Noobies (Bloo) [IS]

Honestly she didn't know what she expected when she went to her new school, maybe people flying around or climbing the walls? It seemed ridiculously boring for somewhere that has the highest rates of meta human like activity. Well it seemed that way considering every time she skipped past the news on her twitter feed there was another article about Jump City and a monster attack. This city was known for such things, yet people still moved here... like herself.. Although technically she didn't have a choice.
Nonetheless Willow arrived with her old tan backpack and a huge coffee mug in hand. She pushed her sunglasses up in her hair and took a sip of her coffee, she was going to need another cup to survive this day. Letting out a sigh, Will made her way up to the guidance office where she got her schedule and a brief tour of the school, not remembering much of anything. Before she could ask any questions the guidance counselor showed her her locker, gave her the combination, and scurried off. Great.

After the fourth attempt, She got her rusty locker to open where she shoved some text books she was given... eh she could just use the 'oh it's my first day I didn't know I was supposed to bring them' excuse. Will then shuffled to her first class, Chemistry, where she gave her teacher a note that excused why she was 15 minutes late. He introduced her to the class where she awkwardly nodded and walked to where he pointed. Every person in this room was paired up with someone, given the large lab desks, which meant she was by herself in the back. It was one of those desks, scribbled all over and had the old lab equipment that other students switched out so they didn't have to get stuck with this excuse of a microscope. Apparently her teacher was going to help her with their labs to get her caught up, since she didn't have a partner. Great. 10 minutes into her first day of school and she wanted to die.

Mariya had been in Jump for a few months now, but hadn't checked into high school yet. Something about the forged identity she used to get here made that difficult. After pulling some strings and greasing some chumps pockets, Mariya got it to work though...
Now it was just a matter of not regretting it. She never liked school, but this place looked way different than the small school she attended in Russia. Americans just had to do everything bigger amd better, didn't they?

Her guidance counselor showed up out of breath when Mariya met him. He mumbled an excuse about abouther new kid showing up earlier, then led mariya to her locker and gave her the combination. Mariya didn't remember it, so after the slimey man pointed her to her next class, Mariya popped the lock open with her strength. She dared aomeone to steal her books anyway.

She grabbed the science looking one, though if she read the cover she'd know it was a Chemistry book and she was on her way to Biology.
When she got there, late, all the dweeby looking kids had coats on and were in pairs. The teacher pointed her to the desk at the back with falling apart equipment and a lonely brunette. Fun.

Mariya ran a hand through her hair as she approached the desk. "Hey, I think I'm your partner. Are you a smart kid or nah?"

After sketching some dogs onto the side of her notes, it wasn't soon after where she was joined by another student. The girl was relatively tall, obviously worked out, had a short black cut, and honestly looked intimidating. Will wouldn't be surprised if she rolled up her sleeves and had a bunch of tattoos, or had "badass" written as a tramp stamp. The girl ran a hand through her hair and asked if Willow was a smart kid.. great... either she was going to turn out to be a douche or someone relatively cool, she hoped for the latter. "Uh... Well science has been my strong suit.. but I don't consider myself smart.. You know what they say, C's get degrees." Will explained, scratching the back of her head. The girl had two cuts on her face, a bruise on her left cheek bone, a band aid across her nose, and the bags under her eyes suggested she hadn't slept in awhile. To other people it may have looked like she had gotten into a serious fight or she was surviving finals week.
"So uh... where'd you move from..?" Willow whispered, trying not to be to loud to interrupt the teacher. She pulled her giant coffee mug close to her face and took a sip, half of it being gone already. She had completely forgot to ask about her name, it didn't really cross her mind. She also assumed this girl was new since she was stuck in the crappy corner as well.

Mariya made an annoyed noise when the girl said she didn't consider herself smart. At least she said science was her strong suit, maybe the girl was just shy and didn't want to brag? That was the dream.
"I'd settle for a C then. That's better than I usually do alone."

Mariya admitted, eying the girl up and down quickly with a scowl. She looked like she'd just been beaten halfway to hell, which put a damper on Mariya's hopes she was smart. Nerds didn't get in fights.
"I moved here from Russia. I hide the accent well. Better than you hide the fact that someone gave ya the business. Who beat you up, Rocky?"

Mariya chuckled a bit as she called the girl out, but didn't really mean to offend her new acquaintance; Rocky. Mariya didn't ask for a name, because she'd already given the girl one that fit better. The Kryptonian relaxed in the seat, putting her boots up on the scratched up desk.

