| There was a long line outside one of the local, small businesses that sold classic video games, accessories and other related merchandise. The reason that there was such an ungodly line was because there was a new hit video game, ReZed 2: Mind Games. It was the sequel to a quirky top-down pixel "zombie survival" game that played around with different classic elements from other games in its' genre with an art style very similar to Vampire Piggy Hunter- possibly because the lead graphics designer worked on both projects. Vampire Piggy Hunter was sorely missing a sequel. Anyway, she was in line... much to her chagrin with everyone else- during the day. Why couldn't there ever be a night time only release? Why did it always have to be during the day when she was hating everything around her? Not only that, she had to be around... PEOPLE.
Now you might be wondering, given her vague reputation as a thief- why not just steal herself a copy? Well, she didn't know precisely WHEN the shipment was getting in, and didn't want to be caught out waiting for it where she wasn't supposed to be. She was also not going to just rob the place like some superpowered menace... not that her powers worked as well during the day. No, she had to bite the bullet and wait outside like everyone else wanting a copy- good thing she set aside some time in advance. Regardless of how she felt like shit, she was going to play this game all night. Finally after what felt like an eternity, she was INSIDE... but there was still a line even then. She popped the top off of her "Eye of Truth" thermos and took a sip of her Java Monster drink. It almost made this whole thing bareable... until there was some kind of disturbance at the door behind her. Someone wasn't waiting around like everyone else. That someone turned out to be what could only be described as a red headed Neckbeard... in a floaing chair of sorts.
"Outta my way you wretched mongoloids! I have an important purchase to pick up!" It was none other than an older and... larger looking Control Freak. Diana blinked and eyed the fancy chair... she could tell just at a glance that it was a very heavy duty piece of hardware and judging by how holographic displays appeared every so often, she was almost drooling if not for the fact this guy was cutting ahead to the front. "You! I'm here to pick up my copy of ReZed Two just so I can see how many game breaking bugs and poor game design I can find," Control Freak revealed that he was here for the same reason she was- but his reasoning actually... made her alittle mad.
Naturally the cashier shouldn't be doing that out of fairness, and Control Freak had been out of action for enough time to where not everyone was aware of what he was capable of. But that was what hecklers were for. "Yo! Lardass! Didn't you see the huge line- or did you miss it watching yer trashy anime on the way in?" Uh oh, he did it.
"ARE YOU INSINUATING THAT 'THE DAY SHE LOOKED AT ME' IS TRASH? THE NUANCES OF THE SCRIPT AND CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT GO TO WASTE ON AN UNEDUCATED, IGNORANT SCRUBLORD LIKE YOU!" Control Freak wasn't quite foaming at the mouth, but he was close- or atleast was close to having a heart attack.
"Aren't you too old to be watching cartoons man?" another heckler chimed in with a few unsure laughs. THAT was the straw that got lodged in the overzealous slurper of soda.
"ENOUGH! I don't have to stand for this-"
"Yer not standing as it is!" The First Heckler, more actual laughter. Then Control Freak pulled out an equally fancy looking remote control and pointed it at one of the televisions hooked up to one of the older game consols playing a time honored classic. The screen lit up and the video game characters within seemed to beam out into the real world. The game in question were from a Vampire Piggy Hunter competitor- which featured street punk sharks.
"It's chow time boys! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Control Freak laughed before coughing, the now summoned sprites popping their knuckles. The line immediately and understandably dispersed, as Control Freak continued to zap more television screens for more minions. This was just ANOTHER reason Diana never went outside...

| * She optimistic, not me. No quiero estar aquí. Woe is me, l'appel du vide. She still want me, c'est la vie*
Adrien’s earbuds blared that good shit as he stood in line, arms crossed against his chest as he waited, taking a step forward every hour or so, at least that’s how fast the line felt like it was moving. He wasn’t the impatient type like his sister but he despised lines, being smooshed in between two strangers. The worst part was when they tried to strike up conversation, fucking disgusting. Luckily with his earbuds in, people tended to avoid the small talk with him anyway, or maybe it was his obliviousness that they gave up trying to get his attention when they did try. He pulled out his phone and began shuffling through his music to try and pass the time, when suddenly a text shot up. “Hey grab me a copy too will ya! Don’t forget you owe me. P.s. it’s your turn to sweep and mop the arena! Kay bye!” His eyebrows sunk slightly into an annoyed grimace as he deleted his sister’s text. He glanced up and noticed he was finally in the doorway of the building, finally... Just as he took a step in, he felt a shove and push as someone tried to force their way in and past everyone. Da fuck... Who the hell...wait...no, ya, who the hell was he? And what was up with the fancy hovering wheel chair he stole from Star Trek movie set. As annoying as it was, Adrien didn’t really care he was cutting as much as the rest of the people waiting, it was just one person, and the faster they gave him the game, the faster they’d get the geezer out of the way. It looked like some people obviously wanted to make the situation worse by paying the big man baby attention, and of course this was going to double the wait time and Adrien was starting to question whether it was worth it. His curiosity was captured however when the rotund man pulled out...was that a tv remote? What was he going to- Adrien didn’t even get to finish his thought as anthropomorphic gang sharks came pouring out of the tv. Was he seriously going to fight...cartoons? Would his powers even work on them? But again why waste his time on them when they weren’t even the ones holding the control. Adrien would emit the low frequencies from his person, and anyone in its radius would begin feeling its effects of fear, and vertigo. He didn’t care if the animated-reanimated sharks couldn’t feel it, his target was Remote Freak.

