Deadlock didn't say a word as she advanced on him, focused intently upon his position as she moved towards him across the intervening distance, noting with pride as his heels came up against the closing gate, which clicked shut, sealing him in. Sure... he could break eye contact with the inevitable and probably... jump out, or climb out or something, but a lot could happen in the skin of a second, and the silently advancing guardian was watching him.

He fired. Deadlock... moved. And he missed. She did not move much at all - and the movement didn't even break her stride, but her steps fell in an odd position, she wobbled sideways, and the bullets missed by narrow margins on both sides. A fluke maybe? It was difficult to say one way or the other, but she wasn't exactly hurrying either, whoever this guardian was. Her arms dropped to her sides.

Greed was surprised, he gave a half chuckle when he saw that his bullets had missed. The movement caught his eye. He was cocky in his aim, couldn't see her move the second he'd started to line his shot up. This guardian was good, strong... but Greed was the brain child of Lucifer himself. He'd trained with his craft more years than the girl's entire lineage. He'd fought demons fast enough to dodge his guns.

"Paint me impressed kid. Maybe if you had as much time as me, you'd grow into something great."

He said with a nod. He could feel his back to the wall, but there was still a rough 20 meter distance between his mark and him. More than enough. He fired again, this time his wrist slightly arched. To the girl it'd look like he was aiming to the left side of her kneecap, meaning the best way to dodge would be to slide right... but the hitch in his grip, something so minute and small it'd be nearly impossible to recognize in the split second the robot had. The bullet would go to the right side of her knee. If she did the same dodge as before, it'd go right through the kneecap.

Only one problem - Deadlock wasn't a moron. She wasn't dodging him because she was at all faster or even had superhuman reflexes. No, that wasn't her forte. She watched his snappy movement, was already reacting by the time he squoze the trigger. She moved again - did a little windmill pirouette with her arms outstretched like she was keeping her balance, and the bullets simply missed again. And now, there was fifteen feet between them. No, she wasn't dodging his bullets. She was simply being where they were not going to be. She was predicting them.

Greed again gave an approving nod. The girl was good, dodging before the attack even came. She was a genius, that much was clear. He'd just have to be better. Predicting where the gun was pointing was incredibly hard, and even then... Greed had two guns. A rapid fire, one going where the other left blind. He had 20 shots at his disposal.

"Good luck, kid. I'd rather you didn't die. You're too fun."

He shot rapidly, his left would go for the knee while the other went for the collar, dangerously close to center mass. She'd have less than seconds to calculate her dodges, and even then he figured she'd still get hit at least once, but more likely a few times. He hesitated a mere second before his shots, tracking her movements. His aim was perfect. Her dodging was good, but he quickly unleashed a hellstorm of bullets. Each shot more on point than the last and less than two seconds between. He was done playing. He'd just be disappointed if she'd dodged in a way that made one of the bullets fatal.

Deadlock tilted her head at his words. How many bullets could he have? Those were distinct guns... revolvers of some kind surely, and she was relatively fresh off some rather nasty injuries to her legs. So, she stopped advancing upon him, and lifted her chin just slightly, and, palm up, brought her hand around in front of her in an eloquent gesture, welcoming him to keep trying.

Bring it on.

And he obliged. The world as she saw it.. was different from the way you and I see it as Greed brought his twin pistols to bear upon her form. She could see in her mind's eye the projection of the first shot as the muscle in his hand twitched and defined it, and it was a simple matter to simply move her foot. The second pistol roared shortly after - and her shoulder jerked slightly as she twisted, the bullet making the collar of her leather jacket ruffle as it passed her by. She never stopped moving through the beautiful lines, trying her best to put the agony in her legs out her thoughts. The third shot came at her supporting leg, but she was already rolling her hips and twisting the opposite direction to dodge the fourth as she clenched her fist.

The fifth came low, but there was a puff of air, and very suddenly she was a foot from where she'd been with a rattling jerk as her fingers caressed the switch to the icarus repulsor in her palm. The lines tracked her though, the demon's marksmanship impossibly perfect though she'd never removed her eyes from him. She bobbed a bit, to one side, crossing her arms across her chest a moment, the sixth shot missing narrowly. Deadlock bent her knees and hopped deftly forward - seven, then bent over - eight.

