Stone Sword vs Odachi

Lance looked over to where Grace came from the clearing and Malferus took advantage of this. Malferus goes and delivers a spinning back kick to Lance's stomach area. Lance went sliding back into a tree and hit it. Lance fell to the ground, but was able to hold himself in a kneeling position with his sword. Grace had ran over to help him up.

"This guy came out of nowhere and challenged me to a sword fight. I don't know what this is about, but I think he wants it between me and him."

Malferus kept his distance as he looked at Grace aid Lance. He stuck his sword into the ground and crossed his arms.

"Get up boy! This is between the two of us only. I don't want you're girlfriend interfering with this or I WILL have to kill her."

Lance listened as he threatened Grace. This just gave Lance a large spark of energy through anger. Grace was about to go step in because of this threat, but Lance put his hand on her shoulder as if to tell her to keep a leveled head and let him handle this. He wasn't trying to be manly or macho. Lance slowly walked back up to Malferus. Lance had his blade drawn, ready for round two. Malferus smirked under the garment covering his face as he grabbed his sword again, getting ready.

Lance waits for Malferus to make the first move. This was Lance's usual way of fighting, wait and strike. He adopted this way of fighting after that day he fought and trained with Zack. Malferus goes with a stab towards Lance. Lance parried it off to the right as Malferus could not stop coming towards him. Lance winded up with his left hand and went for a punch at Malferus' face. Malferus though was able to catch Lance's punch with his right hand. Lance was shocked and Malferus headbutts Lance in the chest. Lance stumbles back a little and shakes it off.

"This guys way of fighting is different. He might be too good for me."

Malferus didn't hold back and went in for multiple strikes on Lance. Lance was barely able to keep up with him and barely block the shots. Lance then ducked one of his side slashes to the head and went for a leg swipe. Malferus jumped over it and went for a spinning elbow. Malferus put a knee up and Lance's elbow collided with Malferus' knee. Malferus came down with an attempt to hit Lance right onto his head with his sword. Lance brought his sword up again and blocked the shot. Back to another stand still.

Malferus and lance struggled for one of them to take the upper hand. Lance was able to push Malferus off him due to Lance having the better ground. Malferus was starting to get impressed with Lance. You could tell Malferus had a wide grin on his face as he stared Lance down.

"I underestimated you kid. I didn't think you would put up much of a fight if any."

The words did not phase Lance at all. He had one target and it was standing in front of him. Lance decided to go on the offence this time. He let out a flurry of attacks. Malferus was able to keep up and block all of Lances attacks. One after the other was being blocked. Lance came down with a strike that Malferus blocked, but as Malferus was blocking Lance threw an elbow to Malferus' face. Lance's confidence was building as he just struck Malferus right across the cheek. A little cut from the elbow was left on Malferus' face. Malferus stumbled back as he then reached for the cheek that was struck. A little bit of blood trickled out of it. Lance let out a few deep breathes, trying to catch his breath. You could tell Malferus was getting angry by the way he was gritting down on his teeth.

Malferus scanned the battlefield with his eyes. He looked around and then just though of something. It was a pretty dirty trick he thought of, but Malferus was losing his cool right now. Lance was ready, waiting patiently. Malferus went and then threw his sword. Lance almost flinched as he thought it was going to go for him. Lance then quickly realized it wasn't going for him, but Grace instead. Lance sprinted over to go and save Grace.

"NO!"

Lance would scream as he ran. It felt as if time was going in slow motion right now. Lance was almost there, but the sword was inching oh so closer to Grace. Lance dove and caught Grace between his arms, bringing her down. Lance broke the fall by using his body as the sword went and easily sliced through the tree like it was nothing. Lance looked back to where Malferus was and he was gone from his spot. Lance then turned around and saw him pulling his sword from one of the trees that it finally got stuck in.

"Hmph.... we'll meet again..."

As Malferus said this he then disappeared into the trees. Lance then looked at Grace, who was on top of him.

"Are you okay?"

Lance went and just lied on the ground in relief. His heart was beating extremely fast before, but now it started to go back to normal. Lance let out a deep breath as he let his head lay against the ground. He looked at Grace as he ran his hand through his hair.

"Often no. More like my second time someone randomly came and attacked me... Why are things so weird around here?"

"Ugh, yeah."

Lance gladly took it. Lance went under his shirt and put it against his chest. His chest was hurting a bit after that headbutt he received earlier. Their would probably be only a slight bruise there.

"Thanks by the way."

Lance sat up as Grace brought the cookies to him. He smiled. He thought it was so kind of her to bring him some cookies. Lance grabbed one from the plate and took a bite. Boy were they good.

"Thanks a lot! These are really good."
