sunk into some leather combat boots and a belt that kind of matched Superboy's lower attire. Then up top he wore a white tight fitting tank top with a trench coat over it that extended all the way down to his knees and could wrap around sort of like a robe, which was an odd replacement for his usual short leather jacket. Then of course he had to have contacts, wear 24 hour make up all over his body to hide his palish complexion, and he slightly cut his hair as well as wore a choker around his neck. Finally, he covered his old scar with a block tattoo that had another random one under it, which would heal themselves in a month or so like they had never even been there before. In addition, he had to create a new scar under the other eye as if he had been clawed by a tiger paw.

This new persona was known no longer as JaK or Sage of the Teen Titans, but Fusion. friend and personal bodyguard of Marlo Suda. They had formed a strong bond in prison and upon Marlo's release he too had been bargained for by Mr. Suda. The idea being that this man was one of the only people Suda could trust. JaK was also made to look a bit older around ages 19 or 20 instead of 16 or 17, he definitely had the height and build to match, which was a side effect of being a warrior teen who engaged in intensive combat regularly.

A man that called himself, Butter Fingers, then introduced himself to JaK and Honest. Automatically, JaK didn't like his vibe and when he asked who he was Sage was going to reply, but instead Suda spoke for him. Showing right away that he wanted to a set his dominance and position over anyone who asked too many questions of them. Smart move by Honest, so for now JaK or Fusion kept his mouth shut. Like any good bodyguard would and just watched for any signs of trouble. Although, Liev seemed to be a bit nervous as the Inner Circle was mentioned. Fusion gave him a quick glancing nod as if to say he could do this. However, to anyone else this would seem like a regular nod from a bodyguard to make sure his boss was feeling ok. They continued to follow behind Butter Fingers, no doubt the teenage actor was preparing to face the Inner Circle and contemplated how his character would act. Meanwhile, JaK who had the easier job at the moment watched the armed guards, sizing them up as he walked past behind Mr. Suda.

The strange trio arrived at the end of the dimly lit hallway. Two guards opened a heavy pair of steel doors, revealing a bright, round room with a large round table in the center. Five people were sitting at the table, but now they stood up to honor Suda. They were all recognizable from the files as Suda's personal advisers.

"You are safe, Master Suda," said an eight-foot-tall man with red hair. He was Yaga, the Heartless. He specialized in combat training. "Now then, shall we set off the very bombs that secured your release? The U.N. must pay for imprisoning you, Master."

"Of course not, you fool!" said a woman with black hair reaching down to her knees. She was Sera, Suda's PR adviser. "They would never deal with us seriously again."

"And yet, something must be done," said a man wearing an odd green suit. He was Abaz, the spy. He had connections everywhere, and was a master of disguise. "Otherwise they will not take us seriously now."

"Silence fools," said a woman in a shiny metal suit. She was Senda, the mechanic. "This is no way to welcome Suda."

The final member of the Inner Circle, Balthazar, was silent through all of this. He stood long enough to give respect to Suda, and then sat down again. Balthazar wore a black robe and seemed entirely bored by the situation. He was the scholar of the Red Dagger.
