The Tech and the Magi Lands (Private AU thread/moon)

The Magi lands. only half to a world full of make shift devices that some may cann steam punk styled. The Magi lands were born with people who are able to use magic. This was a very help in progressing their way of life though sadly it stunted their tech growth due to their main focus of training and learning magic.

On the other half of the world are those who can not use magic thus allowing them to progress much further in their technology capablities. In the Magi lands there are 4 walls to separate the 4 basic domains of magic. Each person born in each domain are born able to use that one form of magic.

They are able to learn more but it is forbiden to pratice any domain of magic outside of its designated domain area. This is to kep domains in some fashion 'pure'. The Domains are ranked from 1 to 4 the most outer being the lowest rank and the most inner the higher.

The most inner is also the biggest territory holding domain thtat is so big it has 4 sections in it. The most inner is elemental with the sections of water fire earth and air. the 2nd ranked domain, the second bigest and first ring off the enclosed circle of the first domain, is Nature/animal.

The domain after that is Mind/Body, and the last is trickery. each rings length gets bigger while they also get thinner thus keeping them smaller than the rank above them. Of course though many do not approve of this so as far back as storys and books can tell us there is always at least one cilvil war going on betwen domains.

This makes the wals very dangerous. currently though there are wars raging with the 1st 2nd and 3rd ranked domain against one and other making the most outer wals the least dangerous. Inside the magi lands that rarely ever get outside visitors is the rarity oof finding parts of the lands having Technology.

These areas are found to be the most richest part of each domain but also the least powerful in magic. There is one thing to this tech though that explains why so little visit. This tech requires the user to be able to use a certain form of magic inorder to power and use the technology.

The secret behind htis is lost to outsiders due to their lack of knowledge of magic but now we come to view a train on its way to the most outer circle ful of outsiders to be welcomed into the magi lands to be the first ones in 100s of years to be escorted tinto these small areas of the domains to learn about the technology.

The train will soon arrive to meet a member of the outer circle to be escorted around.

Eric finally had opened time to be apart of the first few in a hundred years to view the outside magic ring. It was an honor to be apart of that, even better, it was a learning opportunity. Eric was always looking for ways to improve his own technology and out do his rivals around him. 'Rivals' if you'd call them that, they were mostly his neighbors that also preferred to make their own technology. In all honesty, Eric was just very competitive.

Eric was the lat person to show up to wait for the train. All of these people sported some kind of weapon very blatantly, almost like they were going for an intimidation factor. Eric himself understood that if you want to make friends, you shouldn't have a giant shotgun strapped to your back. He liked his weapons small and discrete, but they always came with a boom.
After a few moments waiting, the near sound of the train whistle blowing could be heard in the distance. People began to murmur and whisper, obviously excited for what awaited.

The area they sa w looked like how thier areas did hundres of years ago but still even less high tech. it looked like though this was the only city for 100s of miles and it wasnt too big. Though off in the distance they could see people using magic to make tinker toys looks like they were sudenly 50 or so feet tall.

in other parts people walked around with what looked like 2 of themselves carrying crates of food around. They placed the crates down and all morphed back into 3 people casually. Though everyone seemed to only have tech that they couldn't wear on their body clearly not that advanced yet.

In comparison to their land and the magi land they were near primitive but they did have some large machinesthat were almost alien in fashion tothem they looks so diffrent ot their even old tech. ThoughEric would see one woman about his age with very very long hair that reach to her lower back with it even being in a high pony tail.

She was talking to some people though something odd about her was that she unlike the others had tech in the form of gloves. It was really bulky and looked like dumble what her hand and arm should be in side. Ot covered her entire forearm on both arms. She clearly would know more about tech then most in the city and Eric so far was the only one to se her since everyone else was watching the random magics going on.

Eric begun to look around and take everything in. There were definitely a lot of tinkering going around here, even if it was a few hundred years behind, but the most important thing was the people. The way they looked, acted, and dressed. The people around Eric obviously didn't seem to get that for they ooh'd and aah'd as the little magic show went on.
Don't get him wrong, Eric loved magic, but there was a time and a place.

As he was scanning the crowd and observing people, his eyes landed on one girl. Her dark hair was pulled up high into a ponytail, and it still was really long. She was talking to some other people, looking very interested in what they had to say, the biggest thing that caught his eye however, was her arms. They were covered in one giant contraption that was way before their time.

With the way the Magi Land was set up, you were more poor the farther you got out, so she must have made this all by herself and had to find the spare parts to do so. It must also be a magic powered item which made it that much cooler. He didn't want to approach her just yet, but he slowly made his way in her direction, not wanting to give off any pedophile vibes.

