CRASH TIME!!!! (done)

Zil'costa sat coiled comfortably behind the control panel of her scouting ship, making minor adjustments as she navigated the vast expanses of space.  She so enjoyed her missions to go explore uncharted parts of space, helping her home planet make new contacts with other species and hopefully on friendly terms.  Of course the fact that she got to experience all the new things an alien world could offer were a huge bonus to her, letting her live out her dream as an explorer while earning her a rather hefty paycheck.  So much better than fighting messy battles with hostile aliens on other worlds.

As she daydreamed about what her next discovery might show her the warning alarm on her ship started to sound as she came out of a warp drive leap.

"Oh no, what isss it now?"  She asked with a slight lisp in her voice, a sure sign she was surprised.

"WARNING!  Debris field detected!  Brace for impact!"  The computer blared out suddenly, causing Zil'costa to look up at the main view screen.  Sure enough there was a field of debris ahead.  It didn't look natural either, mostly made up of metal and wrecked ships instead of asteroids or ice crystals.  Zil'costa took manual control and tried to steer clear of the field but at her current speed it seemed she'd be unable to dodge the entire field itself.  Still, she was an ace pilot by her race's standards.  While such an obstacle field might be fatal for a lesser pilot this was just a challenge for her.

The Serpentor female managed to steer to the edge of the debris field, dodging around broken hulls of alien ships.  She idly noted that some sort of battle must have taken place here.  None of the ships were of a design that she could recognize, but she could make out at least two distinct designs.  It seemed whatever battle was fought here that neither side had gotten away unscathed.  She pushed those thoughts aside and concentrated on surviving, blasting away a chunk of debris that she was unable to fly around.  Just as she felt that she was about to escape the field without any damage to her own ship however, there was a sudden impact that caused the whole ship to lurch.

"Engines one, two, and four offline.  Warp drive damaged.  Fuel crystal damaged."  The computer informed her instantly.

Zil'costa let out an angry hiss and used what little power the ship had to scan the nearby systems for a habitable planet she could hopefully make it to.  The only one nearby was near a single star system, third planet from the blazing orb in fact.  She adjusted her course and hoped that she'd have enough remaining power to make it there.

A blazing streak lit up the sky over the stadium as something came through the atmosphere high above.  The trail of fire behind it made it look like a meteor or something, yet it wasn't falling like one.  It curved in midflight and angled toward the stadium itself.

"Crap crap crap crap, can't make it to a clear area.... oh no, that looks like habitation to me.  Thisss isssn't gonna look good."  She hissed out, once again that lisp on her s sounds coming through in her agitation.  She spotted the large stadium and the open ground inside it among the larger buildings of the alien city below her, angling her ship toward it.  It was the clearest area she could find and she really wanted to avoid smashing into any buildings if she could.  Landing in such a tight area was difficult at the best of times, and now her last engine had just shut down... she was pretty much in a controlled fall now instead of any sort of landing.

"This is gonna hurt."  She said with a grimace, activating her memory crystal to guard herself from the coming impact.

The sleek Serpentor ship slammed down in the dead center of the field, lodging itself into the dirt there.  It was obvious to anyone looking that the ship had seen better days even before this landing, yet miraculously no one outside the ship had actually been hurt by it's sudden crash landing.  It was unclear if any inhabitant inside the ship could say the same.  Yet a sudden whosh and a portal opened on the side of the ship and a large slithering mass, shining with some sort of crystalline surface from the looks of it, came out before falling to the ground with a crash.  That fall seemed to shatter the crystal surrounding the creature, but whatever it was it was still breathing... and obviously alive.

"Ow ow ow... definitely broke some stuff..."  Zil'costa moaned in obvious pain, but still consious despite the rather harsh landing.  She laid next to her ship, her breath a bit raspy from her injuries.  Still all things considered, this planet had wonderful weather at the moment.

ren was driving around on his motor cycle when he saw a UFO headlining twords the ground
changing his rout he sped off that way . whoever it was they were going to need help
open reaching the site ren hopped off his bike and yelled in the direction of the ship
"hey is anyone ok "

Zil'costa continued to lay next to her non-functioning ship, her body twitching a bit as she did her best to ignore the pain that seemed to be coursing through every cell of her being. She'd utterly exhausted her memory crystal to protect herself during the crash, and she was alive so she'd count that as a success for now. With a wince she patted at the necklace around her neck and found the tiny gem in the center undamaged, causing her to let out a sigh of relief.

"Oh good. Would have sucked to have a broken babble stone." She muttered calmly to herself, glad that vital item was safe. It was just after that moment that she heard something. Zil'costa brought her upper body to what might be considered a sitting position with the rest of her snake like form coiled underneath. She spotted the alien instantly and let out another sigh of relief, at the very least the first local she saw didn't appear to be carrying any visible weapons. That was always a good sign. Zil'costa raised one hand and waved to get the attention of the odd looking creature. She wondered if this was the dominant species on the planet, not having had time to study it from orbit like usual. She didn't bother to speak anything at the moment, needing for the local to speak some more for her babble stone to kick in and start teaching her the language. Anything she said now would just be gibberish to the alien coming her way.

Walking up to the alien Ren knelt down beside it " if you "can understand me are you hurt do you need anything in particular "
He said as he took off his bike helmet

This creature coming toward her was certainly a brave one. Most aliens she'd encountered wouldn't have walked up to a crashed ship so easily, let alone one with a Serpentor like herself coiled up outside it. Either this being was very curious, stupid, or wanted to help... maybe a mixture of all three. As it knelt next to her she relaxed a bit, though she winced at the pain going through her body. It felt like she'd broken more than a few bones and probably ruptured at least one organ. Thankfully her natural regeneration would take care of all that in a day or so. That just left her with dealing with the locals.

