Teen Titans: The Other Video Game (AU)

Where... am I? Was the first thought floating through an endless black abyss. It was cold here. But where was here? His entire body felt like it was falling. No- scratch that. His body felt more like it was sinking. He could only see blackness all around him. He tried calling out but couldn't, causing panic to set in. It was a terrifying experience to be deprived of your senses and not be able to call out for help. Where were the others? Starfire, Cyborg, Raven, Beastboy- where were they?

Trying to remain calm, the boy wonder tries to retrace his steps. A splitting pain in his head impedes him, but he tries to press on through the pain. Try as he might, he can't remember what happened right before now. It wasn't a blur or even a fuzzy memory, it was simply not there in the first place. Whatever happened must have been incredibly sudden for him not to remember it.

"You have been chosen," a voice suddenly stated, startling Robin as he looked all around to see where the source was. "Do not be afraid," the voice continued to try reassuring him. A mysterious voice telling him not to worry in an endless black void did not create images of assurance in his mind. He tried to respond again, but couldn't get any words out. "You will not be alone. Others will accompany you on this journey," the voice said as if trying to answer him.

"The others are here too?" Robin thought, or atleast hoped. This brought back memories of The Master of Games when he abducted metahumans to play in his gladiator games. A light suddenly broke the darkness below him. The cold began to melt away as he drew closer to the blinding light. He also noticed that his "sinking" feeling was also fading. Gravity seemed to be picking up dangerously fast. Robin could make out a platform now as the light let up. Like a cat, Robin prepared for a quick and sudden landing when his descent suddenly slowed and he gently landed on his feet.

Robin could see more now. There was still an endless abyss all around him, so Robin turned his attention to the ground at his feet. In the center was a black circle surrounded by a yellow ring. In the center of that was a white T. And all around the center was different colored sections of stained glass with silhouetted figures splayed in parts of them. He noticed his image in one of the colored sections, plain as day and knew who the other images were. The questions were just adding up now. Where were they? Why were they here? And who brought them here? The silence was making him anxious.

Beast Boy thinks."OK...what's going on?" He felt like he was...sinking...through this inky void. OK...sinking....you sink in water and other liquids...so.....The Titan shifts into a shark form, trying to move, but no dice, so he shifts back.. Ok, this was weirding him out.Think, dude, think!! What happened before? He tries to think back, but a monkey armed with a icepick inside his head stops him.He begins to panic, but a voice speaks out." Don't worry....you'll be reunited soon...." "Huh?" A second later, he finds himself slamming into a floor., giving it a not so loving kiss.".........ow......" BB picks himself up, then grins, spotting Robin."DUDE!!! You're here also?!" With a wave, he walks up to the Boy Wonder.

In the seemingly endless dark abyss, Starfire opened her eyes, seeing nothing but darkness and the feeling that she was falling, she panicked for a few moments, suddenly trying to fly, but she was unable to, nomatter how many happy thoughts she tried to bring through the darkness, gravity just seemed to be working against her "do not be afraid" said a voice to which startled Starfire a little "who are you?! Where are my friends?! What have you done to them!" she demanded "you will be reunited with them soon" replied the voice, she seemed irritated "do not toy with me! Tell me the truth!" she called out, but soon felt the blinding light engulfing her and gravity starting to slow, as she prepared herself for impact with the ground she was a little curious to see herself float gently down, landing gracefully she looked around to see her friends. A big smile suddenly came over her face and she ran over to them and brought them together in a group hug "my friends! Thank goodness you are safe!" she said joyfully, she wouldn't notice if she was crushing any of them but if any of them made a groan or whimper she would quickly let go. But something then came into her mind "where is Cyborg?" she asked confused, assuming that he would have been with them.

Cyborg opened his eye and he was floating downwards, he tried to look around at his surroundings only to find himself unable to even turn his head. Based on what he could see from this angle, he was in a seemingly endless void Okay, this is starting to creep me out he said the word in his head, but he couldn't actually speak them. A voice spoke from the darkness out of nowhere, adding to the creepiness factor, it said things but Cyborg was too confused to pay attention Where am I!?! Where are my friends!?! again, his voice was only in his head.

Within the next few seconds, he saw a platform appear below, but he was falling faster, Cyborg prepared to position himself so that his legs would take all the impact and just absorb it, but then he started to slow down and wouldn't bother. As he landed, Starfire asked where he was Right here, star he looked around You guys know where we are?

Robin was still trying to make sense of his surroundings when he heard something- or someone, faceplant into the ground. It was Beastboy, or atleast it looked and sounded like Beastboy. He was abducted by some kind of magical or incredibly advanced being, so the concept that they could also make his friends was not unlikely. But that also assumed that whoever did this only grabbed him. It was just as likely that if they had more then enough power to get him, then logically they could have snagged the others too. "Yeah, but where is here?" Robin nodded.

