In the light of the red moon

Nikki paused in her chewing and looked up at the helicopter, then at the fading red of the moon. She growled and turned to take off again. She didn't want these people to have the advantage of knowing who she was so they could throw her in jail. She started running until she came to the end of her chain leash. She pulled against it but she didn't have the same strength as when she was in her feral mood. She had to get out of here before she changed back and fell asleep. She turned and tried to chew on the leash, but then stopped as she saw the group of now three supers. She let out a ferrety sigh, she wouldn't be able to outrun them before she turned back. She grabbed the chain in her mouth and walked over to them slowly, head lowered and ears back attempting to show that she didn't want to harm them and wanted help. She hoped this would work. She let out a small growl of annoyance when Black Jack referred to her as the ninjas pet and on top of that a dog. Did she look like a dog? She really didn't think so.
The helicopter began the fire a couple of bullets at her. She ducked low, luckily the most of them missed, one managed to hit her in the back leg, though it was only enough to give her a bad limp. Nikki grimaced and roared at the cops for being stupid. She couldn't fight the transformation much longer. She flopped over in her ferret form asleep. Then she began to transform back to her human form, still asleep. She started muttering in her sleep,"I'm not *yawn* a dog."

(Just so every one knows, she transforms about as fast as Beast boy and like him, transforms with clothes. lol. ^.^)

Kunoichi let go of the chain as she saw the ferret transform into a teenage girl, probably the same age. She walked up to see her asleep.
"It's a Teenage girl!" she knew what she said was obvious but it was the only thing she could think of to say.
The helicopter continued to fire in their direction. Thankfully whoever was shooting didn't have precise aim.

"We need to get out of here!" she knew she needed to help this girl who apparently had a power of her own.
As the chopper began to fire again she ran up to the ferret girl and put her arm over her shoulder, and carried her back to where Mr. Pacific and the zombie person (who apparently wasn't a zombie) stood. She put her hands together and used her teleportation to teleport them to the outskirts of town.
She layed the girl back down and stood up and faced the two guys she had dragged along.
"Sorry for the sudden teleport here, it was all I could think of."

Nikki muttered in her sleep again as she curled up on the grass, "Shiny.... squeaky toy...."

Okay, now the zombie-guy was on their side. Suprisingly, Mr. Pacific took it in stride. He must be getting used to stuff like this happening.

The ferret was a human girl? That was a suprise. She must be a shapeshifter, Mr. Pacific thought. He also couldn't help but find her...attractive. He found all girls disarmingly attractive. He felt his heart skip a beat. First he had met Kunoichi, and now this...ferret-girl.

His love life was covered by reality, however. The helicopter continued to fire, even after the girl returned to her human form. This was bad. How were they going to fend off a chopper without hurting anyone?

The answer came in the form of teleportation. Of course. "Wow. I am getting used to this way too fast," Mr. Pacific said. Then again, he had been surrounded by this all his life. He was a Jump City native, after all. "Don't worry about it Kunoichi. I would go anywhere with you, in any mode of transportation. You really are an incredible person."

He turned his attention back to the sleeping shapeshifting girl. He crouched down to look at her face closer. "Well, we don't need to release her into the wild anymore, do we? I wonder why she would terrorize the streets like that? She must not have full control over her powers. Perhaps the inner beast takes over during her transformations. She doesn't want anyone to know about her powers for an obvious reason: they would take advantage of her ability. What she needs is someone to trust."

Mr. Pacific stood up. "Zombie-Man and the beautiful Kunoichi, I want all three of us to promise never to reveal this girl's secret. We all have secrets of our own, and nobody likes having their secrets come to light. We must be treat all individuals with respect. I hereby promise to befriend this girl and keep her secret safe from those who would harm her." Mr. Pacific held his hand out in between the zombie-guy and Kunoichi. He intended for them to add their hands to his own to create a pact.

Black Jack wasn't sure whether to be aghast at how fast everything was moving around him, or to laugh his ass off at the self-righteousness of the person in front of him. He actually found it surprising these people would so easily accept him as some kind of honorable heroic type. Apparently the kid was rather naivete, a trait that no doubt would one day get himself or someone near him seriously hurt or even killed. Which of course amused the hell out of Black Jack to the point that he couldn't keep it in any more, and burst out laughing.

"HehahahahahaHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, oh, oh, I can't take any more of this. Heheheheheheh, god you're hilarious. "I'm gonna befriend this girl and make her my new pet side quick, I shall call her squishy, and she shall be mine."" Black Jack said, puffing out his chest mimicking/mocking the would be super hero and his overly cub scout mannerism. The boy read like a kid at bible camp, it was the kind of idealism that was both easily offended and easily manipulated, the kind that made heroes like Super Man, or foolish dead men. From What Black Jack had seen of the kid, he didn't have a single power to call his own, so in Black Jack's mind he definitely fell under the category of foolish dead people.

Regaining his posture, Black Jack smirked to himself, a smirk that was reflected in his words as he recovered from his hysterical laughing fit. "Heheh..phew...heh, look...kid, I don't know what your game is, but you seriously need to realize two things right now. One pull your head out of your ass, I don't know what your game is, but you'll stay alive a lot longer if you don't treat every situation like a steam roller set on go without a driver behind the wheel. And two, you don't know anything about, me, or the girl in front of you. She might kill you the moment that she gets the chance, shifted or not shifted, in control or other wise. And me, well, what makes you so sure I won't just turn you, Kunoichi, and little miss ferret here in to the authorities for a chunk of change? And third, my name isn't Zombie-Man, the name's Black Jack. Get it right or I'll have to spell it out for you, and trust me, you won't like me spelling it out for you." Black Jack finished his monologue brandishing a permanent marker that even he wasn't quite sure where it had come from or when it had gotten into his hand at the super boy scout.

