Dim Lights (Thr33, Angel, and one other)

It was a rainy day in Jump City. Not one person was outdoors. Except for one. He was driving his motorcycle through the streets, before stopping in front of a diner. Seeing the place, the guy remembered a memory. A strong one. It was months ago, maybe even somewhere close to a year. He had been hunted, even by some heroes of the city. And why? Because they were gullible enough to be tricked by an alien. An alien whom he happened to be related to...The alien had tried killing him, along with a few others of kind. He failed, of course, but it left him a nasty scar and a dark conscience. So, he just went into the diner, and ordered some lunch. He was the only one in the whole place...except for one man.

Wilhelmina was in the rain trying to hide from the rain. It has been a month since her first day here on city. She interacted with people with superpowers she learn later from a homeless man. The homeless man was able to help eat and a place to sleep up to this point where he disappear from her. Wilma, the nickname she was given by him saying her name was too long, was now on her own again. She learns to not bump into people, and now to look down while she walks.

She found a hoodie in the can of trashes and grabs it. She puts it on quickly to hide from the rain. The hood help a little, but she notice she was hungry. She looks to see lights that blink letters that she had yet to learn to read. Her language sounds the same, but doesn’t look the same when writing.

She smell the sweet stuff from the door as a guy opens to go in. Wilma heard her stomach growl, and it hurts. “I need food.” She said to herself. She walks inside hoping she will get something to eat.

'Just a hot tomato soup, please,' he said. It would be nice to have something warm on such a cold, cold day. There was a jingle of a bell as another person entered the diner.

The wind whistled beneath the large, shadowy wings which flapped in constant defiance to both gravity, and now the raging wind. "WHOA!", Angel shouted as he tucked his left wing and rolled in the air, the jagged bolt of lightning just narrowly missing the super teen, though leaving his wet hair in a slightly poofy mess. The rain was slowing him down... He hated flying in the rain, it was wet, it was miserable, and it was dreary. He had enough dreary in his life already. He wasn't the fastest of fliers to begin with, but now with the rain slowing him down, he was already going to miss the showing! He needed to get out of the air... He had just missed being hit by another bolt of lightning, but even his luck would run out eventually. He was getting tired too, the energy required to keep on track being much more than normal because of the storm. First left, then right, then left again! Angel weaved in and out of the massive bolts, the sky roaring in annoyance at his dodging. This was bad. 'Just a little farther! Come onnnn!', He thought desperately. *Krackow!* The lightning had come too fast, he had been turning and unable to react in time, and the massive bolt of plasma took out half of his left wing. "OhCrapOhCrapOhCrap! Come on!" He screamed as he flapped harder in an attempt to straighten his flight. He was falling fast. He couldn't repair the wing like this, he needed both time and energy, something he couldn't spare either of at the moment. With a resounding crash and shatter, he crashed though the window of what he knew to be a diner, his wing and a half still flapping. "Owww..."

Wilma walks in with her head down and hood still over her face. She shivers and sat at the table closes to the door. She sat with her knees to her face trying to warm up. It wouldn’t help anyway when someone crashes into the window.


Wilma jumps under the table as her reflex told her so. ‘Wow. What was that?’


“Owww…” Wilma saw tall guy with black wings on the ground with glass shatters everywhere.


She never seen a wing man before, and always thought the stories her brother told her were just fake.

Not till now anyway.


“Um… hey. Are you alright?” she asks from behind the table.

Angel slowly rose to his feet, the plummet having knocked the breath from him. He would have been severely injured had it not been for his other wing slowing his rapid descent.

The thought of his wings caused him to look at the broken one, shuddering as he did. More than half of the once majestic wing was gone, and what was left was severely tattered, it was no small wonder that he had made it here relatively unharmed. He shook, the tinkling of glass hitting the floor as he did, the crystalline fragments falling from his robes.

"Yeah... I'll be okay... Thanks." He said, as his wings seemingly melted away, absorbed into his back. It would take him several hours and much concentration to recover the damage that the lightning had done. He might even have to travel to the underworld with it messed up that badly. 1.21 jiggawatts was not good for one's wings.

He turned to the shop owner and bowed slightly, apologizing for the window and promising to have it fixed, before erecting a shadow-barrier over the broken window just thick enough to keep the rain out and telling him that it would last until the sun rose and banished it because of its low power.

He sat in a nearby chair, still winded and quite frankly, a little bit pained. 'I think I hurt my shoulder in that fall...' He thought.

"Yeah... I'll be okay... Thanks." The angel said to Wilma. He then made a trick that that made the wings melts to his back. Without his wings, he looks like a person here in city.


"Hey what's the big idea boy?!" A guy with gray and black hair yelled at angel.
“I am sorry…” says the angel. He then lifts his arm towards the now broken window making a black-shadowing ore covering the wall. ‘Whoa’. She came from behind a table and sat closer to the longer table to the cooking area.


“The shadow-barrier is thick enough to keep the rain away. But when the sun comes up it will vanish because of its low power.” Shadows? He must be a person with superpowers. Wilma thought. ‘Is he a titan?’
"Bah! A lot of good that'll do!" The guy shook his fist with anger and stomps to the back door. The angel sits down closer to the guy who came in before. Wilma stomach growl with hunger and she could have sworn everyone heard it. She holds her stomach hoping she get some of food she smells everywhere in the place.


Wilma, with her hood still up, puts her head on the table, trying to get past starvation. She looks around, trying to find the gray haired man, when she saw a yellow-orange hair guy talking to the guy.


“...Hello! My name's Scope and you are...?"

The guy turned to Scope. 'Blake. Vulcan Blake.' He quickly finished his soup, and went to place a tip on the counter for Buck. 'So, Scope the Titan, right? I've heard of you. Nice sharpshooting skills....' He looked at the guy who flew through the window. 'What's up with that guy, I wonder....'
