the wanderer (emmz)

with intel from the league itself there was contact to be made with an informant whom had resided within jump city for some time now  and knew the lay of the land when it came to its dirty underbelly.  he had answered with caution, wanting to meet in a public setting. his choice being a moderately hidden market in a part of downtown that was mostly occupied by various asian communities.

entering into the market, al-safira would have on appearance looked out of place - to a degree. she wore her league uniform with the hood down, giving sight to her dirtyt-blonde hair that hung down behind her shoulders in a loose ponytail. a balaclava covered her mouth and the bottom half of her face - you could still tell a lot about a person from their eyes. this was maybe the one place she wouldn't be too quizzed about the blade strung to her back. moving through the crowd, weaving a path among the bodies. ahead she could see the informant sat on a step outside an antiques shop - he was a scrawny asian man, bald but with a long goatee.

"good to see you made it, traveler". he said, offering a soft smile as he looked up from his newspaper on al-safira's approach. she would nod in return, letting out a tiresome breath. "the demon thanks you for your future cooperation, lets not waste more time". the man's smile drew wider in return. nearby the word 'demon' had garnered the attention of some others. men dressed in black suits of asian heritage begun departing from what they were doing and moving towards the two.  "very well". the informant nodded before then leading his guest inside his shop.

Nina would be picking up some shopping from the market, her ears flicking in the direction when she heard a familiar voice and she looked over to the hooded person, a familiar scent wafted over too, yes, this was another person that Nina had been hoping to eventually find, although she had to be careful, not come off too strong, this was more dangerous of a situation. Nina would discreetly follow into the shop, looking like a normal customer, which for all intents and purposes, she was.

inside was, well, dusty. almost immediately al-safira felt validated in her decision to wear a balaclava that shielded her from the dust and its mites. the shop was pretty full, stacked. there were antiques squished together just to fit in. no order to it at all, just a mess. the man had wandered behind the counter and reached down to grab a map that he set out on the surface. the map was of jump city - certainly not up to date with modern improvements made to its layout. she stood the other side with eyes peeled down at the map, watching intently. "okay, there are several lets say... factions, that you need to be aware about. you can't just go brandishing a sword anywhere my friend".

that was when the sound of something almost falling over. turning around she reached for the ōdachi on her back as several suited men stepped out. one talked in some asian language that safira hadn't learned. "what he say?". her fingers coiled around the blade's handle. "hopefully that he wants to pay a fee for what he knocked over".