| Diana had wisely but also stubbornly moved out of line as people started to either move back out through the front, or took the emergency exit. She slipped away into one of the rows of shelves. This wasn't good, she JUST wanted to get her game and be done with it. But then out of nowhere, she felt a familiar twinge of nausea and fear. But she was on the edge of Adrien's low frequency waves, just enough to feel something before she pulled back alittle more. It still freaked her out more than this situation as it was.
The sharks were as you can imagine with what they came from, unaffected. Control Freak however was not, and much like Diana felt a wave of fear, sweat and uneasy swaying. "Y-you! You're one of THEM aren't ya? G-get em! Make chum outta him!" Control Freak gagged, keeping from throwing up with one arm as he blindly started clicking with his remote, making... OTHER video game characters start hoping out of their media. Unfortunately, not all of them were as keen to help him as the punk sharks were- who were out of convenience really. Control Freak also started pushing some buttons on his chair, making a faint shimmer surround it. Seemed to mostly counteract the bad vibrations, but he needed a moment to catch his breath.
The Sharks left the other people alone, and focused their attention on Adrien, while the rest of the store descended into chaos as game characters fought each other, but a few stragglers were still left alone to do whatever they wanted. One such character seemed to be some kind of robot that could've come from any number of games- the fact she didn't have a name to it probably meant it was some over hyped, corporate shill job that suckered you in with "digital gambling." Diana ran away from it as it swung a beam sword at her, grabbing a handful of games- oh, so these were its games? Funny how that worked as she hurled one straight for its face- it was as affective as you think. Right, new plan- beat the nerd over the head.
That was when she noticed the one other person trying to do anything about this- must have been another meta. He could be useful, but first... Diana took her game cases and hurled them all at the shark men. If not for the adrenaline spike, her body would've been too sluggish to aim at anything. But she mostly hit her targets, doing little but pissing them off but also distracting some of them for a moment to give Adrien more of a chance...

| - Spoiler:
Cason had been having an easy day. Which, to him meant a boring day. Nothing had exploded. Nobody had died. These days were common, to be fair. He was used to them. He was on his skateboard with headphones in his ears, the music uncharacteristically melancholy for his usual tastes. "Why does my heart go on beating? Why do these eyes of mine cry?"Not that he'd been crying. He couldn't remember the last time he did. As he watched these sheeple though, lined up for whatever the next shit some million dollar company was shoving down their fucking throats he knew it was true. "Don't they know..? It's the end of the world... it ended when you said... goodbye~"That's when he pulled the headphones out. Just in time to hear screaming from the huge line. Some shit was clearly going on, and the boy put his foot on the back of the board to skid to a stop. He glared at the commotion, frowning. He grew up in this shithole and could easily recognize the Control Freak. Case respected the lard, to be honest. Everything he'd heard was that he was a man of opinions and thoughts. He wasn't one of those go with the flow fuckers. He was real. "Oi. You." He pointed at a random bystander, preparing to flee. "Stand there for a second."The human did, and Case swapped the human with the cartoon, throwing a knife forward to see if they even effected the creations.

