Ready, Willing, and Able (Robin/Titans)

Robin immediately cleared his own throat and had a 'I've been busy' look before saying, "Happy to see you too Alfred. I've been busy, more so these days... after The Government sent their latest pet project to my door," Robin said before whatever little fleeting moment of happiness he had mustered drained away at the topic came up. "I'm sure you guys have heard of DOMA? I'm sure Titans East has had their vist too," Robin added grimly.

Alfred smiled for what looked like the first time in a while when he saw and heard Robin. "I...understand. I simply worry for you, considering how poorly some of Batman's first nights went."

Barbara smirked and waved it off. "Oh come on Alfred, the prototype always takes a few more bumps than the newer models. Beta testing and all that. We know all the tricks of the trade at this point. It's fine." She waited for Robin to go over the issues with DOMA and nodded. "I was meaning to ask about that Alfred. The thief back at the docks mentioned them too, so I don't think this is isolated strictly to the super heroes." She scratched her chin. "Oh, while I'm on that subject. Make us a file on the Bat-Computer by the name of Red X. I'll send you notes when I've got a minute. Bastard dropped me in the ocean."

Alfred sighed. He'd been typing for a few minutes at this point. "Of course Batgirl. On the subject of the D.O.M.A., they are an elite task force currently being headed by Amanda Waller. While she's been difficult before, she seems to have a vendetta this time. She's even taken minor shots at the Justice League." He sent a few files on Waller to both the Titans computer and Barbara's phone, as well as everything a preliminary scan on DOMA would offer. "What I have is not much, but we're trying to keep things closer to our chest. As it stands, the D.O.M.A. are avoiding Batman, presumably due to his lack of a meta gene. We'd like to keep things that way."

Robin blinked and hardened his expression alittle when she mentioned Red X. There were probably worse people to run into her first time in Jump- he could name them on one hand as a matter of fact. And no, he wasn't just thinking about The Hive 5- which weren't even five to begin with. So it was even worse than he thought? Of course it HAD to be Waller of all people. "You'd think she'd have better things to do then pick a fight- like helping the country for example," Robin said offhandedly. In her mind this may be helping but that was neither here nor there. Robin couldn't help but smirk alittle at the mention that they were avoiding Batman- which he was positive was more because he had something on Waller. "I understand. And it's difficult for me with my house being a giant T just a stone's throw from the city," Robin added. Not like there was a better option at the time. There was this crashed alien ship, and they needed a place to live. "Anything you have on them will help me out a lot, thanks Alfred," Robin said sincerely.

Alfred finished his transfer and nodded. "Of course, sir. I do believe that Batman is currently working on quite the promising lead with the D.O.M.A., and I shall of course keep you up to date on it through Batgirl." The butler would have suggested setting up a more permanent form of communication, but he understood the unique situation that the two heroes were in at the moment.

Barbara nodded as the files poured onto her phone. "Yep, getting a lot of the usual crap from her. Metahumans are dangerous, next stage of evolution, yada yada yada..." She scrolled through and raised an eyebrow. "Oh this could be fun. Bet it's what bossman is looking into too..." A file opened on the main computer in reference to a white android, capable of mimicking the abilities of others. "It's a pretty barren file. I can try hacking into and digging around in their stuff to find more later. After we find you people a new place to crash till this all blows over."

Alfred nodded and prepared to terminate the communications as Barbara began to wrap up. He hesitated as he typed, and stopped, looking up at the monitor. He glanced around and sighed. "For what it's worth, Master Dick, you can still approach me. And I would like to hear from you. At least once in a while." And then the communication cut.

Barbara kept scrolling through her phone and walked by, elbowing Robin playfully. "D'awww, see? He's still just a grumpy old teddy bear." She smirked and started toward the hallway again. "Whaddaya think, spelunking? Or do you want me to dig around on the interwebs for these guys? Your state, your government, your problem, your call."

Robin nodded to the comments about Waller. Thinking back on an earlier remark Alfred made, he wondered what it was this time that set her off. Then his eyes blinked and widened as The White Creature him and the others had encountered came up on the screen. "That's..." Robin muttered  before snapping his attention back to Alfred as he mentioned trying to get in touch with him once in awhile before the communication was closed. Was this... thing somehow related to DOMA? If Barbara's guess was correct, then there was a much more clear course of action they could take. Hopefully he'd hear back from Elisabeth about it- actually he'd probably see if he could get in touch with her in the morning. "We can hold off on the spelunking for alittle while. If he's already following up on a lead, it's only a matter of time till something turns up. Really, I'm more worried about what you've told me about Joker," Robin said seriously. Regardless of what they decided, Joker would come at just the right moment to ruin everything.

Barbara did notice the little trance Robin had gone into when he saw the android. Evidently he'd seen it before, or even interacted with it somehow. "Right now, there are a lot of variables with Joker." She said plainly, looking down at her phone. "I mean, when he doesn't want to be found, even Batman has trouble finding him. So we'll need to approach this carefully."

She scratched her chin and looked out the window at the city. "And I mean, honestly? His hideouts range from the obvious to the absurd. Guy hunkered down in a homeless shelter for 3 months after escaping Arkham once, just to make Batman look for him." She put a hand on her hip and glanced back at Robin. "Honestly, Batman's big demand about me coming here was that I'd call once I found him. Then he would make his way over because no one can do as good a job as he can. But you and I both know that's bullshit. So where can we go looking?"

What she said was true on all accounts. The Joker was unpredictable and despite how crazy he was, he was very resourceful. All the more reason that they try to get a head start on looking for him sooner rather than later. "Well like you said- he's hard to find when he doesn't want to be found. There are a few places he COULD be- some old hideouts of some of the local masterminds. That doesn't necessarily mean he'd be at any one of them though- but it's a start. There's also some places here in the city itself that he could lay low in," Robin sighed. He still didn't have a good opinion of DOMA, and even though the thought crossed his mind he didn't want to think about how they'd go about it. They'd probably tear the city apart looking for him. "Hopefully we find him before DOMA. Because I don't want to think about what'd happen," he added grimly. Normally the thought that one person would be a threat to a military department would be absurd- but Joker was a very special case, as he had proven many times.

Barbara sighed and shrugged. "Yeah, you'd think it'd be easy for them to take him down, but uh...well, it's not like Dad gets far with him. And shockingly, I feel like he's more committed than a bunch of stooges who harass people like us." She lay down on the couch, pulling out her phone and activating the visor over her mask. "I'll dig around and see what I can find on DOMA till I pass out. I'm a little more quiet than Alfred when it comes to this stuff." She glanced at Robin through her visor. "As for you, you look tired enough already. Go sleep, wash your damn clothes, and we'll work on Joker tomorrow."

"That's what I'm worried about," Robin replied in response to her statement about his commitment. And he wasn't even technically a metahuman- just a crazed mad man. Almost on cue, Robin's facade finally cracked as he yawned when she mentioned trying to get some sleep. "I assume that you'll be hanging around for awhile then. I appreciate all of the help, we're gonna need it- and it's good to see you again," Robin added sincerely. It of course couldn't be under other circumstances. Whatever force was at play here, it had a twisted sense of humor.