She said she would settle for a C, hopefully they'd do better than that, but no promises. After taking a couple more notes, the girl leaned over and told her she's from Russia, but didn't have an accent... Well it didn't really made sense, but Will didn't really care enough to try to find the truth. Then again Will was raised in New York and she didn't have a typical new yorker accent, so there was that. She followed it up by asking Willow essentially what happened to her face. The girl took a giant gulp of her coffee, forgetting about her mess of a face.. "Oh yeah.. hah you should see the other guy." She told her jokingly enough, keeping her voice down. Even if she was loud she wasn't sure their teacher could hear them, he was so old and slow, on top of the fact they were so far away.
"Not really... I just kind of have bad luck, end up at the wrong place at the wrong time ya feel?" Will explained, flipping her page and writing a couple more things down. When do they get to the actual lab part?

Rocky seemed intent on taking notes, which was cool because Mariya had no plans to do the same. At least one of them would know some of the material when the lab finally did come up. "Right. I bet the other guy looks way worse."

By the Kryptonian's tone, it was obvious that Mariya didn't believe her. With injuries like that, assuming it was some simple school fight, it was probably broken up before anyone else would get too hurt. Not that Mariya really cared much. If someone had the gusto to brush wounds like that off, they were okay in her book. Humans were so fragile.

Mariya stared at the ceiling as Rocky elaborated on the wounds, but Mariya just scuffed. "Yeah, in front of a fist is usually the wrong place to be at the time it connects with your face Rocky. Hey, you think i can make copies of your notes later? I didn't bring a pencil... or a notebook... I got the textbook though."

That didn't seem to fly with her, why did she care anyways, it's not like they were friends or knew each other for awhile. The sarcasm in her tone suggested that it mattered at least, or maybe Will was reading into it too much. She didn't believe the whole wrong place wrong time thing either, well whatever. It may be too much to say 'oh yeah I have stupid spider powers and every time I try to do something right I usually get a bat to the face'. Not only would Willow sound crazy, but she probably wouldn't believe that either! It was a lose-lose situation. "Yeah something like that." She mumbled, in all honesty she was trying to get a dub and got mistaken for someone else, giving her a black eye. So yeah, that wasn't from fighting crime.
The 'Russian' asked if she could copy her notes, Willow nodding her head. Honestly she couldn't care less, most people would be angry about it but she was usually the one in that situation. "If you have a cell phone you could take a photo of it after class... .or at lunch... if you want to sit with me.." That was a good gateway! This is how you make friends... right?

Rocky agreed to share notes, which was perfect. Hopefully that could become some sort of a tradition, because this was an early class and Mariya wasn't much of a morning person. She expanded her relaxed demeanor by putting her hands behing her head and crossing her legs.
"That works. Hey, maybe you can give me your number? For, uh, school reasons of course. If one of us doesn't show up, we'd need to know the homework and all that crap, yah?"

Mariya wasn't doing much to keep her voice down, so she couldn't be surprised when she heard a loud shush from one of the nerds behind them. Who the Hell was actually listening to this boring lecture?! Mariya glanced back at the source of the sound to see a girl with thick rimmed glasses glaring. Mariya flipped her the bird and turned back to Rocky.
"Annoying try hard girl..."

Mariya grunbled to herself, yawning.
"Hey, you wanna cut class after lunch?"

Day one delinquent.

Will didn't even think twice about the whole number thing, technically it was making a friend, which was nice right? She wrote down her number on a piece of paper, tore it off, and handed it to the other girl. "Feel free to hit me up whenever." Willow told her nonchalantly, watching her flick off some thick rimmed glasses chick for shushing her. Rude. Oh well.
After another agonizing 45 minutes of basically a robot teaching them, he finally let them go a couple seconds after the bell. He was one of those teachers. Not wanting to rush to another class, Willow got up slowly and listened to her friend... wait.. what was her name... did she already ask and forgot it? ****... would it be too weird now to ask and make her look like an asshat? Uh... maybe if Will was lucky someone would say her name in front of her so she could pick it up... Let's go with that. "Sure... I'll meet up with you outside the lunch room? We can take my car from there." And with that Willow walked out of the class, a giant coffee mug in hand and looking forward to getting the hell out of school.

The class dragged on for what seemed like forever, but was really just the longest 45 minutes of Mariya's life. Was every class in this school going to be so boring? What had she signed up for?! Back home there was small classes of people Mariya knew all the secrets of. Here there were so many damn kids, she'd barely be able to keep track of names. It was at that time that Rocky chose to accept her invitation to skip. Perfect.
"Alright Rock. I'll see ya then."

Mariya called as the bell ring. The teacher tried to keep them there, but Mariya was already up and with her book in her hand. As she walked out the teacher seethed, but Mariya seemed oblivious.

Luckily for the short patienced Kryptonian, she had PE next. That class blew by smoothly and was actually fun. American schools weren't all bad, it seemed. After that was lunch, and Mariya was looking for Rocky outside the lunchroom, wondering if the girl was wussing out...

