An Invasion?! (FULL)

It was a sunny day for Jump City, the birds were singing and the water under the bridge was sparkling. It seemed like any other day, rather warm for winter, but this was California, warm weather year round was to be expected. The bridge was backed up with traffic, among the many vehicles waiting to get in the city was none other than Kristoff Makarov, the young HIVE agent, on his motorcycle. He was out for a ride to give him time away from the busy city, but now on his way back, all he wanted to do was sit on the couch and watch some TV. 

   "C'mon! What's the hold up?!" the teenager yelled out, getting visibly annoyed. Suddenly, the sun was blotted out with a monstrous roar, Kristoff looked up and, to his complete shock, he saw a gigantic vessel that looked like it was ripped straight out of a Science-Fiction Horror flick. It hovered there for a few minutes before being joined by more vessels, identical to the first. One of those vessels soundly let out a loud sound that was comparable to the long drone used in the movie Inception and its underbelly glowed a bright red, only to be blasted down by ground forces. The gigantic ship landed in the forest not too far off the bridge, and then a second volley from the ground attempted to take a second vessel down, but with no effect, it had its shields up.
   
   "Houston, we have a problem," Kris said into his earpiece, trying to contact his fellow HIVE members. Just then, a massive amount of smaller air vehicles flew from the main ships, one of them hovering the bridge before releasing its contents of what looked to be big, bulky robots with massive arm cannons. People tried to drive away, others tried to run, but the brutes started to blasted any cars in their way and rip apart the civilians they could grab.

   Kris cracked his neck and pulled out his laser katana, running at them, he was no hero, but as far as he was concerned, Jump City was HIVE territory. Kristoff ran up to them and sliced at the brutes, but to his horror the blade made only small scratches. One of the big guys smashed Kris away and sent him flying into a car, breaking many bones in his body. The brute then blasted Kristoff, but, to their regret, Kris is an Energy Vampire and, with the high concentration of heat from their weapon, healed him to almost complete health. Kris then got ready to fight again, but he couldn't do this alone, where were the Titans when he actually wanted them around?!

Speaking of Titans one happened to be patrolling the skies when the craft descended. He watched some of the smaller craft take off and as much as he wanted to stop them there were people in more immediate danger here. He flipped over and dove for the ground extending his spears on both hands.

There wasn't a crash or anything but Tim did see someone with a special weapon. They would be best to check with, he flipped over and landed on his feet his trenchcoat hanging open revealing a large white T on his chest. "I'm with the titans whats going on?" Tim didn't really get a chance to wait for the answer though. He saw one of the braves level it's cannons and took off suddenly flying at the brutish figure. He watched the laser charge and spun up and over the intended path as it unleashed.

This left it open for a moment. He spun in the air kicking it in the chest with both feet and taking all 8 of his spears to cut into the laser. It took a moment but the cannon was sheared from its arm. The victory was short lived when it threw him off to skid across the ground. He was bruised and bloodied but luckily a titan never travels alone.

Tim glanced back and called out. "Hey buddy I could use a bite to eat if you have the time." He hoped Kale would have come out rather than chasing the smaller craft. If he hadn't well this would be much more difficult.

Dar was on his way to the woods. He hadn't been camping out in these woods yet, which was a shame. But now that he had obtained an actual sleeping bag, he was excited to spend a night under the stars.

But then the stars came to him.

Space ships appeared in the air. One of them looked like it was going to blow up the city, before getting shot down. The vessel managed to crash-land in the woods, still intact. Smaller ships started deploying some heavily armored aliens sporting jet-packs and laser canons.

It was like the end of the world, Dar thought. He pulled his claymore out from his back-mounted sheath and dropped his bag. Jump City was his property, or at least it would be one day. He couldn't allow these aliens to cause it harm.

An alien Brave leveled his gun at Dar. Dar managed to jump to the side just before the alien fired, but the laser still burned a hole in the side of his arm. Dar clenched his teeth. These lasers were too fast to dodge, and burned right through him. If he got shot by one of these guns in a vital area, he would die.

