The First Step To Fixing What Is Broken [Titan Test](Tython)

”Robin Are you sure about this? I’m not completely sure if it's safe to have him around the others. He could be what causes this team to go down. After the last team I don’t want another one to-” Raven started unsure as she stood in front of the giant monitor by Robin who looked to her determined with a serious face but a reassuring one nonetheless. ”Not entirely, though he deserves a chance, and maybe if we bring him on the team we can help him get to a better point than he is now. After all if we could help you with your father I got a feeling we can help this kid too.”

He looked to the monitor with narrowed eyes at the footage of the boy using his powers and the creature he was with that attacked him. ”Besides… it looks like he may be in big trouble if we don’t help him.” Raven nodded with a short silent exhale and walked over to the middle of the room pulling out her old mirror and started to meditate levitating herself up and her mirror that started to glow along with her gem on her forehead.

While he slept the boy would find the area around him turn into the cemetery where slowly his biggest inner demon would form in front of him in physical form. Raven in the meantime would stand hidden off in the background behind him on a crypts roof watching him carefully ready to step in when he needed it wearing her white cloak with her hood up.

He had dreamt of obsidian plains and starless sky before it changed. Where he wondered endlessly across the black tundra with the only sounds being his own breathing. He was wearing something but he can't look down to see only forward towards nothingness. The soulless land rang an eery sense of familiarity to him as if he has walked these same plains before. But he does not ponder on it, instead Solgaleo is unfocused, not really attuned to what his dream self is doing. As he walks on he eventually comes across something embedded into the obsidian, the outline of a sword that seemed to have been thruster into the ground. Solgaleo tries to go up to it but no matter how much his feet moved the sword is fixated in the horizon, not showing any signs of getting closer. Beside the sword he sees an outline of a figure with its head low, "Yuia s'x su 'ananfta' ghhu xuia a'a. Bias xuia a'a nus guung shas, xuia a'a s'xung su ru'gas ghhu xuia a'a, ghhas xuia a'a, ghhas hallanag su xuia. Yuia a'a s'xung su ru'gas shan, ru' 'ananfta'ung ghuftft ft'ung ftathk sha laun agaun. Is sakat xuia u'a', ftftuthkt a'a'xshung aftta uias. Bftuthkt uias guug tsiarr. Bftuthkt uias ftura.”

It’s gloomy whispers did not reach Solgaleo as he stumbled, the ground gave away to dirt and dried leaves of autumn. Loud cracks were heard around him as 3-story tall tombstones rose through the obsidian everywhere he looked. The figure and the sword fading into the darkness. Towering behind him was a chapel the size of a small mountain. A red moon now hung in the starless sky, bathing the giant tombs in its naked red light. Solgaleo now animated and aware is now visibly shaking as he the tombstones seem to loom over him. Scrawled across the grey slabs were writings in languages that he cannot read. Solgaleo breath quicken as he felt rumbling in the distance, “I smell Godling blood” The malicious words while unhearable pour through his being like rotten honey. He turned just in time to witness an monstrous form come into view a football field away. It's form can't be deciphered, only appearing as an hulking bipedal black mask shrouded in crimson aura. “Don't you want to join them Godling?” Once again Solgaleo can't hear a thing the demon says, only muffled whispering. The demon gave an animalistic growl as it crouches down, Solgaleo gritted his teeth as he sees the demon preparing to charge. Heart pumping with adrenaline and fear his clenched fists starts to pulse and generate a build up of energy.

Raven watched the boy and his surroundings before looking to the source of the voice that spoke out to him… it was the demon who had attacked him… She would not step in just yet though. It looked like the kid was willing to fight. That was good. This form of the demon would be much weaker than the real deal so he may be able to defeat it on his own. If he couldn't though she was ready to step in to help him fight it's he knew that together they could easily destroy this creature in the dream world but this was a test to see if he could do this task on his own first not if they could defeat it together.

If he could manage to defeat it on his own maybe it could give him some hope about his future… and if he couldn't maybe her assisting him if he needed it could help him see that he now isn’t alone in this fight he called a life. But for now she would stand at the ready, watching and waiting for her time to move in. Before she knew it though the demon was racing a the boy ready to strike full force with its 2 front limbs, showing no mercy.

