| The night had a comforting breeze that evening. The park was quiet at that late hour save for the few small animals in the area… the ones that were left. There were reports of animal attacks lately, though not quite enough to raise large flags. Not in Jump City anyway, where the criminals tended to have a taste for the more theatrical. They were attracted to the beacon near the city, The Tower. The base of operations for the main branch of the Teen Titans.
Part of Renegade hoped the dead animals would lead to the criminal he was looking for. He stalked through the park, realizing with a smile that it was the first time that the black wolf on his red leather jacket would be seen outside of his home town. Yet, there seemed to be no leads for him this evening. He passed by fairytale statues within the park, stopping to take a second look in the moonlight at a particularly strange statue before moving on.
He heard it before he saw it, the movement out of the corner of his eye. He wasn’t alone in the park and he doubted the fact that the newcomer was one of the small furry inhabitants. His right hand whipped under his coat, ready to grab a weapon if necessary.

| However not the main branch, JaK Sage, a Teen Titan none the less would emerge behind Renegade. His hands deep in his pockets as he stepped forward and observed the boy in front of him. He wasn't at all that impressed by appearances so far, but looks could be deceiving. As he went for a weapon Sage raised his hand to calm him down.
"Whoa buddy, I'm not gonna hurt you unless you try and hurt me first."
JaK would then pull his other hand from his pocket and flash his Titan's communicator.
"I'm just out for a midnight stroll around the neighborhood and then I happen to see some guy dressed in an odd get up. So before this gets ugly real fast, I'm gonna ask you who you are, what you're so paranoid about, and why you're obviously packing something under that coat? At the moment all this points to some suspicious stuff on your part." |

| With a sudden disturbance in this silent night, the telekinetic slowly began to wake from his quiet slumber in the bushes nearby. However, Jak's words were to influence the telekinetic's dreaming, playing out in a twisted, half-awake dream. The last sentence that ended JaK's message repeated in the telekinetic's skull.
At the moment all this points to some suspicious stuff on your part.
He felt like a cop was interrogating him in this dream. Did he kill someone? No. No... No but, I didn't do anything.
His eyes were now wide open in fear, as he laid on the ground with his side touching the grass. He was hugging his knees and though he seemed awake, the world still had not appeared to his mind. Tears were beginning to form in his eyes as his fear began to accumulate with the silence in his head, that of which matched the very same silence of pause before Renegade's response was given to JaK. And finally, before a response was actually made, an acorn fell on his head from the tree above the bushes, snapping him back to the real world while making a loud "bop" upon contact. His eyes slammed shut in the short pain, before re-opening to examine the area around him. Now paranoid, the telekinetic refused to move any other muscle other than his eyes, hoping to not be detected. He remained like a haunted statue, unmoving and silent, only letting the eyes rotate about. He quickly grew a strong feeling that something was going to go bad for him; that something terribly wrong was going to happen. If the two did not divert their attention and continued on a conversation, the gifted child would shrug off this feeling as he would decide to prop himself on all fours to peak through the bushes in an attempt to satisfy his curiosity. If instead the attention was focused onto his position and a somewhat "normal" conversation ceased to exist, he would remain still in a paranoid prayer that they would not be trying to find him as he felt that kind of situation would most likely unfold into an inevitable, violent outcome.

| Renegade relaxed, pulling a still empty hand from under his coat, “you’re a titan?” He’d expected to run into the Titans at some point, but he hadn’t been in the city long. He hadn’t heard of any of the Titans on the new roster, at this point he was wishing that he had asked Terra to come along. He stood square, his eyes still narrowed beneath his mask.
He heard a small noise, his eyes gave a sideways glance. There was someone else besides the young man in front of him. He glanced back at the young man to see if he had heard the sound or even thought anything of it.