Black Jack meant it about the name too, he was a mean doodler. He once out doodled an entire kindergarten class, it was a proud day for him, he got SIX GOLD STARS! But what was really important hear, is that this kid get the point of what he was trying to say, he couldn't help but wonder as he stared incredulously at the Mr. Pacific's outstretched "go team" hand pose.

*Beautiful?* And what was with him getting so close to the ferret girl. She sensed a playboy but kept quiet about it, and just stayed alert for any playboy actions.
Kunoichi looked at Black Jack and then Mr. Pacific. She could see that Mr. Pacific didn't have any real powers but he did have the will of good in him, and she was fine with that. She could also see where Black Jack was heading at, if this kid kept trying to help in situations that were way out of hand, he could get seriously hurt or worse. But seeing how she had the same strive to keep doing good(just not as enthusiastic or naive) she agreed and put her hand on top of his.
"I agree that we must keep this girls identity a secret. I know how it feels to have something special, to where people either envy you or seek to destroy you for it." She stated, then pulling her hand back she turned to face Black Jack. "We are sorry for calling you a zombie, Black Jack. It was a reasonable name to call you, with the scare you gave us when you landed in front of us all bloody and deformed. If you were in our shoes I'm sure you would have reacted the same way. And about turning us in, I'm sure you won't, from the looks of it. It seems you were being pursued yourself, am I correct?"
She turned her attention back to the ferret girl. It looked like she wasn't going to wake up anytime soon.

Nikki rolled over in the grass turning to her other side. curled into an even tighter ball trying to get the annoying sound of voices from her ears. She yawned, "Shut up you stupid rats..." Ok so she was awake enough to know some one was talking, but not awake enough to know who or what. When the noises continued she cracked one eye open, annoyed. usually she would go the entire night and the following day asleep after a red moon. She growled and stretched, then paused noticing the grass,"Where the heck am-" she turned to see the three people she had met- er, kinda met, in the street when she had gone feral. Nikki stood and braced herself for a fight if one should happen. She went to transform, but her energy was to tired out to do so.
"Snap...." she whispered under her breath. She took a step back, getting ready to run.

"Its okay we won't tell anyone about your shapeshifting." Kunoichi said as she saw the girl take a step back.
"My name is Kunoichi Hoshi by the way." She introduced herself properly to see if she could gain her confidence.
"I just want to know something, what happened back there in your ferret form? Did something cause you to lose control?"

Nikki bit her lip, she didn't like talking about her powers in full extent. She looked between the other two guys, "And I know I can trust you.... why?"
Nikki was tuckered out and let out a long yawn. She didn't know what all the ferret side of her had done tonight but it had worn her energy way down and she had the taste of metal in her mouth.
She then realized it could have been a car, and if there were people in the car.... oh no.
"I- I didn't hurt any one... did I?" Nikki asked shyly. She didn't want these people to know she had no control or memory of what had happened, but she had to make sure she didn't severely injure or possibly kill some one.

"No, don't worry no one was harmed. It was just a big scare for everyone to see a giant ferret roaming around town. Although there were hotdog carts and lightposts and cars that could not be saved." Kunoichi collapsed on her knees on the grass as she felt worn out from all the chasing and trying to stop a six foot ferret from terrorizing town, on top of that using her teleportation, that alone taking a lot out of her.
" It's okay if you don't trust me, I understand, just know your secret is safe with me." she sat down taking her first break in the night.*great...* she thought to herself as her body felt drained.

Nikki sighed in relief and sat on the grass, "A car huh? well that clears up why my mouth tastes like metal and foam." She looked over the group in front of her, "sooo, who are you guys?" She asked looking from Black Jack and Mr. Pacific.

After Black Jack was done with his monologue, it was Mr. Pacific's turn to laugh. "My spelling never was that good. I'm sorry about the nick-name, Black Jack. I'll try to remember that." From the look on Mr. Pacific's face, he didn't take any offense from Black Jack's words. In fact, he seemed to have enjoyed them. "Actually, I think I know more about you than you know about yourself, Black Jack."

Before Mr. Pacific could explain, Ferret-Girl was up and trying to run away. Fortunately, Kunoichi was able to calm her down. His smile was genuine as he answered the girl. "Do not be afraid. You are among friends. I am Mr. Pacific, the defender of the innocent. This is my good friend Black Jack, and you've already met Kunoichi. You may trust us because we are good people. We will not hurt you. We will not betray you. I have placed you under my protection, so you can trust me. Kunoichi is pure of heart, so you can trust her. As for Black Jack...well," Mr. Pacific held up a hand to his mouth, as though telling a secret. "He has a crush on you."

Nikki raised an eyebrow, "Under your protection huh? Riiiiiiiiight..." she then looked from Black Jack to Mr. Pacific, "and I don't believe he would have a crush on me, seeing how I just about tore up half the town..." she sat cross legged and leaned forward, landing her head in her knees. She took a deep breathe and let it out slowly, she had to figure out a way of keeping her ferret form under control during a red moon.

That was when Black Jack clamped his hand down on Mr. Pacific's shoulder, an anime-ish gleam of pure hatred and DEATH shined in Black Jack's eyes as he leaned his face forwards next to Mr. Pacific's. "In love AM I? Have a CRUSH do I? Need I REMIND you of our little chat just a few seconds ago? Keep saying I'm things like that on my behalf and I will act on my threat save for one, teeny tiny, eensy weensy, little difference, it won't be a marker I work you over with. Do I make myself clear?" stated as he held up a knife with his other hand next to the other side of Mr. Pacific's face.

*boys* she thought as she rolled her eyes. She shifted herself to sit more comfortly.
"well since the town is half destroyed, and there's a chopper going around and randomly shooting. What now?"
