Just Another Day

'R-Really?'

Brianna was shocked, again, by Lance's kindness. She was sure the rest of his team couldn't be so nice. She hurried after him, wondering how she was going to explain her powers. It was a bit much to say she could control the weather; but it wasn't exactly heroic having to explain that the only control she had came from her dead friends.

Hey, that's a bit harsh.

We're getting better.

Perhaps the Titans could help develop the ability.

Brianna decided to just tell it like it was, and so she began to describe her power in more detail to Lance.

'Well, it's pretty simple. You already know I can talk to ghosts; I don't know how. Some of them have... abilities, I guess. Remember that storm, and that conveniently timed thunder bolt? Yeah, those were my friends. They can't control it very well, though. It kind of goes with their emotions. I guess they were worried about their pets, and me. And, like I said, ghosts probably have heaps of time to think, so they know stuff most people don't. I learned pretty much everything I know about fighting from them. Not that I'm a martial arts master, or anything... I can just hold my own in a fistfight, I guess.'

She took a deep breath. Brianna hadn't meant to talk that much, but it was nice to be able to talk about herself without feeling like she was a freak.

"You're powers sound interesting. You may not have full control now, but I'm sure everyone at the tower would be willing to help you out with that. I should warn you though that not everyone there can be the friendliest person. I'm sure you should be fine though."

Lance would first say in a warning type of tone as he was speaking from experience with all of his teammates. After that though it would turn more positive as he was sure that she would quickly be accepted into the tower. The two would continue to walk down the street as they would talk back and forth. The sun was still up and high in the sky. The two would come to a street corner and Lance would look both ways as they crossed. Midway through the crosswalk he would look over towards Brianna.

"So then since I know a bit about you already, how would you like to join me and my team? You know become a Teen Titan?"

'I was kind of expecting that...'

Brianna spoke drily, a little bit less at a loss once she'd heard that there would at least be someone to argue with. She wasn't used to being treated so kindly. With a shock, the girl realized she was already thinking as if she was on the team. She hadn't expected to be offered membership just like that, and she certainly hadn't thought about what she would say. Her instincts seemed to do the talking again, though, as Lance asked the question.

'If you'll have me.'

Brianna accepted with a bright smile, one of the first she had really meant in a while. It looked like life was about to become a whole lot more interesting.

"Great.. great. Well then since you are interested and everything, you're gonna have to meet me just outside of the city in about two hours. I have someone else that I have to find that will be joining us. If I see you there than I know you're serious about becoming a Titan."

Lance would say to Brianna as they continued to walk. He stopped and looked at her with semi serious look on his face. He would tell her what he has to say and then when he finished, he would disappear into the ground. He used his powers to tunnel under the pavement and closed of the hole that he had entered from. It would seem that in a matter of seconds Lance would be gone and Brianna was left standing alone to think if she will do what Lance said. Lance right now was off to find that other person that he mentioned.

Brianna's face went back to neutral again, the best to think on what Lance had said. Two hours. The teen headed back to her apartment, wondering who this other person was. She opened the door and slipped inside, locking it behind her, and fell back onto the couch.

Wow.

Lots to think about, huh?

Brianna was silent for a moment, considering the question, but her mind had been made up long ago.