| Adrien stopped his infrasound waves and instead faced the characters sent his way. He aimed his hands at the anthropomorphic aquatic beats and sent sound blasts at them, which no surprise to him were effective, who said that video killed the radio star, in this case it was the other way around. He sent them flying backwards, pinning a few against some shelves and others were having trouble pushing back. He tried to keep an eye on the big chub, and also glanced around the store for anything he could use at his advantage. Instead however he saw even more work cut out for him.....Jump city and there was no other hero in the vicinity...come on man, he just wanted to play video games. Noticing the girl that had been waiting in the same line but further up being attacked by a beam sword, Adrien dropped his hands, ending the blasts and sighed as he ran towards the robot. He jumped and placed his hands on each side of its mechanical head. He’d never tried his powers on machines before so whether it would work or not would be determined, but as soon as he sent the blasts, the robot’s eyes began sparking and did something short circuit? Huh...who knew. He then noticed games flying across the room, and realized it was the same person throwing them....Why wasn’t she trying to get out of there like the rest...how annoying. He ran towards her to put himself between her and the sharks and whatever funky cartoon decided to jump in. He stepped onto a checkout counter to gain some air then leapt off of it and rolled on the landing, halting in a kneeling position right in front of Diana. He lifted his hands again and shot more blasts to keep them at bay. “....I’ll try to get you towards the exit..” | |

| It was! The pixelated menace simply... broke down into sparkles and pixels that quickly faded like every MMO monster slain basically. Control Freak wasn't completely oblivious to what Case did, but didn't have to worry about that as the hapless person in harm's way was immediately chased by one of the anthromorphic punk sharks that didn't get get the bass dropped on them- popping into pixels one by one. THAT annoyed him. "Why is there always a freak with superpowers that can't mind their own business? Two can play battle of the bands ya tone-deaf disc jockey!" Control Freak taunted, aiming his remote at the wall mounted speakers that had been playing some kind of chill theme song from some game, and clicked it into life as some kind of... psuedo "venus fly trap." But it had one obvious characteristic...
Normally in situations like this, Diana would've called it quits and just bailed. But there were very few things that would compel her to stay- and she paid good money for the pre-order! Fortunately she wouldn't be suffering the consequences of her greed just yet, as one of the people in line started whipping out sound blasts. That was kind of cool- also did someone just appear out of thin air? Either she was seeing things, or there was someone else making life miserable for Lardlad. "I want my video game..." Diana said simply- or that remote, armed with more video game cases as the pixel punk sharks were having trouble getting any closer- a small evil looking... imp? Not so much, it darted off to the side and with a big stupid grin on it's- no wait, that's a Dracky from Dragon Quest. Either way, she had already thrown a precisely aimed case at it out of reflex, beaning it in the face and making it poof into pixels. That was when she noticed the stereo speakers come to life. "Move..." she more or less pushed Adrien out of the way as the closest speaker let out a shirll blast of sound at the spot they had been, finishing off some of the remaining Punk Sharks that without Adrien's sound waves, fell flat on their faces into it. She hadn't been fast enough to avoid one of her pant legs to kind of get torn up from one of the blasts- but that was better than being blasted.
Control Freak meanwhile now that he had caught his breath after Adrien's first attack, enjoyed the mayhem he had so rightfully unleashed onto these culuturally deficient peasants and it was only until the other speaker in the store noticed Case and prepared to fire a sound blast of its own at him!

| Case was pleased to see the beast he'd thrown the knife at felled with the knife he threw at it. If the bastards died, he'd happily kill them. He stepped forward, appearing a few feet ahead in time to catch the knife before it landed. He looked around with narrowed eyes. Two meta's seemed to want to fight the Control Freak here and now. Case was interested enough to stay...
but Control Freak was less than thrilled to let the boy be a bystander. Maybe because he gutted one of his animations. Did he take shit like that personally?
"Ah, fuck do I care?" Case grumbled as he ran forward, blinking with his teleports until he was safely away from the sound attack. He looked back at the fat man only long enough to trip forward, sliding across the ground with an embarrassing grunt until he settled at the goth chicks feet. Before he got up he narrowed his eyes at her legs. Yes, her pants had been torn by the creatures but what he noticed was the lacey black undergarments that had been exposed.
"Heh. Nice." He jumped up quickly, grabbing some random chunk of video game memorabilia that littered the store. He wasn't after any of this geek crap anyway. No, when he found the, uh... were these metroid socks? He had a different use planned for them.
"You two are just a crack team. Really. I believe in you. I'm just gonna take a little prize, then let you kick some butt here."
A few moments passed and the sock he'd found were now replaced with... Weaver's panties. Case gave a low chuckle.