Robin noticed that after Beastboy arrived, his section of the ground became revealed. This was soon followed by Raven. Any thoughts of Raven being able to tell them where they were had been put on hold by her question. "Don't know. I can't seem to remember the moment immediately before now no matter how hard I try. But with all of this-" Robin paused, referring to everything around them. "I can think of a few people who could pull something like this off, but something doesn't seem to fit here," Robin continued when Starfire's voice chimed in.

If this WAS all just a trick, they were spot on with Starfire. Robin coughed once and tapped her on the arm to signal that they needed air before he took a moment to catch his breath. Before he could reply, Cyborg was the last to finally join them. "This doesn't look like any where I've ever been," Robin replied to Cyborg as he walked over to the edge of the platform, not letting his guard down just incase this was indeed an elaborate trick as he looked over the edge. Just more blackness, but the platform seemed to be more like a massive pillar judging by the stained glass he could barely make out from up here. "Does anyone remember what was going on right before we ended up here?" Robin asked making his way back to the others.

BB shrugs."No idea dude, though it seems familiar...." Then Raven appears. He grins, waving." Hey!! You're here too!"At her question, he shakes his head." Not a clue!! But...its kinda cool....." As Robin answers, he wanders around, peering at the artwork beneath their feet. The titan really did feel this place was familiar....Then, he's suddenly grabbed and hugged by a overjoyed Tamaranean, and gurgles. When Robin gets her to let go, he drops, rubbing his neck, then grins at SF." Hey, Star!! Good to see you!" His voice gains a teasing edge." Right, Robin?" Then, Cyborg appears. BB grins, waving excitedly." DUUUUUDE!!!!" As his buddy and leader talk, the jokester examines the area some more, peering over the edge.".......DUDES, I KNOW WHERE WE ARE!!!!!!"

Starfire would suddenly release them when Robin gave her a signal to let go, flying over to Cyborg to give him a quick hug so he wouldn't feel left out, she then looked to her friends and realised where they were again, she would examine the stained glass of her friends and smile "it's so pretty" she said before she looked up and saw Robin going to the edge, feeling a little nervous as she feared he might slip or fall off. She then suddenly looked up to Beast Boy with a bright smile when he said that he knew where they were, standing up and hurrying over to him excitedly "where are we Beast Boy? Tell tell~" she said as she hopped excitedly in anticipation to his answer.

So Robin didn't know where they were, if Robin was clueless and no one else was speaking up then it must mean that no one knew anything. Robin asked if anyone could remember anything, Cyborg thought about it for a second but he couldn't come up with anything Nope, nothing it looked like no one else did either, so that was pointless. Beast Boy declared that he knew where they were, Cyborg walked over to him and looked down to see what he was looking at.

Nobody could remember anything. This was bad. They had next to nothing to go on besides what their senses could make out. Which so far was being stranded on an island in the middle of total darkness. The fact that their "portraits" lay at their feet clearly meant that whoever abducted them, had way too much time on their hands. So all in all, Robin came to the conclusion that a wizard did it. His attention was drawn to Beast Boy when he said that he knew where they were. He was only slightly doubtful, simply because Beast Boy had a habit of going overboard when stating his "theories." But he seemed to be completely sure of himself when saying it. None of them seemed to have any idea what was going on at any rate.

BB grins, preening slightly as everyone looks on him, stroking his chin confidently."We're..... On a pillar!! "The titan waits a moment, ,then grins."That is...one of the pillars in the beginning stages of Kingdom Hearts!" He randomly pulls out a chalkboard as glasses and a labcoat appear on him. The teen doodles on it,showing a portal." We could have been pulled through by a portal formed by masterful gaming skills..." here he shows a doodlehim racking up a high score,"Or we got hit by a digitizing beam fired off by a disgruntled character.." A ray gun fired by a scowling collection of pixels, "Or.....the worst thing yet....We're actually the cosmic playthings of a giant pimply teen game player outside reality!!! Awoolooloolooloolooloo!" BB holds a flashlight up under his chin, turning it on and off repeatedly.

Starfire listened intently to Beast Boy's explanation, seeming surprised and intrigued until the last bit which scared her a little "plaything?! We shall be nobody's playthings!" she said before listening to Raven and nodding "mm...perhaps Raven is right, although I would rather we stay together, we don't know what might happen here" she said before looking around "there also seems to not be many places to look, I do not wish to be a duck that is sitting" she said, seeming concerned at the situation that they were in.

Beast Boy suggested that they were trapped in the game Kingdom Hearts, Cyborg could see where he was coming from, what with the pillar with their faces as art on them and everything, but Cyborg still doubted it. Cyborg rolled his eye and listened to what Raven had to say, she suggested that they split up and search around, Cyborg nodded Sounds like a good idea, Raven Starfire then said that maybe they should stay together, which Cyborg wasn't as sure about If anything goes wrong we can send a distress signal with our communicators, It'll be fine, Star he turned to Robin What do you think?
