the girl singing in the woods.

Rose is in the small patch of woods near the park. she is wearing a pair of dark green denim jeans and a white tshirt with a green design on the front. and is sat under a weeping willow that is swaying in the wind that is coming out of her hand. she is singing a tune to calm her nerves about moving to a new town but it is only making her feel lonely. she then sighs as she stops using her air magic and just sings the soft celtic tune she knows and loves and closes her eyes.

Kane was taking some well needed time off this weekend, some thug had managed to get a lucky shot at his leg. It wasn't serious, but Kane did need to take it easy a bit. He wouldn't go on patrol today, but if something came up he would still react to it. That being said, he wasn't near the city at all, he was in the park, near the woods, taking a walk.

He heard a voice, surprised to hear someone singing so far from civilisation, he looked around and followed the source of the voice. He was curious, plus the girl had a nice sounding voice. He came into the clearing, seeing the girl herself, she was pretty. That being said, Kane realised how weird it would probably look to the girl, to just see some guy coming out and listening to her music.

Rose not noticing that someone walked through into her clearing, keeps singing. Then she stands up and lifts her hand and makes a small ball of fire appear and she changes the shape of it into a wolf jumping around. then into a bird flying up high and then she turnes and it disappears as she sees that someone was standing there. her hands drop to her sides and she steps back and bumps against the tree she then ducks behind it scared. "w-who are y-you?" she asks nervously as she peeks around the tree.

The girl didn't seem to notice Kane as she just kept on singing. Although maybe she just chose to ignore him is all, he wasn't exactly the kind of guy who brought loads of attention to himself so he wasn't complaining. He then watched in awe as she summoned fire and started to practice her use of it, changing its shape into different animals.

The girl then noticed Kane and became quite startled, obviously she had no idea that there was even anyone there. She backed away in fear, hiding behind the tree, she asked who he was Uh-umm... sorry f-for st-startling you... I-I h-h-heard you s-sing... y-you're really g-g-g-good... He seemed quite flustered, even though there was seemingly no reason for him to be so.

Rose hears him and then slowly comes out of her spot from behind the tree. "y-you really liked it?" she asked. she then walks out slowly into the ceter of the clearing. "my name is R-rose what's yours?"

After hearing the compliment, she seemed to become a little more comfortable and came out from behind the tree, asking if he liked it Uhmm... y-yeah... you h-ha-have a r-r-really nice voice... He said, failing to look her in the eyes as she spoke I-I'm K-k-kane... Unlike her, he showed no signs of coming any closer, choosing to keep his distance instead.

Rose smiles softly "Kane, thats a nice name t-thank you for the compliment" she says softly looking down at her feet that suddenly were shifting the wieght from side to side

Kane merely nodded in response to her thanking him and being nice about his name, giving her a soft smile. Then there was silence for a moment, followed with Kane coughing So... um... h-how's i-it like? B-be-being a M-m-meta...? he himself was a Meta, but she didn't know that. He was actually quite interested in the answer, no matter who he asks.

rose looks down in thought but looks to the side with a sad look "i love my meta powers but i also hate them......they have done nothing but cause problems for me..........i-i moved from every place i lived because people would try to kill me or use me for my powers and ended killing my parents in the process....they died when i was 11 and i have been on my own ever since" she says with a hint of pain in her voice she turns away from Kane so he does not see her tears but her soft sobs are heard by the boy.

Rose explained how her powers made people constantly go after her, trying to kill or manipulate her, then said how as a result of this her parents were killed. It very obviously hurt her to talk about it, Kane could hear her sobbing even from this far away. Kane came closer, and if she let him he would try to comfort her with a hug I-I-I'm s-sorry.

Rose sniffs and wipes her eyes as she feels arms wrap around her. she leans into the hug and shakes her head "no no it's alright i still have a hard time talking about it. but thank you for listening to me i appreciate it" she says as she turns and hugs Kane back

Rose thanked him for listening to her, returning the hug I-it's n-no pr-prob-problem... he truly meant it, people who aren't good at talking are usually the best listeners. Kane himself had never had those problems, having grown up in Jump City, where those that are usually considered freaks in other places were heroes that risked their lives for the greater good. So he couldn't relate to her pain, but he could tell it was there and that was all he needed to know. He'd keep a hold on her for as long as she needed, but once she wanted to break it up he would let go on the spot.

Rose smiles softly as she pulls back "you know what they say about the shy types?" she asks and then adds "they end up being the ones most likely to be the best at being friends ......or boyfriends" she whispers the last part but loud enough for him to hear

Kane let go of her as she pulled back, she then said that shy types made good friends, and boyfriends. For a second, Kane didn't register that he'd hear it, then he seemed kind of shocked. He looked at his shoes awkwardly, not quite knowing what to say to that. Not that Kane's great with words anyway.

"i-i'm sorry that was u-uh a little wierd of me to say. i....uh .........i'm sorry" rose says but then turns her head away as her whole face heats up. "i-is it alright i-if i get something t-to eat p-please" she asks nervously.
