Ultra Dangan Ronpa 2: Roleplay of Despair (Prologue)

Japans Hopes Peak Academy. It is a super-exclusive academy, officially recognized by the government, aspiring to gather and cultivate high school students excelling in their respective academic fields. General opinion is that graduating this school leads to certain success in life.


It is a school with several decades of history, legendary for sending its top students into leading roles in every professional field time after time. Its stated goal is to raise this nation's "hope" that will bear the country's future on their shoulders. Accordingly, some people call this remarkable place the "Academy of Hope".

To be accepted as a student, there are two qualifications:

"You must be currently enrolled at a high school"
"You must super-excel at your field of expertise"

This was you. Accepted to this school for being the top in your field, about to enter this prestigious establishment for the first time. You walk into the schools entrance hall. There's nobody else there.



























































When your vision returns to you, you are sitting at a desk in a room just like this, only it's empty... no one else there.

Tim groaned as he came to and quickly began to feel for the chain that held a heart locket upon feeling it he sighed and began to take in his surroundings he saw that he was in one of the schools classroom but no one else was there muttering to himself Tim stood up and began to make his way to the class room door to see if it was unlocked after all you shouldn't black out and wake up in a class room.

Cynthia blinked, a burning cigarette still in her mouth and looking quite dazed and confused, blinking a few more times before she took the cigarette from her mouth and stamping it under her converse shoe, she then adjusted her hat and stood up, walking around a little and trying to get her bearings.

Richard woke up, blinking in disbelief, he seemed to be in some kind of classroom, well done Richard, you'd make a great... the end of that thought was nothing but a blank where a memory should be, he blinked again and looked around, there appeared to be no-one else there Where... where am I?

Nobori woke up startled. There was loud crash as her chair fell backwards from her sudden movement.

"Owww..."

She rubbed the back of her head as she got back up. Not the best start to her first day at the school. Speaking of which, she paused to recall how she ended up falling asleep there in the first place. Try as she might, nothing came to mind. The last memory she had was walking past the school gates. The next thing she knew, she was falling, probably dreaming and then waking up rather painfully in that classroom.

She was thankful that there was no one else around to laugh at her blunder but still found it strange that the classroom was as empty as it was. Not being the type to just sit around waiting, she made her way to the door to venture outside.

Violet lifted her head and opened her eyes slowly, as if she had just woken up from an unexpected nap. But she didn't recall feeling tired at all this morning.

Peculiar.

She lifted an eyebrow and slowly took in her surroundings. A classroom. Not necessarily the place everyone wants to be when they wake up, but this was a school, right? Guess all the students are out in the halls. With that thought, she got up from the desk and started walking toward the classroom door.

The loudspeaker would crackle to life, and a scratchy high pitched voice would sound through the school.

"Attention students! Please make your way to the school gymnasium for the despairingly amazing opening to our new school year! You'll regret it if you don't." the voice said.

Cynthia jumped a little when she heard the voice before she pocketed a few pencils from the desks then opened the door and headed out into the hallway "someone is high on helium" she uttered as she began walking down the hallway in a random direction, looking around and assuming she'd come across a map or directions at some point.

Tim eyes narrowed as he heard the announcement and opened the door to the class room and stepped into the hall and looked around and noticed a girl step out of a different classroom and began to walk down the hall. Sighing he followed at a distance that way he wouldn't have to talk and would be able to observe one of his follow students. he figured after all he would find the gym at some point right?

Richard didn't like the sound of that last part of the words over the loudspeakers, so he decided to stand up and head for the gym. He arrived and waited patiently for whatever was going to happen to happen.

Despairingly amazing. Nobori honestly thought that was a peculiar description for a new school year opening. The announcement itself at least let her know where the other students might have gone. If anything, it confirmed she wasn't alone in the school. That would have been creepy if not a little exciting.

It was easy enough to find the gym but saw that there was only one other student who arrived there before she did. Normally she'd take this opportunity to say hello but decided to wait for others to show up.

Two girls would walk in. Looking rather disoriented.

The first had light pink dyed hair with a few natural blonde highlights showing through. She wore a standard uniform, but it had clearly been modified by hand.

The second was even stranger. She wore strange overalls, and kept her short black hair in a bun. She wore a tool belt around her waist. But something was missing... tools.

Tim walks into the gym after growing bored of following the girl he was following and noticed that the other students where there and mearly walked over to the nearest wall to lean against it observing the others and waited for the orientation to start so he could ask why he woke up in a class room instead of the infirmary after he passed out.

Violet wasn't really sure how despair and amazing went in the same sentence, but she was intrigued.

She took a deep breath and opened the door to the hallway outside. After waiting a few moments to judge where everyone else was going, Violet joined the current of who she assumed were students on the way to the gym of the school. Once she arrived, she stood sort of off to the side at the far side of the room.