She flicked her control again, and boosted backwards in an attempt to avoid nine - but she wasn't quite quick enough, or he was getting better. Or, part of her raged, the pain was getting to her. it was, that. It burned her left thigh, leaving a livid red line as it split the interface suit over her thigh. She grit her teeth and struggled not to lose control of herself, and stepped forward, the tenth bullet moving across her back, again slicing leather and searing her pale flesh. Her leg lifted and curled - eleven, and she hopped forward on one foot - twelve.

Thirteen she bent backward to avoid, but the pain on her back slowed her down just a fraction of a second - and it cut her too, a bit deeper than the others. Blood welled up and she gasped, but it hadn't pierced her abdomen, thank goodness. She simply sat down to avoid fourteen, and boosted - fifteen. Her reactions were slowing though. To Greed, that would be evident - pain was taking over. He was too good a shot - and that's why she took sixteen as a burn on the side of her neck, dangerously close to her jugular vein. Seventeen, she was still sliding - just a half an inch further than she should have been as she regained her balance, but eighteen? She did something crazy - she boosted forward, and dipped her shoulder away from the bullet as she closed on him. She had less time to react to nineteen, and got another burn across her leg for her trouble. Twenty? She had almost no time to react to it, and it took her in the flank just below the ribs at the very edge - a hit! But now she was in his face, her fist borne by her momentum, but it wasn't a haymaker. It was a jab, aimed right at his neck.

It was also a feint, a front for a right cross that came like a scorpion sting, that bore her entire body's strength behind it, aimed right at his left temple.

The girl closed the distance, and Greed was impressed that she'd minimized the damage... but she assumed him defenseless. He laughed at the thought. He had every advantage in the close range fight, he figured. The robot lady had a gimp knee, bullet wound, and multiple grazes. When the punch came in he moved to block with his right hand, but noticed the feint attack with a grin. His other hand went to catch the fist and gain wrist control. He was impressively durable.

"Not good enough!"

He shouted out as he caught the fist. Then his world went white for a moment and he felt his knees start to buckle. A blinding pain shot up his arm, like he'd just been burned alive. He slid back against the fence, releasing the fist in the instant he touched it. A steam radiated off his palm as if it'd been burned. He cursed loudly, realizing what happened and quickly trying to crawl away.

"Sneaky... little witch..."

He growled out roughly. He vaguely wondered if she'd kill him. He cursed himself for not being prepared. How did she find his weakness?

Deadlock tilted her head at him, watching his reaction as the new weapon she'd put together had the... intended effect. She wasn't really a woman of faith. Oh, she believed in god, in right and wrong, in his commandments, and tried to be a good person, but she didn't... believe, not as such. But the effect on Greed? It was irrefutable. The presence of him alone was proof enough that a darkness existed that had nothing to do with the real world. She howled as she aimed a kick at his side as he tried to crawl away... and drew the Grim Bat. It didn't look much different from a normal baseball bat, really... the only difference was that the handle was different - it had a trigger like a chainsaw, operated by the fingers.

Her voice was heavily distorted by the mask, coming out as a two-toned nightmare, but she was understandable as she rasped out a reply.

"I was arrogant. Not AGAIN!" she howled, and as she swung the Grimbat like it was a golfclub, and Greed was a tee that had just made a personal remark about her mother. At the last possible moment before impact, she REVVED the thing. He was a demon, she'd told herself - it was something he could probably endure, though if it hit, it would probably smash him good, bounce him through the junkpile beside him. She'd given it all she had - it was a hell of a haymaker. She'd tested the thing on oncoming cars by swinging down at their engine block (Once, a drug dealer had tried to run her down). You could say he lost that game of chicken. You could also say that he wound up in a body cast for six months and she broke into his intensive care unit, bribed the cop to give her five minutes, and drew him a set of female genitalia on said bodycast, dressed him up in a frilly pink tutu and posted pics of it online. You'd be right either way.

"You're in my house, Demonboy!"she said, spreading her arms, still holding the bat. "What made you think you'd get away with this BS? You really do think you're hot stuff, doncha? Think I didn't pay attention? Greed? Think I didn't learn?" she said, and touched her injury. She was indeed bleeding, and pretty badly. But she'd bled before. She felt her back a moment - and realized the bullet had gone pretty much straight through her. It hadn't hit a vital, or even a major blood vessel - it was just painful and dangerous. Even so, her breathing was a bit labored. Jerk. She did some mental math and figured she'd lost about a half a pint of blood so far, and unless she got this taken care of in the next... oh, five minutes or so, she'd have a really bad night again.

