Powers

Cybernetically Enhanced Synthetic Body: Axle's consciousness is that of a human but was downloaded and stored and exists in a remote server. However it has also been downloaded and connected to the central processor (head) of this new android body. The physical parts of the body and power source behind it are created from a renewable proton energy source in his chest and Tritanium alloy physical structure. But perhaps the most useful feature of this new body is it's built in super sensory capabilities. Axl can see through all visual light spectrums, even theoretical ones (limitedly) and therefore could even detect ghosts or unfamiliar energy sources. He can also feel what is happening around him even if at a minute level, such as tiny temperature shifts and so on. He can zoom in on tiny/microscopic organisms and can take a mental photograph or recording of events he witnesses. He can detect vibrations and render mathematically the varying levels of different energy sources, readings, and power scales. However his detection is limited to a 30 foot radius unless it involves him using his scope feature which can see as far out as 18 miles.

His traditional senses work but not the same as a humans anymore. He can taste but he tastes all the ingredients separately. He can smell but he doesn't register if the smell is putrid, etc. He has senses but he doesn't actually experience things the same way a human being does. If he does it's just him remembering what the sensation was like before his rebirth and equating the experience to a similar past experience when he was a human being.


Repulsar Beams - Axle's main weapon is his ability to convert his self-renewing proton energy source into beams that can shoot from his body at varying rates of velocity and strength. The beams are capable of denting titanium at their highest output and if concentrated on a single point for over 12 seconds they can be utilized to melt steel. These beams can be fired from his palms, fingertips, eyes, mouth, chest, elbows, and feet. They can also be used for jet propulsion! Outside of combat he is able to fly at 350 mph through the air by propelling himself with proton jets from both his feet, palms, and elbows. This is not suitable for combat due to the amount of time it takes for him to achieve lift off. However, in combat he can propel himself in various directions by firing off the jets from his palms, feet, and elbows as if giving his 200 lbs body-frame an assisted leap or jump.

Axle can also release the energy projections in a variety of styles. For example, as stated before, he can use the energy source to create jet propulsion. He can also create pulse waves, flares, wide burst blasts, and adjust the intensity of his proton beams to simply stun or knock back the opponent without singing them, etc. Obviously, if protons are unable to effectively harm or effect the individual at all and/or the target is highly heat resistant then Axle will have no ability to effect them with his proton based attacks.


Electronic Interface - Axl's central processor is a near 10 million dollar investment which allows him to access and interact with all known technologies and even some foreign as long as he can physically access it. Thus he can hack, take control, and override systems and machines just by being in contact with them as long as they are not sentient and/or resists him. This is dangerous for Axle to do with sentient technologies however because then it is his own consciousness entangling with another being's consciousness and if they somehow are able to hurt, capture, or override him Axle could lose himself forever.


Bioenhanced Strength -  Due to him being machine he is able to lift without fail 12 tons over his head continuously without tiring. Obviously, if he has been damaged this can be reduced (as in if he's missing an arm or leg). If damaged this drops 1 to 2 tons or more, depending upon the injury. If trying to lift with a missing limb such as an arm or leg, the amount of tons is cut in half.

Invulnerability - Due to the sheer toughness of the Tritanium build Axle is capable of surviving 14 tons of impact to his body without needing repairs, however sufficient concentrated force to his joints and connective areas will make him buckle, bend, and falter like a normal human-being. Axle is a futuristic model and isn't put together by "parts" and is more of a state of the art synthesized blend of the alloy itself. He has to repair himself or explain it to someone how to do so in a safe space with many different top of the line tools and machinery. But this also means he is so well built that corrosive elements and telekinetic users will not be able to just tear/rip/him apart or dissolve his body very easily unless the methods utilized to do so were extreme.

Elemental Resistance - The alloy that comprises Axl is an experimental form of Titanium and is extremely temperature resistant and as such Axle cannot be instantly destroyed, dissolved or melted by heat/fire or be corroded by weathering effects unless they are of an extreme nature. Furthermore, if electric currents were used against him in short bursts the Android would more than likely use the electricity to power himself even more. Axle's elemental resistance is so high he is actually capable of walking through molten lava for a limited amount of time, but eventually will break down if he were to just stand within the magma. He can also break through solid ice if frozen completely without having his ligaments and joints negatively effected. However, he will still be frozen regardless if bombarded by sub-zero temperatures and made immobile briefly, especially if he is not moving when being attacked to begin with.

This is not to say he is immune to the effects of weathering entirely or that he himself can stand there unphased by the effects of extreme heat and cold temperatures. His body is capable of withstanding a certain amount of elemental and temperature based attacks but if he is continually bombarded he will reach a "threshold level" (This comes with a warning pop up in his eye-sight) where anything beyond will cause extreme damage to the body. In essence, prolonged or continued/constant exposure will cause Axl to reach his body's limit and then will cause intense and possibly irreversible damage.

Physical Weaknesses

Noisy - He is not good at stealth; his body makes cybernetic noises when moving and his proton beams make a charging sound when about to fire.

Magnetism - Any type of extremely high-powered magnetism that effects metal will have a definite effect T-19's physical structure.

EMP - While an EMP will not kill him or shut him down it will immobilize Axl briefly.

Synthetic Heart - To make Axle less reliant on on machinery entirely his body pumps energy through synthetic veins connected to an energy source that acts as a heart. This energy core if completely destroyed will destroy power flow network throughout Axle's body and render him useless. Although, he will survive mentally still.

