Dish Best Served (Bloo)

Rome was falling, it seemed. Greed was feeling rather melancholy about it if he was honest. He had looked at the forces that were invading and knew there was practically no chance of winning this one, so he wasn't really eager to throw his life away trying to defend his slums from the United States invasion. He had been killing time in his makeshift palace. On the wall was spray painted 'This too shall pass...' and he was laying lazily in the chair staring at the wall.
When Wrath came in, Greed gave him an even look with a frown.

"It's been a while, yeah." Greed had vague memories of his old self, reminding him who was in front of him. Why, he had little clue. He'd honestly forgotten if he'd done anything to anger his brother. "Hn. It's a start to a collection. You know me. I want more... but alas, this too shall pass!"

He gestured to the wall, sitting up and cracking his back with a yawn.
"Why are you even here, anyway? Usually where you go something terrible follows, if I'm remembering correctly. The memories get a little fuzzy sometimes."

Greed's curiosity was starting to peak as his brother continued to speak. The case was tossed at his and landed roughly on Greed's stomach. He let out a bit of an oof and reflexively sat forward. Finally straightening himself to be upright and sitting in the chair properly, he looked down on the case that was given to him.

"A gift? You shouldn't have." He said dryly, trying to figure out how to open it. He was sure that with enough time he, he would be able to... but time was one of the many things Greed didn't have enough of. "A locked suitcase? I'll cherish it forever."

The sarcasm was dripping now. Greed put the case down heavily next to the "throne" he sat on.
"You've been acting someway, then? Do you mean you've been pretending to be something you're not? I don't get the implication, buddy."

If Greed sounded short, it's because he was. It was not his day, clearly.

If it had been anyone else, Greed probably would have had them escorted out by this point. He wasn't a fan of wasting his time. Especially in a setting like this, where his time was precious and quickly draining. Greed stood up, stretching as he did. He wasn't sure why Wrath was giving him a history lesson, or why he thought Greed would care... but he had an idea what the ending would be like. For that, Greed wanted to be limber.

"I couldn't tell you what a phrase means to you. Defeats the purpose of self reflection. Maybe you should see Lust for that? I hear she can do some things with your brain, you know." Greed mused, moving to open the case when Wrath said boom. He raised a brow at his brother, not believing there was a bomb in the case.

"Don't take me for a fool. I know you enough to know a bomb in a case isn't how you'd kill me." Greed said confidently. "I don't know what got you so deep and reflective, but it's not becoming of you Wrath. I don't really fawn after ideas, you know. You say material things are transient, but they aren't the thing that passes for me. For me it's the desire, you know? I want something, then it passes and I want something new. For now, I want to know what's inside the box."

Greed declared, brushing off the philosophical talk completely and kicking open the case to see the insides.

When Greed saw the grin, he crouched on his knees to see the picture. It was shockingly familiar... was that him getting out of a cab? Oh. Ohhhhh. So that's why his brother sought Greed out, then? Greed's new world he'd worked hard to build was crumbling, and what is it that caught him? Some full time recording of a traffic light randomly placed in a suburb angled so high it even saw a house up to the doorway? What were the chances, really.
"I'd honestly forgotten I'd taken that from you. Hah."

Greed mused a bit, peeking up while the video still played.
"That's pretty funny. You're here to kill me, even though you know it won't bring her back or anything. That's rich, kid."

His attention snapped back to the screen just in time to notice the video had ended. That's when things got messy. There was an explosion and a gunshot, and Greed made no effort to dodge either. With his body crouched over a claymore, there was little hope for him. He was sent flying a few feet back, blood spurting everywhere.
"Hah... and I thought... you'd actually fight... me."

Those were Greed's last words as his demonic host started to crumble to ash, sending his body and soul back to Hell as he died. This Greed had died for the second time in a decade. How exciting.
