Just an ordinary bank heist, promise (Open)

It was an ordinary day in Jump City, which for this city meant that a crime was taking place! The police were alerted to an ongoing situation at a bank in Downtown Jump where armed assailants have attacked the bank in an attempt to rob it. After all the recent crimes involving goo monsters and 'biodroids' this was a refreshingly normal crime for the police to deal with, though one they obviously still took very seriously. The police were dispatched to take care of this situation, judging from the amount of reported robbers this would be something they could deal with just fine, no need to call for the Titans or that 'Hercules' kid or that cranky robot.

With that attitude they left to take care of the problem and then... nothing. Several minutes after the police should have arrived there was complete radio silence. No calls for backup, no further requests for help from the bank staff, not even any sounds of fighting from inside the bank. Just complete, unnerving silence. No one dared to go in, instead preferring to wait until either a hero or police re-enforcements arrived. The public waited with bated breath for either someone to come into the bank, or for someone to come out.

It was definitely an ordinary day for Daniel, who was out and about on some errands and some personal little goals he set out to do today. He was still waiting on the paperwork at the police station to be finished and done with, the chief personally telling him that she'd let him know immediately once it was all squared away. She seemed very hesitant at first, and he wasn't sure what he did to make what he thought was a bad impression but she did admit his attitude was... refreshing. But she seemed to be more on board with it after learning of his metahuman abilities! So he was looking forward to being officially on the force, assuming there wasn't anything wrong with the paperwork.

But he was driving through downtown when he noticed the crowd gathered outside of the bank as the police rolled up. Daniel almost cast caution to the wind, but remembered he wasn't official yet and he was hopeful that they'd be able to resolve the situation- and if not, surely a local vigilante would assist them. So far the latter had yet to appear as the officers went in, and like the crowd outside Daniel waited anxiously. They'd been in there a long time, and the eerie silence was what got him the most. Finally unable to take it any longer, Daniel got out of his car and hurried his way to the bank. In his haste, he neglected to think about trying to rally for back up sooner but figured that more would be on the way regardless and hesitation may make a world of difference as he summoned part of his "Knight Armor" around his torso, and gathered energy around his wrists before heading in to assess the situation...

From the other side of the street an odd creature watched the growing crowd of onlookers curiously. They had seen the officers go into the building, and was now watching another human going into the ominously silent crime scene. This city was known for weird things happening it seemed. Super powered villians and heros, strange experiments, magics. So an armed robbery just seemed to be way to normal, and Crow was just as curious to know what was going on inside the building as the normal people crowding closer and closer together. Unlike the human going in though, he didn't think himself the hero type to go and figure out what was happening personally. He planned on waiting outside from a distance until other officers dragged out whoever or whatever was inside.
Or, at least that's what he thought he was going to do. Until he happened to see a bright green orb zip up behind the person going into the building and follow them right up to the doors. Crow's eyes went wide as he quickly left his hiding spot from across the street and made a mad dash across the street and shoved through the crowd, trying to get at the green wisp hovering just behind the hero's head.

As Daniel entered the bank with Crow in hot pursuit he would see that the lobby was completely empty. There were blood splatters and bullet holes here and there but no actual signs of any people, alive or dead, could be seen. If the two of them went in further they might catch a glimpse of movement disappearing around a corner that led to a hallway, whatever they saw had a tail but was far too large and had far too loud footsteps to be a rat. Whatever it was had vanished, and if they wanted to find out they'd have to follow it.

Daniel had mentally prepared himself for the worst, too focused right now to notice that there was a glowing orb behind him. But after he was inside, he did notice that someone had followedhim inside... a scarecrow? "Hello? Thank you for coming with me but this seems hardly the place to be friend," Daniel greeted Crow before warning him of the potential danger. Which based on how the inside looked, danger was assured, and there being blood was... concerning. But there was still no one around. Was the place robbed by ghosts that turned everyone else into ghosts?

This absurd line of thinking was cut short as Daniel caught sight of movement- something with a tail. So Daniel was in quick pursuit, easily clearing over any obstacles that may have gotten in his way as he hoped to catch whoever or whatever ws behind this grisly and spooky scene.

Having certain strange... responsible adult... inclinations ever since what happened three weeks ago, Simca had suddenly decided to try and earn a living for herself. Simca had never really had a civilian persona, but all who knew her as Swallow didn't know her as Simca, so when she was not kicking criminal butt, Simca Kemery was now a freelance graphics designer for the cosmetics company Shedare Beauty. A subsidiary of Wayne Chemicals, apparently.

Anyhoo, her new, erm... boss?... was a complete turd.

I mean, if someone could make Simca Kemery of all people anxious with just words they had to be another level of jerk, right?

So, a really nervous and perturbed Simca, in civilian attire with her identity concealed behind a thick pair of spectacles, sat staring at the canvas sheets curled around her arms. She couldn't believe he had rejected these designs as 'childish and unprofessional'. These were supposed to be her best work!

Hearing police sirens, Simca perked up and placed the graphics sheets aside. Behind her thick-rimmed glasses, her viridescent eyes spotted the police conglomerating around the Downtown Bank. Simca paused, contemplating. Normally, she wouldn't interfere for something as simple as this, and the crowd was too big...

She watched. Her sharp eyes caught sight of movement. Said eyes narrowed.

Simca took off her glasses. This looked like a job for...

The Swallow, in full uniform, landed in a graceful and noiseless crouch on the bank floor a few moments behind Daniel and Crow. Being her true self gave her a calm confidence, one that, she realized, she lacked as Simca Kemery. Pushing the thought aside, she began to focus on the two in front of her. Before she could even take in the newcomers, she caught a movement out of the corner of her sharp eyes and then saw Daniel quickly giving chase.