| JaK noticed it too, his eyes darting back and forward from the bush to the boy. Then back to the bush and back to the boy again. The first time he was trying to see if it might be this guy's accomplice, but then after seeing the expression on his face, the second eye slants were to alert him that JaK too was aware of the sound and they should take it together. If he really meant Sage no harm, he would expect them to be in sync when they wen to uncover the figure. However, he would remain silent for now waiting for the strange boy to lead. He had already stated he was a titan so if this guy went first there was less chance of a betrayal, but if JaK turned his back he might as well be asking for the kid to stick a dagger in it. |

| After an awkward moment of silence, the child knew they were on to him. He knew that they would find him and due to his growing fear, he suspected they would attempt at tearing him apart like most other night dwellers. It has been a while since he ever used his abilities in an offensive way. But, for him, no knowledge is known about these heroes and they are just like any other suspicious person wandering during the night. Fear escalating and with the situation unfolding, the child couldn't help but let out the loudest scream he could possible give, while literally bolting up onto his feet with a purple glowing aura. During that very sudden burst of desperation, a wave of energy would be felt striking at Jak and Renegade. They would feel a force pushing them, and quickly sending them back with the strong sense that they just got struck by a speeding car. Whether they were ultimately phased by this, did not matter. The kid would begin taking a few steps back in preparation for a counter-attack, as his hands were now lifted up in front of him, glowing far more intensely than the rest of his body. It was obvious that he was deeply scared, as shown in his wide eyes, his now trembling legs, and the sudden act of desperation. | |

| Renegade took a step forward, but was unable to do much else. He threw up his arms to shield his face when he saw the purple aura. The telekinetic blast knocked him off his feet. It took a few moments for Renegade to roll to a crouched position, as he gasped for air. He looked over at Jak, and then at the small boy who had unleashed the blast. ~A kid?~ he thought in confusion. | |

| As the boy arose from the bush with panic and impusle written all over his face. JaK would find himself thrown back by sheer kinetic energy, the very force at which he was thrown with caused him to hit the side of a tree hard enough to make him grunt out after falling to the floor. Unlike Renegade who a seemingly had a much more graceful rebound.
"Wrong move kid, I don't like being sneak attacked."
JaK would then look up before touching the tree he had just slammed against, in a display of his own meta-human ability he would absorb the tree bark onto his entire body frame. From the heels of his shoes to the tips of his hair, the composition of his clothes and skin became one as he armored up. With his free hand he would then clench his his fist, the wooden knuckles crackling as he did so. Getting to neeled position as anger immersed his face. |

| His head turned to the direction of Renegade after the confused comment. Not sensing any form of attack from him, the child was about to put his hands down as the purple glow seemed to fade away. However, his hands shot back up at the sound of JaK, with the glow quickly coming back. With all his attention focused on JaK's display of power, the child couldn't help but have his legs collapse, leaving himself to fall on his own butt by sheer surprise. With only one hand up the kid began to crawl back, in fright of seeing bark forming around his opponent. After moving a few inches his arm would seemingly give out due to fear, causing himself to fall on his side. "O-other... Blessed p-people?!" Being so fearful, his speech was impaired with a stutter.
With JaK ready to charge away after completely absorbing the bark, a quick flash of memory would rush through the telekinetic's head. Some other voice spoke out in his mind, as reminiscent of something he was attempted to be taught long ago. You'll confront others also blessed with powers out of the ordinary. Others who will attempt to stop your goals. They will attack you, and you must end them before they end you. Although thoughts like these were only memories, improperly ingrained into the mind upon being "born", the words just happened gain some minor meaning with so much to be scared over. With the current goal as survival, the naive kid ended up partially taking the thought with a weak, but currently prevalent sense of truth. "T-they... He will k-kill me... Get away!" In a burst of energy, the glow around him would intensify. A spherical barrier would form around the position of JaK specifically, as if the child totally forgot about his other former attacker. Over time the transparent barrier began to shrink, with an obvious attempt to contain and crush JaK before he would "end" him. This must work... This must work... Please don't kill me... Please!

| Renegade's eyes widened as he watched Jak absorbed the consistancy of the tree's bark onto his own skin. Though he didn't have to time to be impressed when the boy reacted badly.
He growled through his teeth. Supers seemed to come out of the woodwork in Jump City. He was obliged to help Jak if he wanted to be able to operate in the city at all. "Sage, he's a kid, back off!" Renegade bit his lip, he hated this kind of thing. He kind of wished he had some of his teammates from Boston, they were better at the "caring and sharing" bit.
"What do you mean Blessed?" he hoped this would work.

