When weeds attack! [open]

It started out as a pretty normal day for some, but for Shy, it was anything but normal lately. He was walking behind what was easily a stereotypical wizard- complete with the pointy hat. While this would be grounds for amusement, Shy learned really quickly that looks were deceiving in more then one way. The first one was when he first met the eccentric old wizard.

The second was the days to follow when he witnessed what kind of power the old fart had at his finger tips. So why were they here at the park? Well, they were on the way back home after some "grocery" shopping. Nothing weird about that right? Well... items like Vampire Dust, weird glowing mushrooms, and plants he'd never heard of- put into question what the wizard was up to.

"...which is they the two should NEVER mix under any circumstances," the old wizard rambled on. Shy had only been partially listening, mostly thinking about what he should do for his Orc warrior on a game he had been playing. Actually he had been playing between a thief and mage aswell. Shy always had trouble sticking to one character for long periods of time.

"Did you hear that?" the old wizard asked, suddenly coming to a stop. Shy obviously heard nothing, but the wizard seemed quite convinced that he had heard something. What that something was remained to be seen as he drifted off toward some plants. "Oh how sad... this poor little creature is being crowded out by the others," the wizard remarked.

It took Shy a moment to peer over the bags he had been carrying before he saw what the old fart was referring to. It was a Venus fly trap that looked smaller and more sickly then the others. He guessed that was alittle sad, but it was just a plant. Shy was more concerned with what may or may not happen from the wizard's rare display of compassion. Nothing good could come from this right?

"Don't worry little fellow, I know what it's like to be shunned by my peers aswell. But don't you worry, we'll soon fix that now won't we?" the wizard continued, pulling out an ornate wand. Yup, this wasn't going to end well for anyone. Before Shy could protest, the wizard began chanting some kind of incantation. Did it suddenly get darker or was that his imagination?

Energy trailed as he chanted, followed by waving his wand around as if he was stirring the magical energy over his head. With one waving sweep of his wand, magical energy bathed across the plants but for some reason only affected the plant he had been talking to. It started flashing with colors as he waved his wand back the other way.

"We should probably go now..."Shy suggested more then advised.

"Hold your tongue Steve! There is no cause for alarm," the wizard hissed back at him as a minute or two passed. Nothing happened, the plant didn't even look any- wait... was it moving? It was doing more then just that, it was also growing larger! "YES! ARISE MY FRIEND! RISE AND EXACT REVENGE ON ALL THOSE WHO MOCKED YOU!" the old wizard cackled maniacally as the plant started to quickly grow upwards and around, sprouting massive writhing roots. Were plants supposed to have teeth?

Shy casually inched away from the roots as park goers stared in awe and... concern over the giant monster plant growing in their midst. And then it roared, effectively scaring everyone in the park as it manipulated one of it's root to try and ensnare one of the other park goers. The wizard meanwhile, simply laughed and took to the air with his broom. Wizards don't ride brooms you say? Clearly you know nothing then.

"And you left me behind again... I bet you'd be peeved if I came back without the stuff we bought instead of worrying about my safety," Shy grumbled as the plant seemed to take notice of him. "Uh... nice plant! Look how big my friend made you!" Shy complimented it. It wasn't overly impressed and sent one of it's roots toward him, forcing him to leap over it using his amazing jumping powers...

Kane should have had a normal day at the park, he deserved it after a long night of kicking criminal ass and getting shot at. He wasn't hit, but dodging bullets and kicking asses gets tiring after a while. He needed a nice relaxing lie down after all that. Yep, this was going to be a good... his train of thought was knocked off it's tracks and off a bridge when a giant venus fly trap rose into the air. He sighed and pretended to run away, he wouldn't stand out afterall, everyone was doing it.

He went into a backalley and changed into a hoodie, different jeans and a mask for his face and jumped onto a rooftop. He jumped from roof to roof before coming back so it looked like he had approached from elsewhere. He saw someone snared in roots so he jumped at the root and kicked it in half, the man dropped to the ground and was able to get out of the roots. He thanked Kane and Kane gave him a thumbs up before jumping around, looking for more people who needed his help.

The giant plant monster didn't take too kindly to suddenly being kicked by one of these meats! So it diverted it's attention away from Shy and began trying to ensnare Kane with it's roots... or tried to run him through with one of them. The plant proved to be unusually strong indicated when one of the roots went through the ground as if it were nothing.

