The Princess and the Runaway (Alpha)

Maximus seemed nervous. He even knocked his chair over by standing up. Still, it seemed the man had found his resolve. Perhaps Jemmy hadn't needed to push so hard, but Maximus didn't seem angry at her, either. Finally, Jemmy would get her show. If Maximus died in the process, then at least it would be entertaining.

Jemmy reached over and touched Maximus with the tip of her finger. In an instant, they were transported to a completely different surrounding. They were in the middle of the city, and the sandstorm had conveniently just ended. People were coming back outside again: children to play, elders to relax, and slaves, oh so many slaves, to work.

Jemmy flashed her yellow teeth at Maximus in a huge smile. "Good luck. I'll be watching." The little girl walked over to the shade of a tree and sat on a nearby rock. She ignored the odd looks she was getting. Those eyes wouldn't be focusing on her for much longer.

The guard was glad that the sandstorm had blown over fairly quickly. He held his spear in one of his crossed arms as he leaned against a building. The guard wasn't wearing much armor, but his muscles were his defense. Anyone who wanted to start trouble took one look at his muscles and then stopped thinking such villainous thoughts. The number of fights his muscles alone had prevented made it the best armor in town.

But now a nervous man was walking up to him. Only a few people ever walked up to the guard, and all of them had a good reason. This man better have a good reason. He did have some muscles, but they weren't enough of a reason.

The guard looked down at the man who wanted to ask a question. The guard shrugged. "Go ahead. Ask all the questions you want."

Of course, there was nowhere for the slaves to go. Not unless they were willing to travel many miles to the next village. There really wasn't any better place for them to live than here. All that was needed was a change in the order of things. More accurately, the amount of Order here had to be reduced, and now that had been accomplished.

Jemmy watched this giant move and act, fascinated. She hadn't seen somebody this big in quite some time. To think a human could transform into something like that was amazing. Jemmy grinned. She had not been disappointed. This day had been good fun. The next few days would be pure Chaos in this village as slaves and masters struggled for control, as slaves inevitably won thanks to the lessened number of guards, and as they used this new freedom to take what they wanted from others.

All in a day's work. But Jemmy had more work to do. She had a queen to kill. Blowing Maximus a farewell kiss, she disappeared, teleporting somewhere far, far away.
