Titans VS Zydon (Zyrax and Yang)

A small Zydon ship descended from the sky, landing on the island where Titan's Tower was located. Every alarm the Tower had was going crazy.
Within the safety of the Tower, the Titans were untouchable. However, staying inside their fortress would be a disgrace, and the Zydon strike team knew this. They called out the Titans, demanding a fight. The doors to Titan's Tower opened, and the young heroes of earth came out to kick the intruders off their island.

The two teams split up to meet their opponents. As it happened, Zyrax and Yang became opponents.

What did it mean to be a warrior? This was the first thought that crossed Zyrax's mind as they descended from their ship and touched down on the island. Surely there was more to it then just fighting your enemy. ANYONE could fight, so what did it mean to be a warrior? Was it something to fight for? Yes, that had to be it. Fighting without reason did not make sense to him.

But why were they fighting, really? He could not speak for the others, clearly, but believed he was fighting for his people. But was that really it? Zyrax cleared his mind as one by one, warriors engaged one another in battle until his came into sight. He quickly recognized her "ranger uniform" and knew exactly who he was fighting. Based solely on what data he had, she "was" their leader. Fitting.

He never bothered engaging his cloaking when he went into battle, there didn't seem to be a need for it as the air around his hands began to quickly drop below freezing. He lanced two cryo-beams from his hands, angling their path in a set of sweeps intended to both form an ice wall  behind her, and freeze her if she allowed herself to be caught in their path.

He then took to the air, effectively putting himself out of range of close combat as he ripped out a chunk of the ground below him and angled it between him and her before hurling it (or what remained of it if she tried shooting at him) right at her.

Yang had exited the tower with the other titans. This should be one of the biggest battles of this conflict. With any luck...there would be no casualties. "Titans! Go!" It seemed fitting for this situation that she use the old order of confrontation that Robin had used for years upon years before her, and she quickly found herself met with one of the higher ranking Zydons. All she'd really gathered on a name was the name 'Vakarian' over some scrambled comms, but she'd learned more than enough of his fighting style based on his past confrontations on earth. Meanwhile Yang had never actually fought with the Zydon head to head, preferring to launch cyber attacks to slow them down and collect as much helpful data as she could. It was what she was good at. Now, she had to put all that work into practice. Best of all, she'd never used all of her powers, in or out of training. It was almost impossible for the Zydon to know her full abilities unless they could read minds. Advantage Yang.

When her adversary launched his first attack, Yang casually sidestepped the beam of ice, allowing the wall to cut her off from her team. She was alone now, but that suited her well enough. She was jarred back to reality by the incoming chunk of stone, and she used it as a platform to flip up toward the alien enemy at a blistering speed. A shotgun shell being fired rang out as her fist rocketed forward at his jaw. This would be a great chance to gauge the Zydon's agility. That had never fully been tested.

Zyrax while launching the rock, had his other free hand prepared for just this kind of situation. Well, actually he had been anticipating a ranged attack, but what he planned would work for this aswell. Mentally releasing the rock after throwing it, his free hand was up in it's place before Yang had launched herself toward him. A telekinetic barrier formed infront of his body, deflecting the shot and also blocking Yang who was now (for this moment) vulnerable to counter attack.

After her fist hit, Zyrax put all of his focus into releasing a close range blast of telekinesis in her direction. He wouldn't be able to get a hold of her due to gravity taking effect. Yes, close range was definitely not a good idea. Not because she was super strong, but because she was fast and had those gauntlets. If he HAD to engage her at close range, he'd have to be careful.

Gathering ice around his hands again, Zyrax began to fall as he lanced two cryo-beam directly into the ground below him in order to create a tall column of ice for him to land on. He was alittle lower then he had been, but Yang would still have to work for getting up close to him. Not wasting time, he attacked Yang again using a cryo-beam per hand in an attempt to freeze her.

Yang dropped to the ground and looked up at the two blasts being sent toward her. Well that's rather difficult to dodge. Instead, she pressed a few buttons on her gauntlets and a huge wall appeared under her feet, rising until she was a decent ways up and the wall was then frozen by the beams of crio energy. With a few more presses of her buttons, she activated the training course and prioritized Zyrax. Hardest setting. "Welcome to the Titans training course. She said, mimicking an announcer. "And nowwwwww...get the #%!$ off my island." With that several towers armed with stun and lethal rounds alike came out of the ground, firing thermal shots to counter his current ice abilities. As he revealed new ones, they would scan and attempt to adapt, just as they would for a Titan daring enough to attempt this setting.

