Power Brainstorming

I made this thread to display some crazy, unique abilities that I tend to think up. If you have some fun ideas, feel free to post them here as well. If you're a new member, or just looking for an unusual power, feel free to use anything listed here. Enjoy!

Here are some examples:

Bubble Body- user is a bubble elemental and cannot be hurt by piercing, slashing, or crushing attacks. Although individual bubbles may pop, they will be replaced nearly instantly. The user can also float, fit through small spaces, and clean anything with a touch.

Quills- user can generate sharp quills from anywhere on their body. Anyone who touches these quills will be impaled by them.

Black Cat- user causes bad luck to opponents, has enhanced agility, and has 9 lives.

Fire Eater- user gets physically stronger by absorbing flames. The flames do not hurt them.

Flower Power- user can generate flowers in massive numbers out of thin air. These flowers serve as great distractions and can impare the vision of enemies. It can't really be used to hurt anyone, though.

Inertia Stop- user stops the inertia of any objects that strikes them. This grants them complete protection against physical attacks, but they are still able to be damaged by any sort of energy.

Television Portals- user jumps into a television and appears at the location shown on the screen.

Power Mirror- user momentarily gains the powers of anyone they are fighting.

Berserker Rage- user is instanly healed after being defeated and doubles their strength. This can only be used once per day and leaves the user extremely exhausted afterwards.

Human Book- user gains any superpower that is written on their skin with a marker. If the marker washes off, they lose that power.

Robot Form- user transformes into a giant robot.

I don't think anyone on here is using any type of water(water, not ice Dar) powers, nor air. So for element wise, those two are up for grabs. Light isn't being used by anyone either. I don't think we have anyone that can turn invisible or phase through solid objects. Shush JaK, I know about Ghostfreak but the omnitrix is a different subject. :P

Do we have a master mind? A psychic? A witch? Someone that can make portals would be useful. More so for villians. I'll get back later :P

Here are some more ideas:

Power Glove- When wearing a specific glove, the user of this power can create a massive glove made of energy that floats in the air. This giant glove is controlled by the user and mimics what the glove on the user’s hand is doing. The giant glove is about 10 feet long and has 20 times the strength of the user.

Lesser Genie Summon-  By possessing a magical ring, the user can summon a lesser genie. This genie does not grant wishes like a greater genie, but does serve its master with powerful magic. The lesser genie can fly, generate fireballs, is super strong, and is bulletproof.

Spirit animal- Half of the user’s soul turns into a spirit animal, such as a lion. The spirit animal is made of pure energy, but appears in physical form and has all the abilities and weaknesses of that specific animal. The user can only have 1 spirit animal form. If either the spirit animal or the user dies, the other one dies as well, since they are both parts of the same soul.

Power Identification- The user is able to identify the powers held by anyone simply by looking at them.

Power sharing- The user picks one ally within 100 feet. The user is now able to use all of the superpowers held by that ally. Also, the ally is able to use any powers (except for this one, of course) that is held by the user.

Atlantean- The user is from Atlantis, and is therefore able to breathe under water and swim at around 50 miles per hour. They also have extra-dense skin which can stop bullets (but they still hurt). The user is also super strong. (Only royal Atlanteans get magical abilities like telepathy, sorry chaps.)

Amazonian- The user is an Amazonian. In addition to being immortal, they are super strong, and are able to channel magic through their weapons, allowing them to injure ‘invincible’ enemies. Certain Amazonians are also gifted with other powers, such as flight, healing, or truth-telling.

Light Crystal- The user’s body is made of a crystal or glass. Because of this, lasers and light-magic will pass right through them as if they weren’t there.

I had the idea of energy cycling, if you've ever read storm theif you should know what I'm talking about.

It would be a person who seemingly goes through cycles of time where they are normal, then sped up then move at a speed thats similar to teleporting through a city block for a moment then suddenly very slow and finnally to so slow they look like a statue. It would then go back to fast and go on like that for the battle until they turned it off, which always has to happen at the send if the fast section of the cycling and always would start up at the slow part

The exposition would be theyed be using energy that doesn't yet exist in exchange for not using the energy later. It could also have side effects such as the person beig able to absorb ambient energy for certain sources.

It might feel over powered at points but eveything is balanced. all kinetic energies that cintactthem are affected by the cycling for instance, while slow if they are hit by something it would he like hitting a brick wall until they sped up then they would be affected as normal plus however fast they are moving ((I.e. You're moving at 200% speed you're affected by external forces by 200%)) though the energy would be turned into a general force instead of focused, so a punch or even a jab by a bladed weapon or bullet would be more like a general force so bullet or blade would be spread into more like a punch or being hit by a baseball bat instead of the blade. the more energy extorted the more it would he spread

A punch by a super powered individual might send you flying but you might not get that collapsed chest cavity they were expecting. Other forces like electricity and forces could be the same but it'd all be proportional to the persons current speed and it would have to affect them while in the faster part of the cycle to for the effect to be sped up.

Just gotta say, I think that this thread would be insanely useful! Before I came up with Scope, I don't know if anyone noticed, but, I switched pictures and ideas like four times...I was really excited when I came up with Scope's power (which I think is pretty original) because I was going for a power that could be useful in a lot of situations but was relatively simple.

Here are some powers that I don't believe are in use here! Although they definitely might be...

• Being made of rubber like Mr. Fantastic!
  
• Original forms of travel like...um...(hard one)...mirror travel? Walk into one mirror and out any other! (I used this in a Harry Potter rp except it was portrait travel and it was a spell...)
  
• Sonic Screams? I don't think we have that...
  
• Tech specialist? Don't think we have this although I think I might try to make Scope satisfy this role at TE. I just think it's a very important role that's mostly ignored here. We have to consider, who made all the awesome stuff that the titans use?
  