Closing the distance between himself and the Brave, Dar brought his sword slamming down on the alien's shoulder. He grinned with satisfaction as the Brave hit the ground in a pool of blood. Not even these intruders could withstand the wrath of Dar.

He looked up to see another alien. This one wasn't wearing a mask or anything, and Dar could see that they looked just like humans. Close enough anyways. This Elect had spiked blue hair and glowing white eyes under his hood. He held out his hand towards Dar and grinned. Dar grinned back. What was the little man going to do?

Fire streamed forth from the man's open hand. Dar's eyes opened in disbelief. Was this magic? He didn't understand, which was a rare occurrence for him. Whatever the source, the fire burned him all the same.

Dar looked around frantically and was delighted to see a river nearby. He ran over there at 120 miles per hour, leaving the chuckling Elect behind. Even with all the wind, the fire didn't go out. Dar struggled to keep his eyes open as his flaming body approached the pristine water in front of him. With one final jump, he landed in the river and drowned the flames. Only then did hid body allow him to feel the pain of being burned alive. It was unbearable, even for a warrior like himself. Dar didn't want to move from the river, but he knew that wouldn't be an option. While other meta-humans from Jump City were showing up to defend their home, there were a lot of aliens running around here.

Chaos would probably be the best word to describe the situation unfurling before Yuri's eyes. It was her first trip to the city outskirts, and honestly, an alien invasion was one of the last things she expected to see. But there it was. It was no use denying what was happening right in front of her. The driver of the cab she was in didn't hesitate to abandon his vehicle and run in the opposite direction. And she couldn't blame him. In situations like this, it was best to trust one's instincts, and his told him to get out of there fast.

Yuri stepped out of the car herself and quickly surveyed the situation. Armored hostiles were being dropped by small ships. They appeared to possess beam weapons as well. Civilian casualties would be high if nothing was done quickly. Fortunately, it looked like she wasn't the only metahuman on the scene. A couple had already engaged the aliens, drawing their fire. That was perfect. She would focus on getting the people to safety and protecting them from any stragglers.

Untying the ribbon holding her hair, she rushed to the nearest pileup of cars. Someone was still trapped inside one of the vehicles, the door being pinned shut by another car that crashed into it. Yuri's hair formed into hands, effortlessly moving the car blocking the door and then prying open the door itself. The lady inside thanked her quickly and then ran for it.

She moved on to the next pileup but this time it wasn't so easy. Just as she managed to free another civilian, one of the small ships stopped close to where she was, dropping a few more of those armored aliens. Most of them when after the metahumans creating a scene, but a couple noticed her and started advancing in her direction.

"Run! I'll keep them busy."

The frightened man didn't need to be told. Just as he was escaping though, the alien pointed its weapon at him.

"No you don't!"

Yuri didn't have time to accurately judge the strength of the gun. She placed herself in the line of fire, forming a wall with her hair at least 2 ft thick. She was getting ready to reinforce it if it was not enough. The beam fired, penetrating rather deeply but the wall held. The amount of firepower amazed her. If she had only put up the usual shield, the laser would have blasted through. But there was no time to be relieved.

The aliens were momentarily stunned that their beam did not punch a hole in her wall. Taking advantage of the opening, the hair making up the wall immediately shifted into hands, grabbing the two aliens and flinging them off the bridge, hopefully into the sea. The aliens however had no intention of taking a dip. They fired up their jetpacks and charged their weapons, preparing to blast her again.

Metamorphi was sitting on a bench near the jump city bridge, he was deep in thought about some things, then realised he was hungry, he stood up and was about to walk over to get something to eat, but then a giant ship appeared in the air And I thought I was going to have nothing to do today! One of the smaller vessels hovered right above where Metamorphi was, letting out some brutes into the area, some of them flew off elsewhere but one flew right at Meta.

