Null In Void (HIVE)

"We fight". A simple plan, bare bones. If there was a group of Zydons awaiting them outside, whatever way they got outside; a fight is what is destined to happen. Only this time, Pix needs to step up, get his hands dirty and fight as well - contribute in someway. "We have to wipe them out, no loose ends. You two, do what you can...". Quinn wasn't expecting a miracle here. Pix had been frozen, Kris had been on the verge of death. Their little party wasn't in the best condition. "...then I'll do the rest". Quinn would say, gripping her sword tightly. If there was a large amount of Zydons awaiting them, chances are that she'll have to tap into that psychopath mindset to force a route through them. Of course, this is exactly the situation where Quinn would prefer to have her ringblade on her. But... a sword will do nicely. "That's the plan". Never mind working out the finer details of how fire cured Kris of his injuries, or cleansed his system of the poison. That was all admin work for some assassin working in a cubicle to figure out.

That shouldn't have worked. It was against logic. Pix was a little annoyed that it had worked. And that annoyance caused him guilt. How could he be dissatisfied with the outcome? His friend had lived! Kris was walking! It was far better than any of the rational solutions he'd been proposing. And that caused confliction in Pix. He went around assuming he was correct about everything, because his ideas were based on accordance with reason. But today... He'd almost gotten them all killed.

"Attack is;" Pix caught himself mid sentence, murmuring his response instead, "attack is never a plan." Hugh had just discovered he could be, not just wrong, but catastrophically so. And yet, he didn't want to just discount his own opinion, "You two work on your exit strategy. I'll grab their attention. Ekmed isn't the only one who can fool an audience." Taking the departed Prior's robe and mask, Pix knew he had a problem. He would never believe he was anything less than one-hundred percent right.

An electronic switchboard in the observation dome hummed to life as Hugh pulled a switch. The glass panelling above the telescope slid back, opening a pathway into the night sky. The flames covering the rooftop momentarily divided, and Pix flew through this gap, giving the illusion he had parted the flames. He was wearing Ekmed's attire. Covered from head-to-toe. He didn't know how this robe allowed him to fly, but it was easy enough to control.

A ring of acolytes looked up expectantly at him. Their bodies cast half in darkness, half in firelight. Pix glanced over to the adjacent hill and saw an identical abandoned observatory over there. Meant they wouldn't have to rebuild this one, at least. The sprite realised that the acolytes were expecting him to speak. He'd realised too late that speaking in English would be suspicious. The aliens would speak Zydonese.

He improvised, "Ek Et Nu Bis Tah?"

The response was unanimous, "EK ET NU BIS TAH!" The religious Elite shouted, genuflecting before him. Their hoods dipped, and their bodies falling to the ground. Oh good, they were the bowing type.

Kris looked at Pix, "Hmm..." Kris walked around collecting his weapons, puting them in their respective holsters. Kris then took out his Laser Katana and cut a hole in the wall, walking out, "Let's go, we should report some of this to TIBERIOUS."

Thought had Kris looked behind him as he exited the observatory, he would find no-one. Quinn was gone, long gone, actually. But where to? Well, Quinn outlined a plan beforehand, a simple one; fight.

Outside were the Acolytes, bowing down to their impostor of a leader. It was perfect, it drew their attention away better than any could've hoped for. But now, it was time for the 'badass' moment. Immigrant Song by Led Zeppelin would work here, as a sword flew through the air from the observatory, piercing through the chest of the elite acolyte whom had spoken up to Pix. He fell to the floor, death settling in as his comrades leapt up and down, enraged. In the distance they would see the outline of Quinn charging towards them, having to narrowly duck and dive between firebolt attacks. As she reached the elite, Quinn ripped the sword from his chest and continued charging towards another Zydon. He lunged forth to attack, but Quinn made a roulette motion around him, then stabbing backwards with her sword through his back. She pulled the sword out, and he fell to the floor, but two more approached. One seemed quicker, and Quinn spat a blob of poison towards his face. The Zydon grabbed his face in pain, and was turned around by Quinn before being thrown towards his friend. The other Zydon caught his friend, but together they felt a sharp sensation as Quinn drove her sword through both, pulling the sword out quickly for the two to collapse to the floor in unison.

There was only two more left now, much bulkier and more built than the ones before. In both hands, he held a huge mace. He proved to be slow as he approached Quinn. His comrade fired a ball of fire towards Quinn, scorching the floor where her feet was, but she leaped out of the way just in time, rolling to the left and to her feet. The brute now swung his mace wildly at Quinn, though she jumped back, and ducked down low to avoid the numerous swings. Spitting poison again, the brute got his arm up to avoid the contact with his face. He roared as his arm burned, but it gave Quinn the chance to slash at the brute's stomach area. The brute fell down to one knee, and now Quinn would clamp down onto his shoulder with her fangs as poison was injected into his bloodstream. Quinn held the bite for a few seconds before backing away, as the brute dropped his mace, crying in pain and snatching at the air before falling down onto the ground. One left. He began conjuring up an ice blast, but... he was cut off as the sword flew towards him, piercing through his throat. The Zydon spat out a load of blood, falling to his knees, and then collapsing to the ground.

"Not a good look for you". Quinn would say, looking to Pix as she retrieved her sword from the corpse of the last remaining Zydon.

Very unsteadily, Pix landed. On his backside. It was difficult to control flight you had no idea where the propulsion came from. Thank goodness he hadn't had to fight in it. Given half a chance Quinn had killed them all. It was finally over. Cleanup was his job now. Explaining to the Zydons why they had massacred an entire religious sect. The sprite shook off his hood and threw down the mask. He smirked at Quinn's comment. (^～^)

"Hmm. Strange. Only now I can kinda see where Ekmed was coming from. That being worshipped thing. It felt good. Do you think we could work in a bit of bowing to how you guys greet me? Quinn...? Kris...? Guys! Don't walk away from me! I know where you live!"