The beast charged forward, dirt being kicked up behind it as it rushes forward with an frenzy. While the lumbering beast was slow moving Solgaleo legs seem to be stuck, frozen in place by either fear or uncertainty of what to do. His eyes were wide as the demon reared on it’s back legs and lifted its arms above it. At the last second his legs finally register his brain commands and rolled to the left. The resulting shock wave from the slam caused him to over roll and end up on his back. Looking over as he pants he saw the dust clear away to reveal the demon turning it’s head, It’s gaping maw slightly open to show it’s rows upon rows of teeth.

The demon lunged at the fallen boy who only manage to get to his knees, cocking it’s left fist to swing at the frail boy. Solgaleo only manage to see a black mass slam into his side and felt a brief moment of zero gravity as he was sent flying through the air before landing harshly on ground several dozen yards away. He remained there as the world ringed around him, confused on what’s happening.

It was at that moment that he became lucid enough to know that he was dreaming and that moment he finally took in his surroundings, surroundings that actually feels more familiar than it should. Heaving he rolled over to push him off the ground onto his feet while clutching his right side that stung from the blow. Solgaleo turn his head towards the demon that for some odd reason, give him a sense of deja vu. It was as if he had fought this thing before and that fact confuses him.

The demon was now circling him from the distance, six of its red eyes were pinned on him as if he was a stray little lamb who went astray from the herd. Truth to be told Solgaleo was shaking and the demon relishes in it. “Be a good little Godling and die like the rest of your kind, my Master would be most pleased in having your head as a trophy.” While it spoke in the same garbled whisper Solgaleo manage to pick up what it was saying and it only confuses him more. What did it mean by race, did it mean humans? And who was this Master?

The young boy did not have time to take in what the demon was saying before it charged again with the same tactic in mind, this time the boy had some sort of barebone plan in the works to combat the demon, instead of rolling to the same side he rolled to the opposite direction and manage to do it early enough to avoid getting knocked by the shockwave. In an attempt to get distance he telekinetically leapt away about thirty yards from the demon. Still shaking from adrenaline he face the demon who quickly turned with a growl and charged again. This time Solgaleo was ready, extending his left arm with palm open outward and pictured imaginary chain links tightening around the demon joint and pinning it to the ground. The demon charged was grind to a halt as it struggled with the telekinetic force binding it down.

Solgaleo was starting to become dizzy, both from the adrenaline rush and the mental pressure of trying to hold the demon at bay. In his right hand that was currently clenched into a fist he began to charge and condense stellar energy. He rose his charging fist towards the demon but found him unable to fire. Hesitant in firing deadly force at another being, even if said being was malicious. The demon shattered the invisible chains with a roar as it rose to it’s rear legs like a bear.

When it stood back on it’s four legs it turned it’s head as if something caught his attention. A chill ran up Solgaleo spine as he follow the demon gaze to women a few dozen yards away. She was garbed in leather, red cloth, iron, and ornamental gold much like the Roman Legion’s wore, her feminized muscle cuirass was complete with layered pteruges. She stood there like a statue, so still that Solgaleo questions if she was even real. The demon deemed so as it turned and began charging towards the statue like Roman woman.

‘No, not again, never again!’

Something happened in Solgaleo, it was like someone switched a flip in his mind. He did not realize that his legs were already moving as they bended and pushed forward into a telekinetic leap. His trajectory took him above the demon head and with a yell brought down his right fist like a hammer, expelling all his pent up stellar energy on impact. The resulting blinding flash and explosion dazed him as he was blown backwards from the recoil. But his arms and legs were already moving, even if the ground seem to glow beneath him he stood up panting. Looking over he saw that the Roman women seem to have vanished, a gurgled growl brought him back to the main problem at hand. As his vision realign he saw that the demon had buckled, half of it’s head was caved in. Solgaleo look down to his right fist in surprising for himself. For the first time he charged in without concern for his well being, he never thought he can perform an act of self-sacrifice.

Given Solgaleo was deep in his thoughts he failed to see a familiar left fist slamming into him and sending him flying backward. Landing with the same amount ungrace he got to his feet faster than last time. Despite his body was trembling a spark finally ignited something inside of Solgaleo. Both of his fists began to thrum with energy and he looked forward the demon who itself was ready to brawl. “Come and get me!” Solgaleo taunted.