Deciding not to announce her presence just yet, Simca quickly flipped back up into a corner against the upper walls of the bank lobby, hiding from both Daniel and Crow and... whatever that spooky thing that moved was.

Simca's prey instincts were screaming at her, she thought with a gulp, trying to steady her nerves.

Up in the upper beams of the bank building, the Swallow stalked Daniel and Crow silently as they gave chase to Spooky Ghost Thing.

Crow gave a half shrug when the person he followed in started to explain the dangers they could be getting into, starting to wave toward the green wisp that was still hovering about. But he was, of course unable to explain. Not only because he wasn't able to speak, but because something else seemed to catch the hero's attention and they took off after it. The green wisp started following behind, but Crow quickly grabbed it in a four stick fingers hand. The living scarecrow then turned their attention toward the...remains, of the officers who had come in before. As he walked over toward the mess another wisp appeared, this one orange, and the two floating lights danced around the scene, illuminating the gruesome sight.

As Daniel pursued the figure while being closely followed by Simca they would turn a corner into a hallway, where they would catch a sight of the tailed figure Daniel had seen as it struggled to open a door with hands clearly not meant for the task. The figure as reptilian in nature and the size of a man, it looked like a lizard, but it stood on two legs and resembled no living creature that should be found in a big populated city like Jump.

The creature before them was unmistakably a Dinosaur.

The raptor would screech at the pair and abandon its attempts to open the door. Instead it would charge Daniel, leaping at him with claws and talons extended.

Daniel was mentally preparing for whatever or who ever could've been behind this. As absurd as it sounded, ghosts were still on the table to explain the lack of bodies... anywhere. There had clearly been signs of a fight, messy signs at that too. In hindsight he COULD have checked to see if whatever had been here had succeeded in stealing anything. Daniel had no idea what ghosts would want with money... they were dead. Typically in horror movies they had some unfinished business or carried a grudge against the living. BUT he'd have lost track of his quarry if he had done that- but if it HAD been ghosts, it wouldn't have mattered.

Then he and his unlikely allies would finally find whatever was trying to escape. It was... not a ghost.

"That's... a dinosaur," Daniel said when it was clear as day to anyone looking at it anyway. For a brief moment, the discovery was so amazing and cool that the danger the creature posed actually slipped his mind... until it went after him. "Ack!"Daniel yelped, raising one of his shielded forearms up as the dinosaur bit down. But it would find the glowing shielding much to tough to get through as Daniel gave it a quick sawk and shot with his free hand- just enough to force it off and backwards.

Why was there a dinosaur here? WHY was it robbing a bank? WHAT DID IT NEED WITH MONEY? Daniel had more questions than he needed, but the first most pressing matter was dealing with this wild... extinct animal. He definiately didn't want to seriously hurt it; just think of all the things people could learn from it! "Oh! Hello! Uh.... you wouldn't have any food on you would you?" Daniel finally noticed Swallow, but was asking both of them as he took up a defensive stance at the front; shielding still on his forearms at the ready.

In the rafters above, Simca stalked Crow and the tall, dark-haired boy, who looked strangely like Krious, except even taller. Simca gulped and quickly shook her head as that thought began bombarding her psyche with memories and experiences she did not need to delve into right now.

They hurt, and she needed to focus.

Especially considering her Prey Instinct was literally screeching at her to just get the quacking duck out of here.

Her jade eyes narrowed as she saw why.

The reptile roared and attacked the boy, and Simca swallowed - excuse the pun - all her instincts and swooped down like a bird, landing behind Daniel in a crouch as he pushed the prehistoric creature back.

"Oh! Hello! Uh.... you wouldn't have any food on you would you?"

"Why? The three of us should fill it up quite nicely," she commented dryly, as she assumed an Eight Trigrams fighting stance fighting against every instinct that told her to flee.

Crow turned his attention away from the blood painted wall at the sound of a loud, reptilian screech followed by short talk of the group being able to easily feed whatever made the horrible sound. And Crow knew one thing-
He did not want to become some creatures enrichment item today.
He ran darted over toward the group with his green and orange wisp close behind him and peered over their shoulders to get a better look at the thing as the orange wisp made a steep dive at the side of it's head and let off a small flare in hopes to dissuade it from the group.

The Raptor let out a high pitched screech when Daniel punched it after blocking its attack, growling at the strange glowing man and his companion who came down from the sky. Despite seeing Daniel's abilities first-hand the Raptor still seemed up for a fight, snapping at the air and getting ready to charge again. Or at least that's what it was going to do until Crow's wisp produced a flare by its head. Dinosaurs feared fire just as any other wild animals did, so at the sight of the flare the Dinosaur would suddenly turn around and bolt for the door it was trying to get through before.

If it wasn't stopped then the Raptor would leap at the door and knock it off its hinges, dashing through and running down a dark staircase.

"That's true... but I meant to feed it in hopes of calming it down," Daniel replied, also dryly. This wouldn't do- but how was he supposed to know he'd be dealing with dinosaurs and ghosts? He was still convinced that in some manner, ghosts were somehow part of thos entire scenario. He did however make a mental note to bring along with him some jerky or something incase this happened to him again in the future!

They had the beasie cornered and out numbered, and as much as he wanted to have a pet dinosaur- he was fairly sure one could not be tamed but as raring to give it a try. But it might try to eat his sister who was much too lazy... so that was probably out of the question anyway. Crow's spoopy wisp spooped it, and jarred Daniel out of his musings as it presumably crashed through the door. "Quick! It may lead us to whoever abandoned it here!" Daniel suggested, smart enough to leave out all of his suspicions of paranormal involvement. All he had to go off of was that there were no people in a bank, and a single dinosaur. So he chased after it!