| Adrien stumbled as he was shoved out of the way from being hit by something else’s sound blasts. Great now he was being attacked with similar powers as his own. He sat up and noticed another kid had joined the fray, with teleporting powers, but it didn’t look like he had any interest in helping. In fact it seemed he was just getting himself into trouble as he almost got hit with a sound blast himself and then.....tripped. Oof. Adrien squinted his eye, a bit in disbelief as the boy seemed to twirl something on his finger....was that..a pair of girl panties. What the heck was going on? | |

| What was going on indeed? Diana was still determined enough to just try and swipe a copy of the game before bailing- those sound blasts had kind of made a mess of the store so all she'd need to do was find one. But then some other guy begrudgingly joined the fray... and... Diana suddenly felt slightly chillier than a moment ago. But she SAW this new guy with her panties! It was a very rare sight to see her face form anything resembling an expression, and the tomato red in her face just said more than enough that she was embarrassed. But she was also... incredibly pissed off!
"Haha! So the other rat finally comes out to..." Control Freak prepared to make a wordy spiel involving something or other that had to do with stroking his own ego at their expense... until he saw what Case had. Were those- did he- were they... whatever he had been about to say was completely lost as he suddenly became quite flustered by the implications.
And then Diana pulled out her gun- the one she took off of some muggers the last time she was in Jump. It was an energy pistol with a charge setting, and she immediately took aim at Case. Part of the gun gave off a reddish glow of heat as it charged up, and gave Case more than enough heads up before Diana fired- and when he undoubtedly teleported away, the charged shot would go right for Control Freak who would be caught by surprise as the little shield he had made would pop. Control Freak would yelp with surprise and shock, only to dive out of his chair as Diana fired off more shots in his direction- Case would've pissed her off for stealing HER panties and all that... but what went through Control Freak's mind was just one thing too many.
A couple Sprites would see their unlikely master start dodging more masterfully than someone his build should be able to, trying not to get shot and moved to aid him... only to then get vaporized back into pixels as Diana emptied shots at the two speaker blasters before the pistol ran outta juice. "H-hey! You could've seriously-" Control Freak reared his head up over a downed shelf to complain, immediately getting pegged in the face by the now empty energy pistol. "Ahoow! My face..." Control Freak howled.

| There was an almost expected moment of silence and confusion after Case's bold play. Control Freak stepped up, about to start one of those super villain rants that they always seemed to have at the ready. Case put the panties in his pocket and made no effort to look like he was paying attention. Which worked out, as the overweight man was stunned to silence. Yeah, he was ready to leave now-
No, there was the gun he was expecting. The goth chick aimed it at him and he'd teleport backwards a few feet as the bullet was coming. He snickered when the bullet curved towards the underappreciated Control Freak. He nudged the boy who used the weird powers before.
"Oi, I think she might like me. Wanna bet I'll get her number? I'm gonna ask for the number."
He asked, but wasn't particularly hung up on the reply. Instead he watched the girl beat up the other bad guy. Throwing a gun in the mad lads face? That was rough.
"Ay, creepy goth mama, you wanna hook up after you finish with that guy?"
He was ready for the next murder attempt. The boy was good at bracing for those.

| Adrien continued to blast and pixelate the remaining video game caricatures, only half paying attention now to the goth chic and the dark haired kid with teleporting powers, his only goal now, grab the game and get out of here. He then however had to duck as he heard a gun fired off as Diana aimed laser shots at Case. Adrian didn’t know if she was a sharp shooter or if she was aiming wildly so he dived behind a shelf for cover. A few feet out, out in the open, a certain case caught his peripheral vision. When he heard the firing stop, he rushed to pick it up and lo and behold, just what he was looking for. He glanced up in time to see Control Freak get hammered in the face by an empty pistol and flinched at the sight. He straightened up but then felt nudging against his shoulder as the dark haired, red eyed kid addressed him. “...Good luck with that..” Adrien put his hands in his pockets and began heading towards the exit. | |

| It seemed like after her totally warranted attempt at manslaughter, the bass dropper blasting, and Control Freak being dechaired, much of the excitement had died down. He still had that remote though, and getting beat up was nothing new to him. It was time to cut her losses, even if she DID want that remote, she didn't want to deal with the hassle of being around HIM or this warping asshole that swiped her underwear. Seriously- what kinda creep does that while someone's STILL WEARING THEM? She glared at Case for a moment, wanting to look for her game somewhere in this mess when she had an idea. "I want that remote..." she said flatly. Probably wouldn't be too hard after he took a blow to the snozz, and it'd also get this guy out of her hair for a few seconds to go grab her game- whether or not he actually succeeded wasn't her problem.
Speaking of Lardlad loosely, he felt like his welcome had also been worn out- and he needed to go to the hospital. So holding his bloodied face, he'd try to sneak away while no one was paying him any mind.
