Melissa Amy Stone

Melissa Amy Stone (Medusa)  168052-untditled_1gfddfd

===IDENTITY===

Full Name: Melissa Amy Stone
Codename: Medusa
Nickname(s): Mel, Lady Death, Ms Stone
Alias(es): N/A
Age: 21
Birth date: 18th April
Classification: Metahuman
Affiliation: Evil

===PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION===

Hair Color: Mostly black with deep red highlights when the light is shining right. Shoulder length, layered, and with a ‘should probably be trimmed soon’ fringe.
Eye Color: A murky hazel with a red tint normally, they turn dark orange when she’s using her touch and eye powers however.
Height: 170cm
Weight: 70kg
Other: Almost always wears sunglasses to avoid accidentally committing mass murder.

===POWERS===

Powers:
Mel has the unique, and very deadly ability to, well, kill. However just how she kills you depends on how she uses her powers.

Touch.

When Mel’s skin comes into contact with another organism, if she so wishes, she is able to absorb the creatures life force. This results in the victim rapidly aging, and after about 3 minutes, dieing. This is the ability Mel uses the most due to its on and off nature, and its effectiveness in getting what she wants, cause let’s face it, who wants to go from 18 to 96 in under 2 minutes? This is also the most victim friendly of Mel’s powers, for after she has gained the information, or revenge, that she seeks, by the removal of her hand, she returns them to their original age. Mel also has a tendency not to hold on long enough to kill, her business orientated brain often causing her to pause and consider the fact that these victims may be of further use in the future. However it is worth noting that after absorbing the life force of a person, Mels does not return all the energy back to them. Whilst they are returned to a normal age, the person is left weakened, fatigued. On the other hand, Mel now has the excess energy she needs to use her eye powers.

Blood.

Perhaps her most unusual power, Mel’s blood is one of the world’s most deadly toxins. 2 drops of the stuff in your drink, 10 minutes later you are on the floor dead. Somewhat paradoxically, if Mel were to ingest some of her victims blood before she tried to poison them with hers, her blood is no longer toxic to that individual. Furthermore, anyone related by blood to that person would now also be immune to Mel’s blood. However Mel does make it a goal in her life to avoid going Twilight and drinking people’s blood, therefore the list of people immune to her poison is incredibly small. Also, due to having to make herself bleed, Mel prefers not to use this power, instead preferring to rely on her much more direct murder via her eyes.

Eyes.

Her blood might be the most unusual of Mel’s powers, but her eyes is definitely the one that takes the most work. Most of the time her eyes are normal, oddly colored for a human, but normal none the less. However if Mel has retained some energy from the draining of another individual by her touch power and then holds a stone in her hand, any direct eye contact with the girl will turn your body to stone. No warning, no moment to scream. A second after looking into her gaze your body will solidify into a stone statue matching the properties of the rock in her hand. Mel has no way of turning this power off once she has the excess energy and the stone in hand, and it is due to this ability that her codename was created. On the plus side, Mel doesn’t have to put up with snakes for hair. All she has to do to curtail this gift is to don a pair of strongly tinted sunnies, and this is generally what she does when she knows she could be going into a tense situation she would need to get out of quickly. However she can also stop this power by either not grasping the rock in her palm, or absorbing energy. The way this power works is simple. The moment you look into Mel’s eyes you become stone, but Mel has only a finite amount of people she can turn before the excess energy runs out for she uses some of it for each person she turns and the number she can turn depends on how much energy she has in her system. However, the stoneification does not last forever. If Mel remains close to your position, the rock will fade and you will return to normal after an hour, provided your gaze does not meet hers again if she refills on energy, is holding a rock, and not wearing sunnies. If Mel is out of sight but still relatively close to you, eg at the other end of the house, the stone will fade faster and you will be human again after 30 minutes. However if Mel is out of sight and a long distance from you, eg, several blocks away, the stone will fade much faster and you’ll be normal again after about 15 minutes. Basically the further away from her you are, the faster the rock will fade, and the maximum time you will remain stone (unless Mel stops by to look in your eyes again halfway through) is an hour. Also, if your statue stone body receives damage, your flesh body will as well. Eg, if your finger gets broken off, when you become human again, your finger will appear to have been torn off. And if you receive fatal injuries such as your head being knocked off, a hole through your chest where your heart would have been, etc, you will not return to human form. Instead you will have died the moment you gained those injuries and your body will remain at whatever degree of stoneification it had been at when you sustained the injuries.

Raised to be focused, goal orientated, neat, and unrelenting, there is rarely a thing that does not get done when Mel puts her head to the task. She has perfected her public relations face, appearing to most as a happy, successful role model for many young women out there. A favorite for most interviewers due to her light hearted humor, bright smile, and down to earth attitude. Mel is quite a bit darker on the inside. She is extremely methodical, always having a plan, always 5 steps ahead of everyone else. She doesn’t care if she has to put several hundred people out of jobs so she can buy a rival company and increase her own income. She even enjoys her powers. Revels in the control it grants her over others. For a control freak like herself, having the power to take away life simply by touch is the ultimate fantasy. In fact, it was probably because of her powers that Mel has begun this new venture to control Jump’s crime base. She aims to extend this control to the eastern seaboard once Jump is hers, then to take the world. Mel is extremely analytical, very skilled at detaching herself from a situation to see how she can gain the best outcome. This makes her an excellent business woman, and an even better villainess. It’s very hard to fight someone when you have no idea who, what, or even where they are. Welcome to the modern world, where one word into a cell phone can mean massive amount of death and destruction all across a city. Organized crime is the future, and Mel intends on being at the top.

