Now your Nightmare comes to life (Open to mainly TE)

As the pins hit the floor in slow motion JaK would look at Nightmare as if he couldn't believe this was the same person he grew up with. He pushed his limits before, but, but never like this!? However, now was not the time to be worried about David or Grace who was seen fleeing behind JaK. 4 seconds until detonation now. He had to figure out what he was going to do or this was gonna be it....He had to try it, the riskiest thing he'd ever done. The clock was now down to 3 seconds! Within one movement JaK jumped forward and grabbed his brother by the neck, as if in one last defiant HOORAH!. 2 seconds now. Squeezing the airwaves from the suicidal teen as his armored frame began to cover his entire body yet again. 1 more second to go. His own will forcing his skin to redone the armor coating, which wouldn't be able to stand up to the blast from all these grenades at so close a range, but Sage didn't care. It would help him ring his brothers life away from hi---

KABBOOOoOOOOOMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!

As the building caught a blaze momentarily and the sounds of the multiple explosives triggering, complimenting one another in destructiveness, filled the city streets. Out of the building JaK Sage came soaring out through the side wall, or at least what was left of him. Nightmare being at the epicenter oft he explosion was blown to smithereens and JaK being just in front of him didn't fair tall too well either. His armor was vaporized by the explosion, but provided him enough protection to not get torn to pieces. However, after the armor went so did his skin, facial features, and a few of his limbs. All of it went to hell, even his fingers were missing as Sage flew out of the building onto the sidewalk in a pile of rubble, unarmored and knocked out. His arm would be seen dislocated to the point that the bone was sticking out. His nose had been torn off to the bone, and finally an eye was missing from it's socket as well as multiple other very serious lacerations. Nightmare might've been destroyed, but if Sage was even still alive his wounds were so fatally serious that he probably wouldn't last the next few hours...Much less the night. However, then something miraculous would occur as his body lay torn and shredded on the street located just outside the bank. His fingers started reform? His nose started to grow back, cartilage and all! Blood could be seen refilling back into the empty socket. It was hard to believe, but he was healing? And at an exceptionally fast rate, bu-but how? JaK couldn't heal from injuries this severe that fast, if at all without being armored. Little did David or Grace know, however, right before the explosion occurred when he grabbed Nightmare by his throat he was absorbing his skin as well. Which was composed of the same cells that healed David's entire body. Thus like all other material JaK absorbs he inherited his make-up and properties. The same cellular construction that usually kept his brother alive now working hard to fix JaK Sage as quickly as possible. He would soon re-awaken within a few minutes or so good as new....Well, other than the bones and dislocations he had to put back in place. Nightmare on the other hand had been completely and otherly blown apart it would seem. His suicidal tendencies finally getting the best of him.

Soon JaK's eye lid would grow back over his empty yet reforming socket and then afterwards reopened them. His yellow pupild black eyes staring straight at Grace...Was he aliv---WAIT! Was Grace crying!? Over him...Nope. He had to be dead because there is no way that would ever happen. However, before he could fully accept that he was dead or having a hallucination he would feel the reithing pain from his slowly, yet quickly reforming limbs bringing him back to reality. So he wasn't dead and Grace actually did care....Weird.

"G-G-Grace...Is he? Is Nightmare..."

JaK wanted to know if it was over, the last thing he remembered was his brother taking it to the extreme! He had actually blown hismelf up, JaK remebered this all to clearly now. Smelling the embers and burnt carcasses in the air. He almost couldn't belive his plan worked. He'd never tried to use his power or seen Nightmare's work in such a way...

Sage had said no more hospitals, he wasn't going to be injured and forced to take bed rest due to Nightmare anymore. Not to mention there was no need for it, but seeing as Grace was worried and probably knew this for herself. Yet, just wanted to take JaK to calm her own nerves and make sure he was ok. He didn't bring up this fact to her. In all honesty, he wanted to shed, yet keep this armor forever. The ability to heal like this, he could see why Nightmare felt invincible. He didn't have to worry about ever having a limit, but it did drive him to eventually push it too far. Besides, Sage didn't really want anything of his brother being on, in, or part of his body. So as soon as he felt he would be ok, he was going to ditch this healing armor. It wasn't him and he didn't need it. JaK knew who he was, he knew his capabilities and limitations, and he was fine with that.

"We lost all those people Grace...Because of me...Because I couldn't stop him again. And what's just as bad or even worse, I almost got you and myself killed. I wasn't strong enough to stop or save David..."

JaK would say as he turned over, attempting not to shed any tears. He didn't want her to see him have an emotional moment such as that. Especially when Grace was already doing so...

JaK would place his hands in his palms as he thought of the people's faces who died just now. How scared they had been when he walked in the room, and exactly how sure he had been that he was going to save them. Grace's words as usual fell on deaf ears because no matter what he would always feel responsible. Although, he appreciated her gesture the thoughts wouldn't leave his mind. More so his family name was responsible, his father was the one who injected David and JaK with the serum for self-replicating DNA. While JaK's cells began to mimic his surroundings Nightmare's began to combust and self destruct, giving him his blood fire ability. However, his mind also had an adverse affect to the serum turning him into this monster he had been and now was gone, making JaK the last of his line. JaK's bruding being interrupted by a question moments later.

"Huh...Um, I guess, well no..I dunno I've never been able to do it before. Then again, I never thought I could do what I just did in there. I knew I could gain the properties of whatever matter I made contact with, but to copy abilities from others too..."

JaK would think inquisitively about this for a second and then decided that he most likely could not...

"It depends...My powers work on a cellular level. Meaning I think I am able to heal because Nightmare's cells heal themselves. Get it? It's part of the property of the substance I touched to do so. Kind of how I can rapidly extend my arms when in plant form or manipulate my first to from larger when diamond, metal, or granite forms. It's because plants grow and minerals bundle together to form rocks and other earth structures. So if your bodies make up does those things automatically, like growing hair or maybe even lets off radiation like kryptonite. I can do those same things..."

It made sense hypothetically, but then again, it still didn't answer Grace's question on if he could take her powers. If her body made ice naturally and it wasn't just some mental control over the substance then maybe.

"Haha, you got it Grac--OUCH!! Bud, I know you're just trying to help, but if you poke me one more time with something sharp I'm gonna deck you in the FACE!"

Sage would get very angry as the men rushed him to emergency and immediately stuck a needle in his arm. The aid being offended or scared of Sage decided to let the female nurse make the incisions, thinking JaK wouldn't sock her..Coward. It was all uncessary anyway, anything that didn't break down would be pushed out of his skin when the cuts completely closed just how they entered and if they could be broken down his cells currently would attack the invading substances like flies on..well...you get it. JaK knew this, but Grace didn't, nor did the doctors. The medical staff already beginning to cut away at him while he gritted from the pain. Unable to sedate him thanks to his currently rapidly healing brain cells. JaK was no punk, however, as he sat through the pain he kept looking at Grace through the operation window. His heart beating warmly while doing so...It was true, he was the last of his family line, but as he exited one he fully embraced another. He was a Titan now, a member of the superhero community and maybe this was destiny's plan for him all along? A smile creeping across his face a the thought of it; probably making Grace think he was smiling at her.