Yang herself then swapped over to her explosive rounds, punching them one after another toward the Zydon elite. Each one was a slug and would hurt like hell if they actually managed to hit him.

If Yang thought this was an episode of Dragonball Z, where an opponent just stood by while their opponent got ready to turn the tables, she was sorely mistaken. So while this 'training ground' came up, Zyrax was already in the midst of tearing his column (or most of it) apart before hurling the pieces right at the newly risen towers while also taking flight again. His targets were those towers, and assuming they were ONLY locked on him, then those ice chunks would probably break most of them.

But assuming they would lock onto the ice chunks, he'd use his beam sword to take as many of them out as he could while staying in flight. He decreased his odds of getting hit by flying as unpredictably as he could. If these turrets were anything like the ones he used to train back home, then they would most likely adjust to fire where he would be. Knowing that, dodging them became considerably easier as long as he knew where each turret was facing.

It still wasn't a walk in the park, but hopefully if those ice chunks didn't break the turrets, they bought him enough time to get close enough to sever two of them in his immediate flight path using his beam sword. Still in flight, he just pictured this just like the training he did back home and continued to dodge their shots as he neared the next turret...

In hindsight, he could just fly over the wall to where the lasers weren't. Sure he'd have to wait for his opponent to get to him, but that was a moot point. Besides, it had been awhile since he had been through an obstacle course- even if it was as primitive as this one.

Yang had hopped down from the wall on the opposite side and peeked around the corner to observe her opponent. Now she had extra data, and only had to lift a finger, perfect! As for the course...oh...well...she'd have Hotwire fix it up later!

Zyrax finished the course in almost record time - almost. Robin still had him beat by a little bit. Shame too, that was impressive. Walking around the wall, Yang was actually clapping slowly and smiling under her hood...even if no one could see it. She couldn't really help...appreciating skill like this. "Not bad. Not bad." She said, her new black gauntlets reactivating and covering her fists again. "Now then...lets get started." She turned her attention to one of the disabled towers, launching a grapple line into it and retracting, swinging up onto a nearby tower and using her weight to topple the tower toward Zyrax, repeating the process repeatedly, firing slugs from her gauntlets whenever she had the chance.

We'll spare you the details of what Zyrax did for the rest of the course to save time, but it qualified to be in it's own action movie. Shame he didn't get the best time- he had been slacking clearly. Either that or he had simply underestimated the difficulty of the course. After more banter from his opponent, he watched her grapple to one of the turrets that she then sent toppling toward him.

Zyrax quickly crouched down, mentally digging into the earth below him as he tore two pillars of stone out of the ground on either side of him as he crossed them in order to catch the falling turret in the notch between them. This was only a temporary solution when Yang started firing, hitting the one pillar protecting him from her and damaging it, followed by a second turret. So, Zyrax's hands started to glow white hot after a couple of seconds as he let loose two thermal beams, using one hand to slice the upper portions of the towers falling toward him, and his second hand to slice the next turret Yang would use to grapple.

And then a slug would graze his side from one of Yang's shots, making him switch back to his telekinesis to fully protect himself as the debris started to kick up smoke all around him. Zyrax switched his cloaking on, and silently moved away from where he was. If he was lucky, she wouldn't have any sensors or vision modes to detect him. His cloaking was still an early prototype, so it was far from perfect as it is...

When or if she shifted her attention elsewhere, he'd strike using a pair of cryo-beams. He already knew fire was useless based on data gathered from their intelligence teams... that and some eye witness reports from other Elects.

Yang lost her line halfway through the grapple and used her freerunning abilities to roll through the landing, completely unharmed and turned to face Zyrax again. Now he's gone. Great, just great. Now she had to track him. Activating her cowl's scanning devices, she didn't see any kind of structure he could have ducked into, and there weren't any new footprints in the dirt...so the obvious solution was cloaking, Yang wasn't far from being able to do the same, so it shouldn't be hard for a hyper advanced alien race to do it, right?

The lack of footprints seemed to hint at the fact that the elect hadn't moved much, and if he had he would make himself visible soon. Instead of taking guesses, Yang fired a small shot onto one of the pillars he'd brought up from the ground and hit the button. In a 6-foot radius, an EMP detonated, frying all the electronics in the A.O.E. With any luck that would reveal him and put an end to this stupid unfair advantage.