She clenched her fists on the blessed iron knuckles she'd made with Dyan's help, and the Grimbat creaked a bit as she squoze it. Dyan... seriously, that woman... who'd have believed in that witchcraft stuff? But... she was the reason she'd been able to dream lucidly to fight off Greed in her Dream world. She was the reason that she had been able to hurt Greed at all. Incredible. Maybe there was something to this religeon business? She glanced at the knuckles... then at him again.

"Funny, Greed - never saw the point of religion 'till I met you."

Greed was starting to recover from the holy weapon hitting him when he felt the kick to his side. He grunted a bit, rolling over. He shot the girl a glare before noticing the weapon she drew... If that was a holy weapon, he was certain he'd die. The thought infuriated him. He'd given mercy, and this is how it paid off? Specifically aiming for harder, nonlethal spots... and he was gonna die? The thought was straight insulting to him.

He brought his hands up to block in a cross formation. The bat hit his chains, sending him soaring but weakening the blow significantly. He found himself bouncing through the pile of scrap, metal ripping into his skin every once in a while. At the end, he was bleeding from his side, his leg, and his arm. A line of blood also fell from his hairline as he found himself surveying the damage.

"I'd had a hunch you mighta been dumb. I thought you were a robot, to be honest."

He called back as he found that he could still move one arm and his legs, though doing so caused a lot of pain. He pulled himself up against the pile of metal. As he did, a piece fell from the pile. A shiny little compass, worth nearly nothing. Greed picked it up with a grin.

"There you are..." He said to himself, though the girl was still in hearing range. He picked up the compass, keeping his eye on the girl. She'd knocked him quite far away again. "I think I'll be taking this. You probably shouldn't be fighting while you're bleeding like that. And to be honest it's a pain. Not much of a point anymore, I figure."

Greed said with a shrug, wondering if she'd accept his offer.

Deadlock tilted her head at him slightly, and then threw her head back to laugh at him a moment. So he really was Greed. She'd knocked him some distance away, but very suddenly she was directly in front of him again. Jetpacks, man. The skull-headed woman in black leather sheathed her bat, and picked Greed up bodily by his shirt. By now, she was pretty sure she understood the way he thought, and she'd be stupid to tell him to just take that. But she'd be even dumber to think he wouldn't come back if she did.

"No, you can't have it." she said, certain that he wouldn't take it if she simply gave it to him. She brought her face within an inch of his own and slammed him against the junk pile bodily, tilting her head at him. The knuckledusters were deliberately brought in close proximity to his body as she hissed, furious "But everything else here is a gift, Greed. You can consider everything else here a present to you - everything. My house is your house, you poor, wretched little man" she hissed. She'd just given him... charity. She spun and tossed him to the ground towards the exit of the junkyard, and by the time he turned again...

... she was gone.

Greed was taken back by her speed, and his desire to end the fight seemed like it'd end in failure, and he gripped his gun in his pocket. They were deep, hiding the fact that they were pointed at the girls kneecap again. He didn't shoot though, he let her threaten him. He didn't care about threats. Maybe if he was Wrath he'd get offended, but luckily he wasn't. When she grabbed his collar, lifting him up straight, he instinctively responded.

"Woah, rude." He said with a sloppy smirk, not giving the knuckles any attention. A normal person would fear such a weakness being thrown in their face, but Greed was far from normal. He was Greed, of course.

The offer the girl made had him chuckling. Had she figured him out that fast? When she slammed him back he didn't flinch or show any pain. He kept his smirk under his mask. He never did drop the compass though. Before she threw him he gave a nod.

"I was wrong. You're pretty smart. I like ya. I'm sure we'll see each other again sometime, maybe different circumstances, eh? Kehehehe."

Then he was tossed aside, barely managing to remain on his achy legs. He dusted his shirt off, shoving the compass in his pocket. He turned to bid a farewell, but the girl was gone. Damn, he'd never even gotten her number. If she was half as fun as she was tonight in her every day uniform, he'd have loved a date. She probably wouldn't have gone for it, anyway, he reasoned to himself as he started walking to the exit. He flicked the compass in the air, catching it on it's way down. Maybe in a different life, he thought as he climbed the fence to get to his cycle again. Tonight turned out alright.