Central Processor - Axle's head is a central processor that houses his memory. If it is destroyed, he will not be killed, however his memory will be rewinded back to the point of his original death. Once his head is restored, he will need about 5 minutes to redownload all of his experiences since the time of his rebirth back into his body. And thus he will be very confused of his surroundings and anyone he encounters until the download is complete.

Viruses - Any virus that is actually able to effect him acts as a common cold or a sickness for the android body. The ailments will also be the same (headache, fatigue, spasms/coughs, blurred vision, etc.) as his multi-million dollar central processor seeks to remove the virus other functions will be effected.

Server - Destroying the server housing Axle's base source-code/consciousness will end his existence.

Limits - As stated by the Teen Titans Cyborg before his limits are built in. If his body cannot go beyond a certain point or is incapable of something, he cannot get lucky one time, and somehow, surpass his limit. The result will always be the same if the situation proceeds the same way.


Mental Weaknesses

Axl will follow orders over doing what's right from time to time, which makes him easier to manipulate than most. People faking a voice over the radio of someone who is his superior will be able to convince him to go against his belief.

Being a Marine has made him rather too ok with killing the enemy as a solution, which can become a problem when trying to decide how to deal with a threat non-lethally. Therefore, he may lag a bit when firing a proton beam or throwing a punch because he has only had this mechanical body for a year and was trained to kill. To not throw lethal blows Axl must consciously and mathematically reduce the amount of force he is going to use by utilizing a probability equation, which can create a short lag.

Can be less lenient than most even if the situation calls for finesse over hard rules and stern words. In addition, he can be overbearing at times due to his nature of naturally wanting to complete the task at hand above all else. These hardened personality traits added to his outward appearance can make him hard to trust and be empathetic for strangers. Thus when a situation is delicate, such as talking down a suicidal individual, Axl's assistance would be less than optimal for these specific types of jobs.

Due to Axle being a human mentally in a study body, he has a hard time keeping everything in mind that he needs to beyond the scope of his mission. Furthermore, since he is not usually in mortal danger as much as humans are this can cause him to overlook dangerous conditions people he is trying to protect may be in. For example, if the room they are all in is too cold for humans to survive in Axle may not notice because his body is fine and he is not registered to be in any danger by his central processor. However, the victims next to him may be freezing to death.

Personality

John Barton kept most of his personality from before when he was human. Axl will usually greet people with good morning and goodbye always. He will give his seat to an older gentleman, will take his hat off indoors, pick up trash he sees laying on the ground, etc. He is just a very straight laced wholesome guy. He is a very good Marine/teammate; follows orders and executes them without making too many unnecessary changes or alterations. He generally believes in American values, and what the flag is supposed to stand for. If something isn't right, he seeks to fix it. He addresses older people or superiors with Sir or Ma'm.

Axl has dedicated his life to helping people and will readily risk his life to stop and/or take on any possible threat. Axle loves being a hero because he enjoys the security of doing the right thing. Unlike most mad scientists' creations he is grateful he was given a second chance at life. He doesn't want to upset his mother and does not wish to seek out his family or seek vengeance for his death. And although he is into following rules and chain of command, Axle is also not above bending the rules for the right reasons - preserving lives, society, and the greater good at all costs is his motto.

Axle doesn't do things for notoriety or fame, he does it because it's right. He's also an all American boy - very American. Not too cultured, but he's open-minded enough to try experiencing new things, as long as it doesn't break any laws.

History
John joined the Marine Corps just a few days after graduating High School. It was his family tradition. His father, Sargent Major Clay Barton, had been killed in the line of duty when he was 10 years old. His dad died in a domestic Meta-human conflict defending pedestrians from a superhuman. His older brother, 2nd Lieutenant Axel Barton was an officer already currently serving over seas.  John was determined to prove himself to his family legacy. A decorated war hero within the year, John Barton rose to the rank of sergeant quickly, and served in many domestic and foreign disputes straight out of boot camp. While being groomed to join special forces he volunteered to join a work study at Cadmus Industries.

While undergoing the study the lab had an experiment escape and John risked his life saving many people from the conflict, but in the end was killed valiantly during the struggle for his effort. Cadmus reported him as deceased but actually succeeded in keeping him alive long enough to download his consciousness in a radical new experiment they were undergoing. His consciousness was then stored into a new body. A robotic build that had been under going work for quite sometime. The project was labeled the "Axle project" after asking John's consciousness what he would like to be called after it was explained he had perished defending people from the Lab incident and he chose his brother's name, his hero, and his idol. He also chose his mother's first name for his family name to never forget her.

The project itself cost Cadmus over 18.6 million but in the end the results were spectacular. They had successfully created a cybernetic organism capable of achieving superhuman feats that rivaled even the Justice League's Cyborg. More research was required to improve Axle further but one day when Axle was connected to the internet for too long he found out his brother had been killed in action serving over seas. It was at that time that Axle decided he would no longer be a lab experiment but someone who protected the people again.

His escape from Cadmus was rather easy - as a former soldier/Marine John had never disobeyed Cadmus's orders before. Therefore, he was allowed access to many mainframes and databases. So he simply just bypassed all security protocols and left. Once on the streets he found some clothes in a dumpster and proceeded to head towards Steel City. Steel City was long known as a problem city in the United States, maybe even more so than Jump City. If he could do any good in this world, that is where he would start.