===PERSONAL BACKGROUND===

Family:
Haley McAdams – Mother – Deceased.
John Stone – Father – Deceased.

Place of Origin:
New York City

History:
Melissa Amy Stone was born as the first and only child of multibillionaires Haley and John Stone. She spent the first 18 years of her life in New York City living mostly with her mother at their penthouse apartment downtown. Her father traveled around the world a lot to work at the various other headquarters of his company in various countries.

Vulcan, the Stone family company, has it’s fingers in many different pots. It’s most well known public face is that of an insurance company, and is in fact, the major insurer of America. It is due to the abundance of money the insurance gig drags in that Vulcan was able to expand into different areas, like security firms where businesses can hire security personal from Vulcan (and where Mel tends to get her private army from), Weapons manufacture, Stock market, etc. Vulcan is even the major research sponsor of several universities worldwide, focusing on finding cures for cancer and alternative sources of fuel.

Naturally this powerful company she was to inherit resulted in Mel being raised in the public spotlight. From a young age she was groomed into the image of the woman she should be. She was told to always seek the upper hand of situations, use what others have against them, but appear friendly to the masses. Basically her upbringing reinforced the cold aloof bitch attitude into Mel until she became exactly that which her parents wished. Unfortunately for them, the Stone’s taught young Melissa too well.

At the age of 18 her powers emerged and she accidentally killed her driver as she was on her way home from school. They were stopped at a traffic light at the time so no car crash resulted, however Mel did have to deal with the body. Once again grateful for the super tinted windows of the limo, Mel shoved the man, who had been drained of life after a quick make out session with Mel because she was bored, into the back and took the wheel before the lights went green again. The whole way home her mind churned with the possibilities of what her life draining power could give her.

After dumping the body off her private yacht just out past liberty island, Mel got to work. She started small, quickly discovering her hypothesis that wearing gloves to limit peoples contact with her skin protected them, and that prolonged exposure ended up killing them.. She took out her teachers at the school, following them home after class then leaving their bodies with the one already out in the harbor from her driver. They gave her too much homework anyway. Then she moved on to killing the girls more pretty than her already rather fair looks. Next came the students smarter than her. But by this time the missing persons count was piling up. Several dozen people had simply up and gone at her school in just 3 short days. Police were brought in as many began to believe there was something at the school responsible for the disappearances. Naturally this annoyed Melissa as she had to halt her plans whilst she avoided the cops.

However, it was whilst she lay lounging about at her apartment home, both her parents with her for a change, that her most brilliant and daring idea struck Melissa yet. Her folks constantly told her to seek power, the more she had of it, the better. In fact, her father was even a little bit disapproving of the lack of success his daughter had had so far in her life. Sure she owned her own fashion line, had the entire high school twisted around her little finger, and commanded respect everywhere she went, yet it was not nearly enough in his eyes. Well that was about to change. Melissa was going to kill her own parents.

Her eyes cold, but her lips twisted up into a smug smirk, Mel walked out into the living room and gently placed her bare hands on her unsuspecting parents necks. Whilst they had loved her in their own way, Mel and her folks had never been close. To the ambitious little murderess they were nothing but the pair between her and the power she thought she deserved. And just like that, Mel inherited the entire Vulcan franchise. Her folks swimming with in the harbor like so many others.

Now officially one of the richest and most powerful people on the planet, Mel moved to her penthouse in Jump City so she was closer to the main headquarters for Vulcan, dropping out of her final few weeks of high school as she did so. In no way was Mel dumb or anything, in fact she has an incredibly high IQ. Her mind groomed from childhood to be highly analytical and calculating in all situations. She just saw no point in wasting her time with those losers when she should be working on extending her range of control through her new company.

Within a year Vulcan had increased it’s annual profit by 23% and bought out over 200 smaller companies in the Americas alone. It was during this year that Mel also discovered she could turn her touch abilities off at will, killing several of her assistants as she forgot to focus on stopping the flow of energy, and killing those she didn’t drain dry so they couldn’t tell others about her secret. Luckily when you own most of a city, are in control of a small army, and have blackmail that can topple every crime organization in Jump, people tend to do what you demand of them, such as disposing of bodies without asking questions of why they look 150 years old.

It was also during this time that Mel found out about her eye powers, accidentally finding them as she took a walk at the park tossing a pebble in her hand as she strolled. She continued explore this facet of her gifts, discovering she was limited to turning people into varying forms of stone and that she could only turn a certain amount of people at one time. She decide to try a form of super power alchemy as she hit 20 to see if she had any other weird powers, and shortly after her 21st Mel discovered her blood powers, accidentally poisoning her cat… then her dog… then her new cat and dog… then the secretary that could never make a good coffee… then the boss of a rival insurance company she went for a lunch meeting with and subsequently bought out.

