Feline Fit! (Ninja)

JaK and Haruhi were busy setting up equipment and cleaning up her old spot. The other band members were either coming later or had already helped earlier, but JaK stuck around to help out. In a way he had started the band and it could be considered his group, but really he just felt he took the first step to something bigger.

As JaK carried in a heavy box he dropped it, knocking off a cloth from a training dummy. JaK stared at the dummy and then playfully threw a mock jab at it and continued to do so switching hands, but it was clear he didn't even really know how to throw a punch. He just slugged things.He was the street brawler type.

Haruhi was excited how the place was turning out. The studio was starting to look alive again. Of course it didn't look like a kickboxing studio per-say because all of the equipment and arenas were either taken out, shoved in the closets, or taken out.
Haruhi was sweeping the dirt, dust and rubble when she heard a thud and rattling sound as if a box had been dropped. She approached where she had heard the noise and saw Jak throwing some punches to one of the uncovered dummies. She watched him for a bit before chuckling. "You'll never get far in a fight with those kind of hits." She teased as she walked up to him.

JaK was so into his horsing around he didn't even notice the blonde girl's approach. He stopped, shook his head while looking at the ground and smiled. "I do pretty well in a scrap." He informed her. He jumped up and back kicked the dummy over. "See." He said putting his hands behind his head. "I got a ton of moves."

"Those are some moves alright." She said a little sarcastic. "But like I said, you won't get far. Your throws are too sloppy, too predictable." She shifted her weight onto one leg and crossed her arms, "Here I'll give you a little test. Hit me." She grinned, "Don't worry, I doubt you'll even land it." She said just in case he hesitated or didn't feel right, like most guys, on hitting a girl. "Come on, show me that those moves of yours work." She urged him on.

JaK looked at her wide eyed for a moment, but then just shook his head while looking down. "Well I can't very well back down from such a petitie woman." He said curling his hand into a fist. "ok, but don't blame me when your pretty face gets messed up.

JaK stood idly for a moment, but then lunged forward with a left hook.

"I'm not worried." She smiled slyly as she saw him lunge at her with a left hook. As his fist approached her, she ducked slightly to his right and took a step towards him. At that same second she grabbed his wrist and dug her shoulder into his chest, kicking his left ankle out of balance, and threw him over her shoulder and onto the floor on his back. Once he was down she straightened up and put both her hands on her hips. She chuckled as she looked down at him. "I told you, too predictable."

JaK took a deep breath. "ughh..ok, lets try that again!" JaK kipped up and ran at her again, this time throwing four punches.

Haruhi took her stance as she saw him get up and go for it again. Instead of just throwing one hit, he threw four, which Haruhi easily ducked and weaved through. "My turn, no?" She smirked as she blocked his fourth punch by hitting his wrist with her arm. Her hand curled up into a fist as she went in with a uppercut right under his jaw. She might be petite and small, but she was stronger than than she looked.

JaK was hit hard, and stumbled. He wiped his mouth. "Alright! It's on." JaK yelled and charged again.

The result was JaK landing on his back every, single, time.

Finally, JaK groaned as he slowly got up from being thrown to the floor again. "Ok, so you can do a few tricks."

Haruhi giggled as it looked like he was going to give up trying. Which was good, it would give her a chance to explain now. "Look it's like I keep telling you, your movements, they're too predictable. Too sloppy." Haruhi said as she crossed her arms again. "Your stance, your throws. You need to practice your timing a bit more too." She stretched her arms up over her head and smiled as she went over to the lunch pack she had brought just incase her group got hungry or thirsty while cleaning. She opened it and pulled out a couple of water bottles, throwing one over at Jak.

JaK just laid there as she spoke...Then as the water bottle flew he smirked, swallowing his pride. JaK caught the water bottle without even sitting up and then spoke. "Show me." The boy sat up and pointed at her. "Then show me then...I wanna know how to properly attack and defend myself."

As Haruhi took a drink she raised an eyebrow at him. "You want me to teach you? Alright, I'll do it." She shrugged as she walked up to him, "But it won't be easy, and it'll take time." She pointed her water bottle down at him. "First, promise you won't whine or quit the first day it starts getting hard." She said on a serious note. "I'll only teach you if you really are that determined to learn."

"I'm a pretty quick study." JaK said chugging the water. "And I got a pretty hard head and body, so feel free to beat into it everything you know." JaK got up and dusted himself off. "When do we start?"

"Well we have time right now don't we?" And so it began, their fighting sessions started and continued everyday, whether it was before or after band practice, or just on their free time.
She would teach him everything from proper stances and postures, to effecient kicks and punches, and even grappling and throwing. The first few lessons she still spent most of her time chuckling as he would still spend most of the time with his back or rump on the floor, but as the teaching continued, Progress could easily be spotted.

The training was furious. No one had ever hit JaK so hard. It was clear Haruhi was not human, but neither was JaK fully. He could take her blows without being knocked out. And she wasn't exactly holding back, nor was he.

JaK had begun to gain a mutual respect for Haruhi during this time. While he was adjusting quickly, and able to return blows, his form was still sloppy. JaK was always into being flashy over being solid with the basics.

It was clear JaK was more interested in the art of combat, more than the meaning behind the art/style itself.

"Ughh..." JaK wiped blood from his mouth, rising to his feet. "Getting tired?" He said as he stood straight up having healed from their last encounter. He had no shirt anymore, and no shoes on.