((*flips a coin*))

She was observing the area, not that it mattered. He was careful enough to try and overlap what few of his foot prints were there, having to also step on hers. A keen eye would be able to pick out the inconsistency, but that would take time that Yang didn't have. She fired some kind of shot into a pillar that wasn't close enough to him.

He was lucky, as there was around a fifty fifty chance of her catching him or forcing him to break cloaking. Zyrax took this opportunity to gather energy for his cryo beams, breaking his cloaking and "appearing" at Yang's peripheral as he lanced a pair of cryo-beams from his hands directly at her.

Yang's cowl alerted her to the temperature change and she backflipped away from the beam, her body almost igniting beneath her armor, trying to heat it enough to negate any ice that would hit her. Her enhanced speed made her more than fast enough to dodge the beam however, and she used the nearby tower as a springboard, firing her gauntlets backward for a bit more speed and aiming a swing directly at Zyrax's cheek.

(Sorry, the posts must progressively get shorter. It's just the way of the fight scene. haha)

Zyrax had seconds to mentally process Yang dodging his attack, and then go to one of the fallen turret towers (most likely going to spring off of it) before a counter attack was to follow. This was becoming very frustrating, neither of them would land a solid hit on the other if this continued. It was time to do something risky. And seeing her use the tower as a springboard, he knew what he was going to do.

He had only a few options at his disposal, with even less time to pick one. His beam sword could be used to perhaps disable her suit's head piece, IF he was lucky. But it wouldn't really do any real damage because of her durability. He only knew about this durability again from data gathered, but would have already had a good idea based on her tendency to try and get in close to him with her fists using high speed charges. Anything else he could think of in that small time window would do little but hinder her. Freezing her was his only valid option.

Fortunately, she was coming straight toward him. Zyrax seriously doubted that she'd be able to adjust her flight path so quickly. So freezing energies billowed around his hands as she came at him, and he moved back with the punch in order to lessen the blow's power in exchange for being knocked off hi feet. But in doing so, he released TWO point blank blasts from his cryo-beams at Yang before the punch connected.

Yang didn't really have much option when it came to responding to the blast. If she wanted to do anything worthwhile, she'd have to tank the ice...and even then she wasn't sure she could dodge it if she wanted to. The deafening blast of a shotgun came from her left arm as she threw it forward through the cryoblast. The feeling was horrid, yes. But it felt so worth it as the arm froze over, maintaining almost all of its momentum and the ice shattered on the alien.

Making her distance in case he recovered well, she looked down and realized she couldn't feel her arm. She couldn't even move it. Maybe she'd suffered some form of nerve damage? Maybe something was wrong with her muscles? She was far too numb to tell. For now, she'd just have to fight through the pain.

Yang sighed in relief as Zyrax fell to the ground, bleeding. She may have gone a little overboard, especially with her arm having been encased in ice, but nonetheless the fight was over. Thank god. She tried to move her arm again, nothing. She heated up her body, but her arm wouldn't heat up. That's...not a good sign.

She sighed and went to activate her communicator in her gauntlet, realizing it was in her left gauntlet...%#!@. After managing to get back to the stairs near the tower, she kneeled down and draped her arm over her knee, getting it close enough to speak. "Guys? I'm uh...I'm done...but my arm is um...I could use some help." She said, leaning against the wall, prying off the leather of her armor. Her skin was almost blue, despite trying to heat itself. This isn't good.

Bow was at the Soup Kitchen when she got the call. She didn't usually listen to the communicator because she knew that the team could handle themselves, but this time was different. It was Yang on the other end of that line and she sounded...bad. Rain didn't hesitate as she threw her apron off and explained the situation to her manager vaguely. Of course she said to go and Bow flew out the door.

Within five minutes, she was picking Yang up in her arms, panicking as she couldn't even think clearly. The only thing on her mind was the way her arm looked. "I'm taking you to the hospital! No ifs, ands, or buts! You got me!?" The girl was instantly in the air again and speeding off to the nearest hospital.

Once there, she got Yang into a room and explained to the nurse as best she could. She actually lied and said that she was Yang's sister, so that they wouldn't kick her out of the room. It wasn't like it really mattered, right? All that she cared about right now was the girl in front of her. She kept repeating to not only reassure Yang, but also herself. "It'll be okay... It'll all work out... I'm here for you... I won't let them hurt you..."