Metamorphi turned his body into paper and ran towards it, at the last moment he lept into the air and converted his body into the heaviest thing he could think of, crashing down on it and bringing it down to the ground, the impact would of killed a normal human but the Brute was able to get up pretty easily even with Metamorphi weighing it down Well this is going to be a problem

Kris ran at the aliens again, slashing harder, finally his sword slashed through their armor, killing two of them. "YEAH! WELCOME TO JUMP CITY! PROPERTY OF HIVE, MOTHERF-," he got cut off as an Elect blasted him with fire, Kris turned around, "Really? Really? I shrugged off your little lasers, you think fire's gonna hurt me?" Kris pulled out his pistol and shot the elect in the head, "Head shot." Kris laughed as he saw a girl about to get blasted to oblivion and mumbled, "I've got to be the nicest villain in existence." He ran in front of the blast, before shooting at the Braves' jet packs, he always had AP rounds so the weaker armor of the jet packs were compromised, sending them flying in a frenzy, he turned around and tipped his hat at the girl, "The name's Kristoff."

Bloodmoon had been walking through the woods just enjoying nature when all of a sudden several ships came out and bolted out the sun and almost blasted the city before being blasted down and landing in the woods. Growling Bloodmoon activated his cloak and began to make his way to the downed ship but came across the invaders sooner than expected as he came to the clearing where he saw a man get  torched by a alien before jumping into a near by river. Bloodmoon quickly got out his bow and arrows fired strait at the now laughing elite killing it as more of the heavy armored braves and several elites came flying down and started to fire at him using their lasers and and fire some ice.

Moving in and out of the range of the elite and avoiding the braves lasers returned fire at the elites as he doubted his arrows would make any damage on the braves that where now advancing into the woods as more came down. As Bloodmoon was about to fire another arrow when he was kicked form behind causing him to lose his bow and land in the clearing at the foot of a brave that thought it would be fun to smash him with its foot. Bloodmoon threw up his arms to block the foot while he wasn't smashed right away he would soon be as even with his enhanced strength he was struggling to keep from becoming a pancake and the brave knew it.

Well, at least now Dar was soaking wet. That should help prevent him getting set on fire again...right? He stood up, having already wasted too much time dwelling on his pain. The pain wasn't going to go away, and neither were these aliens if he didn't do something.

Dar saw Bloodmoon on the ground, on the verge of being crushed by a Brave's armored foot. Dar started to run forward when he felt something hit him. He looked around, but could see no enemy nearby. Strange. Had it just been his imagination? Suddenly, an alien Covert appeared right in front of him. Dar opened his eyes wide in surprise, and that was a very bad idea. The Covert threw a handful of sand in his eyes, momentarily blinding him. Dar rubbed at his eyes while swinging blindly at the Covert. He took a step and tripped thanks to the alien's well-placed leg. No matter how strong Dar was, he couldn't compete with gravity. He fell on his face.

The Covert jumped on top of Dar and started striking him on the back of the neck with his metalic weapons. They didn't do any real damage, but Dar was already angry. He stood up, throwing the Covert off his back. He could manage to see a blurry outline of the Covert, but before he could attack, a sudden beam of freezing cold energy struck him. The water all over Dar's body now worked against him, making him freeze even faster.

Dar clenched his teeth. There seemed to be no limit to what these aliens could do. He had clearly underestimated them. Out of the corner of his eye he could still see Bloodmoon. He threw his claymore at the Brave on top of him, knocking the alien to the ground. The Brave was still alive, but at least he wasn't trying to step on Bloodmoon's face. With that, Dar had little else to do but smile as his entire body was covered in ice. He was now unable to move, or even breathe. Where was a blast of fire when you needed one?

Tim flew up and into the flames holding his arms out devouring the magical flame quickly his wounds closing up. He turned over extending his spears again. "Kale your turn eat up." his magic was super destructive however as he approached he was shot at from the side by a beam of ice which he bent and avoided by inches.

