The recruit (Full)

Tiberius had entered the building under the assistance of some tech from the guild he had to compliment the security measures but it's hard to spot a man with an active camouflage system. Tiberius had tailed another in and passed through the metal detector without issue since he had no metal on him. He made his way through the casino with a mild irritation at the lack of control the people throwing themselves at chaos. Something that stuck in the lord of order's head.

Finally he arrived at the doorway, it wasn't hard for an agent to pick the lock but unfortunately he was on his own. He grabbed the handle and just crushed it before pushing the door open. He closed it most of the way back before the camouflage system ran out. All that was left to do was wait, his newest 'acquisition' had earned the mans respect with the control of his own forces and maintaining a front.

Tiberius passed the wait by just going over what materials he could find around the office. When Twisted Fate arrived he'd find a giant beetle sitting at his desk reading his books. A smirk etched permanently into the chitinous face. Tib would gesture to one of the seats in front of the desk without looking up, too used to being in situations like this.

By the time Remy had returned to his casino, he was feeling pretty good about himself. Beat down some poor fool who didn't have the money to back his obsessive gambling? Check. Not his fault the man couldn't put a lock on his wallet. The moment he walked in though, that omnipresent detection kicked in. Something was way off. He grabbed one of his guards, a man wearing a suit that kept the heat his body created in check. Couldn't have him scorching the casino floor now can we?

Remy had a blue card in his hand when he reached his office door and kicked it open, immediately holding it toward where the beetle was seated, as if he knew he was there. "You were worth every cent. Truly you were." He told the guard irritably, never turning his attention from the man in the suit. With a bit of concentration, it wasn't hard to figure out that Tiberius was nothing more than a man in a suit of armor. Simple enough. "Now I'm gonna say this once. You're going to exit that suit, real calm and orderly like, and then we're gonna escort you out of my casino. Ya get me?"

Twisted Fate was rarely charitable. Especially to someone he didn't know. Especially when that somebody he didn't know wasn't willing to show their real face to him. ESPECIALLY when that somebody he didn't know who wouldn't show their face to him broke the knob of his fancy door.

Tiberius looked up and said calmly. "That would be a mistake on your part Mr Estau. You see I'm coming here with an offer of recruitment into the big leagues. This is no chance meeting my young man. Now take a seat and we'll discuss a group you've probably never heard of. I am the ring leader of the gang called HIVE, currently we're the most powerful force in this city. My goal is to make us stronger." The insect rose from the chair not bothering to wonder how he knew he was in his armor. It didn't matter getting him out of it would be a feat of epic porportions.

Tiberius turned the ledger around and said. "I can get your income doubled from this casino without impacting your ability to run it. You'll have access to technology and allies with abilities unlike anything you've dreamed. Imagine it Remy, three times the money you're making now, your jobs 70% easier to pull. And if you get caught... monstrous allies who can chew up and spit any opponent out like so much gum."

He paused now to gauge the man's reaction and just stood behind the desk black eyes locked on him. The dual minds working to note any change in his demeanor. He moved one hand over to the computer and began typing on it pulling up a live orbital feed of the city. He zoomed it in on their current location just as a show of what level of technology he truly had. Nothing he'd said was a lie, though it was short of the true potential, no point in showing him all the cards yet.

Remy wasn't entirely convinced for a while, holding the blue card in front of him as he moved behind his desk and finally taking a seat, hiding it under his sleeve once more. "Interesting." Was all he had to say on the matter. Profits increasing was never a bad sign. Maybe the man in the suit knew what he was talking about.

Remy smiled into his hands and shooed away the guard he had brought with him. "You've peaked my interest, my friend." An organization Remy hadn't heard of? No, Remy knew a lot of things had his own sources. He wasn't aware the organization was reforming though. Perhaps a new one under the same name? The same motives, surely. Otherwise a man of his own 'talents' wouldn't be sought out like this. "Alright. I'm interested in your little beehive. But...if you wanted to speak with me, I take appointments." He chuckled, gesturing toward the door.

Tiberius said looking over at Remy and said seriously. "I won't be coming back here. This place is beneath me. If you want to meet with your peers you will meet in our place. Come to the oil rig outside of town. When you get there wait for the elevator and we'll see then." He stood and walked around the desk. He walked out and looked back over his shoulder.

The insect grinned and said. "Oh and come alone. Tell anyone about this meeting.... well I snuck in here once. And I'm not stealthy I'm the worst in staying hidden. My soldiers will wipe out everything. Your accounts will empty, everything will be gone. We are everywhere." He left the building going back to his 'palace'

Remy wasn't feeling entirely confident about the presence of Tiberius. The man in the suit seemed to have quite the superiority complex. He was strong. He had abilities, connections, but it's hard to do anything with that to a man who can almost see the future. The ultimate gambler is difficult to outfight that way. But nonetheless, he could be a very powerful ally...and the two men were very alike in many ways. This could only be beneficial if played correctly...