As the creature spoke she flicked her tongue out and closed her eyes, her race's sign that they didn't understand. She opened her eyes and flicked her tongue outward again as she watched the creature remove it's helmet. It looked even odder to her now, what with that ridiculous tuft of fur on top of it's head. She couldn't help but let out a hissing laugh before instantly clutching at her side from the sudden pain the laughter had caused.

Ren noticed she was in pain and reaching into his side pouch he pulled out some pain killers he had gotten from an earlier adventure he then offered then to the alien
" I see your in pain here take this it will help"

Zil'costa still couldn't understand what the creature was saying to her, at least not yet. She just needed him to keep talking so her babble stone could decipher their language and teach it to her. As the being took out some small capsules she eyed them, then looked into the creature's eyes, then back at the capsules. With a little shrug she accepted them but simply held them in her hand, not entirely sure what to do with them. They could be this planet's version of a babble stone for all she knew. She looked at the little capsules in the palm of her hand and pointed at them with her other hand as if to silently ask just what the dickens was she supposed to use them for.

Ren mentally kicked himself "she didn't know what I'm saying" he said aloud then he took out one for himself he pointed to the pill and then swallowed the pill to prove it was safe

Zil'costa watched as the being took one of the capsules and swallowed it. If he was trying to show it was safe for consumption she didn't really care, as her kind were immune to every known poison they'd encountered in the galaxy so far. Of course this creature didn't know that, but he probably wasn't trying to trick her into taking something harmful either. At the very least it showed he probably had good intentions toward her, or at the very least was trying to help her. With a shrug she swallowed the rest of the capsules with one gulp and then looked at the being who'd given them to her.

( "So now we wait and see what those little things are supposed to do I guess. Oh that's right, you can't understand anything I'm saying can you? Just like I can't understand you yet." ) Zil'costa said in her own language, which sounded like a bunch of different pitched hisses to anyone who didn't understand the Serpentor language. Still, she just wanted to demonstrate that she was capable of speech since she wanted this creature to keep on talking. Even if she couldn't understand him yet, a bit more chatter from the odd looking creature would make things move along so much more smoothly.

ren looked around before returning his gaze back to the alien "i know we cant understand each other currently but this place isnt that safe plus with those pain killers kicking in ill stay here and make sure you arnt harmed "

Zil'costa allowed herself a little smile as the creature spoke some more. The more he spoke the faster her babble stone would unravel the language and teach it to her. Already she was starting to pick up a little bit, though she was lacking quite a bit of it too. Maybe some hand signs would help get her point across?

Zil'costa poked the creature with one finger to get his attention, then she pointed at his mouth. Then she pantomimed opening and closing with her hand, like it was speaking. She hoped she got her intentions across fine without issuing some sort of offense, not wanting to upset the only being she'd met on the planet while she was still in such a vulnerable state.

ren looked confused before it dawned on him maybe it can understand me "if you wish to talk ill tell you a bit about myself im a combat android my name is renagade or ren for short its my job to rid this world of those who intend on doing the people of jump city harm"

thinking to himself he got an idea taking out his combat knife he started writing in the dirt "this is the english alphabet " ren stated as he spoke each letter

Zil'costa started nodding her head as the being started to speak. She couldn't make out everything he was saying just yet, but it was helping to build the database in her babble stone. When he pulled out a blade she let out a startled hiss, preparing to defend herself, until he put the blade in the dirt and started to scribble some symbols there. As soon as she realized he didn't intend to use his blade on her she relaxed again, even looking a tad chagrined that she'd thought he might do her harm.

As he sounded out the symbols for her the babble stone started to work faster, having an actual alphabet to work with now. After a few moments Zil'costa tilted her head to the side and held her eyes closed as if she were listening to something far away. A little warmth shot into her from the little jewel around her neck and she let out a contented sigh.

"Ah, that always feels so nice." Zil'costa said in perfect English, the babble stone finally having kicked in and taught her the local language.

"Hello. I'm Zil'costa, of the Serpentor. I come in peace. A pleasure to make your acquaintance. Sorry for taking so long to communicate properly but I needed more samples of your language before I could properly decipher it." The snake lady said, obviously happy to be able to communicate more easily.

when ren heard her speak English "fast learner , my name is renegade or ren for short im a combat android ment to protect the people here also that capsule i gave you will help ease the pain your in "

"The quick learning is thanks to my babble stone. It's quite the nifty little item. After hearing enough of a language, or seeing enough of it, it teaches me how to use it and understand it myself. An essential part of my job." Zil'costa said as she tapped one finger on the little red jewel around her neck before continuing to talk.

"A combat android? Huh, this planet didn't exactly strike me as advanced enough to be building such things yet. Or did your kind conquer this world from previous inhabitants? Doesn't really matter I guess." Zil'costa asked bluntly. It didn't seem to matter to her if someone had already come to this world and conquered it, after all she was just here to scout and meet new races... not judge them.

"Thanks for the capsule. Not sure how much good it will do me, but the gesture is appreciated nonetheless. Thankfully I should be able to recover from my injuries in a day or so, my ship on the other hand." She cast a look at her crashed ship right behind her and frowned.

"That's gonna take a whole lot more work it seems. Blasted debris field took me by surprise." She crossed her arms in front of her and exhaled a long hiss of frustration before casting her gaze back toward Ren.

"I don't suppose there's any spaceship repair docks around here are there?" She asked, pretty sure what the answer would be but feeling it couldn't hurt to ask anyway.
