It really had not been incredibly that long, barely a couple weeks, since Najm had moved to Jump City. The young eastern girl was having next to no troubles adjusting to the place financially. That was to be expected, of course, when you have a father as rich and loving as hers, he had made all the preparations needed to make sure her daughter did not suffer any difficulties during her heroine life. It rather put her on the edge; most parents did not allow their children to go risking their lives, but her father had complete confidence in her and trusted that she could use her gifts wisely. It sparked a desire of gratitude in Najm, who had only now begun to realize that she had taken her father's kindness for granted, especially after her mother's passing. She had to make it up to him, she just knew it.

She had only begun her career as a superheroine a few days ago after properly settling in Jump, but had so far received minimal recognition. With how many heroes flying around, she should have expected that much. Besides, there were lots of metamorphs here, apparently and it was even harder for them to receive any sort of recognition. Najm quickly moved that thought aside, though, raising a hand to tuck a lock of black hair behind her ear as the soothing coastal winds caressed her pale skin. She did not come here to become famous. She wanted to use her powers to help people; that was why she was here.

Her opportunity would come soon enough, when her extraordinarily powerful senses picked up a strange odor in the air. She dismissed it to some kind of pheromones that animals released. It was only when her sharp ears picked up the sounds of struggling and yelling in the background did she realize something was up. Time for Huraiyrah to go into action, thought she, as she turned around. It was only then did she notice that the beach seemed strangely deserted. There were apprehensive or angry looking women there, but all the men seemed to have gone entirely awol. Having confirmed something was up, Najm leapt onto a rock and stood up straight. Blue shadowed startling eyes that could see far normal than the regular human eye, a true marvel of intelligent design, picked up all the men huddled together in one corner, with what appeared to be a woman dressed in some long green garment and a cat mask as their prisoner. Further, a woman dressed in a cheetah print of sorts seemed to be besides them, as if commanding the two boys to do her bidding.

Upon further inspection, Najm realized that the scent was being emitted by the leopard woman. Plus, if memory served, the two boys and the girl were members of the famous Teen Titans. Najm had not really been around long enough to know that there were two teams of Titans and to which team this bunch belonged, but she did know that they were Titans. Apparently having turned against one another. Mind control; Najm figured.



A second later would hear a strange roar that only one truly a leopard could emit before Huraiyrah, as a leopard, leapt off the rock she was standing upon and ran at top speeds towards Will, suddenly pouncing on him and almost biting his arm off, though only managing to tear his sleeve. The carnivore spat the torn garment out, before roaring with all her might and assaulting the men, freeing the green kimono wearing woman from their grasp. She walked in front of her, defensively, daring to rip apart and devour anyone who dared touch the masked cat. Her claws were extended and knawing at the sand underneath them, fangs revealed as she hissed/growled at the people in front of her, her tail swishing behind angrily.

Huraiyrah growled and spat with a screaming roar of fury at Aphrodite's statement. Alley cat?! Huraiyrah felt like transforming into her humanoid form just to rip this bitch who gave cheetah-coats a bad name, but she knew that doing so would be a big gamble. While she could easily overpower a seashell in her half-human half-leopard form, she did not really know the powers of the other two titans and she did not want to take a gamble as big as that without being positive that it would yield good results.

Instead, Huraiyrah had a much more worthwhile plan in mind. She could just as easily transform into a cheetah and nab the woman who dared call her an alley cat and tear her in half, feasting upon the blood of her ancestors. The lion was said to be majestic, the leopard ferocious and shrewd. But elegant and graceful best described the cheetah. The cheetah was smaller than the other two cats, but by far the fastest - at speeds of 70 miles per hour, it can run faster than all other animals, and easily fast enough to dodge a living seashell, two Titans and a bunch of hormonal men in order to get to her prey.

But she also needed to protect Cheshire. She could not risk abandoning her, especially without knowing what powers the other two held. Crouching lower as if to stalk prey, the leopard felt the earth underneath her paws, long claws leaving marks in the sand. She was ready to jump and rip apart anyone who ever came near the girl. Her human, more intellectual side reminded her that she could not kill, but the leopard within, known for ferociousness, could barely contain itself. Finally, the human side won, and Huraiyrah opted not to kill, but that did not mean she could not send the lot of them to recover for a few months in the hospital. Maybe get a limb or two out of it.

Still, Huraiyrah decided to contain herself. The fact that Cheshire reprimanded Aphrodite and reminded her that they were not 'her boys' confirmed the rosetted cat's suspicions. They were being mind controlled. That much she could get off the vibes they seemed to emit; their eyes were somewhat empty, plus that strong musky odor that refused to leave the air, coming from Aphrodite herself, told her that it had something to do with pheromones. Unfortunately, that meant she could not eat them.

Oh well.

She began to walk around, stalking the walking seashell as she allowed Cheshire to communicate with the boy whose shirt Huraiyrah had torn. She did not know how they were communicating; call it an animal's instinct. For the shrewd leopard could detect the vibes of confidence yet hope coming off from the kimono wearing girl and understood that something was happening, even though she did not really understand what.

Huraiyrah only had a single thought going through her head as she stalked Sage, which was something along the lines of maim and mutilate. Her predatory green slits of eyes had by now judged that her claws would not be able to penetrate him. Leopards were agile, shrewd, ferocious and had great amounts of stamina. However, in strength they were lacking and that meant that she would have to switch forms. Faster than the average human could perceive, Huraiyrah pounced on Sage and while still in mid pounce she shifted into a tiger fast enough that the living seashell was unable to perceive.


Tiger stance met real tiger as the now tigress slammed the East team field leader into the ground with strength that only the mightiest and greatest of the big cats could muster. The sand shot up into the air around them as JaK was smashed into the ground. The tigress let out of a roar of such power and intensity that it would rock bones far and wide and put lions to shame.

Claws much more tougher, harder and packed with several ounces of more muscle weight behind them swiped at Sage intensely. The seashell armor did not have a chance anymore as four long, deep running gashes formed into Sage's chest before the tigress bit into Sage's shoulder, immersing her fangs therein causing him to scream out in pain. Picking him up with her mouth, she tossed him aside with mighty strength, wanting to see his reaction.

Tigers. The largest of the big cats, known for their cunning, blood lust and strength. Huraiyrah was thinking cleverly as she - at much slower and lazier but a more charismatic and knightly pace - stalked Sage. As tigers were good strategists, Huraiyrah could now think clearly without the instinctual rage and animosity of the leopard clouding her mind. Encircling Sage, her claws once again dug into the ground underneath and shoulders raised up as she was ready to incapacitate him at a moment's notice.
