Vanishing

As I mentioned in The Discord, I was recently struck with some inspiration that has the creative juices flowing. And I'm sure it's become quite obvious to everyone that this place has... become inactive, to put it lightly. You could say that everyone on the site has just, Vanished in fact. See what I did there?

This is where my inspiration came from, the lack of life, activity, of posting, and people in general. I would love nothing more than this place to be able to get back on it's feet, and to become even semi-active again. But I am also willing to settle for one last event to atleast give it a better send off than everyone just disappearing off the face of the internet.

So- my idea is this: The Vanishing has returned. And this time, it hasn't just taken The Teen Titans and all of the world's heroes and villains. It's taken everything but a single, solitary tower. All that remains is the iconic, T-shaped tower, and a handful of survivors whose fate is undecided. For now.

You can guess where this is going. But I am aware that if "everyone" started to post/be active again, we wouldn't be here. So I am going to try to be more... involved and try to come up with some ways to hopefully get everyone interested in rping again. Something that was brought up awhile back that some people didn't see the point in doing anything for one reason or another. In essence, I will try to be more like a dnd Game Master if that helps at all.

So if enough people want to give this a shot, this is a to-do list I will be trying to stick to:
1. Making my own forum
2. Making my own character templates
3. Making it so the template means more from a mechanical stand point

Why make your own forum?

Excellent question random question asker! Since this will take place in a single location, it would probably be easier to not do that and stick with what we have. But remember points 2 and 3? We already have a character sheet here. But I've always felt like it needs to be... changed in one way or another. Plus as a mod, there are things here that I do not have access to. And I don't want to break anything here. So this is for the best in the long run.

Well, we were thinking of trying to implement a stat system for the forum for the world outside of Jump City. I am going to try to avoid boring you with copious numbers. But consider DnD backgrounds for a moment. If you've no idea what I'm talking about, let's just say that when you say you've gained your powers from a freak accident, that determine how easy/hard it is for your character to develop powers outside of that background.

Being "super" smart would for example, actually be used in order to create high-tech gizmos and whatchyacallits.


And I'll wrap this up with what I want you guys to think about if you're interested in rping some of the last remaining people left "alive":

1. Try to be active, if you have real life obligations that make being active an issue, then maybe this won't work for you.

2. I would prefer if you brought characters that have plenty of history with this forum, or has had as much interaction with other characters as possible. Doesn't matter if it's an alt, a revamp, or a reboot- as long as the character as a whole has history, it's fine.

3. If you want to just make a new character, they should have a strong desire to exist. A strong determination to put it another cheesy way.
--A: Also, think of it alittle like a dnd character in what function they'd be on a team, if possible. Remember when I said I would be trying to be involved more like a game master? Keep that in mind when you're trying to decide between bringing back a technomancer, or a thief sneaky like a fox.