Hearing the words the demon spoke raven rose an eyebrow behind her hood but chose to just store the note about what it had to say in the back of her head for now and kept watching the fight carefully. It appeared after getting the first attacks on him the kid managed to take notes and change his own tactics. This was good he was learning already. Raven watched him create his chains and mentally rooted for him he was using his powers skillfully and constructively and he was able to actually make some head way on his fight with the creature.

She thought seeing his dizziness refocused and readied herself to jump in if needed. He stopped the attack he was going to make though… it would have defeated the demon… but would have killed it… The kid had great morals and knew when to hold blows… that was rare to see in teen heroes now and days. Seeing it break free and charge at the woman, this may turn out bad if she didn't step in soon but she wanted to see if the kid could do it himself. The woman vanished though but the kid was going to attack the demon anyways…

He was hit, hard though he was getting reckless which at this point meant it was time to step in, she had seen enough. But she would not destroy the demon for him… that was something he needed to be able to come to do on his own. She vanished with a raven and reformed in front of the kid as the demon charged. ”Azarath… Metrion…. Zinthos!” Black shadows flowed out from in front of her washing over the demon as the area around them turned back into the dream the kid was once in. She lowered her hand and looked to him then. ”You have great potential… You’ll beat it one day.”

She faced him holding up the communicator. ”We want to take you on as a full time titan that we want to help train… If you are willing to accept our offer I can come to you in the waking world now and bring you to the tower if not if you want i can give you this  communicator and if you need help or change your mind we can come to help you.” She explained in her calm monotoned voice.

Despite the adrenaline and the brief spark of his fighting spirit his body was becoming achy and difficult to move, for being in a dream he can feel the blows that has been felt onto him. As he stood with fists raise towards the crouching demon he knew in the back of his mind he reached his limit but he be damned if he falters again. For that it what he had been doing for the last two years when things got ugly. He dwelled in self-pity as he pondered of what if he manage to stand up to his darkness and saved the caretaker. Sadly he'll never have that chance of knowing. With that moment of indulging in his past he refocus his attention on the demon and continues to channel more stellar matter around his fists. However he started to breath deeper due to the adrenaline leaving his body and the demon remaining eyes took note of this and pounced. Solgaleo was unable to get his bearings in time and braced for the worst.

But black mass did not ram into him this time, no flying into the air and landing on the harsh ground. Solgaleo snapped out of his stupor to finally notice black shadows converging before him into the form of Raven from the Teen Titans. He was dumbstruck by her presence and was wondering if she was a part of the dream, but he shot that theory down as he nevered dream of her before. He watch as she performs her signature chant and unleashed a ethereal wave of darkness across the the dreamscape, sweeping away the screeching demon and the tombstones in a great black tsunami. Reducing the land back to the plains of obsidian. When she turned to Solgaleo and lowered her hood the boy became flustered in being in the presence of a renown hero. Even more so when she speaks of his potential, the stellar matter in his hands dissipated and simply paid full attention to Raven as she goes on to decree his worth in training to become a Titan. To Solgaleo thus all seemed like a dream which technically was, but considering the strangeness of his dream he can't brush it off as normal. But another jaded part of him mumbles back, of why the fabled Teen Titans of all people see worth in him who in turn only saw him as liable in ending up in the loony bin.

Yet the one that shines through in the deepest part of his scarred soul told him that this was no trick, that dreams are not just dreams. Solgaleo found his voice to speak back to the legendary hero of Jump City, “I-I would be honored to accept the o-offer b-be trained at the T-Titan Tower and be a Titan, Raven.” He stuttered awkwardly which made him embarrassed of being awkward in the presence of such a amazing hero, “I-I’ll be ready when I w-wake up,” Solgaleo continued his awkwardness and seem to have lost his prior bravado, while he is capable of getting to the Tower he wanted to see Raven come to him in person just to set aside his fear that this is all one big dream.

