4 Kids and the Spire (DD, Moon, Amon)

Leo eyes narrowed. Every part of him wanted to scream, how this wasn't one of her B-team games, and that she was more of a burden than a help but decided against it. Leo had enough self control to restrain himself from saying it out of anger. "I don't think dying is a good way to help anyone. Look, I'm going to be honest with you... had I not gotten us out of there we all would have burned to a crisp." Leo sighed. He hated the feeling but he knew that he wouldn't be able to fight the fire creature and still protect those two. He would look at the other female that had been taken with them. "Uhhh ouch..." he said looking at her leg.

When Ella started talking to him again, Leo simply responded calmly trying not to turn this into an argument, lord knows that never ends well. Then Ella would walk away which would annoy Leo even further. He already had a plan to deal with the fire creature, or at least an idea of how he was going to do it. "It's simple... you two will stay down here while I go deal with the walking lighter upstairs." Leo shrugged. "Unless you two are suddenly resistant to burning flames... I would advise that you two stay down here."

Leo would then begin floating up towards the sewer's ceiling. He would wait for an answer from either Ella or the new girl before deciding on the next course of action. He noticed that the girl's broken leg had healed already, well that pretty much confirmed that he dragged a non-normal girl down with him.

Over on the top side things weren't looking so peachy. Once could say that the city was on fire... Ok well everyone could say that. The burning monster would walk through the town setting everything ablaze while it looked for it's prey. Who would have expected for someone to bring its prey out basically on a platter. The moment when Kiara came into clear firing range of the monster it would begin to unload it's burning payload at the bait and it's carrier. If she dodged it more of the city would be on fire. The monster wouldn't care though, not like it would have to live here, right? 7-8 fire balls would fly through the air at the hero.

The woman being lifted by Kiara protested at being taken with her. "You fool! Leave me and go before you get yourself killed!" She would screech before being picked up. At first she expected to be taken away from the burning beast, but she could feel her being brought closer to the burning creature. It was odd, it was like they could feel each other. She cried out, "Let me go!" She would cry slightly pulling away from the direction she was being taken. The heat surrounding the creature was intense, so intense it would cause whom ever got within 10 feet would instantly break out into a sweat. The creature would only roar in response.

Downtown was starting to look like the inside of a blast furnace. Kiara's original relief that she was not clad in stifling garments was replaced with a concern that much of her skin was exposed to the spitting flames and airborne ashes. She had the distinct impression this was a bad idea, her tagalong certainly seemed to think so. She looked forward to the hindsight. As they approached, the inferno beast seemed to notice their presence and come to face them. That the girl and it could feel each other was not lost on Kiara. She could observe such invisible attractions, it had only been too faint before. That confirmed what she wanted to know. Now it was time to make haste to the ocean. Yet Benighted dare not take her eyes off the creature.

It unleashed some more of its fury, directly aimed at her. Although she was encumbered, Kiara did not need her hands to counteract. Astral energy shot from her body and intercepted the fireballs that would have scorched her. It was an odd interaction, her energy could effect the insubstantial. It would push the flames aside and divert them off their course, yet it did not smother them. There was nothing expended as the fire roared around her person and rained down on the streets below. It was displaced, not neutralised.

The air around her rose in temperature exponentially. One of the remaining feathers on her headdress spontaneously set alight. Sweat poured rivers down her body as she shook loose the firebrand. That wasn't fun, she had to avoid being in the centre of that again. Kiara made to leave.

She didn't get far. There were sounds of metal expanding and brick cracking all along the street. Sudden thermal stresses on the surrounding windows caused them to shatter and showered Kiara. This was followed, out of the smoke, by something vaguely billboard shaped. With a few seconds to react Kiara used her astral blast to boost the strange girl through a nearby window (she would apologise later). The billboard clipped her on its way down and sent Kiara tail-spinning towards the cafe where all this began. Her fall impacted on the remnants of an umbrella.

Leo cursed as Ella began running towards the manhole cover. "Its things like this that are going to get you killed." He watched as she climbed and escaped through the hole. He didn't run after her though he would instead just phase through the concrete. He had no intentions of abandoning her. He wasn't going to let her get killed, at least not today.