• Ability to grow to really large or really small...

And that's all I can think of atm...

Uhh I dunno about making this official, seems pointless for new members, because they'll make their chars before even looking at it orrrr already have them in mind when they apply. Not to mention whether or not powers are overused or not, I would rather have their char be original and creative on their own even if we have 100 speedsters on here.

On the other hand, it would be a good suggestion for peoples second and third chars...That being said:

shadow clone: A mere image of your real self or the ability to replicate mirrors of ones self that are non physical or physical, but in either case will disappear upon contact or overtime.

Miming: The ability to pretend something is there and then use that made up something as a weapon or tool. Akin to a mime pulling on a rope, but instead could actually wield an invisible rope. Good for magician chars.

Portal: Unlike teleportaton this is the ability to open a gateway to a small pocket dimension that one must walk or step through and then opening another to leave it and ending up at a different place or point.

Reanimation: The ability to animate dead or inanimate objects and bring them to life briefly if not permanently.

Energy Absorbtion: Ability to store the kinetic force or energy from moving objects or impact, plus other outlets and storing into one's body to be re-released at a later date.

Density altering: Ability to flatten, hrink, grow, shape, or form your body into the necessary peramiters to fit into any surface. Such as slide under the a door, slip through a crack, squeeze into a key hole, hide in a cup, etc...

Do I mind? I would be very happy if this list could help someone. Of course you can use it. I can't wait to see it in use.

Signing- The power to conjure weapons/objects by spelling them in sign language. The item lasts for 10 minutes.

Text- The power to make words appear in the air.

Blackout- The power to remove all light from within a 50 foot radius.

Half Damage Builder- Every time you are hit by an weapon, you gain resistance to that specific weapon. The amount of damage that specific weapon does to you is cut in half every time you do this. You never become fully immune to it, but if you get shot enough, eventually those bullets will only be leaving welts.

Brain Rage- You become more intelligent as you take more damage.

Disruption- Your aura cackles with energy that disrupts the use of telepathy, telekinesis, elemental bending, summoning, and constructs. These powers are not canceled out, but they become shaky and can't be used effectively.

Photograph Vision- You can see out of the eyes of photographs of yourself. You can see from all of these photographs at once. If you put these around the city, you can gain a limited form of omniscience.

Ghost Buster- You have a machine that sucks in and imprisons ghosts. Useful for all those paranormal/Halloween threads.

Ping Pong- Your body has a super-light but invincible exoskeleton. You won't take damage from any physical attacks, but you won't stand your ground, either. Getting hit by a bullet will send you flying backwards for several city blocks. You can even survive a punch from Superman, but you will end up on the opposite side of the world.

Heating Up- You get physically stronger as the temperature around you increases. You are at your most powerful when you are on fire. Obviously, you cannot be hurt by fire.

Pirate Ship Summoning- Once per day, you can summon a pirate ship, which will appear out of nowhere in the closest large body of water. If there is no such body of water within one mile, then the pirate ship appears on land instead. The ship is manned by twenty fearsome swashbucklers armed with flint-lock pistols and cutlasses. The ship and all pirates disappear after ten minutes, and this power can only be used once per day.

Sword of Repetitive Judgement- In addition to being a magical weapon, when this sword hits an enemy, it instantly re-opens all wounds previously inflicted by it, no matter how long ago those wounds were inflicted.

Random Gun- When the trigger is pulled, this space-age looking ray gun will shoot out one of the following: fire, laser, freeze-ray, sleeping gas, poison, acid, perfume, water, electricity, and a magic beam. Due to the slow firing rate, you may only shoot this gun once per post.

I have ideas!

Blink speed- This power lets the person visualize doing something, such as turning on a distant light switch, and then when activated the person unknowingly enters a state of super-speed and then performs it; but with the limit that he must return to the exact same spot after doing so. So in the above example the said person could look at a light and set the goal to flip it on, then activate his power. He would then enter the super-speed state and run over, flip the switch up, run back and return to normal so fast he wouldn't even remember doing it. To an outside viewer it would look like the person shifted ever so slightly and the switch suddenly came on at the same time.

Tennis racket of explodyness- Any small object hit and flung by this racket will leave behind and trail of smoke as it flies, then explode when it hits an object.

Mass absorption- The ability to cause any object to disappear instantly. The person can then re-produce the object at any time, and will come out exactly as it came in. So things like food could stay stored for years and still come out fresh; or they could light a bomb and then store it, then when needed the person could bring it back out and it would still be lit. The person would have a storage limit of their own body mass.

Murasame- Cut through anything.

Reflection- A character that can intercept an energy attack and launch it right back at the attacking player at a faster (And possibly more powerful) intensity.

Keyblader- A character with an item that can open physical and metaphorical locks.

Restoration- The power to instantly fix an inanimate object. Great for cleaning up after a battle that destroyed half the town. A lot of people will be happy when you fix their car/house/road/building.

Miscast Magic- When a magic user tries to cast a spell at you, they instead cast a random different spell.

Midas Touch- Why not? Turn any inanimate object into gold. Not useful in a fight, but it is useful for making your character super rich. With all that money, they'll be able to afford some bodyguards.

Murder of Crows- When your character dies, their body transforms into 13 crows, which scatter. 24 hours later, 13 crows will come together somewhere in the woods to re-form your character, alive and well.

Magic Banana- In the hands of everyone else, this is just a normal banana. In your hands, though, it's a cell phone, a gun, a boomerang, and even a hammer.

Magic Red Paint- You throw a bucket of paint on someone. As soon as it touches them, it becomes their actual blood. Their body loses the amount of blood that has touched them.