”That’s good to hear. I’ll see you when you awake, don’t feel like you need to rush enjoy your rest.” She said before she vanished. When he woke up he would see raven meditating beside him she having teleported there after leaving him. When she heard him moving she looked to him and held out the communicator to him then calmly. [color=purple]”What would you like us to call you from this point on?”asked simply. When he took the communicator and told her his name she would get up to her feet and offer a hand to him. [color=purple]”Let’s get you back to the tower then, there we can tell you the plans for you and your new team, and show you your room.”

Raven words linger as she vanish from the dreamscape. The monotone landscape turned dull and featureless, then it began lighter. The vision hung like a whisp of color as he felt his back laying against a brick wall. A cold breeze blew on his face in which rose him from his slumber quickly, Solgaleo could then see he was laying against some random building that he must have fallen asleep against when he was wondering around town ever since he was kicked out of the orphanage. With a stiff back the young boy stood up and saw Raven arriving via teleportation, something which Solgaleo still had a hard time believing that this was reality. He then noticed her slender arm extended out with an communicator held within her palm, timidly the boy meekly accepted it ,""C-Call me?" It was a simple question yet it was a question he was having difficulty comprehending it. Sure he has his fair share of pen names on blogs and forums but this was different, this was something that can define a person entire persona. Granted it's not like every Hero name has weight but he wanted to make this one more impactful, I...Su-upose my c-code name will be Omniarch," Solgaleo stuttered awkwardly, it was a name from his FanFiction on theological deities that came first to his mind so he went with it, his eyes widen at the prospect of being taken to the Tower to meet his team and having his very own room in the tower. "Uh O-okay, I'm ready to g-go."

Raven nodded when she was told his name and that he was ready to go. ”Alright then” She helped him to his feet then and teleported them to the tower where Robin waited for them with a warm smile. ”Welcome to the team, I’m Robin. Ready to hear the rules and see your room?” he asked walking up to him offering a hand to him to shake. If he was they would make their way down the hall towards the rooms. ”The first rule is pretty simple, always contact us if you feel like you and your team can not finish a mission without hurting themselves extremely badly, or if you and your team are in very bad danger."

"Though try to call your team for help first if you're on your own since you and your team are here to learn how to be a team and proper titans, which you can't really do if were hovering over your shoulders the whole time. "When they hit the bedrooms they stopped in a wing of what looked like unmarked rooms and opened the first door to show a rather bland room with a bed mirror closet and a dresser. ”I know it's not much now but we can set it up for you the way you like later since we know you're on board now.”[/color]

Upon the end of shifting darkness Solgaleo found himself on rocky ground and the air around him very humid. Looking up he could see the great glass and steel Titan tower looming far above him, sending shivers down his spine. Snapping back to attention he meekly followed Raven inside where Robin was standing there in all his glory. Solgaleo took a look around the inside of the tower, feeling like a mangy, frail dog inside an expensive mansion. Looking toward Robin who walked up to him he meekly return the handshake, "H-Hi Robin.", He spoke a bit nervously and began to follow Robin while listening to his every word like the gospel. When they come to a door at which Robin opened for Solgaleo he took a few steps in to take it all in. Taking in the fact that this is where he will be living, within the fabled hall of titans. The room was stark and bland which he liked a bit as it was somewhat symbolic to him, for the room was a clean slate. Solgaleo turned around to Robin and muster up a smile, "T-thank you for all of this Robin, it means a lot to be considered to have potential. I...I'll exceed your expectations."

There is an audible gasp as Starfire floated into the hall. "Oh joy!" She zooms over to hover in front of the boy. "You must be the first of the new team! It is nice to be having the meeting of you. I am Starfire!" She gives him one of her signiture, excitedly cheerful grin and thrusts out her hand for him to shake.

"I did not expect you to be showing so late." Star layed back in the air so she was laying down. "I am usually in the bed at this time. Were you not enjoying peaceful slumberings? I do hope you were not having trouble with your sleeping." She flew closer to the recruit to peer at him. "Do you have the dark marks under your eyes? I have been told that means you have not gotten sleep."

He nodded to him giving him a firm handshake smiling with his usual friendly and confident smile. Hearing the kids rebuttal he nodded to him and place a hand on his shoulder that was comforting like one friend to another would expected to be. ”I know you will Solgaleo.” He said in a way that felt like he was trying to give Sol his own confidence that he had over excess amounts of to help him feel more confident about the skills Robin felt like he had or could have.Raven spoke up then though.