Shy had the option to run, or assist one of the local capes. The first one was the coward's way out. So he chose to stick around, but first he had to shove the bags he was carrying into his sack o' plenty before hand. Would only take a moment- oh now the plant just barfed up tons and tons of spores that were now floating gently back down like new fallen snow. That wouldn't end well...

Kane raised his foot in the air and when the roots came at him, he kicked off against the ground and zoomed into the air, avoiding the roots. He kicked off against the air towards the plant and if uninterrupted he would strike a kick against the plants head, if it could be called that. If successful he would bounce off and land on the ground as the spores were barfed into the air.

He didn't know what they would do but it would probably be bad. He raised his foot into the air and kicked the air very rapidly, the wind of his kicks blowing the spores back, focusing on the ones that might hit people.

The plant would defend itself using one of the numerous roots at it's disposal, unable to retaliate with an attack as Kane bounced back. The spores meanwhile, would sprout into more plants. Smaller in scale, but basically identical to the big plant. So it didn't really matter that Kane had pushed them back. Infact, it may have made things slightly worse due to the fact some of them had been pushed away a good distance.

ANYWAY, Shy had finished stowing the goods and summoned his smashing hammer. This was one of those rare moments he wished he had a sword instead. But that's why he also had, FIRE! Shy whipped up a fireball and hurled it at the mass of writhing roots and was rewarded by the plant shrieking in pain. And then he had to jump into the air again to avoid a big root, using it as a spring board that propelled him toward the head. But another root appeared to cut him off, forcing him to use his double jump to get over it... where he was smacked out of the air by another root. Well, that just happened.

"Overgrown weed..." Shy grunted, getting back to his feet with another fireball in hand. The plant rallied to attack him and Kane, twisting some of it's roots together to form a pair of... spears? That it drove toward them. Shy dove out of the air and hit the root cluster with the fireball, lighting more of the plant on fire.

Kane made an annoyed grunt as his efforts proved for naught, he jumped at a mini plant and kicked it, sending it flying. He rolled away from another root and went in a handstand and twirled his legs around him like the blades of a helicopter, sending many mini plants and roots flying away. He cartwheeled to his feet and saw some roots twisting into spears, he avoided it, getting cut a little bit though, and kicked it in the side, the roots exploded apart and were sent flying, some snapping off. He kicked at a mini plant with such force that it flew like a bullet at the main plant.

The mini-plants seemed to be fixated more on Kane then Shy, which was good for Shy. Some collided with the plant and seemed to injure and pissed it off. That was good... and bad. Wait, was that fire? fire crackled out of it's maw as the plant suddenly released a beam of pure energy from it's mouth like godzilla in an attempt to disintergrate Kane. WHAT DID THAT WIZARD DO TO IT?

Well they'd need to kill it before it was revealed to be some kind of hydra. So Shy took action! Leaping recklessly into the mass of writhing roots, using his parkour skills (and hammer) to battle his way toward the center of the mass of roots. He was having problems finding it though, everything moving around was kind of disorientating. So he hurled some fireballs at some incoming roots to try and help clear the way.

The mini-plants ran at Kane, one dived at his chest so he span around and kicked it into orbit, then another tried to tackle him from the legs so he raised one and stomped on it hard. He used the plant as a springboard to jump into the air as one grabbed his legs, clamping onto it with it's mouth, Kane hissed in pain but it didn't stop him from kicking hard so it flew at another plant, taking them both down.

He landed perfectly on his feet, with grace greater than that of a Ballet Dancers, then violently kicked another plant as he saw a bright light. He looked towards the source of the light and saw the huge plant charging up a beam of energy What the hell!?! he gaped as the beam was fired at him. He jumped to the sky and had to kick off against the air to restart his jump twice, but he avoided the beam.

He saw his ally closing in on the plant, a valiant effort, but he seemed to be getting disoriented and started throwing fire around. Kane rebounded off the air towards the plant, kicking off the air to restart his jump when he started slowing down. Some vines flew at him and he rapidly span in mid-air, kicking out to kick them all away. A root flew at Shy, unnoticed by him, but before it could strike him it was landed on by Kane, snapping it in half with a kick. Without announcing his presence to Shy he helped him battle his way to the centre.