After taking her note, the girl was quick to leave class, making Willow excited for the day to come. The next few classes were ever so boring, Will took a good amount of notes so it's not like she wasn't a good student, she just hated her classes so far. Her American History teacher was the only one she tolerated, she was new and young, so she was trying really hard to engage with the students. It was equally as admiral as it was cringy, but Will appreciated the effort. Nonetheless, that was her last class before lunch, time to get the hell out of here!
Not wasting a second, Willow threw all of her books and binders in her locker, only sporting her usual tan tattered backpack and a coffee cup. The only thing that made her backpack less boring was a little yellow and black T charm, yup, she was a Teen Titans fan. Any super hero really, she liked reading their comics and follow their story, news clippings and all. She didn't have a current favorite Jump City hero though, although the big robot guy seemed really cool!

Willow walked ever so casually out the front door, it just looked like the two girls were going off campus for lunch. "Alright. Where do you want to go?" She asked the taller go, pushing her hair behind her ear.

Rocky showed up, which didn't surprise Mariya much. She had expected that the kind of delinquent that got into fights that left all those bruises and cuts wouldn't be opposed to skipping out on school. Mariya smirked at the girl and put her hands in her pocket as she followed her out. "We could go to my house." Mariya suggested, despite not technically having a house to go to.

The Kryptonian was not ill prepared though. She had been working a few jobs in a richer neighborhood and had noticed a house that seemed to be rarely occupied. Perfect for a nice relaxing day in.

"It's not too far. Wheres your car anyway? I don't really want to be seen riding in the junker off the school lot, Rock..." Mariya teased, smirking a bit.

The girl suggested her own house, okay that was fine. Willow thought she would suggest something more interested, cage fight with a bear, matching tattoos, shots of vodka with homeless people, but that worked too. Following that she made a sly comment about not wanting to leave the place in a hunk of junk, which was odd because she didn't look like the kind of person that cared about reputation. Unless that reputation included beating up people for their money... that's what she looked like she did at least. "Ha ha" Willow said sarcastically, leading her to the dented blue punch bug, smirking. "This is Rebecca and you'll treat her nicely. Or we'll have a problem." Willow threatened half heartily, it was obviously a joke. To be honest Willow could take her, right? I mean as long as she kept her distance, she had a feeling this chick had a mean left hook... right hook? What was the saying... eh whatever.
Willow opened the car and jumped in the drivers seat, pulling her sunglasses over her eyes and adjusting her hair. "Put your seat belt on, I don't want to go to jail because of your teenage rebellion." She told her, placing her coffee in her cup holder and putting her car in drive.

After asking where she was going, Willow led the two to a nicer house on the eastern side of Jump. Wow... how many family members did she have? Once she parked, she pushed her glasses on top of her head and let out a low whistle. "You sure this is yours? Are your parents doctors or something?"

Mariya let out a laugh when she saw the beat up car, tapping a sizable dent in the side as she did. Rebecca? That was the name of this beater? Luckily Matiya wasn't serious about not wanting to be seen, so she got in without complaint. "Oooo, a problem? How scary." Mariya wasn't intimidated in the slightest, but she respected the courage. Not many had the stones to stand up to her... even before they knew what she was.

Mariya gave directions to the house, and Rocky's reaction was predictably surprised. Yeah, Mariya didn't think she could really pass as a rich kid so she didnt feel insulted by the assumption. "Uh, my dad's retired. He invented dice when he was a kid, reaping the rewards you know?" The lie was smooth and steady. No hesitation or delay, Mariya had a killer poker face.

"Come on, I'll show you the way in." Mariya was happy nobody was home, as she expected. When she got to the front porch, she flipped a nearby rock and a key fell out. X-ray vision was useful. Inside, the house was beautiful. "Look at the home theater. Ill get us drinks you pick something off Netflix."

The name on the Netflix account was Mary.

Putting the car in park, Willow followed Mariya inside the house, watching her easily get her hidden key and opening the door. Her mouth was practically hanging, mostly because they were in California, huge houses like this costed millions, this was crazy. She had a home theater? All because her dad invented the die? That's awesome... you know... Willow was never one for parties, but next time she had a free crib she might have to hit this new friend of hers up. "How often do you have a free crib?" She asked ever so innocently, breezing through the Netflix account without another thought. Mary must be her mom's name, Will didn't really read into it . "What are you feeling? Action? Horror? What about a good ole fashion chick flick?" She asked half joking, letting out a yawn. She needed more coffee, ugh.
The brunette looked at the couch situation, it was one of those L shaped beauties along with a love seat next to it. Willow plopped on the love seat and cozied in the corner, she really liked the idea of this parody zombie movie. It parodied warm bodies, walking dead, and that one movie with Woody Harrelson. Now to wait for the drinks, hopefully something with caffeine.. or a juice box..