”Here within the week or so plan on having your team full and ready to declare the team's new leader. We’ll be sure to let you know when that will be though a few days in advance so you can be ready.” she assured him as robin moved out from the doorway though before he could speak he saw or well felt the zoom of all the wind blow past him as starfire arrived in an excited manner. Fixing his hair a bit he smiled at the two letting starfire have her fun. Though Raven did speak up after a moment of letting starfire have her fun to give Sol a bit of a break from the questions.

”He just got here. We were just about to finish explaining everything and have him head to bed.” Robin though then hopped in rubbing the back of his head with a rather oops face. ”Come to think of it, it is late. Solgaleo if you want you could head to bed now and learn everything else in the morning.” He offered up on the off chance that Sol wanted to sleep a bit before continuing.

Several things happened at once. First shock came to Solgaleo as he witness a sudden reddish orange blur entering his field of vision. Second was the registration of awestruck as he realized what magnificent hero appeared before him, his eyes widening and mouth opening slightly. Lastly his cheeks became the hue of a tomato as he fully drink in the sight of said magnificent hero in the same room as he. News articles do not do her justice, he can clearly see why Robin is infatuated with the alien princess. Solgaleo could practically feel positive energy rolling off her like the morning sun, her warm ways manage to part a few rain clouds in his thoughts. Flustered the young teen meekly accepted the handshake, using his willpower to ignore how warm her hand is.

It was that moment he should learn how to keep his Hero Worship in check considering he will most likely be meeting more famous Heros in the future, he would collapse into a nervous wreck if he met Superman. “U-uh...I-It's...uh...g-g-good to m-meet you too S-Starfire. I uh...heard a-a lot of about you from the uh...news...y-you're v-very popular.” Solgaleo said awkwardly as he seemingly more aware of Robin presence and did not want to look weirder than he already was. He became fidgety when Starfire showed concern and hovered closer into his personal space, earning a few squeaking noises from the young teen who is clueless of how to handle a idol he admires be so close to him that he could feel her heat. By the stars how could something so adorable exists, Solgaleo would most likely die from diabetes from continued exposure. “I-i Uh..I...uh..I’m o-okay” Solgaleo managed to blurt out.

His eyes were averted when he heard Robin started to talk, while Robin still made him weak in the knees he considered him to be the safest to focus on as he will melt into a puddle of happy thoughts if he kept looking at Starfire. “U-uh thank you,” Solgaleo said in the same shy full manner. His head perks up when he heard Raven started speaking and listened to what she said. Than back to Robin who offered a chance to sleep which was a golden opportunity for Solgaleo as this has been a eventful night and everything was happening so fast. The whole world seem like it was spinning around him and having three of his idols in the same room does not help, “I-I would appreciate that, it was a big night...I need to sleep on this.”

Starfire let out a giggle at his stammering, tilting her head slightly. She was not sure why the boy would break his words up like that but she found it amusing. She grinned as the boy Robin called Solgaleo spoke of her being on the news. The boy seemed... nervous by her being so close, so she backed off to grin at him from back by robin.

She allowed her teamates to speak and watched the boy curiously as she listened. When he mentioned he needed some sleep she grinned again. "Yes, that would be the smart idea." While she wsn't sure the night had been "big" she could agree it had been eventful. "You must be immensely tired." She then turned her attention back to Robin and Raven. "Well, friends? What may I do to be of the help?" She says as she beams at them.

Robin chuckled hearing and seeing how nervous sol was. He almost forgot what it was like to be the new kid on the block surrounded by big time heroes. Hearing that he wanted to take this chance to head to bed Robin gently grabbed his shoulder giving it a supportive squeeze before nodding. ”Alright then, we'll leave you to it. Sleep well and welcome to the team” He said with a nod and a confident smile. Robin then looked to starfire as she spoke and chuckled softly with a smirk.

”Well it's late so for now I’d say we should all grab some shut eye then get together in the morning to get things ready for the other future titans.” He said simply and smiled to sol. ”Don't be afraid to call if you need any of us okay?” if he was okay with it Robin would head out as Raven looked to sol and nodded softly to tell him he was alright to her before flying off to her room.