Tim flew at the new opponent grabbing his sword and pulling it and the sheath. The sword was brought around into the Elites ribs. He missed the covert who slammed both fists down into his back though. The elite stood with a broken rib and started charging up a blast of fire. Tim however pulled his pistol and shot him in the chest putting a hole about a half inch around through his front and about 3 in the back. He turned it on the covert firing again just laying there for a moment stunned.

Yuri was just about to get ready to block the lasers when one of the people fighting suddenly ran in front of her taking the hits in her stead. He seemed to be unharmed by them. He then shot at the aliens' jet packs causing them to go out of control, flying away from the fight. He must have been using a special kind of gun or bullets. She knew firsthand that their armor was very tough. When she was attempting to toss the aliens earlier, she was also trying to crush them at the same time, testing the strength of their armor. She was applying about half her strength which would have been enough to crush a car, but the armor held strong.

"Not the time for niceties Kristoff but thanks for the assist. Glint, at your service."

Before she could say anything more, reinforcements had arrived, likely drawn to that spot by Kristoff. That wasn't good. Yuri wanted to secure an escape route for any civilians which was why she hoped the aliens would focus on the metahumans engaging them further ahead.

"I'd appreciate it if you could take the fighting elsewhere. Maybe where the other heroes are. There are still civilians trapped near this place."

Her hair picked up a nearby empty car and threw it at one of the incoming aliens, knocking it out of the sky.

"I can give you a boost." She said, gesturing to her hair which was now shaped like a large hand. If he hopped on, she would toss him in range of the aliens flying in.

Metamorphi ducked under a laser blast, that could of easily ripped through anything, anything? That gave Metamorphi an idea, he turned into paper and ran at the brave, dodging laser blast after laser blast until he was close enough to jump over the brave, grabbing it's arm with the canon while it was firing and pointing it at the brave itself, firing a hole through it's face. Metamorphi landed on the ground just as it did and gave himself a moment to congratulate himself before he noticed a beam of ice that barely missed him Holy crap!

An invasion really? Jrake just "happened" to be roaming around Jump City when it happened. A large ship descended from the air but it contained it's altitude. He watched in awe as it was shot down from the sky and landed not that far away. Multiple thoughts were scattering throughout his head as he rubbed his fingers on his temples. He barely had time to notice when some "brutes" had landed in his area. The others were targeting objects while one of them had their gaze on him. He watched it carefully, preparing himself for whatever might happen. I won't last with all of them coming on me, so I need to lure one away. , he thought to himself in his head as he slowly started to back up. He then went into a sprint, moving much faster due to his wolf-speed.

Jrake barely had time to spot Meta dodging a beam of ice that was fired to him. He skidded to a stop, looking behind him. He lost the brutes. They were no match for his speed. He approached Meatmorphi, asking in a calm voice, "What's going on?" He also looked around just to make sure nothing would be fired at him again. He narrowed his eyes down to slits. They were actually kind of like sitting ducks out there. "I think we should move. Fast. "

Dar was running out of oxygen, and his vision was starting to go blurry. All around him people were fighting for their lives, so he couldn't really blame them for not dropping everything to come save him.

Suddenly, a little girl with a red balloon appeared in front of his eyes. He hadn't even seen her approach. Perhaps he was starting to become delirious. Her lips did not move, but Dar heard her voice in his head. 'I sense rage inside you. Don't worry. You will not die this day, but you will owe me a favor.'

An Elect walked up to Dar and started defrosting him with a gentle bath of fire. The ice melted, and soon the flames started licking at Dar's skin. Dar jumped out of the fire and faced the Elect. It seemed that this alien was somehow under the control of the little girl, for now it started fighting against its own kind. Dar relaxed for a moment and picked up his claymore.

The little girl walked closer to Dar, even as enemies approached. She smiled and touched his hand. "There's somewhere else you need to be." With that, both Shivering Jemmy and Dar disappeared from the battlefield.