| Ah, so the strange dude did know who JaK was after all. If he was keeping up with the Titans that meant he was no stranger just out for a stroll in the middle of the night. He was in the park for a reason, a purpose JaK Sage fully intended to find out once they or actually he dealt with this kid.
"Pfft, sorry bud but don't let the looks fool you. There's some 'kids' out there that wills strip the flesh from your----Hey, what the!"
Suddenly from all angles JaK became entrapped. This kid was using his psychic energy to encircle and squish Sage into nothing but mush or pile of guts. That was not going to be happening, there was no way in heck JaK was going to get killed by a brat that can levitate oranges. The grim reaper maybe one day, badass supervillain that can shoot death laser beams, ok. A crime boss with a leigion of warriors, sure. Kid that looks like he needs some counseling and maybe hug, NO F'n WAY!
"GRR, ok whoever you are. Maybe instead of asking him what kind of tongues he's speaking in, you can help me get out of here before I get ground into dust...UGH, just a suggestion."
JaK was pushing back against the kid's psychic barrier, using all his strength and willpower to keep it from crushing him. However, it was slowly but surely coming down around him closer and closer, centimeter by centimeter. Sweat was dripping down from JaK's brow as he pushed back, this was taking a lot of effort to hold back this kids power. Truth be told, JaK was going off pure willpower to keep himself from being crushed. An asset for any hero, but luckily for this Teen Titan he had loads of it in abundance that would not allow him to give in and fold in the rather tight situation, no pun intended. Although this didn't mean that he would not appreciate help at some point or not be grateful for it. |

| "The... T-the blessed?" The telekinetic said in response to Renegade, with a confused tone at first. It was as if the child totally forgot what he said during his retaliation to JaK, and what felt to be a long pause ensued. Over the course of time, the barrier began enclosing with no hint of response coming from the telekinetic. However, the child began to speak again and as soon as he did the barrier stopped enclosing, although the barrier itself did not weaken and it was still at a state which JaK would feel his movement slightly restricted. The child, still fearful in his speech, was forcing himself to let the following words come out. "They... T-they are t-those given power. T-they are... T-they want to h-hurt me. He wants to hurt me! T-they... T-they are bad! See, h-he wants to k-kill me! Get... G-get him away I don't w-want to die!!" With that struggling statement, the child suddenly got a burst of energy. With tears running down his eyes, he began to increase the strength and speed at which the barrier began crushing JaK in desperate attempt to counter-act his resistance and hopefully end his life quickly before he would kill him, or so he thought.
At this point, if JaK wasn't strong enough to resist or even break the barrier, it would actually begin cracking bones in his body as it further enclosed in what appeared to be just a small ball. "I... I'm s-sorry. I.. You're bad... I m-must." It was as if he was suddenly hesitant to go through with killing someone. Almost as if he sensed this to be the wrong thing to do, but he just felt the hostile intent and coupled with the nightly fear of death, this made him obviously desperate. "Why... W-why do you want to stop me? P-please go..." The kid said to Renegade. "H-he is bad.. I m-must do this. Or I'll die... H-He'll kill me." (( I feel as if this post is kind of... Lacking, but I didn't know what to do with it and was stuck. Sorry if that is the case ><; Guess I hit a minor crash here with this one ^^; ))

| The sphere seemed to be closing in on the Titan. Renegade needed to think of something and fast, keeping the kid talking obviously wasn’t going to work. The kid was obviously unstable; all they would need was a split… second…
Renegade reached stealthily into his coat behind his back with one hand. He felt it wrap around a cold cylinder. He pulled his hand out the situation playing in his mind, he hoped the shock would allow Jak time to get loose. He pressed the switch on the cylinder and threw it toward the boy.
“Sage, close your eyes!” he managed as he ducked behind a corner of his jacket. It was a flashbang grenade, he hoped that Jak caught on before it went off. Hopefully, that would buy them a few moments.

| With his mind focused on JaK, the telekinetic was totally caught of guard by the sound of metal hitting soil. In reaction to the sound, he would turn his face towards the flash-bang. The child's ears twitched for a slight second and before he could ask what the item was, the flash-bang triggered. With a sudden yelp, the energy that made the barrier dissipated away into the air, and the telekinetic lost all his glow.
The kid's body would now be rolling all over the ground in a pure instinctive reaction to the sudden pain that was shot through the eyes, and muffled screams would be heard past the left sleeve now covering his face. With so much pain and the child unable to see, his mind told him to run. In attempts to stand with his right hand pushing himself off the ground the kid kept toppling over in what seemed to be a failing attempt to stand up, much less escape.
