Fox Burglar (Bjorn)

It was a cool night in Jump City, a new exhibit on Asian crafts had opened at the Museum of Cultures on Starfire Avenue. The stars and moon were shining bright above the city and...it was strangely quiet, the air was still and the only things moving around were the rats that lived in the nearby alleyways.

Due to the various events happening in the city, Mal leaving HIVE to their own devices and thus, so far nothing productive had really been done. Some people had to survive on what little income they were getting from their businesses. One such person was Kitsune, an obvious codename to those who knew her true identity, but for those who didn't, she was a mere thief of the night.

Her outfit consisted of a short kimono-like dress with long sleeves that held the tools that she might need, she also wore a mask that covered her face and distracted the view of her actual ears as well as her hair in a long plait to avoid her hair getting caught on anything.

Casually walking into an alleyway she climbed up to one of the air-vents that lead out from the museum, grabbing a crowbar she had brought with her and prying it off before discarding the crowbar and climbing into it, changing to her fox form she squeezed through the vents quietly and used her senses to navigate through the vents, she would be able to smell such places as the café which was the thing she headed towards.

Kitsune would exit the vents into the kitchen and kept in the darkness, avoiding the cameras and keeping low, creeping behind things as she kept her senses on alert, she hadn't seen any security guards yet which worried her a little, they should have been patrolling yet she saw nothing so she thought it best to stay hidden and make her way to the Asian exhibit. She was planning to grab what she could then use her clones to confuse whatever guards there were so she could make a quick escape, eventually planning to sell the items on the black market.

But for now she crept around in the shadows in her fox form, trying her best to avoid the cameras.

That was the moment he appeared before her. His wings beating the air as moonlight gleamed off polished white fangs. Just above his gums she'd see spots open in his flesh hear the distinct rush of air as the monster sniffed. He grumbled and settled to the ground, six talons settling on the tiles as he glanced around. The large bat like wings folded up to his sides and the thick tail laid lazily on the ground. He began walking along the ground slowly.

He darted around a display suddenly across the hall from here. "Here puppy~ I can smell you. I'm hungry too." he ran a tongue along his fangs as he looked around for his prey. Nina would realize in an instant this thing is why they had no security patrols. It hadn't found her but it could tell she was around.

Bjorn was indeed hungry he'd forgotten to eat in the last half hour and his over active belly was growling up a storm. He could swear it was going to eat itself if he didn't find a snack soon. The claws clicked along the ground as he walked being careful not to scratch or damage the surface. Tonight would have just gotten much more complicated for the one called Kitsune.

Kitsune went wide-eyed when she saw the creature 'I suppose hiring an alien man-eating creature would be smarter than security guards' she thought, she tried to come up with a plan and decided that first of all...she needed to feed the creature, perhaps if he was full then he wouldn't eat her.

She carefully made her way back to the café's kitchen and turned to her human form, using what there was available to start cooking some burgers for him, she tried to keep quiet but the sizzling of the burgers on the grill made a loud noise, but she didn't panic or worry. Hopefully by the time he got to her, the burgers would be done and ready to serve to him, she decided to grill five burgers and if he wanted anymore then the freezer seemed to have plenty.

She would keep flipping the burgers and waited, hopefully he wouldn't come up from behind her and just eat her there and then. Maybe if she filled his belly she would then be able to make a run for the exhibit and grab some things before escaping...or perhaps she'd have just enough time to escape.

It didn't take long at all for the clatter of talons to make it's way near. She would see him on the counter and liked his teeth. "There you is! Only bad people is in here at night, and I is allowed to eats bad people" Bjorn hopped down on the correct side of the counter and started over. Then he stopped suddenly.

She could hear him sniffing the air licking his fangs and finally jumping up into the air and beating his wings as he hovered there. Bjorn turned toward the grill and drooled a long drop that hissed a little on the floor. "You has meats cooking... why you has meats cooking, is they yous?" he landed on the wall gripping its surface with his talons.

Bjorn's eyes looked at her without rotating his head, it was a move truly alien. His tail hung in the air ahead of him dangling and swaying slightly. It flexed and twitched with each pop of the grease.

Kitsune had heard Bjorn and became a little scared as he suddenly approached, but then he began to speak and she found it adorable "I'm not a bad person cutie, it's just that I wanted to avoid the crowds during the day that's all, so I can look at the exhibits better without all the people around" she lied but it would sound genuine.

She then watched him moving around and chuckled at his question "not at all hun, I expected you'd come over and try to eat me so I decided to cook you some food that wasn't me instead, I heard your rumbly tummy too so I thought that I better cook you something to eat" she said sweetly.

Once they had finished cooking, Kitsune would put the thick, juicy burgers onto a plate and slid them across the floor to Bjorn "they're all yours cutie~" she said smiling under her mask.

Bjorn listened to her in mild confusion, she said they weren't hers but were his. Did that mean she brought them but she was going to give them away? He figured that must be the case. The little creature licked his lips and nodded saying. "Well I isn't allowed to lets people in so I is gonna have to escort you if you is just looking."

He flapped his way down to them and had the three of them gone in just three quick bites. "They is good. Now you show me where you was going." He flew at her suddenly and rolled on his back tucking his wings to hit her chest gently thinking she'd catch him. He was curious what the nice lady wanted here and why her face was so funny looking.

