(Fingers and Mark obviously would have an ethics conversation on the way to Hawaii I assume?The whole why are you doing this sorta stuff when you could be a force of good.)

OOC: We could do that.

BIC: And as simple as that, Butter Fingers was on his way to his vacation in Hawaii.

"Define 'better,' I could have simply robbed a bank myself, but the last time I did that people died. I could work for the government the next time they decide to hunt down vigilantes like yourself. That would be a much easier way to earn my vacation time. In that situation, you would be the criminal, not me. You know, perhaps I will do just that. That way, our next meeting will be different as you say."

Fingers smiled. He had been a mercenary in the past, so the idea of hunting down heroes in the name of the people wasn't that difficult to imagine. "Between carving out my own slice of pie and having the government do it for me, what can I do to make a living? Last I checked, meta-humans weren't allowed to roam free. Either the government owns you, or you're a rogue. Should I lie about my nature? Surely a boyscout like yourself understands honesty. If I can't deceive my employers into thinking I'm a human, then I can't get a job. Such is life. For people like us, we only have 2 choices: become a puppet or feed on lesser men."

They had already flown quite some distance. This was truly an exhilarating way to travel. "Besides, I used to work for a living. It almost killed me, literally."

OOC: since the conversation would be between you two should i just do one last post saying that paige took care of the stuff TL told her to do then leave the rest to you guys?

OOC: Yep.

Paige watched as TL flew away with butterfingers leaving before she coud say she wasn't really a titan she only lived with them at the time. She then walked out of the school informing the police on what just happened.

She then helped redrected the sutedents back inside then a group of police officers went to the bridge to retrive the deactivated bombs while another group went with Paige searching for the bombs within the school. Once found Paige rushed over to them using her hacking skills to try to deactivate them.

"Hows the deactivation coming?"

the police oficer said as paige typed on her laptop with a wireless adaptor that was linked up to her laptop so she could hack it.

"Well this guy did use some of the latest equiptment that is able to be aquired but i have hacked worse. Give me about 2 or so mins and I'll have this thing deactivated as long as butterfingers does try to counter act my hacking."

just as Paige had promised she had the bombs deactivated and the officers started to remove the bombs. Paige only hoped butterfingers didnt have an adaptor or a second dairy sorce to the bombs that would still have the bombs able to go off.

"You're wrong..." Mark spoke without looking at butterfingers as the ocean speed beneath them and they flew through the skies. The clouds seeming like other passing vehicles in a highway filled with winged pedestrians and the only stop light being the sun, which just beamed upon the two as they continued to soar. Below little ships and islands also could be made out in the distance, but they were mere specs of green and grey. At one point they even passed a commercial airline, but TL made sure to stay out of view of the cockpit for fear of making the pilots loose their nerve when they were expecting to be the only thing up there with passengers. Although, their radar might've detected Teen Lantern and he was sure some boy that got the window seat in coach had given them a quick wave. Either way, best to avoid it unless he wanted fighter jets after him, which brought up a good point Finger's made.

Unless you were a registered member of the JLA, you were rogue pretty much. Technically, every hero was taking the law into their own hands, which was indeed illegal. The Earth had never asked for another Lantern, they had just gotten one. Heck, they never asked for the first four or even a Superman. Mutants, altered beings, and zombies all had a right to be here because their powers originated on Earth, but for Mark, Hal Jordan, Superman, and the Martian Manhunter/Miss Martian. They were all just extraterrestrials with foreign weaponry. "I see where you're coming from, trust me, I've had my share of heartbreak and discrimination, believe that, but you're out look is too dim. By better I mean you can do more for mankind; it's not up to the government what kind of man you are. Powers don't define you as a human being except in books in databases. What makes you human, what makes you better are the choices you make. I fully believe that I do the right thing, no matter what law, no matter what rules or boundaries I need to cross, I know what I do is right and I know what I do is just., Helping people rather than one's self is a much better reward the any long island drink you can get at a resort. You should try it." As Mark spoke he did so with true optimism, a rare trait these days. He fully had hope in himself and the world as well as fate and believed everything he said.

"I don't buy that, kid. I do enjoy tropical drinks," Fingers said. How could helping other people have a better reward than helping one's self? Besides, Fingers currently had only a thin connection with humanity in that he had once been human. He now considered him a meta-human, a being above normal humans and thus more important. His needs, desires, and wants superseded those of humanity.

What kind of man he was? It was all words. The difference between an innocent man and a monster was a single act, a single crime. The world was not forgiving with its labels, and Fingers would not forgive the world, much less try to help it.

"In reality, very few people actually admit that what they're doing is wrong. They will trick themselves into thinking that their actions are truly good, even if they're not. But tell me, if you're breaking every law, rule, and boundary, then what is 'good?' What is right? Once you look around you, I think you'll realize that your hands aren't as clean as you imagine them. If you're willing to break the rules that humanity has set, then why should humanity's existence even continue?"

Mark thought of what Butterfingers had said before blurting out an answer, but then ultimately realized he had a minor point. Humanity was misguided, lost, and a times even cruel but there was one thing that redeemed them. "Hope. That's the reason they deserve to live. As humans we as a species may not be perfect and overall may be selfish and anything else other species can accuse us of, but are ability to hope in situations where there seems to be no way in which wee can prevail is our greatest attribute and strength. The heart and soul of the human spirit collectively is probably one of the strongest in the entire universe. You'll have to take my word on that and although we make mistakes or have laws/rules that condemn others that still doesn't dwarf the human potential for good. We're a young race, who still has very much to learn, but I have hope and faith in the human race to always to make the right decisions in the end. I've seen those who's potential for good surpass that of many others. The caring medic, the heroic cop, the unfaltering soldier; none of these people are above anyone else, but their potential for good has shown to override any negative and that speaks volumes for that of what humans are capable of as a race." Teen Lantern spoke so gallantly of humans that his words seemed like that of a fairy tale narrorator.

The entire time he spoke images appeared all over re bubble they floated in of people doing good deeds all over the world in every country and nation. "So to answer your question it's not that I've convinced myself what I'm doing is right...they've all convinced me that they're worth saving and if you looked a little deeper you would see that it takes more that a super power or a ring to make anyone a higher being. I dare Say, even some gods could use a lesson in humility or two." As the Blue Lantern spoke he referred to the Guardians secretly, they had lost touch with their spirits long ago, such a sad fate that the Lantern would never wish upon anyone.

Fingers wondered if the child's sermon was over with. The Lantern had taken some public speaking classes, that was for sure. He had made a convincing point, even if it was mostly emotionally won. Fingers had lived on this earth for 30 years. He knew what human nature was like far better than this youth. However, he also knew to avoid hubris. He would need a soundly-based argument to convince the Lantern of anything.

"So you protect this hopeful human race with your impressive power. I will admit that is a noble pursuit. However, do not confuse morality with power. You are pampering these humans, and there will be a day when not even you can protect them. Where will they stand then? If they are too arrogant to accept servitude to whichever race eventually conquers this world, they will be entirely destroyed. Learning to cater to the demands of stronger beings, like myself, is the only way the human race can survive. It has been said that the tree that bends in the wind will not break."

The Lantern had been to other planets. He had seen alien races. Surly, he knew that it was only a matter of time before the human situation was forever altered.