Within the next 10 hours, Remy was standing on the oil rig platform. He'd "borrowed" a boat from a nearby fisherman using his gold card. No reason to hurt the gent. Besides, the boat would be returned to him. Couldn't hurt someone else's business, now could we? Now he just had to wait at this elevator that would supposedly come. But if he'd been lied to...oh how gruesome a scene it would be...

The elevator did arrive the doors sliding open. Inside a display lit up saying. "Deposit all electronics in the overhead containment." The elevator doors would close the second Remy stepped inside. Someone was manually running the elevator itself. They manually ran it the only access in or out wasn't automated. A security measure that had been taken very seriously. It took three keys to get in the room. Three physical keys that weren't onsite. They could be obtained by a member without much fuss but it'd make an intruders job nearly impossible even if they managed to get inside.

The operator gave 30 seconds for Remy to deposit anything and reseal the hatch. Then it started down, they would pass through an EM field and then it would happen. The field that sapped the powers of metahumans and magic. The doors would open and Tiberius would be waiting in the lobby.

Remy hadn't been idiotic enough to bring anything valuable. Just himself and his decks. So after a few minutes of leaning on the wall of the elevator, it began to descend and he sighed. He knew something was about to pass over him. He couldn't tell what though, some form of field. An EMP? No, didn't have the same properties. And he couldn't see anything beyond it either. Then it all went blank and he smirked. Of course.

The doors opened and he gave Tiberius a nod of respect. "So, you figured out how to negate magic eh? Hmph...I can't help but respect that." He stepped out, testing the field with his gold card, turning it over in his hand and trying to activate it. Nothing. And that was his strongest incantation. "I give credit where it's due, I'm impressed. I really am."

Tiberius said seriously. "I'm not a gambler Remy. I'm a master of order, chance sickens me. But you aren't a chance. You are an assurance. Stack the deck in my favor and I will make money fall in your lap. Follow me." He walked through the facility showing him the high tech resources and tools that would be available here. Everything would be available, a full lab to do anything. He moved through to the main meeting room and said. "This is where we meet to discuss jobs. Some others may arrive soon."

There was barely a moment that passed where the base would be completely empty, and now was no exception. Quinn was about, for once with nothing to do. Usually Quinn would find herself occupied by a task set by either the HIVE or the Guild, but for a brief moment, she had time to herself. The Snake-like assassin could be found sat on one of the chairs in the meeting room, one leg crossed over the other as she had her feet propped up onto the table. Quinn was reading a newspaper, catching up on what recent events had transpired - whether relevant to the HIVE or not. She had heard some mumbling, the voice of Tiberius. But knew to remain quiet, to only speak when spoken too. The last thing she needs as of late, is to fall into Tiberius' bad books.

Nina was also around Hive, drinking a mug of imported British tea as she sat watching an anime on her portable DVD player with her earphones in, just relaxing. She still couldn't stand being alone in the comic store.

She was almost over her grief with Ixen but it still made her feel uneasy to think about it, hence why she was seen at Hive more often than not now. Taking another sip while laid on her front on the sofa in the kitchen/living room area, she didn't even notice Tib and the newcomer walking and talking.

Kris was drinking coffee in a chair near Quinn, he was in basketball shorts and a tank top. Kris was listening to music and doing some weapon maintenance, but the moment Tib walked in with the new guy, Kris yelled out to everyone, "If anyone cares, we've got another Proby!" He then went back to keeping his weapons clean.

Remy followed, taking off his hat to reveal his eyes. Unlike before, they were now blue, making it evident that the magic had indeed been suppressed from him. "Not a gambling man? That's fine. Neither am I. Gambling implies I could lose, and I've never once played a fair game."

When he entered the room he raised an eyebrow. "No wonder you asked me to join you. A bunch of kids?" He chuckled and nodded to Kris. "I take it this is the loud one...joy." Every group has one...every single one.

Tiberius nodded and and said. "Indeed this is the loud one. Loves his guns. Each one of these are my soldiers. And they have all proven themselves. These kids are some of the most powerful beings you can meet." Tiberius walked over and sat by Quinn he gestured to a seat beside her for Remy.

Tiberius would lean back and stretch looking around at Kris and shaking his head. "I personally designed three of the kids in this group, right from their dna up. Then trained them into living weapons. Some have required a little more training but what knife doesn't eventually need resharpened eh?" He would start pulling up schematics and printed out a map for Remy of the base. He didn't want the newcomer lost in a maze of tunnels and corridors.

Wonderful analogy there. Looks can be deceiving, most certainly. Seems like the newcomer may have a few surprises when it comes to seeing the 'kids' out on a mission. As Kris had spoken, rather loudly, and quite rudely (He could of whispered, okay?); Quinn would lower her newspaper slightly, shooting a glance over to the newbie. Not a word said, just a look. A smile is all she would offer before raising the newspaper once more, continuing her 'catch up' with recent events.