Kitsune watched Bjorn eat the food happily, she would then catch him in her arms and hold him gently, now that he was against her chest he would be able to see under her mask and see that the mask wasn't her true face.

She nodded when Bjorn told her to show him what she wanted to see "okay" she said softly before she walked towards the exhibit, it seemed she had no chance of stealing anything now but at least she'd leave with her life, and perhaps a powerful friend.

She would walk to the Asian exhibit "this is it, it displays some things of my ancestor's land, my mother moved away from there before I was born, but I still like to go there and visit that land sometimes, but now I'm very low on money and can't visit there anymore, so the only thing that reminds me of there are objects from there like this" she told him, holding him in her arms gently as she stared at a lacquer jewellery box that was behind a glass case, she would also look at the other items on display like combs and swords and such.

"So you see this is why I wanted to come here at night, just so I could see the things that are special to me" she told Bjorn before looking at him with a soft look of slight sadness.

Bjorn listened intently for a moment taking in what she said and asked. "What is mother? Ancestor?" The question was simple but at the same time spoke of a profound absense in Bjorn's life. He saw her sadness and listened to the explanation of the two questions before asking. "So ancestor is like you's family and dead people? That means this stuff be's yours then... They stoles it from you!" he declared in fury. They had lied to him told him it was theirs! But here was someone with a claim to it already.

Bjorn rolled over and hissed loudly he stared at a camera and flew at it biting down on the plastic object and tearing it from the wall with a mighty yank. It sailed across the room and hit a display case smashing it open. An alarm sounded and Bjorn screamed his fury at them. He flew down to Nina and said. "Take what family's and be leaving with me. They is liars!"

Nina blinked in shock, this was actually happening? Wow...this went way better than expected. She hurried over to the broken display case then smashed the other ones open and grabbed all that she could fit in her kimono sleeves and all that she could carry in her arms "lets hurry friend! Before the actual police get here!" she said as she hurried to the front doors and attempted to smash the glass with one of the katana sheaths, but she didn't get very far.

Bjorn flew after her in a hurry when he mentioned a need to get away. He had no idea why he'd need to, he'd never had issues with the cops so the concept was foreign to him. Still they usually knew more than he did so he'd give it a shot. He saw her try to smash through the door and got no where. So the little beast flew up and dove for the doors curling up and hurtling through like a cannon ball. He skidded across his back on the pavement and rolled over shaking his head slightly from the impact. He would follow her back to where ever they were heading.

Kitsune covered her face a little when Bjorn smashed through the door and she would start to run from the museum, she would of course check if Bjorn was following her and patted her back so he could ride on her back. Kitsune would keep to the shadows and head towards her house, creating clones to carry the items equally so it would be easier for her to manoeuvre around.

Once she got to the alleyway near her store she would climb onto the rooftops and enter from the rooftop of the store, heading down into her basement and putting the items carefully around the room which looked like it would accommodate guests, it had a pool table and a bar and a TV as well as a table surrounded in chairs which looked like for important meetings. She knew that she couldn't let Bjorn know what she actually planned to do with the artefacts so she would have to keep improvising, but luckily he seemed to be easy to lie to, she gave a sigh of relief that she had managed to get everything back without being followed, for once everything had seemed to go okay, for now anyway. She just needed to keep up the façade for Bjorn.

Bjorn caught on her back or one of her backs. His head snapped this way and that looking at the various clones. Bjorn didn't ask about it and just rode her back til they got to her house. He dropped down and flew around the room quickly. Over and over her flew in circles before finally landing on the pool table looking up at her.

Bjorn grinned and sniffed the air his gums opening up again as the air filtered through the holes in his flesh. He laid down and asked. "What you be doing with family stuffs?" His question was direct, like he had a good feeling he knew something was up. In reality he was just as curious as a 4 year old.

Nina would watch Bjorn fly around in circles and smiled at him when he settled on the pool table and asked his question "I'll be sending them back home to Japan where they belong, uncle Toji will finally have his favourite sword back" she said happily "and my grandmother will finally have her jewellery box back too! It's all thanks to you! I'll make sure to mention that you helped me get the things back in the letter I send home to them" she told him as she arranged the items and her clones would poof away, leaving no sign they were even there.

Bjorn listened to her and then the others were gone. He threw himself over and began sniffing the ground where she had vanished from. He hissed a little when he couldn't find her. "Your sister went away!" He looked up at her quickly and flew to sniff the door. "We have to find her!"

The little beast thought her clones were her family. The hero in him told him he needed to find them for her. Someone a villainous man had clearly come after her family in revenge!

Nina blinked when Bjorn seemed to get worried about her "sisters", she smiled softly at him and walked over to him "it's okay, they're safe, their energy came back into me so they're safe and sound inside my body" she explained to him, deciding not to try and explain how her clones actually worked, it was too complicated and even she didn't fully understand how it worked herself.

She held out her arms for Bjorn to fly into "come now, lets get you some rest, you must be sleepy from all that heroic stuff you did tonight" she said in a sweet and kind tone, a tone that was gentle to the ears and comforting. She would wait to see if he jumped into her arms or not then whether he did or not, she would open the door and start to head up to the first floor, the living area. Nina would then walk into the kitchen and grab a packet of biscuits before heading to her bedroom.