The lot of them were quickly mobed by the natives who were very fasinated with their tech. They didnt even know what the weapons were or well very few did but thought theywere so interesting they were far from intimidate. A for the girl she seemed prety short but clearly legal.

She looked to where someone she was talking to was pointing to to look at eric and she gasped running up to him. Befo4e he even could say a world she was touching his face where her had tech n it gasping. "No way how is it so compact and tiny?! How do you power it with out magic!? how do you-" the girl was cut off by the crowd around them following the group eric come with and she backed off him. "Sorry you probably wanna follow the others to the town center for the big thank you and welcome speech the leader of the city wrote up." She said with an embaressed smile.

As soon as he made eye contact with the girl, she came running over with the rest. She quickly went to all of his tech and asked tons of questions. "Whoa whoa, at least take me to dinner first." He said jokingly while she was probing his tech. Soon after, the crowd began to go towards the center of the city with the rest of the people, apparently for some speech. "I loved to be welcomed." He said sarcastically, winking at the girl and moving along slowly, signaling for her to follow. "You're fine, all of my gadgets are powered by steam." He explained, moving towards the crowd.

After a little bit,Eric was followed by some other people, prodding at all of his smaller gadgets, something that he got used to very fast. He was simply waiting for some kind of speech, hoping that it would be short and simple so that they could get to seeing the tech, he'd like to see magic up close and personal.

The girl chuckled "dont worryit wont be that bad." she said with a smile as she followed him. A very old man walks onto a large stage and holds up his hand that started to glow purple. He then swung his hand down and seemed to grow as big as a giant filling the large stage. "welcome one and all to the Magi land!"

" This is the Trickery Doman, all magics praticed here are of the tickery magic domain none others are allowed here. Now most spells used here is to trick ones mind for as you can see I seem to be much bigger than I truely am. Many people here also like to change their gender to trick others for a good laugh"

He points at a ver atrative looking with a great figure blonde oman near by Eric. "Yes Nathan I'm talking to you. Though it tricks others we do allow all of this. Our main rules here are, do nother brutally hurt or maim others without a justified reason, do not kill, do not steal, and do notuse any other domain of magic other than trickery while in this domain."

" Now as for our technology ours is most like yours and deals the least amount with our magics but as you go furhter and further into each domain towards the center domain youll notice that the technology starts using more and more of magic to use them. This is all I have to say for now other than, Beware of the next domain and onward fore they are al at war with one and other.

" our wall is peaceful for we are not fighting but other walls wont be as peaceful. Other than that have fun and at the end of every month we will provide a ride back to your home land." The old mans seemed to blow away in the wind leaving himself at his normal size to wonder off the stange. The girl with the bulky glovess.iled in an amazed fashion where the old man had been. "wow... Trickery domain magic sure is cool."

Eric finally stopped within the crowd, waiting for the mayor to show up. He walked on stage and made himself way bigger than it looked like that stage could support. Eric watched in awe, and looked to see how the others reacted, all of there mouths were hung open, looking rather un professional. All Eric really wanted to know how he did it, but apparently, magic was the answer.
He explained how all of the systems worked now and how everyone's magic worked in the area. The whole area they were in was trickery magic that wasn't as bad as it sounds. It makes everyone seem like a practical joker.

On the other hand, he warned us about the other sections and how there were civil wars going, sounds about right. Where Eric was from, everyone was too damn brainwashed about the president to even think about over throwing him, Eric on the other hand, couldn't care less.
Finally, the Mayor pointed out a very pretty lady next to him, calling him out to be a guy, Eric chuckled then looked down at the girl with giant gauntlets, was she.... well.... a she?

"Two quick questions, you are a chick, right? Also, don't you have your own trickery magic? Why do you seem so surprised by it all?" Eric asked while crowd dispersed. The others in his group stuck in small groups of twos and threes, having there own personal guide from this land. He simply shrugged, those people weren't even on his level of tech yet, why bother? Now, he gets to have a cute girl all to himself, what could go wrong?!

The girl chuckled and odded looking up to him. "Yes I am very much a girl, and no I'm visiting from the 2nd rank domain to well see all of you. since my domain and this domain arent at war i thought it would be fun to hurry over here just to meet you all and your cool compacted advanced gagets, I was also dying to know how you ran yours without magics but yours run just like the elemental domain, water sections do."

she smiled and started walking gesturing for him to follow her now acting as his guide. "Like the mayor said the trickery domain doesnt really add magic to their tech but basically everyone else does. take me for example" she showed him the gauntlent thats fingers were too flat for fingers to fit in but still moves fluently like there were fingers in them.

