Ash Reconfiguration
- The user of this power has no physical form by the generic definition of such words. Their body is made of ash, giving them a cloud-like or powdery appearance when they are not materialized into a body. The main basis of their ability is how they are able to manipulate their form and reconfigure it to mimic the shape(s) of objects/beings/animals that they’ve seen. In essence, the user is a shapeshifter. When the user takes on the appearance of another individual their mimicry is near perfect to the original from which it is based. However, there is a wide window for error involved. If the user is basing their form off of a photograph they do not retain the knowledge of the original being’s voice in order to properly copy it. Likewise, if the user is unaware of scars, tattoos, injuries, or birthmarks for the impersonation they will not know to recreate it. Most importantly when manifesting their form to imitate another they will not be able to make a duplication of the ability the person originally possessed.
- For non-organic material, if the user has burned it and collected the ash from the substance they will be able to re-materialize it back into being. This goes with clothing, bones, wood, anything that can be converted to ash can be remade by the user's power at an opportune time. Substances that are susceptible to melting such as metal, glass, or plastic are outside of the user's ability to reconfigure.
- The user is able to manifest limbs or items while not fully materialized into a shapeshifted form, however, this leaves the exposed limb or body part they create vulnerable while they do so
- While in their ash form, the user can extend off the ground, floating around. They can control where they go, but cannot go faster than 15 mph. With that being said, she can hit someone with her ash with up to 500 pounds of force.

Physical Weaknesses

Core Amount:
The user is able to shapeshift into a variety forms, however, they have difficulty with shapes that require a smaller volume of material. There is a ‘core’ amount to the user’s power which makes the basis of their body. While this can be condensed down to accommodate smaller forms they will be unable to shrink themselves down past a certain point of compression. As such creatures such as rats, cats, infants, small objects and so on, are beyond the scope of the user’s ability.

Water and Wind:
The user of this ability has an extreme vulnerability to water due to the nature of their power. The ash base of their body becoming weighed down and muddy when moisture is introduced to their environment and person. This can result in them being unable to retain their shifted appearance, utilize aspects of their ash-form such as remaining a cloud or airborne and ultimately slow down their response time. While in a shapeshifted form they will be able to resist the liquid at first, but with the gradual introduction through heavy rain, or in worse cases submersion, the negative effects will begin and can result in damaging the user. Wind-based powers are very volatile for this user and when pieces of the core have split apart it inhibits their ability to reform into a more suitable body for combat.

Physically Human:
The user does have an advantage when it comes to physical strikes, but that is only when in their cloud-like true form. When they are in a physical body they are as vulnerable to injury as anyone else may be, they are after all human. When dematerialized into their core shape however they are still vulnerable to damage if their ‘core’ is disrupted and split apart.

1 hour limit:
If Nic is fully made of ash for longer than hour, there is no way for her to reform into her ‘core’ (or human) form. She dead.


Mental Weaknesses

Perfectionist:
At a young age, perfection was instilled in Nicolette. There’s no room for error for an heiress. Everything she does has to be perfect, which wears on her mentally. She will beat herself up if one strand of hair is out of place.

Fear of Failure:
By not being perfect, she is also terrified or failing. She has to fight extra hard to one day inherit the estate, so the thought of failure is unacceptable In any aspect. She would rather die than fail.

Pride:
With her family name, obscene amount of wealth and perfection engrained In her, Nic is prideful. Pride will be her downfall if she gives into it. She will defend her family name at any cost.

Emotions:
The more emotional she gets, the more out of control she gets . She can lose herself to it and die. Or she can become vulnerable and unaware of her environment.

This locket helps keep Nicolette calm and in control of her powers. The further she is from it, the harder it is to keep herself together. If she is a mile from it for longer than 24 hours, she will fall apart.

Nicolette comes from a long line of old money. Her family fortune is the number one priority in her life, and her mindset reflects that. Nicolette is the first born and a female, meaning that she has to fight to be perfect so that she may have a chance at becoming the head of the family. Everything she does, she uses precision and perfection. There is no room for error in her mind, which creates a lot of stress
for herself.
On top of this, she is very bougie. She will only wear expensive clothing, she will only be seen with people that meet her standards and she definitely will only be in establishments of “high class”. She wouldn’t ever embarrass her family by being caught at a dive bar.  Her main priorities are; Family first, continue the Dior name and only do something if you profit from it.

History
In a high class society, you have to dress a certain way, eat a certain way, act a certain way and most importantly, come from old money. There were thousands of rules and thousands of ways others may turn their nose up at you. It was a combination of a war zone and a circus, and no one was more prepared for it than Nicolette Anne-Marie Dior herself.

Born first to an heir of old money was an entire destiny planned for itself. Many people her age would learn how to take over their families oil dynasty, a fashion empire, and even more taboo things such as war.
Now on the outside, the Dior family has affairs within the renewable energy, retail properties and mining. Of course that brings in billions, but how the family really made their fortune is by providing the newest technology to whoever had the highest price. Both sides of the war, questionable people, anyone who had the coin, had their business and discretion.

This was a long lineage, preparing its next heir to eventually take over. The first born was Nicolette, who was lucky she was born in the 21st century. Being a female, the likelihood of her inheriting the family business was a lot lower, so that just means one thing. She had to be perfect. She was perfect in her studies. She was perfect in her sports. She was perfect in her socialite parties, never a hair out of place. She strived for perfection and power, this was something that only those were born for would understand.

With her hand maid at her side, Nicolette had made sure to dedicate her life to inheriting her business. However, what she wasn’t expecting to inherit was something much darker, something that they had yet to tell her. The family curse.
This curse causing her to fall apart like ash, to lose herself to the nothingness and lash out at anyone. Her perfection constantly being challenged.

When Nicolette had her first episode, her parents provided her the family locket. The only thing they said was

“Our wealth comes with a small price, once a generation.”

Her episodes got worse and worse, even with the protective locket always secured around her throat. Her perfection, years of training, all of it was slipping out of her fingers. It was affecting all aspects of her life, and just like any other heiress, she had two years until she was to debut on the dating market. That meant she had two years to get her shit together. Two years until people start whispering and asking questions.

Nicolette thought she would just be sent to one of her family’s many properties. But when she was called into her fathers office, he didn’t mention a family name. He said he was sending her to The States. Somewhere where she can continue practicing and studying, while also learning how to control her.... problem. Something she hasn’t heard before. HIVE.
