Powers:Perfect Block: Roark perfected a technique known as "Perfect Block," although it isn't perfect. Roark's sense of impending danger allows him to keep his guard up at all time. Whenever Roark is or isn't in combat, and sees an enemy closing in the distance, he can usually block the attack, given they don't change on him (i.e. An enemy dropping down on him with a blunt weapon he could block, but an enemy swinging down at him and then changing the direction of the swing would make him vulnerable). There is a 75% chance of him blocking the attack, unless in combat, then it drops to 40%. The guard can be easily broken by charging Roark, tackling him, or using a ranged attack.

Heightened speed and strength: Due to genetic alterations, Roark's speed and strength have been increased. He has speed comparable to a cheetah, while having the strength of Mammoth. He moves approximately 60 MPH at full speed and can lift 1.5 tons at max.

Martial Arts mastery: Roark trained for years with top marital artists and has mastered 3 different types of martial arts: tae-kwon-do, judo, and juijitsu. He is no better than top black-belts in their respective arts.


Skills: Acrobatics, hand-to-hand combat, keen sense of timing, highly intelligent.


Weaknesses: Ranged attacks, girls, flying enemies, recklessness.


Equipment: Metal glove. It appears as a wrist band on Roark's right arm. He can use it at will, but can only use it once per thread. When he activates it, the wristband opens and metal encases his hand. A hard enough hit to the central unit can cause it to close. It also senses heroes and villains that are nearby. It will glow a faint blue if they are good, and a faint red if they are evil. If actions are ambiguous (meaning the action could be good or bad depending on who looks at it), it won't glow. It senses them by their intentions, and also by their aura (if they are actively doing good or bad). It works for everyone, including civilians. (As a side not, if I do not view someone's character beforehand, I will not have it make a judgement until the make an action.)





Personality: Roark is a very outgoing indvidual. He loves conversation and large crowds. He's a social butterfly, and loves to meet new people. He's also very flirtatious. If he see's a girl, he's on the scene. He's always trying to impress the ladies, and willl stop at nothing to do so. He's very helpful toward his friends and will always offer a helping hand, a listening ear, or a shoulder to cry on.
In battle, Roark is completely different. He becomes protective, but very... feral. He always charges in recklessly. He acts with animal instincts, and becomes angry easily. He has to take down his targets. If he doesn't he keeps watch over the city heavily and leaves to find them at first sight.
When it comes to talking about his past, Roark is very quiet. No one knows about his past, and he wants to keep it that way. At night, he has nightmares about it and talks in his sleep. He hates every aspect of his childhood and just simply wants to forget it.

History: Roark was born into a normal family. Normal house, normal neighborhood. One night, he was abducted by several men, and he was taken to an asylum. From there on, an evil professor messed with the minds of over 6,000 children, altering them into war machines. Each child was genetically modified and ID'ed for future reference (Experiment #6271)Roark was subject to special experiments, as he was "[the professor's] top pupil." He was taught by top martial artists to fight. He learned at an accelerated rate. Something was off though, according to the professor. During sparring, Roark would wait for his opponent to stand back up after being knocked down, and thank them for their time and effort (Honorable FIghter). As the years passed, Roark's resentment fueled his fire to escape. He developed a metal guantlet that his inside of a wristband.
Roark decided to make his escape on a dark and stormy night. He waited until the storm blew the power out to take action. As soon as the power was out, the emergency lights flickered on, but would continuously flicker. He used the darkness to fight his way through the mass of guards trying to stop him. The more the crowded in to get him, the more that fell. He grew more and more angry at this, and fought like an animal (Beast King Fist). He made his way to the exit, but he couldn't get the console to open up the door for him. So, like every other fighter would, he punched a hole through it. He made his way through the forests that surrounded the asylum. Eventually, he made his way to Jump City, the city that was known for it's crime, as well as the crime-stopping heroes. He vowed that he would save this city, as well as avenge the families that lost their kids to that madman professor. Roark took on the codename of Atlas, and went on to help save Jump City.

Roark's feet took him as fast as they could... insanely fast. He made his way through the hallways of the asylum, listening to each cry for help. Everyone sounded so desparate, but he knew he couldn't stop. Stopping would mean getting captured and facing his ultimate fate-- death. Roark eventually was forced to stop for all of the wrong reasons. What seemed like an army of guards stood before him. He took a sharp breath and stared at the mass.

The mass, with stun rods in hand, took off toward Roark. As a reflex, Roark activated his wristband, which in turn, became his metal guantlet. He took of into the army of guards, swigning at the men. More guards kept filing in, but they couldn't keep up with the number Roark was knocking out. Roark became enraged, and began to hit harder and move faster. Eventually, after several hours of fighting, he was the last man standing, but barely at that. He made his way to the exit, but it wouldn't open. The console had been set to Security Level 5 due to his escape attempt. Angered by having failed, he hit the console. The console broke and the door opened. He took off into the jungle. After days of walking, he eventually stumbled upon Jump City. "This...," he said to himself. "This is where I find refuge. This is where my life begins." He began walking slowly toward the city, hoping to find help.

Walking the streets, Roark barely felt welcome. He had no identity here; no one knew he existed. Roark walked in time with the slow beats from his heart. He only wanted to find somewhere to belong. After all, he was an orphan. He wondered constantly how is real parents were, and if they were still searching for him. "I guess... I'll never know." he said with a slight sigh. He walked right past an alley, only to hear a blood-curdling scream for help. He look into the alley to find three grown men attacking a lady and her son. Without hesitation, Roark engaged the three men. "Hey! Over here!" He yelled out at the attackers. As they looked, Roark had already jumped into range and grabbed two of them by their faces. He slammed both men into the ground. Angrily, Roark spun around to face the third one; the biggest one at that.


The man then threw a full force punch at Roark. Roark smirked and grabbed the man's fist. "I don't think you understand you mistake," he said calmly. The man's eyes grew wide in terror; he was somehow immobilized by this tiny teenager. "You evil folks amaze me. You run around like you own the place, and when we show up, you're all offended. Well guess what? This is our town." Roark said as he dropped the man's fist and sent a punch straight in his direction. The man flew down the alley with great force before hitting the ground. He helped the woman and her child up as the police arrived.