It always amazed Mel that no one ever put the excessive amount of deaths that happen when she’s around down to the fact that people died because she was around. Somehow the young woman who regularly appeared on tv interviews and seemed so nice and warm to those around her, with a healthy goal of improving her company as a tribute to the unfortunate early demise of her folks, furthering their dreams in their absence despite giving up her young years to do so, just didn’t strike people as capable of murdering hundreds, and enjoying the process. Of course Mel is fine with people thinking that. Makes her job that much easier.

In the last few months Mel has turned her goals a little. She still quests for power, money, and control, however since she’s taken most of what she can worldwide at the moment, she figures it’s time to venture into something new. A new tactic if you will.

After much careful planning, bribery, and blackmail, Mel has chosen to turn her hand towards crime. Her aim, to control the crime system of Jump City. Unlike the other idiots out there, Mel has approached her new plan from a smarter angle. One cannot simply charge out into the City and demand all swear fealty to her. If the villains didn’t kill her, the Titans would. No, crime is a business, and Mel was excellent at business. The boss doesn’t do everything. That’s why lackeys were invented. She owned a huge security firm after all! Minions galore, and if they didn’t do what she told them too, she’d just kill them. For the more crime rich parts of her plan, she’d simply blackmail some super into working for her. Blackmail really was more effective than death threats.

When it comes to working on her more… secret plans, Mel refers to herself as Medusa. If her darker side were to come to the public light she’d be ruined. So she makes it a point not to meet face to face with those she hires. Almost all her villain deeds are done via her cell phone. Technology these days, it’s oh so handy.

Sample RP (Short for me, but you get my style)
Melissa Stone leaned against the cool metal rails of her balcony, her eyebrows lowering for a moment as she felt the unmistakable feeling of dampness spreading through the material of her light brown sweater. Obviously the morning dew had yet to evaporate off the rail. Putting that small annoyance to the back of her mind for now, Mel let her gaze roam slowly over the rooftops of Jump City below her.

The young billionaire’s lips curved up into a tight smile at that thought. Yes, the city was below her. Not just because her penthouse apartment was 50 floors up off the ground, but rather because she owned most of it. Legally she owned half the businesses in the city, the other half were either soon to be added to her company, were in business deals with some of her companies and completely reliant on her trade, or being bullied and blackmailed by some human gangs who in turn were being blackmailed by Medusa, who just so happened to be Mel. She was the queen of this town, and soon she would have even more control over it.

Letting a soft, content, sigh escaped her lips, Mel laced her fingers together and perched her chin atop them as she watched a particular blue car at a traffic light a block from her. Soon she would begin her plan to start turning the more super villains to her side. She wouldn’t give them much of a choice really. Even villains need food, water. To get that you need a house with power, you need money. What happens when all your money is cut off, your house is taken from you, your allies turn against you. Why attack a man, when you can attack everything that makes him?

Mel smirked again as she lifted her sunglasses up to rest atop her head, revealing her strangely colored eyes. If anyone looked her way now they’d die, but it was their fault for spying on her at 6 in the morning. Besides, it was rare that she got to take the glasses off, and it did feel oddly freeing to be able to see the world several shades brighter than she normally did.

The blue car had moved on down the streets and out of Mel’s sight by now, but the young killer didn’t mind, her thoughts were more focused on going through yet another check on her plan. She didn’t want anything to be left to chance. She had to win the city, and she’d only have one chance to do so.

Suddenly startled from her checks by movement before her, Mel’s eyes locked onto those of the dove flying lazily past her. As if in slow motion, the girl’s eyes flashed a deep orange, a sight rarely seen due to her orbs almost always being hidden from view. As they flashed the bird’s wings curled back into it’s sides as it’s head flopped downwards, it’s body solidifying into grey, almost marble-like, stone. It was dead as dead could be, had been since the moment Mel’s eyes flashed, it was 50 floors up and that meant there was only one thing that could happen now. Slowly the statue of the white bird dropped to the road 50 floors below, making a pleasing display as it shattered as it landed. Yes that bird was definitely dead.

To Mel it was a sign.

Pulling her glasses back down over her eyes, the billionaire stalked back into her penthouse. Her plans would succeed, for nothing on this planet could stop her. If ever the Titans got too close, why she’d simply remove her glasses and have at it, problem solved. Yes, things were definitely going to go Mel’s way. She’d kill anyone who thought otherwise.

Alright, congrats, you're the first person getting reviewed upon my triumphant return.

o.o

First of all, I really like how you've done this character and its really interesting, and its always great to have a villain around, but as it is, the 'Eyes' power has to go. Completely. Its a 90% auto-hit. Unless you can figure out a way to make it adapt; in that case I'd be willing to consider it.

Other than that, the 'Touch' power cannot permanently age a person. The moment she lets go, the person should revert to normal, otherwise, it too is not approved.

I can deal with blood though, and the app looks awesome otherwise.

I hope you can make the changes soon. Reply to this message when you're done editing or have a question. I'd be glad to help!
