Air Hockey Horrors!!! (Kristoff then Open)

"Ha awesome! Well, Kris, tell me...what do plan on doing if you're not joining in with the Titans? Just steal your way into your eighties?" Riley smiled at his own joke.

"Oh haha, very funny," I grinned, "Well I guess I'll just steal enough to get a place to live and then get a job," I then smiled, "Nah, it's too much fun being the way I am."

"You and a job? I can't imagine it..." A kid like Kris could never really hold down a job in Riley's opinion. He'd probably bankrupt that pizzeria...

I look at him, "What do you mean like that?" I narrow my eyes and stare him down.

"Ha, nevermind." Some things don't have to be said to be understood.

"Well, where would you work if or when you get a job?" Riley asks while popping a mint flavored stick of gum in his mouth. Superman had kryptonite...Riley had mint gum...

"Probably the Hot Topic at the mall," I said, wondering if they were still hiring.

"Hmm...not really my style, but good luck with that!" Riley said with a half smile as he placed his gum wrapper back into his pocket with a half smile.

I steal a lollipop and start eating it, "Everything's sweeter when stolen, I always say," I proclaim with a smirk.

Riley smirked. A kid with no morals? He liked it. It's a nice change of pace when you're in a city like Jump. All the 'good guys' love to be right out in front with all the bustling city life while all the 'bad guys' are hiding and waiting to do something crazy...

"Well, you from Jump originally?"

"I'm actually from Atlantic City, New Jersey, I was homeless there too, guess you can't run away from your problems," I said, as though it was completely normal.

Riley fell quiet and his tone became more serious. "No parents or what? What brings you to Jump?"

It was sad whenever someone was homeless, obviously, but it would be interesting if Kris' story wasn't all that different from his own...and who was this Akki or Ammi or...ah...he couldn't remember her name...but was she a sister? A girlfriend perhaps? And was she actually there at the theatre?

Riley looked around, skimming the lobby a bit. Apparently his exploits had caused a little dispersion and most people were going home for bed seeing as it was nearing the next day...

Checking his watch, he noticed it read 1:00 AM. Was this something that Kris did very often? He knew he did since he really had nothing else to do. "Well, I'm tired of standing anyway." So he took a few steps back on a red couch, leaving an open space for Kris in case he wanted it.

I sit next to him, "Well, I don't think I trust you enough to say," I look through a window, "It's a full moon...." I say quietly as a tear runs down my cheek.

First looking out at the full moon, he admired it for the first time in a while. Even though the city was so industrialized and metallic...unnatural...the moon was still there to remind us...that what came first...will always really be there. It might not be noticed enough as it should be...but it's still there...maybe not in the way you expect it even...

He looked back at Kris and saw the tear rolling down his cheek. Oh, man...Riley never really was good with heart to hearts...actually he was never in the situation to give a heart to heart before. As the wind blew through the trees, he thought of something.

"Y'know...after my mother died...my brother would always tell me that she's just like the moon in the day time...even though I knew that it wasn't really here anymore, night time would come and it's back! I guess he's trying to say that...she's not really gone as long as I remember her and don't let the memory die..."

Maybe he was okay at sensitive stuff...he didn't like that. Pulling out another piece of gum, he held it next to Kris. "You want a piece? It helps me when I'm thinking, anyway..."

He just sat there and watched the moon after that.

"Don't go all sentimental on me," I looked back at the sky, "And sure," I said to the gum question, I just wanted to get off this topic quick, I only ever told Akki about what the moon means to me.

"Ya, I don't like being sentimental, so this is good for both of us!" Riley stretched out his legs and desperately tried to think of a subject to easily switch to.

"Well, how could your energy power be used in a fight?" Riley asked. It would be useful to know in case the two of them ever got in a scrap with some other guys. It'd be nice to know that he'd have someone that could handle themselves.