The beast roared as it continued to follow behind his target. Its eyes or at least what one believed to be the eyes were focused on the girl in the astral garb. Once Kiara was separated from the target the beast would turn to follow the mystery girl. It was then a rock would soar through the air and collide with the creature. Turning its head it let out a loud roar before firing multiple blasts of flames at Ella. The heat alone was equivalent to the heat that nearly fried Leo when he was protecting them. If it landed, it would explode on contact.

Advancing on the magma monster. Not the smartest of her dumb ideas. A fluke had prevented her from a broken back. Kiara rose from the shattered table tenderly. She looked at the skeleton of the umbrella which had saved her life. Nope. That still couldn't bring her to like the things. She would never own an umbrella no matter how many caught her in freefall (long story). But her disastrous run had taught her what she needed to know. The Infernal Inferno and the girl shared a bond. That was something to work with.

Which meant nothing if she couldn't remember where she had left her cargo. Honestly, she'd gotten turned around in the fall and couldn't pick out which window she'd shot-putted the girl through. To further complicate things, there were people in imminent danger. Not that it was any of her business (she'd hate to be rude and butt in on a private slaughtering) but she had kind of taken responsibility for the crazed conflagration.

Kiara shot another of her astral beams and pushed aside the fire-blast fractionally. She then came to float over to Ella, nursing her sores, "Can't do that forever. Are you... are you trying to fight it?" And she thought her plans were suicidal.

Leo after phasing through the concrete would watch as Ella almost got hit with a ball of fire. He held his breath expecting her to get turned into ash. He knew he couldn't make it in time. Though as luck would have it, she wasn't fried some random chick decided to redirect the fire. Leo just stood half his body floating through concrete as he watched the beast turn away from Ella and them and walk back towards its original target.

Ella however not learning from the lesson of don't poke the bear decided to call for its attention. Something she was not exactly accomplishing as the beast would continue in the opposite direction. Leo sighed and began to float after it, curious more than anything on its destination. He of course stayed far enough so that the intense heat wouldn't kill him. He would just follow the fire elemental on its path.

The creature would begin to walk towards the fallen astral girl's location. Almost as if it was drawn to it. Leo watched as it trudged towards its destination leaving a small trail of flames behind it. Leo would just float behind in silence, the heat from the monster did cause the concrete to melt as it walked.

As Ella ran off again the shaman murmured a reply, "Leo?" Whoever this girl was she was doing her darndest to see that not only were the civilians unharmed, but the monster as well. Kiara no longer supposed that it meant no harm. She thought it understood what it was doing perfectly. She thought it just didn't care. But there was noble sentiment in trying to preserve it despite that.

Well if someone so high-minded could make a stand, then Kiara would do no less. She would believe in this Leo, whoever he may be, as the wind girl did. She would trust in them, "Hey! It's after someone. It shares a spiritual link with a woman. I could possibly break that. But it would not stop the rampage. This, however, might." Lucky it was ignoring them. Kiara aimed an astral blast at the creature's back. The attack sapped vitality. If struck with enough energy most beings fell into a deep slumber in search of rejuvenation. A non-fatal way of subduing their foe.

And if she failed, well, she would have bought more time for the others.

Leo would follow behind the monster without saying anything. Floating to the side to barely avoiding the blasts sent by Kiara, Leo shot a look at whomever shot it. From the direction he saw that it was someone he didn't know. Well at least it wasn't Ella doing something stupid again. The beast who was hit with the blast would turn its head at the closest person to it. In this case Leo, it's body grew slightly as it prepared to let out a torrent of fire hot enough to melt steel beams. Though before it could fire a large blue energy wall formed in between Leo and the monster.

Leo looked up to see a figure that would be unfamiliar to all but Kiara. The woman with the astral garb would hold a hand outstretched as the wall blocked the intense flames that shot from the beasts lips. The Beast finally laying eyes on its target would prepare to jump at its target. Almost immediately markings began to form on the ground beneath not only the beast, but also Leo, kiara and ella. The three heroes would find themselves, like the monster unable to move. An immense pressure would force any of the airborne heroes to the ground causing Leo to smash into the ground.

The woman would float over them and with eyes glowing say in a voice more powerful than the one that Kiara heard. "This test has gone on long enough." With that the trio were no longer in Jump city. Instead they found themselves in a entirely new setting. It seemed reminiscent of a tower. The room that they are currently in was dark. All they could see was two people. A man in a top hat and a suit, and the woman who just teleported them out of what appeared to be Jump.