"these babies are run off my energy magic meanign all who cant use magic to syphin their energy from their body and blend it into pure physical engery that can exist within these guys cant even move the fingers of them let alone do all the other things they can do." the gauntlents had circets that glowed a faint light blue color. "though only about 50 or so of us body and mind magic users can do what I can do so many wont have gagets powered like mine."

Eric looked at her gauntlets and switched his eye piece to go back to normal in stead of zooming. He observed how she constructed her life force and followed her as she instructed to do so. It seemed like the other domains use similar techniques as the tech land, using water of some sort. Recently however, people were using thunder storms to power things like the lightning and wind, it isn't a very reliable source however.
She also assured that she was female, so that was somewhat of a relief.

"I'll have to check out your domain some time then, after I get an up close inspection of some more tech around here." He explained to her, looking around a bit more. He also thought about sneaking in some other domains to see what their tech was like, he did have a whole month. That was a great amount of time to explore.
"Most of our tech runs on steam, but there have been some other forms as well that aren't as reliable." He explained to her, tapping his guns. "This thing around my eye is basically a magnifying glass which I can change how far I can see." Eric told the girl, switching the different levels of magnifying. "It's simply a few small gears and pieces of glass, nothing fancy."

"Well if you're looking for tech here I'll show you al the best places! Oh and before you go wondering around to the 1, 2 wall you should get some supplies since its a 4 day walk 6 if you get lost in the swamps before you can start to see the wall from a distance." she walked up to a food stand and got two long sticks of random assorted meats giving the lady who ran the stand 3 pices of what looked like blue tinted metal which would clue him into knowing that they had their own form of currency here. She handed him a stick and nodded.

"So like a telescope but some how smaller." she put it simply before leading him down the road kids running by chasing each other swinging what looked like massive swords at each other. One swung it and it instead of cutting into Erics legs ran right through them like the sword was a holo graph. The kid who seung trying to get his freind as he kept running.

Eric thought this over. Back at home he had a hover bike that was meant to travel in desert, he was sure he could build one that could go through multiple terrain if he had the tech to do so.
He followed the girl to a stand where she got some random looking meat, in return she gave the older lady blue coins. This whole place has it's own currency which Eric found funny, most of the tech place had a bartering system unless you were in the capital.

Eric took the stick from her, and waited for her to bite in it before he did. He wasn't too sure about it, it was kind of a mystery. The girl then tried to explain his eye gear, which was kind of the point of it."I guess you could say that." He told her as he felt a weird kind of presence around his legs. Some kid used a hologram sword to go through them, leaving Eric somewhat dumb founded considering kids could make hologram swords.
After finally taking a bite of the meat he turned to the girl and swallowed. "Oh, I'm Eric by the way."

She at her meat and chuckled looking at the kids smiling "Wow Trickery magic knows no bounds does it? Illusion swords that go through things and doesnt hurt them... What will they think of next..." She chuckled and walked with him The meat tasted off it wasnt cow or lamb or even pig. "Im jennifer nice to meet you eric."

She smiled as she headed towards a store labled "Malcom's Mechanical Parts" "So what other fancy things do you have at your side of the world? Anything cool like the mobile vechical the 1st ranks are saying that they are working on creating?" She said like it was some silly make belive machine

"It wierd that their making it, will all their magic that lets them fly why do they deed some mobile vechial thing?" she said as she walked into the store everything looking like used out of date spare parts but the sign on many of them claiming that they were new modles that just came out.

Eric nodded and followed her into the store.
"People are working on a mobile vehicle of some sort, but one that can go on multiple terrains. Only people in the capital will have access to them, so you either buy it or build it." Eric explained to her, looking at all of the parts hanging around the store. "I've never built anything with wheels because they are useless in the desert." He told her, picking up some cogs and looking if they fit together. "I might be able to throw something together in a few days so the trip to the other walls is shorter however."

Eric turned to Jenny and raised an eyebrow "Where will we all be staying?" He asked, looking how the sun was slowly beginning to set.

Jenny blinked looking to him "whats a desert?" she asked con fused before looking over her gauntlents "well I usually just use these to get around with these guys i just need a day before Im at the wall." she then looked through the parts couriously looking from them to her gauntlents as if to see if they would work with them. "well unles you have friends to stay with I guess at the Inn there only one in this city." she said casually.
