| Hotwire sped down the streets of Jump on his cycle, responding to an armored car hijacking. They reported men in red and black body armor. As he neared the live GPS co-ordinates of the armored car, the computer chimed in. "Witness descriptions perameters match no known recorded groups." It explained. Hotwire sighed as he pulled out onto a main road. The armored car was currently maneuvering the same road. It was protected, but more sluggish than hotwire's cycle, which was designed for response speed. As he approached the back, he got in position to leap into the back doors of the car. Of course, those doors were magnetically locked. Fortunately, Hotwire's powers were the skeleton key. With a flash of his eyes, the door swung open, and the men turned to face the young man who preoceeded to pounce into the back of the truck. With a punch, he knocked one of the goons to the ground. They all appeared to be wearing some for of enhancement armor. Something about the designs seemed familiar, but Hotwire couldn't place it. Without a second thought, he decided he would deactivate any physical actuators inside the armor. But when he went to scan for them... Those eyes... why was that the only thing he could see? The rest of their bodies were just a blur but... those eyes! He stumbled back as his tech vision cut out. He then stumbled in another direction as one of the goons socked him in the gut. his head began to ring as the men advanced on him. Hotwire, realizing he stood no chance, jumped back out onto his motorcycle. One of the men pulled out what looked like a small gun. But it looked ancient, yet streamlined all at once. With a lance of red energy, he blew out Hotwire's tire. Hotwire had made some handling improvements since that last crash, which coincidentally occurred during another armored car related chase a little under a year prior. With a schreech, the automated sbalizers kicked in as the cycle skid to a calm stop. Much better than last time. Hotwire could only watch on as the armored car sped off into the outskirts of the city. Once they made the freeway they'd be home free. But the fact they escaped wasn't hotwire's main concern. No. It was those eyes. And the look of all those suits, and their weapons. He knew they felt familiar. And seeing them in the mind eye of his powers, it all clicked. | |
